For those who have served well as deacons, obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith, which is in Christ Jesus. There you have it. A very special tribute to those lay people, those folk who serve the Lord diligently but basically without pay. We call them laymen, lay ladies. Those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing. A good standing means that you have earned a good reputation by doing right and by doing it with diligence and great boldness in the faith. That means that they are communicating Christianity. They are sharing their faith in Christ and the phrase includes which is in Christ Jesus. God wants you and me to be faithful witnesses, faithful followers of Him and faithful tellers of the truth to people who need the Lord. Will you pray daily? Read God's Word consistently. You and I need to fellowship with utter believers all the time and then we need to go with the gospel at every possible opportunity. I hope you will. May God bless you as you go.
