Telling The TRUTH

[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President, George Dumes. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, your sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4.8, New King James Version. Very, very precise in concise information, straight from God's heart to yours, and mine, through James to us. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Are you drawing near to God? Do you know how to do that? One, pray. Talk to Him. Ask Him to give you guidance and direction. Thank Him for everything He has done for you. Secondly, read God's Word. Let God speak to your heart through the Scriptures. Thirdly, fellowship with other believers, not fellowshiping Christians, but Christian fellowship around the Word of God, and then go. Go to share your faith in Jesus Christ with those who need the Lord. When you do these things, you will draw near to God, and you will stop being double-minded. You will have a single purpose to reach people for the Lord Jesus Christ, to help them see the opportunity of getting their lives in tune with Him. Are you willing to do this? Are you willing to draw near to the Lord? To cleanse your hands? I hope you are. I hope you will. I know you can. Listen, as God says something very special, it helps us to know what our lot in life should be regarding our thinking about ourselves. James 4-10, New King James says, "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." Being conceited doesn't help anyone, not you, not me, not anyone. But if you will humble yourself, if you will understand anything and everything you are or can be, or even hope to be, comes from God, it's not you, it's Him. God will make you usable. He will use you. He is entrusted to you a whole lot of things, opportunities, responsibilities, talents, potential, but give it to God. Humble yourself and say, "Lord, make me usable and use me." When you do this, not comparing yourself with others, but only by standing in the shadow of God's wonderful love, you by praying, reading God's Word, and having fellowship with other believers can determine what you should do to glorify the Lord. So, humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. You can be uplifted today. Be ready, something great's about to happen. James 4-17, New King James Version, lets us in on a very special word from God. So many people think that what they do can be the most devastating thing in the world, and a lot of sin is the sin of commission, the sin of doing things that are not right, but there is also the sin of omitting, not doing what you ought to do. Listen to this very special word from God's Word. Therefore, to Him who knows to do good and does not do it, to Him it is sin. So be sure that you are doing what you are supposed to do, when and where it should happen. Get your heart in tune with the Lord, and your mind will follow God through every door that God opens for you to go with the gospel to people who need the Lord. Read the Word of God. Pray constantly, consistently, always being in an attitude of prayer. Pray with other believers, and pray for those who need the Lord. God can make you usable, and He can use you if you do what's right, and don't neglect to accomplish what God would have you do. What He would be pleased for you to do for Him. Remember, when you go with the gospel, people's hearts and lives and circumstances are rearranged. Waiting on the Lord is difficult, but it is an absolute necessity. Listen to James 5-7, New King James Version. Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth? Waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter reign. You see, God is going to do something special, but He's not going to rush it. Many, many times we want it now. We want it today. We don't want to wait until tomorrow. But when you plant, you have to wait until the seed does what it's supposed to do. There are several things that have to happen before the seed bears fruit. The same is true with you and me. God will make us usable, but we have to saturate ourselves with the Word of God. We need to read the Word of God in order to heed the Word of God. And when we do this, when we prayerfully pursue answers in the Scriptures, when we have fellowship with other believers, when we diligently determine to take the gospel to someone who doesn't know Christ, wonderful things happen and the fruit comes forth. So we're to keep on sowing, and someday, in God's own timetable, we will reap what we've sown. You also be patient. Establish your hearts for the coming of the Lord is at hand. James 5.8, New King James. Being patient is probably the most difficult thing for me to try to accomplish, but I know that God tells me to do it. How about you? He wants us to establish our hearts, to make certain that we are firm in our commitment to a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, to know that when we say, "Into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus, he will come. He will indwell you. He has indwalled me. He will be with you wherever you go as he is with me." The coming of the Lord is at hand. The Bible says, "We do not know the day, the season, the hour, the moment, the year, the decade, but we do know that we are to do what God says to do, to be patient, to establish our hearts, and to wait. Waiting is so difficult, but so, so imperative. Wait on the Lord, but don't wait so long that you forget to do what you're supposed to do for His glory. Pray, read the Word of God, fellowship with others, and then take the Gospel to those who need the Lord Jesus. Wait, but go. My brethren, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord as an example of suffering and patience. James 5'10, New King James Version. Prophets, people with potential, people with a message from God, people who have bumps in their road, just like you and I are hitting in our roads, suffering, difficulties, devastations, but drawing closer and closer to the Lord. God has a plan for you today. There is something that you can do that nobody can do quite the way you can do it if you will do what God wants you to do. Begin with praying, Lord, what do you want me to do? Thank you, God, for the potential you have given me to serve you. Help me, Lord, to do what I am supposed to do, to say what I'm supposed to say, to be with whom I am supposed to be. And then look into the Word of God. Why not take time to read the whole book of James? It's interesting, it's intriguing, it's inspired, and then know that there will be some suffering from time to time, difficulties, but be patient because God isn't through with you yet. God has something for you to do for His glory. Take the gospel to your world. Take