Telling The TRUTH
111211 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of the heavens, Genesis 19, 24, New King James. God had promised that He would destroy the wicked city and the people in it. God wants you and me to grow close to Him. Draw night to God, the Bible says, resist the devil and He will flee from you. God has a perfect plan for you, but He needs you to be totally surrendered to Him. To be in His presence consistently, how? By reading the Word of God. Secondly, by praying, by talking with God. Thirdly, by fellowshipping with other believers in Christ, and fourthly, by sharing your faith in the Lord Jesus with those who need to know Him. Are you doing those four things? I hope you are. Read God's Word, pray, fellowship with other believers, and then take the gospel to a world in desperate need. Sodom and Gomorrah are no longer, and there are other places that have been destroyed. God is not going to tolerate sin, but He forgives the sinner. Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and He rose again on the third day. That's the gospel. Share it. Tell somebody today. The wrath of God is awesome. Listen to Genesis 19, 25, New King James Version. So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. Because of God's wrath, Sodom and Gomorrah are no more. What about where you live? What's going on in your town, in your community? Are you living for the Lord? Are other people there following God's leadership? Are you telling people who Jesus Christ is, and what He has done to come into the world to save sinners? Have you let them know that admitting that they have sinned by believing unChrist, by confessing Him publicly, that they can have life that lasts forever? Has that happened to you? If it has, are you telling other people how they too can be born again? God holds you responsible, not just for what you do or do not do, but for what you could do if you would do what you should do. So what you should do is to share your faith in Jesus Christ. If truly, you know Him. Have you a passion for people who don't know the Lord? Pray. Read God's Word. Fellowship of other believers and together go with the gospel to those folk who need Jesus. To disobey the Lord can bring disaster and death. God told Lot and his wife and his daughters not to look back, but to flee Sodom and Gomorrah. But listen to Genesis 19-26, New King James Version. But his wife looked back behind him and she became a pillar of salt. God will not tolerate disobedience. When he says do something, do it. When he says don't do something, don't do it. God's Word is quick and powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword. God's Word gives us the guidance that we need to follow the Lord in every aspect of our lives. God wants us to have a compassion for people who don't know Him. He wants us to reach out to them. He wants us to pray for them. He wants us to pray with other people. To read, to heed the Bible, and then go with the good news to those who need the Lord. Who do you know who needs to know Jesus? Are you concerned? Are you praying? Are you willing to go and share? I hope you are. I hope you will. Because God and you make a majority. God can use you. There is someone somewhere praying for you. In all probability, someone has a deep concern for you and your situation. Listen to Genesis 19-27, New King James. And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. Abraham was Lot's uncle. Abraham had prayed for a lot. He had pleaded with the Lord not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, and he kept reducing the number of people who were righteous that God could find there so he wouldn't destroy it. But there were not that many. So Lot and his wife and daughters escaped. His sons-in-law had turned their backs, and of course Lot's wife was destroyed because she disobeyed the Lord. God has something for you to do today. Maybe it's to pray for other people who don't know Christ. Maybe it's to go to them with the Gospel. Maybe it's to fellowship in a very intimate way with those persons you know and to read God's Word together. Then to determine to take the Gospel to the people that you know and that they know, who from all outward appearances don't know the Lord. Who do you know? For whom are you concerned? Who are you praying for? Will you go with the Gospel today? Abraham was concerned. He had done everything that he knew to do to please the Lord, and yet God was not able to find just a few people to save Sodom and Gomorrah as Abraham had asked. Now listen to Genesis 19-28 in the King James Version. Then he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the plain, and he saw and behold the smoke of the land which went up like the smoke of a furnace. Abraham saw what happened. Destruction comes when God promises it's going to happen. Be still. Pray. Meditate. Think on God's Word. Fellowship with other believers. Pray diligently for those who don't know the Lord. And then put feet on your prayers. Go tell them that Christ died for our sins. That he was buried. That he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. Let them know that if they will trust Jesus, their sins will be forgiven. They will have new life, perfect life, everlasting life. That's what God promises. John 3 16 tells us, "God so loved the world that he gave. He wants to give eternal life to those who will trust him." Tell them. And it came to pass when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt. Genesis 1929, New King James. Yes, God had answered Abraham's prayer for his nephew Lot. God will always hear and answer our prayers. The people for whom we are praying have to respond accordingly. God will never force anyone to get his or her act together with him. God is compassionate and God has done all that he needs to do to save sinners. Yes, Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He was buried. He rose again. But now we have to trust him. We have to turn to Jesus from our sins. We have to tell people how to do that if we have already done it ourselves. God has a plan for you, a plan to share the good news of the saving power of the Lord Jesus with family members and friends for whom you are concerned. Will you do that? Will you have compassion? Will you really, really today determine to go with the gospel? Someone is waiting for you to tell them that tremendous truth. Then Lot went up out of Zor and dwelt in the mountains and his two daughters were with him for he was afraid to dwelt in