[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dumes. "May leave on the Lord Jesus Christ." What is your sphere? Where are you? Where have you been? Where are you going? Listen to 2 Corinthians 10, 15, looking James Version. Not boasting of things beyond measure, that is in other men's labors, but having hope that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere. That's the goal, that's the hope on the horizon. Do we able to get the gospel to as many people as possible as effectively as possible in our sphere? Our sphere begins within the 50-mile radius of where we are just outside of Evans, Indiana. It extends out 100 miles, and then 200, then 300, then 400, and way beyond. God wants you and me to understand that we are too, as someone has aptly said, "bloom where we are planted." God puts in us a specific position in our hearts, and then He puts us in a specific position geographically. But what are we to do? We are to move faith-wise spiritually, to embrace every person we can, and share the gospel as effectively as we can, when we can. Will you be a gospelizer? Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Prove yourselves. Do you not know yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you, unless indeed you are disqualified? 2 Corinthians 13, 5, New King James. You are disqualified if you have not believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have not turned to Him from your sins, God wants you to understand that Jesus Christ died so you wouldn't have to. He was buried. He really was, and He rose again the third day, triumphant over the tomb, giving victory over death. Jesus is alive, and today He wants to live in you. And if you have never yet admitted you have sinned, and turned to Jesus from your sins, do it now. If you have, tell people. Tell the whole world one by one, the people with whom you come in contact, that God loves them, and Jesus died for them, and if they will believe on the resurrected Christ, they can have life that lasts forever. So what are you going to do about it? Don't be disqualified, but understand when you examine yourself, you can find out where your faith is. Prove yourself. Be a workman that needs not to be ashamed directly dividing the word of truth. Yes, God is a plan for you, and He has people for you to reach that nobody can reach quite the way you could if you would. Paul the Apostle is talking about himself. He is sharing who He is with people who need to know. Galatians 1, 23, 24, New King James Version says, "But they were hearing only He who formerly persecuted us, now preaches the faith which He once tried to destroy, and they glorified God in me." Isn't that a wonderful statement that Paul is making? He now preaches the faith which He once tried to destroy. That's a total conversion. That's an absolute rearrangement of lifestyles. It happened to Paul, it could happen to you. God wants to make you usable and use you. And then they glorified God in me, Paul says, and you can say it. They glorified God in you. When you get everything in tune with the Lord. Let me share with you the burden of my heart to get the gospel to people who need to know the Lord. There is somebody that you know, that I don't know, that you could reach if you would reach them. So will you pray? Will you read the Word of God? Will you pray with other believers? And then will you go with the message of salvation? Tell people to admit they have sinned, to believe on Christ, to confess Him publicly, and they will be born again. Listen carefully to Galatians 2, 16, New King James, and endeavor to apply it personally to your situation. Listen. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. Even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law, for by the works of the law, no flesh shall be justified. Is your faith really implicitly placed in Jesus Christ, the Son of God? Are you sharing that personal faith in Him with others, who perhaps have not yet heard, or have not yet believed? It is your wonderful opportunity to take the good news of the resurrected Christ, the Christ who died for the sins of mankind, one by one to people, so that people can come to know Him. There is somebody waiting for you to tell them, somebody wants to pray with you about those folk who need the Lord. You need to one more time read the Word of God. Look again at Galatians 2.16. Put the faith factor into effect and go today to someone who needs the Lord. Will you? I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2.20, New King James Version. That's the testimony of the Apostle Paul. Can that be your testimony? I certainly want it to be mine. I want that to be who I am. I want people to know that George Dooms has been crucified with Christ. And so it is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me. And it's all done because I live by faith in the Son of God. He loved me. He gave Himself for me. He did that for you too. But can you say I live by faith? Are you doing the things that God would have you to do? Do you trust the Lord for every aspect of your life? Are you concerned about people who don't know Christ, who are going to die and go into eternity without Him, forever cast into