Telling The TRUTH
021112 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dumes. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, but do not forget to do good and to share. For with such sacrifices, God is well-pleased. Hebrews 1316, New King James Version. God wants each one of us to understand that doing good and sharing our attributes that are God-given. I hope that you understand the necessity of investing your time, your talent, and your treasure for God's glory. Only one life will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last. For me to live is Christ, and Paul added, "And to die is gain." What are you doing today? Are you doing something to glorify the Lord? Are you moving in the direction that would please Him? Is your sacrifice to God pleasing to Him of your time, your talent, and your treasure? Are you taking time to pray? Are you taking time to read God's Word? Are you taking time to fellowship with other believers? Are you taking time to take the gospel to people who need the Lord? Are you concerned? Are you diligently moving in the direction that God would be pleased to have you to go? If you are, God can make you usable and can use you to make an impact. Listen to Hebrews 1317, New King James. "Obey those who rule over you and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you." What God is saying here is, "Make certain that you are not disobeying laws." Make sure that you are really respecting those people in authority. Understand that God has put them there. You might not like them. You might not appreciate them, but they have a position that God could have taken away, but rather He allowed to happen. So you must give an account. Let them serve with joy and not with grief. In other words, don't criticize so consistently that they don't have the joy of service. The Bible says that it would be unprofitable to you. How? Because God is indeed in charge of all of our affairs. What we need to do is submit to God, flee from the devil, and He will flee from us. How do we resist Him? How do we do that? By serving God, by praying, by reading the Word of God, by sharing with other believers, by praying together for those who don't know the Lord, and then by going with the gospel and sharing God's plan of salvation. Will you? Listen to what Paul is saying. Identify with Him. Can you say something like this yourself? Pray for us, for we are confident that we have a good conscience in all things desiring to live honorably. Hebrews 1318, New King James Version. Having a good conscience. Do you? Do I? Have you done something or said something that is displeasing to the Lord? Have you hurt somebody else by your words, by your thoughts, by your actions? Are you living honorably in all things? I hope so, and I know that you can. How? By praying, God make me usable and use me, by reading the Word of God and hitting the Word of God, by doing what the Bible says to do when, where, and how you should. God wants you to pray. He wants you to talk with Him. He wants you to pray for others, and He wants you to fellowship with other believers, and together He wants you to strategize ways to get the gospel to unbelievers. There is a job to be done. There is a world to be won, and you personally can make an impact for God's glory, if you will. The question is, "Will you?" So you have to answer the question, "What could I do if I would do what I should do?" What you are about to hear sounds like a paradox. It sounds like an impossibility, but it isn't. It's in the Word of God. James chapter 1, verse 2, New King James Version. "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials." How can that be so? How can you call it joy when you're having difficulties, when you're having people problems, when you're having a lack of whatever it takes to do what you think you ought to be doing? How can you have joy? Well, because you can give God the glory. Joy works this way. Jesus first, other second, your self last. Make certain that you are lifting Jesus high, that you are putting others in the proper position of respect and honor and concern. Pray for people who need the Lord. Pray with people who are believers. Together read the Word of God and then do what the Word of God says to do. Jesus said go. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone everywhere. Are you doing that? Are you sharing your faith in Jesus Christ? If indeed you are a believer? I hope you are. I hope you will. I know you can. Be careful when you pray for patience. Listen to James 1, 3, New King James. Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. Have you been tested lately? Is your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ intact? Do you believe that God is going to supply every need that you have? Is it really a need or is it just a wish or a want? My God just supply all of your need according to His riches and glory by Christ Jesus. That's a promise to every real Christian. Do you believe that? Is your faith producing results? Is it producing patience? Are you waiting on the Lord or are you rushing ahead of Him? Are you saying Lord I need this now? I needed it yesterday. God knows what you need. He knows when you need it. He knows why you need and what you really need. God wants all of us to be drawn closer to Him. He wants us to fellowship with Him in prayer with other believers and then to be concerned for those who don't know the Lord. Read the Word of God consistently and let Him speak to you. Then share your faith in Him with others. Are you ready to tell somebody today about Jesus? You can make an impact where you are. But let patience have its perfect work that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing. James 1-4, New King James