Telling The TRUTH
010712 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Earthly fathers have a great deal of responsibilities, and sometimes for a season, they really, really care. And they chasten us. But God is always there. Always willing to correct us when we need correction. Listen to Hebrews 12-10, New King James Version. For they indeed, for a few days, chastened us as seemed best to them. But he for our prophet, that we may be partakers of his holiness. God wants you and me to be holy. He wants us to do right, no matter what. He wants us to stop sinning and start serving. God wants us to respect our Heavenly Father ultimately. But to give respect while here on planet earth to our earthly Father, and if a Father, then the children. God wants us to be in tune with Him. He wants us to have a compassion for the people who don't know Him. Do you? Are you willing to reach out to folk and share God's Word with them and read the Word of God? Pray diligently to fellowship with other believers, and then to go with the Gospel through those who need the Lord. You have a responsibility and an opportunity. No one's going to force you to do it. But what a blessing you're going to receive when you do what God says to do, to go with the Gospel. Now, no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but grievous. Nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 1211, New King James. There you have it, the comparison between needing to be corrected and the lack of joy while it's happening, but the magnificent result when we yield to God, to His wonderful guidance and direction. What about you? Are you willing to be in tune with Him to the degree that you will say, "Lord, whatever needs to happen, let it happen to me"? Correct me when I'm wrong, guide me when I'm right, help me to know and to do your will. Are you praying diligently? Prayer is a magnificent opportunity for every believer in Christ. You can pray for yourself. You can pray for others who are believers, and you can pray for those who do not yet believe. God wants us to read His Word, and He wants us to do what His Word says to do, to go with His glorious gospel, to share with people who need the Lord. Are you doing it? Are you willing to do it? Are you going to tell people to admit they have sinned, to believe on Christ, to confess Him publicly, so that they can have life that lasts forever? There is someone who needs your help. There is another believer who really deserves you to move in and be assisting them in whatever ministry God has given to them. Listen to Hebrews 12-12, New King James Version. Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down and the feeble knees. In other words, there is somebody out there who is really almost exhausted, serving the Lord. They are doing things that are pleasing Him, but they are running out of steam physically speaking, and they need help. God wants us to be made usable and used of Him to serve Him by serving others. Who do you know who needs your help today? Someone who is serving the Lord who needs others to come alongside and lift up their weary hands and to give strength to them so they can keep walking and moving forward? I hope you will prayerfully consider going to someone today and be helpful. Be God's servant, will you? First pray, then read the Word of God. Have fellowship with other believers, and then tell God's glorious gospel. Go with someone who needs your help, and together go to someone else who needs your help. And being helpful, you can further God's glorious gospel. Will you? God's Word is very practical. Listen to Hebrews 12-13, New King James Version. And make straight paths for your feet so that what is lame may not be dislocated but rather be healed. Moving in the right direction, understand that you will stumble sometimes. You will falter, you may fall, but pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and go in the right direction on the straight path going the way God wants you to go with His gospel to people who need Him. Be prayerful, consistently, and be reading the Word of God every single day, and then be fellowshiping with other believers, and look for those who are hurting, and go out to help them. Go straight forward, don't go in a crooked line, or in a wishy, washing, namby, pamby way, but go with strength as God gives you guidance and direction. Ask Him to give you the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, working in you and through you and for you toward others who need the Lord. You can, if you will. Prayer is a magnificent privilege. Pray wisely. Pray diligently. Pray consistently. Pray now. And be willing to ask God to show you where to go, what to do, what to say, and to whom. Pursue peace with all men, and holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 1214, New King James Version. Peace. Peace must be pursued, must be sought after, and holiness comes from God. How can we be holy? In our own we can't, but with God's help and through the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit, when we have believed unChrist, then we have His righteousness. Our own is like filthy rags, but God's righteousness is available, and we are to put on the breastplate of righteousness, consistently, constantly. Holiness comes from the Lord. His righteousness is available now. Are you willing to be all God wants you to be? Will you pray today and say, "Lord, make me usable and use me, and then will you draw night of God?" Will you read His word? Will you pray consistently for yourself to be what God wants you to be, for others who are believers to work with you, and then to go with the Gospel to those who don't know the Lord and share the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ? Someone is waiting for you. Someone is waiting for you to go to them. Somebody wants to go with you to them. Will you pray? Will you pursue God's will? Will you do it? Listen to this very, very practical presentation of the race we are to run and how we are to run it to glorify God. Hebrews 1215, New King James says, "Looking diligently, lest anyone fall short of the race of God, lest any root of bitterness bringing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled." Do you understand what God is saying here? We are not to let other people adversely affect us. Put your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith and my faith, and don't look at the people who are disruptive and who are really disconcerting, but look to God and see the people through God's eyes not through your own. Understand that he loves everyone, and so don't be bitter, don't be angry, don't be upset because you have had an encounter