a lake of fire? Or are you compassionate enough to take the gospel to people and share your faith with them? Faith that helps them know Jesus personally. You can, of course, if you will. Will you? Are you a believer? Truly a believer? Listen to Galatians 3.22, New King James. But the Scripture has confirmed all under sin that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. Do you understand what that means? God really wants you to know that it is the faith placed in Jesus that makes all the difference. Because of faith being placed in Him, sin can be forgiven. God wants you to know that your sins can be forgiven if you will confess them to Him. He will do it once you have believed and turned to Jesus from your sins. Then trust the Lord to lead you to other people who have not yet believed. Let them know the truth. Let them know that Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father, except by me." So many people today muddle the waters and confuse the issue by saying, "Oh, it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you are sincere." But that is a lie from the pits of hell. The only belief that really works is personal belief in Jesus Christ. Believe on Him and you will be saved. And so would the people for whom you are concerned if you will take the gospel to them today. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Galatians 3.23, the King James Version. Before faith came, we were kept under guard, kept for the faith. Now it's been revealed. Jesus is alive. Yes, He lived perfectly, born of a virgin, tempted but didn't yield, then died on a cruel cross, shedding His blood because you are a sinner, because I am a sinner. And because we have sinned, Jesus paid the price for our sins. And if we believe and trust and give Him the privilege of saving us, we can then go with that glorious gospel to others who have not yet believed. Who do you know for whom you are concerned that you will share this wonderful plan of salvation with today? Someone is waiting for you. Pray with other believers. Read God's Word and then take the gospel personally to people who need the Lord. It's a wonderful privilege and lots of joy. Joy is Jesus first, other second, yourself last. Have joy in serving Jesus. Every Saturday at 727 p.m. You are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US 41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for ages 6 to 9 is available in a separate room. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. [music] It's always exciting to know what God is doing in the hearts and lives of people. And one of the things that we thrill about at Triple T Christian Youth Ministries is the fact that we've been here a long, long time. God willing tonight will be our 2,440th consecutive Saturday. But one of those series a long time ago, some students from Wright's High School came. One of them was Steve Forrester. And Steve is here in the studio today. I'm going to ask him to tell us how that came about. I think it was a teacher, but he can tell you his story on what caused him to come to Triple T, that first Saturday and several more. Steve, tell us your story. The year was 1972. I was a junior at Wright's High School and my best friend Steve Walker was there with me. And we had a good friendship with a teacher named Gary Bond. And he had shared with us about Triple T so that it was how we got started coming to Triple T. Gary Bond has been a friend for a long, long time. And he's still, by the way, even though he lives in the Atlanta, Georgia area, he is still a tiger teammate on a regular basis. And so, we get together by email, by phone, and sometimes eyeball to eyeball. And that's been a long time ago, but good things have happened. And then later, after high school, you were working with a very special friend of our ministry. As a matter of fact, he's the vice chairman of our board named Ora Johnson. And Ora was pastoring, I believe, on the west side of Evansville. And tell us how that happened and what changed things in your life as a result of Ora's ministry. Ora Johnson was the pastor at Howl at that time. And he became my mentor. And I answered a call to the ministry actually in 1988 and started in the ministry working with youth. And then you brought a few kids here? Yes, I did. In fact, quite a few. Yes, we had a very nice size youth group. And I can remember back to that time that we had actually 8 teenagers in our youth group that were trained here at Triple T to lead other youth to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Well, it still happens, Steve. And the wonderful thing is that today you're bringing some more kids that just met the Lord recently. And they're coming for training in leadership and peer evangelism. It was a delight to be with you. You're now pastoring Scott Township Baptist Church right down the road from Triple T. And you've had us there as your guests two or three times since you've been the pastor. And one of these was just a few weeks ago. And what a wonderful Sunday God gave us as we took a drama team in. And we gave the invitation, presented the gospel. And we had five youth that responded. And I understand that some of them are going to be