Zor and he and his two daughters dwelt in a cave. Genesis 1930, New King James, you cannot hide from God. You can try but God will always know where you are and he will find you and he will find you out. God wants you to be open and honest and forthright with him. Have you admitted you have sinned? Have you asked God to forgive you? Have you told other people how they too can become children of God by believing on the Lord Jesus? If God wants us to read his word, he wants us to pray diligently and he wants us to have fellowship with other believers and to strategically work out ways to get the gospel to the most people we can in the shortest possible time. God has a plan of redemption. He has done all that he said he would do. But now it's up to us to communicate Christianity to those who need the Lord. Who do you know who doesn't know Jesus or who is having spiritual problems? Will you go to them with God's glorious gospel? Will you do it today? Will you pray and expect God to answer? Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away reserved in heaven for you. That's 1 Peter 1, 3 and 4, the King James Version. Saturday nights continue to be exciting. Six Tri-State counties in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky were represented last Saturday. John Lewis from the Cincinnati area presented the gospel effectively using illusion, juggling and interaction with individuals from the audience. At least 13 publicly responded to the invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We're endeavoring to follow up each person. Partnering with local church pastors and youth workers, please pray. Prayers essential to every aspect of Triple T. We had people praying Saturday night publicly. Youth leaders, pastors, friends of youth. And we hope that you will understand that tonight is going to be special too. The harvest video is on the agenda for the feature. It's a true story. We've had the privileged Tammy and I have of meeting one of the people whose family's story is going to be shared in that video tonight. Pray too for many more to be trained before the in-bounds basketball outreaches with Coach Todd Burden from the Triple T team in December 5-10. We're excited about what's possible. Todd Burden is a friend of ours and has been for a long time. He was a player in the National Association of Christian Athletes and All-American Player and he was a coach in Division I for National Champions in the National Association of Christian Athletes. In-bounds ministry is his ministry that he founded and he's the head coach. We'll be tipping off each night, God willing. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning and Saturday night. There's going to be a free Bible for each 10 to 19 year old attending a Triple T in-bounds basketball outreach event. Multiplying by networking is a Triple T hallmark. What a delight it was to work with Triple T Alumnus de Swambach at Bethel Temple Community Church's Trunker Treat October 31, over 7,800 attended. Mary and I gave Bibles personally to 179 different people and hundreds and hundreds received invitations to events at Triple T and every one of those invitations had a copy of the billboard that said "Believe" on the Lord Jesus Christ. Again, networking with other ministries has kept us going and we have done that across the years and across the miles. One of the groups that we have worked with consistently in many, many situations is Child Evangelism. Did you know that this past summer, across the United States, Child Evangelism Fellowship ran over 6,500 evangelistic clubs called Five Day Clubs and more than 141,000 children attended. Over 23,000 professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The success of these clubs had a great deal to do with the committed and well-trained volunteers who led them. What is remarkable is that most of them were teenagers. More than 3,600 teenagers were involved in running these Five Day Clubs, many leading multiple clubs. These clubs are similar to the traditional vacation Bible school, meaning on a Monday through Friday for 90 minutes each day. The curriculum developed by educators at CEF headquarters in Warrenton, Missouri is well designed, engaging and thoughtful. It is also demanding of those who teach it. Those 90 minutes are packed. It starts off with 15 minutes of games designed to build relationships among the children and with the leaders followed by a song to get them focused. They are taught the rules of the club and then talk about a short phase of the day, such as a phrase of the day, such as do what's right. Then 10 minutes are spent working on a Bible memory verse and after another song or two, there's a 15 to 20 minute Bible lesson that includes a gospel message and how this lesson applies to life and invitations receive Christ as their personal Savior. There's even a mission time when they are told a missionary story. At the end they have a 15 minute time for a snack and to get to know those boys and girls better. It's a real interesting parallel because that's the format that we've been using for about 45 years and counting. Leading those clubs requires spiritual maturity, an interest in children and a concern for their souls. But the reason teenagers are particularly effective in this role is because children look up to teens and want to emulate them. Excellent preparation is also crucial to success. At the beginning of each summer, CEF runs a Christian Youth in Action training school. In almost every state, for one or two weeks, repair teenage volunteers to lead the five-day clubs. Teenagers as young as 14 who are interested in attending must provide, in their application, a testimony of their Christian faith and spiritual growth, as well as references. It's important for people to know that this is not a place to fix teens. It is meant for mature teens who take evangelizing children seriously. And according to participants called summer missionaries, they must commit to a significant memory work in preparation for the school. This includes mastering a presentation of the wordless book, an explanation of the Christian gospel through colors. The training schools provide the summer missionaries with a jam-packed time of instruction on teaching, counseling, and lovingly maintaining order, as well as providing spiritual discipleship to the missionaries and some great fun. The instructors are highly experienced and model every aspect of the club answering questions and mentoring the