[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything we do needs to be done decently and in order. Nehemiah was doing the right thing at the right time and in the right sequence. Don't listen to Nehemiah 7-1, New King James Version. Then it was when the wall was built. And I had hung the doors. When the gatekeepers, the singers and the Levites had been appointed. Again, everything needs to happen precisely the way it ought to. Everything follows sequence and the order of things is very important. The first thing God wants you to do is to make certain that you are a believer, and that you have admitted you have sinned, that you have believed on the Lord Jesus personally, that you have told other people that you believe. And then God wants you to keep telling others. He wants you to pray, to talk with Him. He wants you to read His Word, to let Him talk with you. And then He wants you to talk with others about Him in fellowship with other believers. He wants you to keep on going, telling the truth to those people who don't know Him. But who could know Him if someone like you would tell them about Him. So, will you be a Christian communicator? Will you tell the truth whenever and wherever you can? Then I gave the charge of Jerusalem to my brother, Hananiah, and Hananiah the leader of the citadel, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many. Nehemiah 7 2, New King James Version. Who can you trust? Who do you know who has really been faithful? Who has done what he or she was supposed to do? Who really loves the Lord and fears God as he or she needs to? Trusted friends can help you accomplish much for God's glory. But there are those that you can't trust, because once you are out of their sight, they begin to put you down. They begin to say things that are not true. They begin to try to poison the minds of other people who have just had an encounter with you. Watch out for folks like that, but also be thankful for those who are faithful, those who fear God more than any. There are people in your world like that, so pray with them, fellowship with them, strategize with them for ways to reach out to people who need to know that Jesus really cares for them. God wants to make you usable and use you if you are willing. When you accomplish a magnanimous task, know that your work has not finished. You have to protect what you have built. Nehemiah 7 3, New King James says, "And I said to them, 'Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot, and while they stand guard, let them shut the doors and bar them, and appoint guards from among the inhabitants of Jerusalem, one at his watch station and another in front of his own house. It takes organization to accomplish what God would be pleased to have done by folk like you and me. He wants us to look around us and see what needs to be done. He wants us to have people we can trust to stand guard over what he would have us to continue to accomplish for him. Today, I want you to think about people you know who don't know Jesus, and I want you to pray for those people, and then why don't you get some other believers together and pray for their prospective Christians and yours and then read God's word together and go with the gospel. Keep on praying and put action into effect by going and telling people who need to know Christ, how they can know him by believing, admitting they have sinned, and trusting him completely." Nehemiah and his committed construction crew had rebuilt the wall, but now they faced another series of problems. Nehemiah 7-4, New King James Version says, "Now the city was large and spacious, but the people in it were few and the houses were not rebuilt." So what do you do in a place like this in a situation that is seemingly overwhelming? Well, I know what you can do, you can pray, and you can read God's word. Why not take time to read the book of Nehemiah and watch what God did through this very, very special person who was appointed and anointed by God to accomplish the tasks that were unprecedented. And secondly, after praying and reading, you can share and pray and read with others. Together, you can determine how you are going to accomplish what God would be pleased for you to do to bring honor and glory to him, to share the gospel with people who need him, to let them know that you care. Yes, the people may be few, but you can put together a task force to go forward with the gospel. Will you do it? First pray, then invite, then pray together, and then go out into your community and share Jesus. Do you like to know who did what when? Nehemiah was very interested in learning some things. I want you to listen to verse 5 of chapter 7, New King James. Then my God put it into my heart to gather the nobles, the rulers, and the people that they might be registered by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of those who had come up in the first return and found written in it. Nehemiah 7.5. You don't have to start from scratch. You can find out what someone else has done, and then you can put together some things that will help you accomplish what God wants you to accomplish with the one life He is interested to you. I like to trace the happenings of youth evangelism from its beginnings in America to right now, and project into the future what can happen if people will respond to the challenge to keep evangelizing youth. I hope you will understand that you personally are a part of a vast scheme of things. You are related to people who have gone before you. You need to know who they are, who it was that was responsible to share the gospel with you, and what you have