it today. Moving forward, going together toward tomorrow is what we are endeavoring to do as a ministry. Our theme verse, the verse that motivates me and those working with me, is 2 Timothy 4.5. But you be watchful in all things. Enduroflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. It's a great verse except for that little phrase, "endure afflictions." Listen to James 511, New King James Version. Indeed, we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord, that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. God will do the same for you if you will be faithful to Him, if you will humble yourself, if you will be patient as patient as possible. God will make you usable and use you. God wants to, but it's up to you to make yourself available to Him. Will you on this very day say, "God, here I am, send me and go where He wants you to go and say what He wants you to say to the persons that He wants you to reach for His glory?" This is the word of God, pray, fellowship, and share this day. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. It's always a real delight to have a special guest. And boy do we have a special guest today. We call him Cowboy Lee, Cowboy Lee Himoki. Lee Himoki grew up on an Navajo Indian reservation in Arizona. His father, known as Nevada Steve, was an expert with ropes and whips, and a trick writer, appearing with many movies, especially with Tom Mix. Tom Mix was my boyhood hero, my little boyhood hero. And he was with other cowboys and western stars. And Lee's dad came to Christ and became a missionary to the Navajo's. He taught his son the art of roping and using whips, and Lee uses his skills to share the gospel graphically and effectively. We've had some wonderful times here at Triple T. He'll be with us tonight. And then next Thursday, Friday, Saturday. It's Hosanna Highway, 727 each evening. You're invited to come and bring people, and then invite some more people to bring people, and then invite those people to invite people to bring people. And let's see how many can come from where you live on either Thursday, or Friday, or Saturday, April 5, 6, or 7. 727 right here at Triple T. Well, Lee and his wife, Darlene, and Mary, and myself, and Tammy, and Shelley have been out among them. And we've had the privilege of sharing the gospel, and Lee has done a wonderful job of just communicating God's love and has a great rapport with kids. And I want you to listen to him personally now, as he talks about growing up on Navajo Indian reservation, and what's happened to him since. So, Leah Moki, it's great to have you as our guest. Let's tell the folk about your growing up days. All right, thank you, George. Yes. Let me say that wasn't anything quite like it. It was a wonderful experience, wonderful, wonderful, precious memories. And it is true. My dad was an unusual man, a very talented man. He had been in show business most of his life, and then one day he met the Savior. And that changed not only his life, but it changed our life. Dad had been a professional cowboy. In 1922, he had won the world's championship calf-roping. And in 1921, the world's championship bronch-riding. And I like to tell that because that sort of explains why I do what I do. My dad was a professional. I certainly am far short from what you would call a professional, but when we were children, that's the way we played. I didn't think there was anything special about it. It was just horses and cows and sort of a wild, free kind of a life. And along with it came the use of ropes and, of course, the whips. And those are tools. They're cowboy tools. And we lived 35 miles out on the reservation, 35 miles from the closest trading post. And there wasn't much to do to entertain yourself. So when you'd worked all day long, what did you do? You took the same tools that you'd worked with, and you learned to play with it. And, of course, what I do, I call it the cowboy at play. And the cowboy learned to use the ropes and whips to play and entertain himself. But along the way, I felt you know my dad was a good witness for Christ. He never missed an opportunity to tell somebody about Christ. And I never considered myself a professional, but I could do what my dad did. Dad used every opportunity to tell people about Christ. So I learned to attach gospel significance to everything that I do. And I really mean it when I say, and people think it's a little strange, but I can't tell people what Christ did in order to save us. I can't tell the details about how Jesus saved us without talking about ropes and whips. And so I used the ropes to illustrate salvation. And I used the whips too to illustrate the consequences of sin. And it's been, by the grace of God, it's been a very effective way of attracting people's attention, and I've had a wonderful time with triple T and being able to influence boys and girls. I don't think there's anything that we could do. We could invest ourselves for time or a talent in anything better than influencing boys and girls. And I've just had a wonderful week with George, and we're anticipating another week. And so thank you, George, for asking me. You don't want to get me started with all these stories. It'll take a long time. Well, we don't have that much time, but I'll tell you what, we are going to let them know where we're going to go. Lord willing tonight at triple T, 727, right here, and you'll see Lee using his whips tonight in a very special way. And then Sunday night, 627. We're going to be at Faith Bible Church in Olney, Illinois. And then next Tuesday, 627, we'll be at the Scott Township General Baptist Church right down the road just off of highway 41 from triple T. And on Wednesday, we'll be on the west side of Evansville at Howell General Baptist Church. And again, it's great to go out there among them. And to share the Gospel with Lee, and the way he uses his ropes and his whips, and communicate so very effectively. The other thing that we're going to do is have him here each night during Hosanna Highway. I mentioned a while ago, I want to mention it again. It is Thursday, good Friday, and Easter Eve Saturday, April 5, 6, and 7. Here at triple T, we're located four miles north of the airport, four miles south of Interstate 64, Highway 41 at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between Evansville Regional Airport and I-64. And you're invited to come and bring friends and friends, friends, any one of those nights, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, or even at night if you want to. And one of the things I want Lee to talk to you about, if we've got just a couple of minutes, is to let you know about his cowboy camps. In the summertime, he takes