missionaries. Many of the demonstrations are done by experienced summer missionaries. During the practicums which follow the summer missionaries, receive detailed evaluations from the instructors. And while at the school, the summer missionaries learn public speaking skills and how to organize and outline materials to create a coherent presentation, how to deliver a fifteen to twenty minute Bible lesson presentation without notes, how to project one's voice and think on one's feet when dealing with the unexpected. These are skills that carry over into the rest of life. One of the things that we do is a very similar thing in working with teenagers, in helping them to ferret out their talents and to put into effect ways to communicate Christianity creatively. Last Saturday night it was really neat to have some very special kids put together some skits that were talking about what's coming in the days ahead. Even one ten year old was very, very effective in his sharing part. You're never too young to learn and we do start them now at ten and go all the way up to nineteen and then of course beyond that when they want to become involved in more intense leadership positions. God is wonderfully working in the hearts and lives of a lot of people. And prayer is the answer to the problem that we face. The big one, workers. Workers in God's harvest field. Matthew 938, New King James Version says, Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labors into his harvest. We thank the Lord for pastors and youth workers and parents and grandparents who bring youth to triple T Saturday evenings. We are so delighted that God has given us the privilege of training more youth and peer evangelism and adults to coach them. And as more come for the training the ministry can multiply. What God did in the early days of the church, you can see Acts 931. He can do again. Your prayers will help us move forward with God's glorious gospel. Our next leading youth day is coming up just in a week. Next Saturday it starts at 11.30 in the morning and goes through the rally that night. And those who want to come have got to register by the Thursday preceding that, which will be the 17th of November. And we hope that you will tell people about this opportunity to learn and to progress and to move forward, to share the gospel effectively. And we're trusting the Lord to give us a great harvest as we again partner with in-bounds basketball ministries and Todd Burden. Keep tuned. Stay in your listening position for more. Drupty Christian Youth Ministries is noted most for the Saturday night event. It starts at 727. A 727 jet airliner lands on the big screen and then it's tiger time. Tiger means teens involved, going evangelizing regularly. And after an intro and an icebreaker, an involvement that involves everybody doing something physical, then comes the inspiration time. One goes the very fast-paced evening that wraps up with a presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Peer evangelism training is once a month, and that is happening next Saturday here at Triple T, as I mentioned earlier. And then we do a thing called Project Proclaim, which utilizes every aspect of communications that we possibly can to get the gospel to people or people to the gospel. It's saturation evangelism, one-on-one sharing, Bible distribution, evangelistic youth efforts, public relations outreach, Internet, billboards, radio, television at times, newspaper stories, and print. And what of the light it is to see the gospel go forward, to watch the Lord do special things in the hearts and lives of people. Every Saturday at Triple T begins promptly at 7.27 p.m. People are always saying, "You mean 7.30?" No. 7.27. Sharp. And people who are late miss the intro. Miss the landing of the airplane. Miss the beginning of Tiger Time. Tonight, the movie The Harvest. Next Saturday, Tiger Team 3G Challenge Day, beginning at 11.30 a.m. registration by the preceding Thursday, the 17th. 3G stands for God's Global Go. Then, the next Saturday, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the 26th of November, thanks with turkey bowling. How do we do that? Well, you'll have to come to see it, to believe it. It's real, and it's fun. And then, on the 3rd of December, we're having Jesus' birthday party. Mary will again make a Jesus' birthday cake, which uses the Child Evangelism Wordless Book colors to present the gospel through a baked cake. It's a candle lighting situation and a delightful time. Then, on the 10th of December, Todd Burton and Inbounds will be here, God willing, wrapping up a week of outreaches. And right now, we are tentatively booked in Booneville, Indiana, and in Vincennes, Indiana, in Thelonia, Indiana, here at Triple T, and in all the Illinois for that week of outreach. Then, on the 24th, Christmas Eve, we'll have a candlelight happening with a free gift for everybody. Normally, we move up to where the whole thing began in our living room. Then comes light the night, December 31, New Year's Eve, beginning at 7.27 PM through 7.27 AM on New Year's Day, with everybody being challenged to go to their favorite Bible-believing church in Sunny School and Youth Group. July and January will be January 7 with a beach party, and then God willing. February 4 will be Triple T's 46th birthday celebration. You're invited to come to any and every one of these opportunities that you possibly can. In the summer of 2012, the Travel and Tiger Task Force will go out again, working with Teen Missions International, and going to as many fairs as we possibly can, taking the Gospel. And so, it's not too early to begin to pray and think about what is needed, adult leaders and teenagers, to reach out, present the Gospel to hundreds and hundreds of people, giving thousands of cups of cold water in Jesus' name, sending Bibles to 10 to 19-year-olds, and inviting those who will do it to take a survey about teenagers and then to respond to the Gospel, to admit that they have sinned, to believe on Christ, to confess Him publicly right then and right there at the fairs. Last year, again, we had many, many people that responded to the Gospel, and we trusted to keep on happening. We need you to be a prayer partner with us and a share partner. The first $20 that you give provides a scholarship for another 10 to 19-year-old to be trained in peer evangelism. Contact us, call us, or go to 812-867-2418, check the website, and know that God can use you. Christ through you can change the world.