done to share with others. Check it out. Find out and then go forward. Nehemiah 7.73, New King James says, "So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the Nephinim, and all Israel dwelt in their cities." You see, God has scattered people, and when you know who is where and what they are doing, what they have done, what you can anticipate they will do in the days ahead, you will be really able to examine your heart and circumstance and your situation. You will find out you are not alone. There are others whom God has placed into your world, people with whom you can have fellowship, whom you can combine efforts to reach others for Christ. But it's up to you to take the initiative and to figure out who needs to be where doing what. The first thing to do, of course, is to pray and then read God's Word and find out what God would have you to do. And in this fellowship happening, determine how to work together because you can accomplish far, far more than operating with other believers who have a passion for people to know the Lord, as hopefully you do too. So watch God work through you and others that you can gather into your circle as Christian communicators. Now all the people gathered to gather as one man in the open square that was in front of the Watergate, and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded Israel. Nehemiah 8-1, New King James Version. Remember the Book of Joshua? Remember the first chapter? This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night. That is still true for you and for me today. The Word of God is available to us. We need to read it and heed it, and we need to understand that God wants us to bring honor and glory to Him. He wants us to communicate the Gospel with people who desperately need to know that Jesus did die for them, that He was buried, that He rose again. As we follow God's commandments, as we look at what we call God's Top 10, let's make certain we are doing what we are supposed to do by following each of those commandments prayerfully, carefully, and not messing up and not departing from the Word that God has entrusted to us. Fell asleep with other people who are believers and then go into your world and share Jesus. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. As many of you know, we are in the middle of fair share. That's when we take a team or teams out to county fairs and street festivals to share the Gospel of the Lord Jesus. We give away free ice water like it's going out of style and of course with this kind of weather it's a wonderful, wonderful thing to offer. We survey people about teenagers and then we give everybody who will take one a copy of God's ABCs. Their ticket to heaven and those who are 10 to 19 are offered a Bible. We are thrilled about the fact that we've given away hundreds of Bibles now and we're going to be giving away lots more. And just a little aside to you, but if you're listening and you don't have one of our Bibles, why don't you come to Triple T tonight? Because tonight we're going to have the Teen Missions International team with us and also we're going to have a very special guest tonight. His name is Todd Burden and he is called Coach Burden for his basketball sports ministry called Inbounds Ministries. Well today here I have as a special guest a young lady whose name is Jessica Jones and Jessica is from Gillette, Wyoming. That's a long way from Glaucomora. But she's involved with the admissions international. She works in video. But now she's on the team here and we have 10 kids from across the country and we have other leaders and then the traveling tigers from Triple T and our staff too. Jessica, let me ask you three questions to begin. First of all, are you glad you're here? Yes, I am, of course. I'm glad you're here too because you have been a real joy to watch you interact with the teenagers and pre-teens that are a part of the team. And the second question I want to ask you is did you think you were coming here this summer? I know that there are teams all over the world doing all kinds of things. Were you surprised that you ended up here or did you anticipate that? Actually I was kind of surprised that first I was supposed to be summer staff in Florida and then what happened was they wanted me to be a monitor of the Indiana drama team and helping out with Triple T also and then halfway during boot camp they made me an assistant leader. So everything has kind of been spur of the moment. Changing world. But that's okay. And the other question I want to ask you is how did you become a believer in Jesus Christ? Tell us your circumstance and your story. Well that was six years ago in 2006 when I was 15 years old. I went on my first team missions team to the Faroe Islands which is near Iceland. And while on the team I got in trouble a lot and it never really mattered to me until one day my leader was talking to me about manipulation and what I was doing and the Lord convicted my heart of my sin. And later that night I just went to our room that we were staying in and I was just like you know God I can't do this anymore and I need you. And so it was probably about the end of July is when I accepted Christ into my life and it was something that I did on my own. Nobody had told me anything that what I was doing was wrong. I was very recognized at myself and that was kind of the beginnings of it. So the next day I was thrilled to read my Bible and didn't want to put it down. Wonderful. And you've been in team missions for a lot of years now and on several teams. Tell us where you've been. Well like I said in 2006 I went to the Faroe