Telling The TRUTH
071412 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember me, my God, for good, according to all I have done for this people." Nehemiah 519, New King James Version. God has a plan for us, and He wants us to do what He would have us to do, helping us to do things that God would say, "Well, pleased, my good and faithful servant." What are you doing for God's glory today? Are you doing something for others? Do you care about other folk? Are you really willing to pray with believers for those who are not yet members of God's forever family? Are you willing to commit to memory God's Word? Are you willing to share God's plan of salvation with people who need Jesus? There is someone out there waiting for you. So first pray, pray with others who are believers. Read God's Word together and then share the plan of salvation. Let people know what God says about admitting that we have sinned, believing on the Lord Jesus and confessing Him publicly. When you share the plan of salvation, someone could go to heaven because you care. How much do you really care? Are you ready now to share so people can read the Word? Nehemiah was diligently serving the Word. He was endeavoring to accomplish what he believed would please God. But there were people who were trying to get Him to stop. They were putting together a plan to keep the work from progressing. But this was the answer that Nehemiah gave to them when they asked Him to cease for a while. Nehemiah 6-3, New King James says, So I sent messengers to them saying, I am doing a great work so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you? Sometimes that happens to you and me. Along life's pathway, some of them will come along and say, Stop doing what you're doing and come over and do this, or that, or the other thing. Often people will succumb to the temptation of stopping what they should be doing. But God holds us responsible. As I have shared before, not just for what we do or do not do, but for what we could do if we would do what we should do. We need to ask ourselves this question, Am I doing a great work for God? If I am, then why should I cease doing it and go down and do something else? God wants us to serve Him every moment of every day we possibly can. Will you? False accusations and lies are hurled against some who are serving the Lord, who are endeavoring to communicate Christianity to a lost and dying generation. What about you? Are you being accused falsely, unjustly? Listen to Nehemiah 6-8, New King James Version. Then I sent to Him, saying, No such things as you say, or being done, but you invent them in your own heart. Yes, Satan is a liar, and the father of lies, and many times people are really stopped in their ongoing presentations of the gospel because of folk who do not want the gospel to go forward, people who are listening to the devil. Maybe there's someone in your world like that. Pray, fellowship with other believers, those who really understand that the lost must get the gospel so they can be saved. Read the Word of God. Do what God's Word says, and then go with the gospel. God's Word is quick and powerful and sharp as a two-edged sword, in fact sharper. So take the Word of God and share it with people who need Jesus. Someone is waiting for you to tell them how to get to Heaven. Will you do that today? Who do you know who needs Him, whom to know are right is life eternal? Somebody is waiting. Go. What are you afraid of? For they were all trying to make us afraid, saying their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done. Nehemiah 6-9, New King James. Yes, there are those who will say it doesn't matter what we are doing, it's not going to accomplish anything. They're just whistling Dixie. Whistling Dixie is a whole lot better than not whistling at all. So, what are you whistling today? Who song are you singing? Yes, people are trying to make us afraid, but don't be afraid, except to fear God. It was President Roosevelt who said something like, "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself." The only fear that we have to have is the fear of God. We don't need to fear people. People are going to make all kinds of accusations. They're going to do what they can to keep us from accomplishing God's plan for our lives. But there are people who need the Lord, and those people are depending on you. Are you compassionate enough to pray for them, to have other people join you in prayer, to read God's Word, to do what the Word of God says to do, to go into your world and share the gospel, preach the gospel, present the gospel one-on-one? I hope you will. It's up to you. God's Word tells us that there are ways to escape temptation. As I try to tell teenagers, in essence, there is nothing coming your way that's too hot for you to handle, if you are going God's direction. Nehemiah 611, New King James Version says, and I said, "Should such a man as I flee, and who is there, such as I who would go into the temple to save his life, I will not go in." Yes, Nehemiah was tempted. People were trying to get him to defile the temple. But he said, "No, I'm not going to do that. I'm going to serve the Lord. I'm going to stay true to God." People will try to get you to do things and say things and go places that are not right. It's up to you to say yes or no. God will give you the strength to say no if no is the answer, but he's not going to force it. It's your decision. So don't do what's wrong, but do what's right. And what is right is to tell people about Jesus. Let them know that Jesus saves, and he will personally move into their hearts and give them the gift of God eternal life. Will you tell them how to get to heaven? Will you tell somebody today? Some tasks will seem impossible. Some dreams seem improbable. But when God puts in your heart the divine desire to do something to discover your destiny, then do it, and get others to do it with you. Read and heed Romans 12. Know that you can't do it by yourself, but with others helping you, any task that God wants you to accomplish can happen according to his will. So the wall was finished on the 25th day of the month of illah. In 52 days, Nehemiah 615, New King James. Yes, it looked impossible to large of a task, not enough time. But with enough people doing specifically what would complement each other, the job was done, the task was completed in just 52 days. I don't know how long it would take you to do what God wants you to do, but time is on your side. God is the inventor, the designer of time, so follow him and use what you have to glorify him. You have 24 hours every day. Everyone does. 60 minutes and every hour, 60 seconds and every minute, what are you doing with what God has entrusted to you with your time? Have you