Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Nehemiah was diligently serving the Lord. He was endeavoring to accomplish what he believed would please God. But there were people who were trying to get him to stop. They were putting together a plan to keep the work from progressing. But this was the answer that Nehemiah gave to them when they asked him to cease for a while. Nehemiah 6-3, New King James says, "So I sent messengers to them saying, 'I am doing a great work so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?' Sometimes that happens to you and me. Along life's pathway some will come along and say, 'Stop doing what you're doing and come over and do this or that or the other thing.' Often people will succumb to the temptation of stopping what they should be doing. But God holds us responsible. As I have shared before, not just for what we do or do not do, but for what we could do if we would do what we should do. We need to ask ourselves this question, 'Am I doing a great work for God?' If I am, then why should I cease doing it and go down and do something else? God wants us to serve Him every moment of every day we possibly can. Will you, Christ through you, can change the world.