here later today from 11.30 through the rally tonight to be trained and to participate. And by telling them, "Right, is that what is going to happen?" That is exactly what is going to happen. We have three young girls that will be here. They are very excited about being here and going through this very same training that I had many years ago. And we keep on doing it. And that's the name of the game. Keep evangelizing youth. And the way it happens is through what we call peer evangelism. We have people like you and those adults that work with you and you all came for the coach training. And we have these people that care about kids and they get the kids to come and to be trained. And then they continue to work with them and to challenge them to reach their friends for Christ. And that's what a multiplication has continued to happen year after year, actually decade after decade now. And we anticipate it's going to happen in the days ahead. Steve, one just last question for you. And that is, "If you had your druthers, what would you druther do than anything else in the world?" I think I know the answer. I know that you're a very wise person. And I know what Solomon said as the Holy Spirit directed him to say it. "He who wins souls is wise." Now, if I put words in your mouth, I'm sorry. If I put the right thoughts in your mind, I'm glad. So share what your druthers are. My druthers are to always have opportunities to win the loss to know Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Have you had a ministry in Mount Vernon, Indiana? Tell us about that. And I think there was even some radio involved. Yes, there was. I was pastor at Bethesda General Baptist Church for 13 years and six of those years. I had a radio ministry. It was called Saved and Faithful Ministry and was able to share every Sunday morning on the radio. Another opportunity to reach out to the lost. Okay, now that was on a single station. I take it from the Mount Vernon area. And did you have any response? Yes, we did have a response. We started out at the local station in Mount Vernon and then later continued that ministry on WVHI here in Evansville. Okay, so you've had a great, great time of reaching people using the media, reaching out, doing all kinds of other things. Now, you're involved in another ministry in addition to pastoring a church and actually being bivocational, having a job that takes you across the tri-state. But you have another thing that you're involved in. And I'm not sure I know all the particulars, but tell us about your other ministry. The other ministry is Compassionate Care where we give young ladies who are pregnant opportunities to have their babies adopted into Christian families instead of having them aboard it. Now, is that the one that Dave Kelly is involved in? Yes. Dave is now acting as the executive director, I believe, of Compassionate Care as well as pastoring a church. A lot of our former teenagers, alumni, wear more than one hat from time to time, and Steve is one of them. But we've connected and reconnected now to work together to reach people for Jesus right where we are. And we're excited about what God has already done, but more than that, what He is about to do because there are so many who need the Lord. As most of those folk who pass by here realize Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries is located on Highway 41 at Booneville, New Harmony Road. And now one mile north of us, and who would believe this would ever happen, is the largest high school in junior high in Vandenberg County. And it's the only one that's not in the city of Evansville, North High School. And junior high is right up the road. And we are targeting the students at North to reach them for Christ, as well as students at all the other local high schools in the Evansville area and across the tri-state. There are so many who need Christ, and we're endeavoring to reach out to every one of them as effectively as we can. One of the things that Steve and I have been doing is praying together about the need to reach more people for Christ. And we invite you who are listening today to pray with us. We would like to invite you to be prayer partners. In fact, three things that we need from every person possible who's a believer in Christ is for you to invest your time, your talent, and your treasure. And one of the greatest investments of time is before the throne of grace. To talk to God, to take your petitions known. And if you have somebody that doesn't know Christ that you would like for us to pray with you about, we'd be delighted. We will also send to you copies of God's ABCs for you to share with other people. God has a plan for you. He has something for you to do that only you could do if you would do what you should do. So we need you to be prayerfully considering being a partner with Triple T Christian Youth Ministries. You can be a sharing partner too. Every person who gives at least $20 becomes what we call a tiger team encourager. And you provide with that $20 of scholarship so that another youth can come and be trained in leadership and pure evangelism. And then we have many who are what we call tiger team enlargers. And these teammates