Islands. I didn't think I was coming back and you know when you say never you end up coming back. For the next year in 2007 I went to the Philippines and then I went again third year as a team member to Malawi in 2008. I thought I wasn't going to come back again and I skipped a year in 2009. I came back as an assistant leader in 2010 to Peru and then I joined BMW that following September and then last year in 2011 I led the Ecuador team and now this year I am leading Indiana Drama. Let me explain what BMW is. It's not a car. It's Bible missionary work training centers and they're around the world. About 450 students are involved and they become then staff people for team missions during the summer or whatever their particular time away from the studies might be wherever they are in the world. And then here in the United States BMW in Florida lets the people be involved in teams worldwide and especially here in Indiana. Every year we have somebody or some bodies from BMW that comes here. So Jessica we're delighted that you're here. We're glad for what has happened and what do you anticipate when you finish your BMW training and how much more training do you have to go and what's next? Well I just finished my two years of training. BMW is a three-year program. You have two years of schooling and training in a department of team missions in a national and then you have your third year which is your internship and what I have next to do and now I guess I'll be heading home to raise support from my internship which Lord willing will be in the Philippines for one year. Okay the Philippines. That's a long way also from Guatemala. So we're delighted that you're here and anything that you want to say about what you've experienced here in the fairs you've been at so far. You've been I think so far in at least five different counties plus right here. So anything different that you weren't anticipating that all of a sudden you said oh so that's what's happening here. Well it's a lot more exciting than I at first anticipated. My biggest joy is just to see my preteens go out and just share the gospel. Whenever they're having trouble I'm right there with them and I'm sharing the gospel as well so they can see that their leaders doing it with them and that they're excited about sharing the gospel just like they are and that's one of my biggest joys is to be there with my kids sharing the gospel and showing them what they can work on and how to improve what they're doing. Triple T and Teen Missions have worked together for a lot of years beginning back in 1980 officially and even before that as Bob Bland and I were involved in some things together. But right now we are hosting the they call it the Indiana Drama Team and we tell them that's a misnomer it's Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky because we're going to all of these three states to the fairs and so far we've already been in as I've said six counties and next week God willing for more and that we're thrilled because of what God has done. In our very first week we saw forty-two come to know Christ one-on-one. How do you do that? You admit that you've sinned for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God you believe on the Lord Jesus and then you become willing to tell other people that you believe that Jesus Christ is who he says he is the Son of God, God the Son and then as we share the gospel together we're able to multiply the ministry and watch the Lord do magnificent things we've given the gospel to well over three hundred people the very first week and now far far more at the end of this second week so keep praying with us and for us and again you're invited to come tonight and you can meet the team you can meet the people from across America you can meet Jessica Jones and you can also meet Todd Burton you might even dribble a basketball once or twice we're thrilled because of not only what has happened but we anticipate what can happen and I'm going to ask Jessica if she will just think about a special prayer request in this last minute that we have to share with you before we progress and thinking about being her prayer partner as she shares with you from her heart a very special personal need I guess the biggest thing would mean to pray for our team that God will give them boldness to be able to preach the gospel a lot of our team members are not as bold as some others and I just pray that we will all have the boldness and the strength to be able to overcome our fears of sharing the gospel because we know that all things will work out if we allow God to mold us and to strengthen us. That is probably the biggest prayer request that I have for our team. Okay I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That's one of the verses that we have made sure everybody knows and we want you all that are listening to stay tuned because we're going to be sharing some details about where we go from here knowing that God is doing special things is really a blessing for everybody involved and to see what he has already done in preparing the hearts and the minds and the circumstances to open these doors of opportunity to share the gospel across the tri-state area and we're looking forward to the days ahead we'll be going all the way through the first week of August right up through Ag Days in Mount Carmel, Illinois on the 8th, 9th and 10th and the 11th we're back here for Triple T Saturday nights which happens of course every Saturday at 727 and you're invited stay tuned and we'll give you more information about how you can be a part of what you're doing right now in your world.
