Telling The TRUTH
111012 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dooms. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The law was our tutor to bring us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Galatians 3.24, New King James Version. You perhaps have heard the definition of justified, just as if I'd never sinned. And our justification comes through faith in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by faith, is what all of God's going before Jesus came is all about. And why did Christ come? To be born of a virgin, to live perfectly, to die for our sins, to be buried, to rise again victorious over sin and death, triumphant for us because our sins are forgiven when we trust Jesus. So now we know that if we will simply trust Christ, wonderful things can happen. But there are people out there who haven't done that, and you know who they are, and hopefully you are concerned about them. Are you concerned enough to take the gospel to someone and to share the saving knowledge of the power of the Lord Jesus Christ with those friends and family members who need Him? I hope you will. I hope that you will pray. I hope that you will read God's word. I hope that you will respond to what God's word tells us to do. I hope that you will pray with other believers. And then I hope that you will actually go. Galatians 325, New King James Version says, "But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor." The tutor was the law. When I was in high school, I had difficulty with a particular subject, and I was assigned a tutor. The only problem was my tutor wasn't very good, but I learned what tutoring is all about. And so the law is our tutor or was. It no longer is because we don't need it now when we place our faith and trust and belief in the Lord Jesus. Have you done that? You know what I'm going to say if you have listened to this broadcast more than once. Admit you have sinned. Turn to Jesus from your sins. Believe on the Lord Jesus. And then tell other people you are a believer. Tell them how they too, by believing on Christ, can have life, abundant life, life forever. I want you to know that God loves you. Make sure that you are in tune with the Lord personally. And then fellowship with other believers. Pray together, read God's word together. And then go together to those who need the Lord. Some people who you know, whom they know, who need Jesus. Will you? How do you become a Christian? How does anyone become a child of God? Here's how. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3.26, New King James. Only those who have trusted Christ are sons of God. Only those who have put their faith implicitly in Him have received the gift of God, eternal life. Sins are forgiven when confession is made. When and about face happens, called repentance, turning to Jesus from our sins, trusting Him totally, placing our faith in Him with no reservations. And when that happens, we then are sons of God, our daughters, if you're female. God wants us to know that you or anyone can be a member of His forever family through faith. Have you placed your faith in Him? If you haven't, you can. If you have, will you share your faith? People are waiting to be told how to get to heaven. You can tell them. Admit you have sinned. Believe on Christ. Confess Him publicly. Tell people you believe. Search the scriptures. Check them out and see what God says. Tell someone, pray with others, and then go. Where there is life, there is hope. Listen to Galatians 5-5, New King James Version. For we, through the Spirit, eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. Let's analyze those words for just a moment. Through the Spirit, the Holy Spirit is available to every believer and indwells the Christian. And because He has done what He says He will do to live in us, we then become the temple of the dwelling place of God's Holy Spirit. And because, through Him, we eagerly wait, not passively or complacently, but eagerly wait for the hope. The hope of what? The hope of righteousness. All of our righteousness is as filthy rags, but God's righteousness is absolutely pure. And it comes by faith. Faith is the only way to get to heaven. Faith. Someone has said, prayer is the key to heaven, but faith unlocks the door. Pray with other people who believe. Go with the gospel to those who don't know Him and help people become believers. Pray with other believers for those who are not. And then take the gospel to them after praying and reading and heeding the Word of God. God wants you to be His communicator. Will you? The law has been replaced by grace in Christianity. Listen to Galatians 5-6, New King James. For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. That's it. It's what we call the faith factor and the love involvement. God is love. And God has told us to love our neighbor as ourselves. God wants us to love people who are unlovely and difficult to even like. Let alone to love, but that's what God wants us to do. And we can do that through our faith in Jesus Christ. We can look at people and see them not as they are, but as they could be if they would turn to Him who was buried after He died and rose again and lives at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for every believer who prays in Jesus' name. Will you pray in His name for those who don't know Him? And then will you activate your faith by going to them with the gospel? Pray with others who have actually believed on Christ as you have. Pray compassionately and deliberately for people that you know that they know who don't know Christ and tell those people that you're praying for how to get to heaven. You can do that if you will. So the question is, will you? People are hurting everywhere and they need help. They need someone to go to them to do something good for them in God's name for His glory. Galatians 6-10, New King James Version says, therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially those who are of the household of faith. In other words, everybody needs help, but sometimes we neglect to help those people who are fellow believers. God expects us to go to them and to reach out, doing good needs to glorify the Lord, to help them where help is necessary, where there is a real need. Find the need and fill it. There is somebody that needs you. There is something you can do. Number one, you can pray. Number two, you can read God's word to get direction, to get guidance, to get inspiration. Number three, you can pray with other believers for those who have need, and then you can go doing good, and