ever been involved in a project? Have you ever pursued a dream and have it accomplished because God was in it? Listen to Nehemiah 616, New King James Version. And it happened when all our enemies heard of it and all the nations around us saw these things that they were very disheartened in their own eyes, for they perceived that this work was done by our God. When God gets the glory, when we do it for him, he will help us way beyond any human ways to accomplish things. Yes, you and God make a majority. God will help you accomplish that that would please him the most. We are to work as if it all depended on us, but to pray because it all depends on God. God will give you the strength you need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Share the Gospel. Let people know that Christ died for their sins, for your sins, for my sins, that he was buried, that he rose again on the third day, and he wants to provide eternal life to any person who will admit they have sinned. Turn to Jesus from their sins and tell the world that they believe. Tell Jesus' story today. Someone is waiting for you. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville near Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for those in 1st through 5th grades is available in a separate area. For more information, call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again. Though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am to be content. I know how to be a based, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That's Philippians 4, 10 through 13, New King James Version. God's Word is magnificent because it lets us know what happened to other people that is also happening to us. The Apostle Paul had gone through some very, very difficult moments, but people cared. And as he said, "Your care has flourished for me again." And he knew that they cared, but they lacked opportunity. Sometimes circumstances can't be controlled temporarily, but then God moves in and he hears and answers prayer. And wonderful things then can happen. Their care can flourish again as they did for Paul. And then he says, "Not that I speak in regard to need. For I have learned in whatever state I am to be content." I parallel that by saying I've lived in several states, started out in Illinois, lived for a very, very short time in Indiana, then lived for a little while in Virginia, moved back to Illinois, moved from my hometown to where I went to college in Illinois, then transferred to South Carolina. From South Carolina, moved to Florida, from Florida back to Northern Illinois, from Northern Illinois to Texas, and then back to Northern Illinois. And finally, back home again in Indiana, back in the tri-state. So I parallel, and I know he was not talking about states as we know states, there are 50 of them in the USA. And what privilege it is to meet people from everywhere. We have them here right now at Triple T, from across the United States and from Canada. It's been my opportunity to share the Gospel in many, many, many of these states, and to share with youth leaders at special happenings for them. And then God opens doors for us to have people here from various places. And so, he says not that I speak in regard to need. For I have learned in whatever state I am to be content. I know how to be a based, and I know how to abound. That's a hard thing to know. It's quite a contrast to be a based when you think nothing's going right. Everything is falling apart. How am I going to survive? How am I going to do anything that makes sense? And then to abound. God moves in, and he does something so special for us. And he allows us to have things happen that we never really dreamed could be to the degree that God has allowed it to happen for us. And then he goes on, and he says everywhere. And in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry. Both to abound and to suffer need. Abounding is fun, most of the time suffering need is almost never fun. But if we don't suffer need, then we don't really thank God to the degree that we should when things abound in our hearts and lives and circumstances. And then comes this very, very magnificent statement. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. We teach the youth who come to Triple T this verse by saying it this way. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. And repeat it so that you can learn it too. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. We're having wonderful happenings at Triple T. Jesus Christ changed the world's summit, has been wonderful to put together, and to watch God work in the hearts and lives of so many diverse ministries that cooperate with one another to reach more people more effectively for Christ. To see the gospel in action. Christian communicators doing what they can do with what God has entrusted to them, to polish, to pay the price, and then to present a very special way of sharing the gospel of Christ. We have a lot of fun at Triple T. Water Wars was the 1st of July or the 7th of July. It's always the 1st Saturday July. And then the Jesus Christ changed the world's summit. Partnering with local church and inter-dominational ministries includes Evansville Christian Life Center, the Dream Center, the House of Hope. Just give me Jesus Indianapolis, Teen Missions International, the Motorcycle Sunday School Mission, and Youth Evangelism Association. And, of course, also the Right to Life group. Every Saturday through August 11, we're going to be continuing to give fair share reports. And tonight is a very special night. We have one of our friends coming back. He's very talented in ways that are unusual. His name is Coach Todd Burden. And Coach Burden has put together a ministry called Inbounds. Inbounds sports outreach. And he uses basketball. And he'll be doing a mini basketball clinic on this Saturday night, which is tonight. And sharing with the kids little tricks of the trade on yielding a basketball effectively. And kids go away saying, "I didn't know that. I didn't know that that was how it happened, and that's how I can do it." And they go away with little expertise that they didn't have before. So it's going to be a fun night with these kids from all over the United States here, and those across the tri-state hopefully coming in. And so we're going to watch God work again wonderfully. I want you to keep praying for every aspect of this ministry. We're thrilled about what God is doing. And we were hosting a group of 34 that were on their way to Montana earlier this week, and they're going to be serving the Lord out there at a Navajo Indian reservation all the way to Montana. And they're coming back on their way back to Florida, and then they're going back to their homes. And as I mentioned, fair