with someone who hasn't been totally upright. Know this. God wants you to make sure that you are not causing trouble, that those who are won't be adhered to by you. Get it together with God. Pray. Read his word. Go where he wants you to go. Say what he wants you to say. Be what he wants you to be. God will make you usable if you are willing to be made usable and then used by him. Go with the Gospel. Be careful and prayerful, and don't sell yourself short. Let there be any profane person like Esau who for one morsel of food sold his birthright, Hebrews 1216, New King James Version. Don't yield to the temptation to take the shortcut, though that it might seem so easy just to fudge a little and kind of move in a direction that is not quite the way God would have you to go, but don't do it. Pray. Ask God to give you the strength to do right no matter what. Love people in spite of themselves. God uses all of us far more in spite of us than because of us. So read God's word. Do what the word of God tells you to do and then fellowship with other believers who also trust the word of God and together take the Gospel to people who need the Lord. There are those out there who are waiting now for you to tell them the truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father except by me." Who do you know who needs to know that? Will you pray? Will you go? God will bless you as you do. Go prayerfully. Go expectively. But go with the Gospel. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville in Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. You heard the song "Father Abraham had many sons?" "Many sons had Father Abraham." You were one of them and so am I. Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael. Isaac had two sons, Jacob and Esau. Esau sold his birthright, Jacob, conniving, manipulating, got it. But God allowed Jacob to become the very special person that he needed to accomplish his purpose. God always has a purpose and he will forgive when we ask for forgiveness. Jacob was a great repentor. He became Israel. And he had twelve sons, and those sons became the twelve tribes of Israel. And even today, we are having the aftermath of their influence worldwide. God has said in his word, "He has dispersed abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness endures forever." Let me share with you a couple of thoughts about that. He has dispersed abroad. God told Abraham he was going to multiply him like the sands of the seashore, like the stars in the sky. And it happened. And God has given to the poor and he wants us to do the same thing. His righteousness endures, not for a moment, not for a lifetime, forever. Listen to 2 Corinthians chapter 9 verses 10 and 11. Now, "may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food supply and multiply the seed you have sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. While you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God." Earlier, God's word says, "But this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." Let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all sufficiency in all things may have an abundance for every good work. When Mary and I were dating, we chose as our verse, and it has lasted a lifetime, Romans 8, 28, we know that all things were together for good. To them who love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. Being called of God means that you are willing to go, do, say, be, whatever he wants. Listen to his clarion call to you. God has a purpose for you. He has something for you to do that nobody can do quite the way you could do it if you would do what you should do, so you've got to get in tune with the Lord. The first thing you do is to give yourself to God. And then secondly, you give what God entrusts to you back to him to help others get the gospel. God wants us to be givers, not takers. There are two kinds of people in the world, the givers and the takers. And the givers will prosper, the takers will not. The takers will lose even what they have, because they are self-centered, and they haven't looked out at the needs of other people. The need to get the gospel to people is the greatest need there is. But if our gospel be hidden, it is hidden to those that are lost, those that are perishing, those that are dying without Christ. Jesus told us what to do. He said go. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. And I kind of add some things to that, to try to explain it to those teenagers and adults that work with kids that we work with. Jesus said go into all the world and preach, proclaim, proclamation, publicize, promote the gospel to everybody everywhere. And then there's a result that's reaped, and the word of the Lord was published, or being published throughout all the region from the Book of Acts. Listen to a very special portion of God's Word from 2 Corinthians chapter 10. It's very, very important that we understand that we are not to be lone rangers. Listen to this. We dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves, but they measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise. We, however, will not boast beyond measure. But within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us, a sphere which especially includes you. I'm going to stop for a moment and personalize this. Our sphere starts here at Triple T Christian Youth Ministries, the 30 acres, four miles north of Evansville Regional Airport, four miles south of I-64, just across the railroad tracks from Darmstadt. And putting the point of a compass there and stretching it down to the Tennessee Kentucky line up to Tarahote over almost a Louisville and one county this site of St. Louis. Within that 100 mile circle, in that sphere, there are 93 counties and in those 93 counties are 400,000 10 to 19 year olds. That's a bunch. And so we've got to reach them with the Gospel. Sometimes we wait and they come to us. We would never have dreamed that Evansville's biggest and newest school, junior high and high school, would move one mile north of us. But it happened and it's opened for business and the buses stream by every afternoon, taking kids back to their homes. They stream by every morning, taking them up to the north junior high and high school complex. Right here in our sphere, right in our neighborhood, right here within a mile of where Triple T was placed by God 46 years ago. God knew all the time that that was going to happen. We of course didn't, but he did. If we are not overextending ourselves as though our authority did not extend to you, for it was to you that we came with the Gospel of Christ. Not boasting of things beyond measure, that is in other men's