the greatest good you can do is to share the good news of the saving power of Jesus Christ with people who need to know Him. But don't neglect those who've already believed. Where there is a need, fill it. It's up to you, I hope you will. Can you identify with the Apostle Paul with what he wrote to the church at Ephesus? Recorded in chapter one, verses 15 and 16 of Ephesians. Can you see yourself in this picture? Listen, therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. Now that's a tall order, but it's a necessary thing for us to do. When you hear of people who have placed their faith in Christ, don't neglect to pray for them, and to encourage them, and to help them in every possible manner that you can. And then give thanks to God, praying especially for those people, giving praise to God for the individuals who have been helpful to you, for those who have trusted the Lord. Maybe there is someone that you have shared Christ with, and they have now become believers. Keep praying for them. Keep thanking God for them, and let them know that you are praying for them. And there are others out there who need your prayers, who need to hear the gospel, who need you to pray with other believers, and then go after reading God's word. Share Christ. (upbeat music) - Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages six to nine is available in a separate room. For more information, call 812-867-2418, or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. (upbeat music) - Today I want to present to you a living, loving tribute to my aunt, Juanita Belcher-Jones Madden. She was born August 21, 1912, and she went to be with the Lord last Friday, November 2. And we know that all things work together for good. To those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose, Romans 828, the King James Version. During my growing up days, we had at our little church, what they called popcorn testimonies. And people would talk about what God meant to them and what Jesus had done for them, or they would share some scriptures that were very meaningful. My aunt, Juanita's mother, we called her Grandma Belcher, would share Romans 828 as her life first every time. And we know that all things work together for good. To those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose. Juanita Madden at 100 is singing in heaven now. The heaven she and her sisters and brothers sang about in churches and on radio for many years. She went to the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ, November 2, 2012, listening to a recording of her singing with her sisters and brother. Born August 21, 1912, to Henry and Leora Seton Belcher, she was the eldest of her siblings. As a teenager, Juanita realized the truth of Romans 3 23, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. And Romans 6 23, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. She made the decision to turn to the Lord Jesus Christ from her sins. She spent a lifetime personifying Romans 10, 9, and 10. That if you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes under righteousness and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. She shared her faith, singing God's praises at every opportunity. She served her Savior. She was a charter member of Grace Memorial Church in Mount Carmel, Illinois. She married Herschel Jones in 1932, and they had two sons, Richard Wayne and Thomas Michael. Her husband and sons preceded her in death. Later, she married Hallie Madden, who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Imogene Peterson, Olive Weber, Audrey Luka, and Hank Belcher. During World War II, she and her sisters were offered a recording contract with RCA Victor if they would sing popular songs. They responded to the only sang gospel songs, and the record company told them there was just no market for that kind of music. That was a different era. In January 1949, her pastor Charles Pederson and his wife, Mary, launched Echoes of Grace, a weekly live radio broadcast over WVMC Mount Carmel. The Belcher Trio was featured, and when the speaker pastor, Pederson, moved to Elkhard, Indiana, I was Juanita's nephew, and as a high school senior, became the weekly speaker and sometimes soloist. Later, her brother, Hank Belcher, and/or her nephew, John K. Weber, sang with the ladies from time to time, making the trio a quartet. And when I founded Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, formerly Tri-State Youth for Grace in 1966, Aunt Juanita was an ardent prayer partner and enthusiastic supporter, and she continued across the years. Well in their 80s, Juanita and her sister, Olive, still served as organist and pianist at their church. She was survived by her prayer partner and caregiver, Judy Larson, sister-in-law Cleo Belcher, brother-in-law Bill Luka, nieces and nephews, myself, Jeff Jones, John Keith Weber, Anne Weber Essington, Beverly Weber Watson, Steve Weber, Larry Peterson, Roger Peterson, Becky Peterson, Kincaid, Gary Belcher, Renee Belcher, Alta Donna, Glenn Luka and Scott Luka, and several great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by step-suns, Ross Madden and Larry Madden, step-grandson John Faust, and longtime family friend, Jack Evans. What a wonderful thing it was to have the memorial service for my aunt and to have so many people coming in, giving testimony of what she meant to them. What a great thing it is to have a legacy that only God can really, really, really ordain. And when we meet Jesus, it becomes our lot in life to share our faith in Him with others. And because my aunt became a Christian as a teenager, she got very enthused about triple T, reaching out to teenagers. And constantly she would say, "Oh, I thank the Lord for this ministry "that God led you to begin." And Mary and I spent lots and lots of time with my aunt. And from time to time when we'd celebrate birthdays, our whole family would gather there along with others. My daughter Tammy, my son James, his wife, Yvonne, and therefore kids would gather around, Catherine and Bennett, Drennan and Mayley, and we would sing Happy Birthday to her. And we did that for her 100th birthday back in August. What a wonderful thing it is to know that God is indeed in charge. When we serve Him, when we trust Him, He's going to open doors of opportunity that are different, delightful, and demanding. God wants you to know He has a plan for your life. When you reach the age of 100, should that happen to you? Can people say, oh, what a wonderful servant of God, that particular person, meaning you, is? I hope that can be said of you, and