share started July the 9th. And it's to go through August the 11th. And this team missions team of 17 youth and adults are here. And we're having interactions with them out at fair after fair. This week, we've been at Davies County, Kentucky, at Philpot, Richland County, Illinois at Alny, and Posey County, Indiana near New Harmony. Next week, beginning Monday, Warwick County, Indiana at Booneville, Clay County, Illinois, in Florida, and on it goes as we go from fair to fair and county to county. And then there's a possibility we'll be able to go into the Boy County at least for a day or two. Then the next week, Knox County, Indiana at Bicknell, Pike County, Indiana at Petersburg, Edwards County, Indiana at Albin, and McLean County, Kentucky down at Calhoun. The final next to last week is Lawrence County, Illinois at Sumner, and White County, Illinois at Carmine, and it wraps up August 8th through 10 at Wabash County, Illinois, Mount Carmel Ag Days. And so we've been thrilled to work with people and are looking forward eagerly to being out at more fairs, to give more ice water, to more fair goers, to survey them about teenagers, to give Bibles to those that are 10 to 19. And by the way, you can even get one tonight by coming to Triple T and meeting some of these very, very special people. I hope you will. And then I hope that you will understand that our need more than anything else is for your prayers. For the Triple T team, all of us involved with fair share, including Shelley Bernard, Zach Slater, Richard Comer, Greg Smith, the 2012 Traveling Tigers, and the Teen Missions team. Emery Erenson, Jason and Christine Mollander, and their children, Heather Vinstra, Jessica Jones, and 10 students from America and Canada. If you possibly can, check us out tonight. We would be delighted to have you. The group was only going to be with us this Saturday and next, so to meet them, you just got to come. And we hope you will. Keep tuned, because we've got some other stuff to share with you that I believe is going to be interesting, and hopefully we can connect with you in a very personal, in a very special way, on this Saturday. It starts at 7.27 p.m. tonight, so be with us and you'll be glad and so will we. If you do not know Jesus Christ personally, may I tell you right now how you can admit you've sinned, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The Bible says the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God has eternal life through Christ. Jesus our Lord. Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that her believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Have you believed? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Romans 10, 9, and 10 says, "If you'll confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." Sometimes people say, "I want to give to a ministry like Triple T so that I can kind of buy my way into heaven." No, you can't. You can't buy it. You can't earn it. There's no way you can get eternal life except by faith and trust and believing on the Lord Jesus. If you are a believer, then you can send treasure on ahead. We're asking God to send in $30,000 for these very, very expensive days that we're involved in right now called fair share. We're crisscrossing the tri-state, sometimes going to as many as three counties at one time in three states. And then back again, because this is where the residence is. This is where the people are staying. This is where the what we call ready rooms are with the showers and the facilities and the three A-frame dorms where they are staying at night. And so we need God to do what He can do in making it possible for us to keep on going with the gospel. And so we're asking the Lord to give us 250 people who will give between $1 and $250 now. Somebody's already given it 250. Somebody's already given the $1. But there are lots of opportunities in between. And it's so neat to watch people say, "Well, I want to do this or this is what I want to give. And this is what I can do." And so why don't you pray about making an investment in the youth of today, the world of tomorrow, by giving to God through Triple T Christian Youth Ministries. Every $10 helps us reach one more with the gospel. And we're going to be reaching hundreds this summer. We already have reached lots and we're going to reach more and more and more as God brings people in to connect with us at the fairs. So you can have a part. Again, our address is Triple T. 13,000. That's one, three, triple zero. U.S. Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana, 47725. Why don't you do this? Why don't you send at least $10 or a multiple of that? Like $20 or $50 or whatever God leads you to do. But at least $10 and have a part of being one of these $250 to give between $1 and $250. We believe it's going to happen. It's already coming together as this person and that person and the other person says, "Yes, I want to participate." Pray, because prayer is the most important thing any Christian can do. But remember, you can't buy your way to heaven. You can't earn your way to heaven. It's the free gift of God. You turn a life through Christ Jesus. It happens when you admit you've sinned, when you believe on Christ, when you're willing to stand up and be counted for Him. Confessing with your mouth, the Lord Jesus. So will you? If you haven't, you can. I hope that you will understand that we are here for you. And even if you're no longer a teenager or if you're not one yet, every first Saturday we have an event for kids from first grade right up through fifth grade. And every Saturday night, sixth grade on through seniors in high school and in the college. And we want you to know that their invitation is here. And if you're an adult, hey, you can come too. You can observe it. You can check us out. Or you can even bring some kids. We hope you will. And we hope that you will understand that there is an opportunity for us to connect together to reach more people than we could if we are not connected. We're praying about outreaches in these counties this fall. We're putting together some things that we believe is going to impact. Community after community. And we believe that God is going to use something very, very special. We want you to know all about what's happening. And so, again, you can come any Saturday night, like tonight. Meet Todd Burton and his team. And watch some basketball happenings that are pretty exciting. And be involved as he does the basketball clinic. Whatever happens, pray and know God loves you. Christ through you can change the world. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. You are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T. 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area.
