Telling The TRUTH
020412 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dumes. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines, for it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. Hebrews 13.9, New King James Version. There are a lot of strange doctrines. They vary, but they're out there. So be very careful that your heart is established by grace. For by grace are you saved through faith. That none of yourselves, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Don't be carried away with the whims of the day, but be careful. Be prayerful, and be solid in your faith. Put your faith completely, absolutely, in Jesus Christ. Son of God, God the Son. Pray with others, pray for others, read the Word of God, heed the Word of God, and then share the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember, salvation is by grace and faith alone. You can't work for it. You can't earn it. You can't buy it with an inheritance. It is given to you by faith. Do you have a personal altar? Where is it? What is it? As a child, I would hear people talk about the family altar, and I wondered what that meant, where it was. I later realized it was not a place, but it was a circumstance of getting together with the family to pray and to read God's Word. Since that time, a family altar has been a part of our family, an intimate time of relating to the Lord, letting Him speak to us, letting Him hear us talk with Him, thanking Him and presenting to Him our needs and our petitions. Hebrews 1310, New King James Version, says, "We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat." That's a complex way of saying, yes, there is a difference between the true believer in Jesus Christ and others who have rituals. God wants you to know that He cares about you wherever you are, whoever you are. So go to your altar. Pray with your family. Read the Word of God together. And then go out and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are people waiting for you to tell the truth. There is a great parallel between the Old Testament tabernacle and the New Testament relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 1311, New King James Version, says, "For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp." There is a time and a place for everything. When those animals were sacrificed, they were left outside, and the blood that was brought inside by the high priest had a very special happening, a special sacred occurrence. Now we know that the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses us from all sin. God wants you and me to know that because Christ died for our sins, we have an advocate with Him if we will trust Him. Right now He is interceding at the right hand of God the Father. So you can pray to Him. You can read His Word, the Word of God, and then you can take the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to a world in need, person by person. Circumstance by circumstance, event by event. All the time you are going with the gospel, saturate every action in prayer. It is absolutely astonishing how the Bible fits like hand in glove, verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book, Old Testament to New Testament. Hebrews 1312, New King James, says, "Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate." That's the way God ordained it. The blood of Jesus Christ was shed for your sins and mine outside, on a hill called Calvary. And yet because it was shed you and I have the privilege of responding to God's love by trusting Jesus Christ as our forgiver. By allowing the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse us from all sin, every shortcoming, all of our unrighteousness. What about you? Are you rightly related to God through a relationship with Jesus Christ personally? Are you praying with other believers? Are you letting God speak to you through His Word? Are you taking the gospel that Christ died for our sins, that He was buried, that He rose again on the third day to the people for whom you are concerned? You can do it, but you have to pray and then get up and go. Will you? It is not necessary, nor is it even wise for you to believe that a certain building is the only place to go to pray, to worship, to be with God. Listen to Hebrews 1313, New King James Version. Therefore, let us go forth to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. God wants us to go where He is, not where we wish He was, not where we think He ought to be. God wants you and me to go to people outside a relationship with Jesus Christ, to help them come inside God's love, inside the circle of believers in Christ. How does this happen? When you pray, when you read the Word of God, when you fellowship with other believers, and when you determine together to take the gospel to people who need the Lord? Who do you know who doesn't know Him, or who is having spiritual difficulties, at least from all outward appearances? Are you praying for Him or for Her? Are you willing to go to Him or Her with God's glorious good news? Are you willing to go outside the camp and tell people about Jesus Christ? I hope you will. It has been my opportunity and privilege to share with youth leaders and youth themselves from coast to coast and border to border. We have a base of operation, but we continually go out and invite people to come in. Listen to Hebrews 1314, New King James Version. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come. This world is not my home, I'm just passing through. Heaven is my home, and I have been a citizen of heaven since the moment I said God, I've sinned, and I'm sorry. I want to be in tune with your son Jesus Christ, who died for me, who was buried, and who rose again. I want to receive your gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus, and I'm willing to tell other people I believe. So as a result, I have known that heaven is really my home. I am a temporary citizen here on planet Earth, but one day I will go to that place prepared for me. Jesus promised it, and I believe it. He said, "In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, where I am, there you may be also." Listen to Hebrews 1315, New King James Version. "Therefore by him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God." That is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Are you doing that? Be continuously offering a sacrifice of praise. What does that mean? It means you stop doing other things you would like to do, and you start praising the Lord from the depths of your heart in a meaningful way. Praise God. Speaking praises, singing praises, and sometimes shouting praises. The fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Thank God for who He is, for what He has done. Thank God the Father. Thank Jesus the Son. And thank God for standing the Holy Spirit to indwell you if you are a believer in Christ. Thank God for the privilege of serving Him. Bring praises to Him by the very essence of your life. Be praising Him as you share Jesus' plan of salvation. Tell somebody today that Jesus died and rose again and wants to give them life forever. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. Think these things. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say rejoice. Let your gentleness be made known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing. But in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate or think on these things. That's Philippians 4, verses 4 through 8, Nooking James Version. I want to share with you the 2011 vital statistics and highlights from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries. First, 108 individuals receive Tiger Team peer evangelism and leading youth training, and K-E-Y Youth Worker Training and Resources. K-E-Y stands for Keep Evangelizing Youth. Tiger means Teens Involved. Going Evangelizing Regularly. 100 plus Evangelistic Youth Efforts in communities across the Tri-State were conducted by Triple T team members. We were privileged to go to all three states, privileged to go to county after county after county, what a great, great, great year 2011 was for God's glory. Best news of all, 5,576 different teenagers at least, or they were between the 80s of 10 and 19, heard a presentation of the gospel was an opportunity to respond and personally believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Here's what they heard. They heard the fact that everybody everywhere has sinned. The challenge admit you've sinned for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life and Christ Jesus our Lord. They heard the challenge to believe on Christ. For God so loved, for God so loved the world, for God so loved the world that He gave, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. And then finally, to confess Christ publicly, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes under righteousness and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. When you turn to the Lord Jesus Christ from your sins and believe on Him, receiving God's gift of eternal life through Jesus, you have four opportunities, privileges, and responsibilities. This is what we have shared and what I want to share with you today. As a believer, you can pray anytime, anywhere, anyplace. When you pray in Jesus' name, God the Father hears you. You can find answers to problems of all kinds and direction for all of your tomorrows by reading the Bible and responding to the message in this holy, inspired, inherent, changeless Word of God. When you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you become a member of God's family. And you can find fellowship with other Christians by getting involved in a Bible-believing church, Sunday school, and youth group. The greatest way to grow in Christ is to share your faith in Him with your family and with your friends. And so that message has been shared with over 5,000 people last year, and it's going forward again this year. Week by week, already a month, and now into the whole wonderful series of open doors of opportunity before us in February, March, and April as we move forward. Over 2,250 youth received a personal New King James Version of the Bible and an information packet. And by the way, we have one of those for you. Three ways to get it. Number one, you can come tonight to Triple T. We're located four miles north of Evansville Regional Airport, four miles south of Interstate 64 on US-41 at Boomville, Harmony Road. Tonight, God willing, we're going to have a pizza party to celebrate 46 years of ministry since we first opened the door to two teenagers in our living room a long time ago on February 5, 1966. And so you can come and receive it personally tonight or you can call us. Erichode 812-867-2418, and number again, Erichode 812-867-2418. Tell us who you are and we'll try to make the connection. So you can get your free copy of the New King James Version Bible, especially if you're between the ages of 10 and 19, or if you know someone who is and you can present this to them personally. Best news, you can write. Our dress is TTT Christian Youth Ministries, or just TTT will do. 13,000, that's 1-3-0-0, US-Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana, 4-7-7-2-5. May I repeat, TTT, 13,000, US-Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana, 4-7-7-2-5, and ask for your copy of the New King James Bible. Here is a statistic that is thrilling to me and I hope will be to you. 464 individuals made decisions for Christ through TTT Christian Youth Ministries in 2011. They were prayed for personally by a youth or a youth worker who had received peer evangelism training through TTT. 464, headed for heaven. Members of God's forever family. What a thrill. What a delight. What exciting things God has done and is doing. I want you to know that He wants you and me to rejoice and to thank Him always. I want you to know also that we have some very special words of wisdom for you. Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. That's Psalm 37, 3 and 4, New King James Version. Let me explain what this means. Trust in the Lord. You need to know that when you trust God, when you invest your time, your talent, your treasure, in Him, He will repay you many fold. Do good. There are a lot of people that need help. There are people that need to have you pray for them. There are people that need you to go to them and let them know that God loves them and you care. Good news. When you do good, great things happen and then dwell in the land. Don't try to move someplace else. Stay where you are, doing what you should, reaching whom you can. And feed on His faithfulness. How do you do that? You read the Word of God. You let God speak to you. You then apply what God's Word says and you do it the way He wants you to do it. Delight yourself also in the Lord. What's that mean? Well, it means that you think about what God would be pleased to have you think about. Not only do you think about it, but you act on it. What would God have you to do? Are there people out there that you could reach out to in a very special personal way that nobody else could quite do the way you could do it? And will you do it? Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Somebody said, "Well, I want this and I want that and I want the other thing." Ask God to change your wantor. We've shared this before. I want to share it again. Your wantor needs to be in tune with God. Want what God wants and God will bless you and He will supply your need. The vision of Triple T Christian Youth Ministries is very, very, very profound. It's so far reaching that it's almost impossible to grasp how big the vision is. But I want to share it. Every youth to have the opportunity to hear the Gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before His or Her 20th birthday. Repeat that. Every youth to have the opportunity to hear the Gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before His or Her 20th birthday. Stay tuned and we're going to share with you the mission. The mission of Triple T Christian Youth Ministries, telling the truth to through teenagers, to win them to Christ and train them for Christ, teaching them how to share their faith through their local churches, on their campuses, throughout their communities, and into their world wherever God leads them in their future. Putting that into effect is really, really a pleasure. Last Saturday night, a young man was excited because he had invited friends and two of his friends came. He presented the Gospel as we always do every Saturday night, and one of those friends who had come for the second time to Triple T responded to the invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. He was prayed with personally and the next morning went to his local church and responded again to the invitation and the pastor asked him why he had come and he said because last night I was saved at Triple T, saved meaning believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, for by grace are you saved through faith. What a great thing it was for the young man who invited this friend and that's what we call telling the truth to through teenagers, to win them to Christ and then to train them for Christ. We have another training program coming up on the 18th of February and on that Saturday we're going to be teaching youth and adults pure evangelism, how to share their faith in Christ. We're going to work with some adults on how to coach youth, not to do it for them, but to help them get the job done themselves, like coaching a baseball team or a football team or a basketball team, they'll be coaching a youth evangelism team. We call it Tiger Team. Tiger means teens involved going evangelizing regularly. Well Triple T has top 10 needs, goals and hearts, desires and I want to share them with you now. Number one, people willing to pray daily, to join the 727 prayer team. We have over 400 people that every seventh of the month and 27th of the month receive a prayer email from us with scripture, with an invitation to pray, with responses and reports and it's so delightful to see that group grow. So number one, people praying daily. Number two, teammates, be willing to invest time, talent and treasure. A Triple T teammate, encourager, is a person who will give at least $20. And the first $20 anybody gives goes to provide a leading youth scholarship for a youth between the ages of 10 and 19 to be trained in peer evangelism and Christian leadership. The second level enlargers, people willing to pray and average giving $25 or more monthly to help us reach more and more youth with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The next level, expanders, people willing to pray and give an average of $100 or more each month and we have people in all those categories but we need a lot more in order to accomplish the vision. We need adult youth workers and that's number three of our top 10. To serve as key, K-E-Y means keep evangelizing youth, key tiger team coaches, mentoring and encouraging youth in their communities. The fourth of our top 10, qualified drivers and chaperones provide transportation and leadership for Triple T Saturday nights and our other events. Then we need tools, number five, a large digital sign at Triple T along US Highway 41. Over 100 school buses carrying students to and from North junior high and high school pass by Triple T every single day Monday through Friday. We need a sign that will give the message to them about who we are and what we can do for them and inviting them to be a part of all of this. Number six, three new seven eight passenger minivans. Number seven, video audio system for the entrance and the 32th snack shop areas, flat screen TV as they come in the door. Then we have task number eight, electrical and plumbing repair. Number nine, painting the 60 passenger buses and fixing the Triple T identification banners and number 10, paving the drives and parking lot. We want you to be praying about being a part of all this so write to us or call us, check the website, connect. Christ through you can change the world. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org.