give at least $20 a month or an average of that. And we need that to happen too so that we can continue to reach out to as many people as possible as quickly as we can. And then we have the group that we call the tiger team mate expanders. And those are the folks who invest $100 or more monthly. And we are expanding the ministry. This last summer we went to 11 county fairs. As God works out the details and puts the people into the picture, we have a dream to go to 31 counties this coming summer in 2013. Steve, you've been involved in ministry in several different counties. Posey County, Vennenberg County, any other? Those two. Those two, okay. And so two of the 93 within 100 miles of us. And we're working together, praying together. And today training people to take the gospel to people who need the Lord. Stay tuned. We're going to give you some more information about what's happening right here at Triple T and what could happen where you are. Have you seen the billboards that have our message with teenagers, with Christian flags unfurled, following an American flag? And the message believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, telling the truth to teenagers and our website, www.tttchristianyouth.org. They're cropping up hither and yawn. And I hope that many people will not only see them, but will respond to that magnificent message. Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love as Christ also has loved us and given himself for us and offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling aroma. Ephesians five, one and two. That should be our lot in life. That should be who we are. And tonight is nacho night at Triple T and a tiger team training day. And every November rally will express thanks to God for his indescribable gift. And then we're moving toward December one. Jesus' birthday party will provide three layer cakes for everybody illustrating the gospel and Mary puts these together. They're wonderful. They start with a black bottom or a brown bottom representing sin. And then on top of that is red representing the blood of Jesus Christ. It cleanses us from all sin. On top of that is green representing growing in Christ, growing in grace. And it's all topped with a white icing that represents the purity of the Lord Jesus. Then on top of that is a star of David in gold. In the middle of it all, a large red candle. And when that is lighted all the people gather around singing silent night and light smaller candles and then put them all around the periphery of the cake representing the world. We are thrilled because of what God has done and is doing. We're excited because of people realizing the need to reach out to other people. Last Saturday we had several youth that took bibles to give to kids at school and inviting them to come tonight to triple T. We're excited because of what God has done in the hearts and lives of youth. We're thrilled every time another person is brought by someone who cares to triple T Saturday nights. Kids are inviting their friends. Their friends are hearing the gospel. And when they come the second or third time, many of them understand it. They haven't even heard the gospel before. They comprehend it and they give their hearts to Christ. Sometimes it only takes one hearing, most of the time at least three times to hear the gospel before it is personalized and internalized. We want you to know that we appreciate you very much. When I go back to my hometown about Carmel and the Hawaiian people, see me and say, "I hear you in radio." It's a delight. So why don't you let us know that you're listening? You don't have to wait until you see me face-to-face when I'm back in town. But drop us a note. Or call us on the phone. Our phone number is area code 812. It's easy to call. 812-867-2418. Repeat, 867-2418. Or you can send us an email, george@ttcristianyouth.org. Or you can write us a letter. You can even send something to help us reach more kids for Christ. The address is TTT 13,000. That's 1-3-0-0-0. US Highway 41 North. Evansville, Indiana 47725. And if you drop by tonight, we'll give you one of those Bibles. It's free and it's for you. And bring some friends. Especially bring some youth between the ages of 10 and 19. Or even younger tonight. Because every first Saturday is super Saturday. And we have free food. It's not your night tonight. And then we have a good news club for those from kindergarten through fifth grade. And so we want you to know that you are invited, not only to come but to bring people. We're thrilled because of what is coming in the days ahead. But meanwhile, we want you to know that God loves you. Jesus died for you. And if you will admit you've sinned and believe on Christ, you can have life that will last forever. And you can tell other people about it too. Our ministry has all kinds of ways that we get the gospel to people. But the major need we have are praying Christians to ask God to give us the guidance, the direction, the impetus to keep going forward. People to invest time and talent and treasure. We hope you'll be one of those. We're looking forward to either seeing you or hearing from you. So remember Christ through you can change the world.