labors, but having hope that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere. To preach the Gospel to the regions beyond you and not to boast in another man's fear of accomplishment. But he who glories let him glory in the Lord, for not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends. I want to be commended by the Lord, not by people. I don't want to be a people pleaser, I want to be a God pleaser. And I know that God wants me, George Dooms, to get on a microphone and to tell the good news of the saving power of Jesus to you who are listening. I want God to use us to expand and to reach out and to extend this ministry as far as possible, to enlarge and to expand everywhere we can, starting right where we are. We had a wonderful happening last weekend, it was called Light the Night, and I have to say that I've never ever understood how Mary can be so diligently involved. She was up all night, constantly serving the kids from 7.27 p.m. on Saturday evening, fixing a pancake breakfast, ending at 7.27 a.m. on Sunday morning. I am so delighted that God put us together and again, people much younger, people who could help just kind of stare or stay a long way away because they don't want to be involved, but she being the person that God has made her is willing to do whatever God has for her to do. And she is there with a great sense of humor, with a smile, and with a willing spirit to serve others. She has a servant's heart beyond most people that I've ever encountered. I thank the Lord for her and for connecting us so long ago. We have had a wonderful ministry together, and God has been glorified as people have come across the threshold, not only of our home, but here at Triple T Christian Youth Ministries. And she has reached out to literally countless hundreds and thousands of kids across these 46 years that we have been here. We thank the Lord for those that have come. What a delight it was to have nine different schools, high schools and junior highs and middle schools represented plus a bunch of homeschool kids for a light tonight. We're excited about tonight because tonight is the first Saturday of 2012, and you're invited to come tonight because it's going to be July and January. And guess what? We're going to have ice cream tonight, no matter what the temperature is, it's going to be a great, great evening. Stay tuned as we give you more details about ways that you can be involved. My daughter Tammy, who's the Vice President of Triple T, put together light the night, and she was every hour sharing one of the concepts from discover your destiny. It was our theme. Be a destiny discoverer. She had done this all through the year and then wrapped it up at light the night. She was assisted by Shelley Bernard with involvements and ice breakers and all kinds of things that happen in her actions. And Kim Foltz, with First Baptist Boonville, drove the van here with kids and then was involved in putting together videos that were enhancing those destiny discovering concepts. Both Pastor Richard Comer from Fort Branch Wesleyan Church and Zack Slater of Faith Bible Church in Albany were with us all night. They drove vans with kids and then they were even able to sneak out a few moments of time to put the finishing touches on their Sunday morning sermons. I am just amazed at the people God sends into the picture here. There are so many lazy people that are in so-called ministry. They just don't get it. We've had people who said, "Oh, I'm so busy. I couldn't possibly come on Saturday night because I've got to get my message prepared." And here were two guys who stayed with us all night long bringing van loads of kids, and this is not the first time they've done it. They're consistently involved. Kim and Richard have driven van loads of kids for the past several weeks, and Zack, living 85 miles away in Ollie, comes when he can, was involved with us this summer at fair share and plans to be again next year. And what a delight it is to meet people who are truly servants at heart and who care more about others than they do about themselves, and yet God blesses them abundantly as they have ministries that are multiplying. And that's the theme and the thrust of the 100 weeks that will begin, God willing, on January the 28th for a preview, actually a launch week, and then from the 4th of February of this year, all the way to December 28th of 2013, that 100 weeks will be following the theme, multiply your ministry. What a thrill it is to work with people who are willing to be made usable and used of God to reach people for Christ. We want to offer something to you. I haven't done this during the broadcast time. I've done it at the end. Or James has presented this announcement, but I want you to know that if you will call us or write us, we want to send you a copy of the New King James Bible. It's free. And to get yours right to TTT Christian Youth Ministries, 13,000, that's 1-3-0 U.S. Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana, 4-7-7-2-5, and we'll send you a free Bible. If you want to come by tonight, we'll give it to you personally. Or you can check the website and learn more about us. The web is TTTChristianYouth.org, or you can email us, and that is just email me, George@TTTChristianYouth.org, or you can call us. Here we go to 812-867-2418. Repeat 867-2418, and just ask for the Bible, and we'll get it to you, or you can come and get it yourself. We're hoping to get hundreds more Bibles out very, very shortly. Especially as we have this week of outreach between January 28 and February 4, and then thrust forward for the next 100 weeks following that. We're excited because of what God has done and is doing for all of those 450-plus people that have said yes to Jesus last year. We're anticipating that there will be many more this year. We're hoping to double the number of fairs that we go to. We were in 10 counties last year. We'd like to take teams to 20 counties this year, God willing. We have people that are already contemplating coming or praying about being involved. We'll be training, hopefully, 100 traveling tigers and 10 adult coaches that will be key members of the team, key adult coaches, key means keep evangelizing youth. Again, write us, or call us, or come by and pick up your Bible. We want you to have one. We want you to be praying with us and for us if you'd like to send something to help us reach more people for Christ. Great. You're invited to do precisely that. But meanwhile, understand that you have an opportunity to be involved for God. Christ through you can change youth. Every Saturday at 7.27 pm, you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport.