I trust it can be said of me. I'm praying that God will help me to move forward. On my desk, as I have shared many times, is a little poem, "Only one life will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last." With the Apostle Paul, I say, "For me to live is Christ." And as we share the gospel, and as we see more people come to know Him, it's a thrilling, thrilling thing. Just last Saturday, we got the wonderful message that one of the young ladies that we had given Bibles to to give away at school was with another student on the school bus and she said, "You go into the cafeteria?" And the other girl said, "Yes." She said, "Well, I've got something for you." When they got to the cafeteria, she said, "Do you have a Bible?" And the girl said, "No, I don't." She said, "Well, I've got one for you. Let me explain to you how it works and what it is." And she read God's ABCs inside the front cover. She gave her the Bible and then she asked her if she would like to receive God's gift of eternal life. And right there in the cafeteria of a tri-state school, another young lady, led another friend, a classmate to Christ. What are you doing where you are? Are you sharing God's Word, His love, His message of salvation, the gift of God eternal life? You can if you will. In just a few moments, I'm going to share with you the scriptures that we were able to present at the graveside service for my Aunt Juanita Madden. It's wonderful scripture. It's Romans chapter eight, verse 8, 28, which we've already shared, all the way through verse 39. I want you to listen because there could be something there that would throw some brand new information your way that would cause you to know how much Jesus loves you and what He wants to do for you and with you and through you. Triple True Christian News Ministries continues Saturday by Saturday. Last Saturday was another Tiger Team training day. And every November rally will express thanks to God for His indescribable gift. And then we're moving toward December one, Jesus' birthday party will provide three layer cakes, illustrating the gospel to all who give their time to come that night. Giving a Bible to every first-timer and achievement awards to Tiger Team participants are special moments week by week. We believe that God wants you and me to understand how much He loves us and to do something about it. We want you to know that we're going to be going forward for God's glory. We're going to be sharing the gospel with as many people as we can, as effectively as we can, as quickly as we can. We are so thrilled about the people who serve the Lord through Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries. We have pastors, and we have youth leaders, and we have parents and grandparents who care about kids, and they come. We have school teachers. We have church staff members. We have all kinds of folk. We have businessmen. We have people in the work of the world that care, and they come and they transport kids to and from Triple T, and they help behind the scenes in all kinds of ways. And you're invited to come and check it out yourself tonight at Triple T. We'll be here, God willing, and we would like very much to meet you. In fact, we'd like to give you one of those New King James Bibles of your very own. If you'll stay tuned, we're going to tell you a little bit more about all of this, but we have some special scripture now, so stay tuned. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) Listen to Romans 8, verse 28 through 39, New King James. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the first born among many brethren. Moreover, whom he predestined, these he also called, whom he called, these he also justified, and whom he justified, these he also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for your sake we are killed all day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Fantastic scripture, wonderful promises, and you can believe that they are true. And if you are a believer, if you've admitted to sin and believed on Christ and turned to him from your sins, you can apply all of those scriptures personally. I suggest that you read them again in the quietness of your office, your house, even pull your car over the side of the road and do it then. We have something for you. It's a new King James Bible and it's free. All you have to do is come to Triple T to get it or call us and we'll send you one if you can't come here. The address is TTT Christian Youth Ministries. 13,000, that's 1, 3, 0, 0, 0, U.S. Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana, 4, 7, 7, 2, 5 or call, area code 812-867-2418. If you would like to make a contribution that would honor Juanita Madden and her 100 years, you can do that. You can send it to Triple T, you can even go online. You can give online now and our address, our website is www.tttchristianyouth.org. Repeat, www.tttchristianyouth.org. We're looking forward to hearing from you and if you can come, it would be great to see you. One of the things that my aunt did was put together this trio with her sisters and then later, letting her brother or her nephew sing. But one of the songs that they sang was, "I Love Him." And I wanna share the lyrics with you now. I love Him. I love Him because He first loved me and purchased my salvation on Calvary's tree. Gone from my heart, the world and all its charms. Now through the blood, I'm saved from all alarms. Down at the cross, my heart is bending low. The precious blood of Jesus cleanses white as snow. Once I was lost and way down deep in sin, once was a slave to passions fierce within, once was afraid to meet an angry God, but now I am cleansed from every stain through Jesus' blood. Once I was bound, but now I am set free. Once I was blind, but now the light I see. Once I was dead, but now in Christ I live to tell the world around the peace that He does give. And by the way, that was written by Stephen Foster, the same one who wrote, "O Susanna and my old Kentucky home." God loves you. Jesus died for you. Have you received His gift of eternal life? You can, if you will. Pray this prayer, God, I've sinned and I'm sorry. I'm turning to Jesus from my sins. I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ personally, and I'm willing to tell other people that I believe. If you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart when believes under righteousness, with the mouth confession has made a salvation. We're looking forward to hearing from you, and if you've just said yes to Jesus, let us know. Christ through you can change the world.