Version. Patience, perfect work that you may be perfect and complete not lacking anything. Well, that's what the Word of God says. Patience does have virtue. When we wait on the Lord, He will give us ultimately the desires of our heart if we delight ourselves in Him. If we serve Him, if we pray to Him, if we thank Him for everything that comes our way, good, bad, indifferent. If we praise Him for the people He puts into our picture. If we read His Word and do what His Word says. If we have fellowship with other believers, if we are concerned about those who don't know the Lord, God can help us be complete through Him and not lack anything that we really need. Go to the Lord, ask Him to make you usable and use you to reach others for Him today. Do you know the plan of salvation? Are you ready to make an impact? Impact means I must personally advance Christianity today. Then ask yourself two questions, if not I who, if not now when. Wisdom is a gift that only God can provide. Do you have the wisdom that you need today to cope with whatever you are facing? Listen to James 1-5, New King James Version. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to Him. That's why daily prayer time is needed and it should and could be yours to do. Wisdom is necessary to cope with whatever is happening in our world, to know how to respond, to know how to react, to know what to say and what to do. God has a plan, a perfect plan for your life. It's something for you to do that nobody can do except you the way you could if you will do what God wants you to do. So ask Him to give you wisdom to know and do His will. I hope you will understand that God really does love you. Jesus died so you could live. He was buried and he rose again and he now intercedes at the right hand of God the Father for everyone who believes on Him. He wants you, He wants me to ask for the wisdom that He can and will provide. Pray. Read the Word of God and watch God work wonderfully. The Book of Proverbs has been called the Book of Wisdom. Read the Word of the Day and let God speak to your heart. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, Midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15, 5758, New King James Version. God's blessings were apparent at Triple T's 46th birthday and the 2401st consecutive Saturday, February 4. It featured photos and video clips on the big screen providing a trip down memory lane. Day Swanbox testimony via video was especially meaningful. The Traveling Tiger's action song "God's Got an Army" 902 Saturdays earlier is still very effective. Keep praying for funds for a large digital sign along US-41 on Triple T property. It can reach hundreds of North students and more every day with the Gospel and Triple T updates. Did you know that over 2,000 high school and junior high students travel by Triple T Monday through Friday every single week? And we are very thankful for every person who helps the mission get accomplished. It was significant that Bob Bland from Teen Missions International asked us to partner with Teen Missions at the Winter Jam booth at the Ford Center in Evansville. We reconnected with many Triple T alumni, pastors, and friends. It was a great, great night, and we were thrilled as the Gospel was presented intelligently, enthusiastically, and scripturally. And we were also delighted to see the technique that was used of a very modern way to have people responding to the invitation on their cell phones and get an immediate answer by email. Partnering with other ministries proved to be very effective. And of course, it's always difficult when family members and friends of long-standing go to their heavenly reward. Pray for all those left behind, and pray for many still struggling physically, financially, and spiritually. Tell us how to pray for your needs. We care, and we thank God for you. Again, to give us a prayer request, just write to us or send us an email. The email address is you can even send it to George@ttchristianyouth.org and I'll get it, and I'll pray for you. Tell us what your needs are, and we'll go to the Lord in your behalf. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report. If there's any virtue, if there's anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things, that's Philippians 4, 4 through 8, New King James. Did you know that 108 individuals received Tiger team pure evangelism and leading youth training in 2011? And key worker training and resources were available to several? We had over 100 evangelistic youth events in communities across the tri-state last year. 5,576 different 10 to 19 year olds heard a presentation of the Gospel with an invitation to respond to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and several did. We call it the bank corner because there are banks all over the place except for Triple T on our corner. Did you know that 464 people made decisions for Christ and were prayed with personally by a youth or youth worker who would receive peer evangelism training through Triple T last year? Hosanna Highway was put together by students who worked with adult coaches to creatively and effectively present the gospel by writing, filming and presenting an original drama and video production before Easter. And it's happening again and this afternoon at 3 o'clock begins the very first brainstorm session and communications determining what's going to happen when and by whom. Stay tuned as we share with you some more wonderful information about what God has done, is doing, and wants to do. He wants you to be a Tiger Partner. He wants you to be a Tiger teammate. Or he wants you if you're young enough to be a Tiger. A Tiger is a person who is a teenager. Teens involved, going, evangelizing regularly.
