Today I am more aware than ever of my personal destiny. It's God-ordained, God-given. There have been times when I have been tempted to run ahead of the Lord or to stay way behind Him. What about you? Are you in tune with the Lord today? Are you doing what God wants you to do? Are you doing it with the people with whom He would have you to do it or to act? Yes, there is a plan. God has designed it precisely for you. Listen to Genesis 16-2, New King James Version. So Sarah, I said to Abram, see now the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go into my maid, perhaps I shall obtain children by her. And Abram heeded the voice of Sarah. Sometimes, the temptation suggested to you is from the most unusual sources. Husbands and wives sometimes tempt one another to do things contrary to the will of God. What about you? We want you to have a copy of "Discover Your Destiny." Then Sarah, Abram's wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband, Abram, to be his wife. After Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan. Genesis 16-3, New King James Version. Waiting a long, long time, sometimes longer than you think is possible, sometimes causes the tempter to come your way. Again, from very unexpected sources, even husbands and wives. But sin will find itself out and hear Abram sinned against God, listening to his wife, not waiting on the Lord. He took things into his own hands. It was a long time before he began to discover his destiny. God had a plan for him all along. He has a plan for you. I hope that you will not give in to the tempter that comes your way, whomever it might be. And I hope that you will understand that God's plan is revealed in His Word for you. We want you to know more about that plan. It's a book, "Discover Your Destiny." And it's yours free. All you have to do is write or call and it will be sent your way. In that book, there are insights from God's Word explained in a way that is very, very practical so that you can apply it to reach out to others for Jesus. Be very careful listening to someone who is tempting you. Sometimes it sounds so good, too good to be true, and normally that is precisely the case. Listen to Genesis 16-1 to King James Version. So we went into Hagar and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. Yes, you can think you were doing the right thing. Doing it the wrong way, your motives can be at first pure, and then when you give in to sin, it's not a good thing. Listen to Genesis 16-5, New King James Version. Then Sarah said to Abram, "My wrong be upon you. I gave my maid into your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lord judged between you and me." Yes, sin separates people. Love is a many splintered thing, but hatred sometimes is just a breath away. Don't yield a temptation. Don't give in, no matter who it is that is enticing you. Here we have two people, both Abram and Sarah together, plotted, planned to do the wrong thing, and suddenly both found themselves in a very despicable circumstance. There's a destiny that God has for you. It's very special. He wants you to be a faith-sharer, a Christian communicator, but do you know God's very special plan for you? Yes, sin continues to add difficulty after difficulty, to person after person. Be very careful. You never sin alone. Be prayerful. Talk to the Lord. Read His Word. [music] Thank you for listening to Telling the Truth. Have a personal question just for you. Have you received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior as your forgiver? Have you followed God's ABCs? Have you admit you've sinned? For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3.23. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6.23. Have you believed on Christ? For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3.16. Have you confessed Christ publicly? Romans 10, 9, and 10 says, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes under righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. When you turn to the Lord Jesus Christ from your sins, and believe on him receiving God's gift of eternal life through Jesus, you have four opportunities, privileges, and responsibilities. As a believer now, you can pray anytime, any place. When you pray in Jesus' name, God the Father hears you. You can find answers to problems of all kinds and directions for all of your tomorrows by reading the Bible and responding to the messages in this holy, inspired, inerrant, changeless Word of God. When you personally believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you become a member of God's family and you can find fellowship with other Christians by getting involved in a Bible-believing church, Sunday school, and if you're a teenager or preteen, a youth group. The greatest way to grow in Christ is to share your faith in him with your family, with your friends. Then, as a believer, God has something special for you. A lot of people think that this is the way to become a Christian. Now, this is the way to live as a believer. It's called God's top ten. Some people call it the Ten Commandments. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not take for yourselves a carved image. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. You shall not covet. Exodus 20, 3 through 17, the King James Version. God's top ten are far more than guidelines. They are commandments. Now you have the power to save yes to purity and no to premarital sex, alcohol, drugs, and tobacco. Here's how, as a believer, be all you can be for God's glory. Respond to the challenge of Romans 12, 1 and 2. I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Yes, God's plan is revealed in His Word. God has given me a passion to win youth to Christ. Will you focus on your passion? I hope that you will join us as communicators of the gospel to youth who need the Lord. We are part of an organization called Youth of Anzism Association. In the annual convention and youth workers' intensive training is going to be right here at Triple T, September 20, 21 and 22. Our whole thrust this year is how to impact your community for Christ. We have front lines in behind the scenes people with excited, effective experience that are going to be sharing. They're coming from all across America. Why? Today's culture is devastating younger and younger youth. Temptations abound. Absolutes are missing in action. Following John 3.16, that I just shared with you, the best known and most often quoted verse in the New Testament, Jesus continued, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned. But he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation that light has come into the world and men left darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they may be done in God." That's John 3.17 through 21, New King James. In Romans 5, 18 through 21 Paul explained, "Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one man's righteous act, the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification for life. For as by one man's disobedience, many were made sinners. So also by one man's obedience, many will be made righteous. Moreover, the law entered that the offense might abound, but where sin abounded, grace abounded much more so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord." What is Youth Evangeline's Association? It's a network of ministries