a team of teenagers, and he goes out and does stuff in several different venues. I know one's going to be in Missouri, and I don't know where the others are going to be, but you can tell us in what's happening this summer with your cowboy camps. Well, that really gets me excited, and I'm glad to tell you. We have a cowboy camp in Bangor, Michigan, and we call it Sunshine Ranch, and that's spelled S-O-N, Sunshine Ranch, because we want to emphasize the fact that God and cowboys do the very same thing. And we have another cowboy camp in Missouri, in a place called Livonia, Missouri. And this is where we bring what we call wannabe cowboys. Cowboys and cowgirls, and every boy and girl is acquainted. They're given opportunity to be with a horse, their own horse, for a whole week. They learn to take care of the horse, to groom the horse, to ride the horse, and for the advanced kids, for those who've been around and learned something about horsemanship, we do teach them roping and riding. And then, of course, the reason we do it is, yes, we want to have fun, and yes, we want them to appreciate and enjoy the horses and horsemanship, but we want them to know the Lord Jesus. And so, we do. We spend considerable time teaching them about the Lord Jesus, and it's always. I've never had a bored girl. I've had them come and cry because they were coming, and they didn't want to come, but I've had them cry because it was time to leave. So, it's a great joy to not only see the kids that love a horse and enjoy the cowboy activities, but to come to know the Lord Jesus and have their lives changed. It is a wonderful, wonderful privilege and blessing. If you all want to know more about the Cowboy Camp, you can contact us here at Triple T, and we'll get information to you. You might have a wannabe cowboy there, or you might be used to being a cowboy, but we'll be delighted to let you know where it's happening and when it's happening. And again, be praying with us and for us as we continue to go with the Gospel with Cowboy Lee and the Triple T team as we go out to all of these different venues, and especially here, this coming week on the Good Friday, night before it, Thursday, night after it, Easter Eve. 727, April, 5, 6, and 7, and you're invited. Now, Lee's been talking about knowing Jesus, and if you don't know Him, here's how you can. Admit that you've sinned, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and then stand up and be counted with Him. If you'll confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved with the heart and one believes to righteousness, with the mouth confessions made to salvation. It's really interesting, every Saturday night, we share the Gospel, we share those verses, and it isn't at all a surprise when half of the audience is quoting those verses with us because they have been trained in pyravangelism. We're also training adults as what we call coaches, and we have an ongoing impact here at Triple T, and you're invited to come any day that we're here, and we'll take you on the tour and let you see the ongoing happenings, the continuing story of youth evangelism in America for 1931, right on to the day, and then projecting on to the future. Again, we're delighted you're listening, we want you to have a Bible. It's free, and it's for you, and you can have one just by calling us, or coming tonight, or any night during Hosanna Highway, or writing us a letter. You've got the address coming your way at the end of the broadcast. Check our website, tttchristianyouth.org. We also are praying for adult youth workers to serve as key Tiger team coaches, mentoring and encouraging youth in their communities. Key means K-E-Y, evangelizing youth, and more and more churches are having people come for the training and are being involved with us, and we're excited about that. Number four is qualified drivers and chaperones to provide transportation and leadership for Triple T Saturday nights and our other events. Tools, we're praying for a large digital sign on U.S. 41 right here on Triple T property. Did you know that between two and 3,000 high school and junior high students passed by on school buses every single day, twice a day, once going north to north high school, once going south back into the Evansville area? We need to have you pray that God will provide this very special tool to get the gospel to people. We're praying for three new 7-8 passenger minivans, like the ones they make up the road at Toyota. Toyota, Sienna, three of those would be fantastic as we go to the county fairs all over the tri-state, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. And then we're praying for video audio, a system for the entrance in Triple T's into two snack shop areas and into the game room. Then we're asking God to bring His people to help the tasks happen. Electric and plumbing repair. We've just put brand new lights in all of the auditorium light fixtures. And what a difference it makes. And we're having great things happen as we're preparing for Joseana Highway, getting the stage rearranged and the curtains rearranged. And it's just great. Then we need someone who will paint the 60 passenger buses and affix the Triple T identification banners and someone to pave the drives in the parking lot. And whatever happens, we're rejoicing always. We're praying without ceasing. And everything we're giving thanks, but this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you and for me. We're hoping that this whole travel-and-tiger bus fleet will be off and running again. First one, then two, then three, used school buses driven by caring volunteers, transported teenagers to Triple T's Saturday nights, 1969 through 1984. The first bus was based in Posing County, Indiana, the second Richton County, Illinois, the third-based at Triple T and was used over in the west side of Evansville. The one that was based in Olney would come through Lawrenceville, Albion and Mount Carmel, and in Princeton. We're delighted about what God has done, but now we're praying for this to happen again and again and again. God has graciously provided two 60-passenger Bluebird diesel buses to Triple T through teen missions. They arrived and they're here, and they're ready now to be painted and driven. But what we need most is people first to pay them and then to get the right licenses to drive them every Saturday at Triple T and then out across the tri-state between Saturdays. Will you pray about this? We'd like for you to be a prayer partner and a share partner. You can be a tiger teammate. We invite you to send just $20 or more to TTT. $13,000, that's 1-3-0 U.S. Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana, 4-7-7-2-5. I'll repeat.