to teenagers using a biblical approach to ministry, methods, and standards. Each affiliate is locally governed with the right to develop programs of evangelism as God directs, holding high standards of Christian separation, Bible teaching, and victorious Christian lifestyles. Local churches and inter-enominational ministries to teenagers affiliated with YEA use a variety of ideas and methods in a constant endeavor to reach teenagers effectively. YEA is aggressively evangelistic. The plan of salvation and an open invitation to publicly profess personal faith in Jesus Christ is included in public meetings. Bible believing. The inspiration, infallibility, and inerrancy of the Bible as the word of God is a foundation on which YEA is built. Church-centered. Local Bible believing churches are recognized as God's choice institutions worldwide. Involvement and cooperation with such churches is vital. When is YEA? 24/7. Whenever and wherever youth are. The vision is to challenge adults to coach, equip, and train youth to A) actively and responsibly reproduce the life of Christ with their peers. B) boldly share the gospel to win their unsaved peers to Christ. C) consistently study the Bible with a view toward spiritual maturity. Youth Evangelism Association annually conducts a convention and youth workers' intensive training conference. Including such topics as impacting your community for Christ, which is the theme that we are pursuing this year here at Triple T. September 20, 21, and 22. That's Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each evening we will have special events right here. Another subject is Foundations for Effective Ministry. Current Teen Issues. Peer Evangelism and Biblical Training. Public Relations. Raising Awareness and Funds. Youth Ministry Resources and Ideas. Enhancing Effectiveness through Technology. Developing a Leadership Team. Helping Smaller Church Youth Ministries Thrive. Where? Well, Youth Evangelism Association goes literally all across America through the evangelistic efforts of YEA affiliates, wherever and to whomever they minister. YEA is worldwide through Teen Missions International and other affiliates, going into 50 to 60 countries every year. Bible clubs have been established by Christian students in all 50 states, nine Canadian provinces, and several other countries since 1990, when the Supreme Court upheld the Equal Access Act. The goal is to have a Youth Evangelism Association affiliated interdenominational youth organization and our local church youth ministry affiliated in all 3,141 U.S.A. counties and then internationally. Youth Evangelism Headquarters is here on the campus of Triple T Christian ministries, four miles north of Evansville Regional Airport, four miles south of Interstate 64. Who is Youth Evangelism Association? Well, it's people with a passion to reach out to youth with God's glorious gospel. Five Directors of Evangelistic Youth Ministry co-founded Youth Evangelism Association in 1973. We're still going, and we hope that you can be a part of all this coming up in September. If you'll write to us, we will send you a brochure and information how you can be involved. We want you to know that there is an open door right here, right now, for you at Triple T, September 20, 21, 22. Stay tuned. ♪ Again and again and again as this broadcast started, we offered you a copy of "Discover Your Destiny." Have you decided now to call us or to write us and to get your very personal copy of this Christian classic? The contents are these, the image of God, the shattering blow, the divine initiative, the majestic person, the unspeakable gift, the proof, the surprising result, the personal involvement, then living like a king, the lingering problems, the price of personal development and destiny. This book could be very helpful to you. I hope that you will avail yourself of the opportunity of getting this. We want to send it to you. It's free. It is yours for the asking, but it could help you a lot. If you will simply take advantage of these pages and learn how you can now and discover your destiny, but how you can help a lot of other people discover theirs. Yes, God has a perfect plan for you. In the chapter, "The Personal Involvement," there's a great deal about the Apostle Paul. From Acts 16, it talks about how the gospel came to the Gentiles. Philippian jailer asked the question, "What must I do to be saved?" Paul and Silas were in jail in Philippi. Their chains fell off, the earthquake came, and they were free to go, but they didn't go. And so the jailer, just before he killed himself, said to them, "What must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." And so the jailer believed, and immediately, not only was he a Christian, but his whole family came to Christ. That's what happens when somebody like you makes a determination and a decision to let Jesus Christ be the Lord of your life. When you respond to the gospel, when you believe on Christ, turning to him from your sins, God has a perfect plan. Remember, it was midnight, and Paul and Silas were praying, and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening. God wants you to have a song in your heart. He wants you to share that song. Recently, it was my privilege to be in my hometown, Mount Carmel, Illinois, for ag days. And there we were able to connect and reconnect with lots of people. We were able to see people who came to Triple T way back when we had folk who came up and said, "Well, I came to Triple T back in the mid-60s." Others came in the early 70s. And then one, later, later on, came and said, "I was there in the 90s." Well, because we've been going every single Saturday for 45 years, and we've been reaching out across the tri-state and way beyond for all of those four and a half decades. God has been great and gracious to us, and He has helped us to have people who are praying and who are continuing to share their faith in Christ because they were challenged at Triple T to do precisely that. I hope that you will understand that God wants you to be involved. He wants you to, I believe, be a prayer partner with us if you are a believer. And we invite you to be what we call a Tiger teammate. Tiger stands for Teens Involved Going Evangelizing Regularly. We're able to take teams of many, many different teenagers to the streets of Mount Carmel and to nine other counties this summer as we did fair share. And we were able to share Christ one-on-one with lots and lots of people. In fact, over 1,500 people heard the gospel directly. When I was in high school, just before the start of my senior year, I received a very special letter from a friend saying, "I would like to talk with you." I was thrilled about that letter because I wanted to talk to that person too. As a result of that letter and the conversations that happened afterward, we were able to together work to reach lots and lots of people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We want you to know that God has a destiny for you, and part of that could be you're being a Tiger teammate. If you send $20, you provide a scholarship to train another 10 to 19-year-old in peer evangelism. We hope that you will. We need to hear from you. But the book is free. If you send something great, if you don't, it's still free. So write to us and get your copy of Discover Your Destiny.
