Telling The TRUTH
080611 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President George Dooms. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Temptations and temptors will come by surprise, and some of the things presented may sound logical, but keep your guard up and keep on the whole armor of God. Listen to Genesis 1421, New King James Version. Now the King of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me the persons and take the goods for yourself." Compromise. You give me this, and you take this, and everything will be fine, not quite. God has a plan, and the plan is for us to be totally in tune with Him, to follow His leadership, His guidance, His direction, to go where He wants us to go, when He wants us to go, doing what He wants us to accomplish for His glory. So yes, temptations will come your way. Somebody will say, "If you will just do this, it would be okay." And then you will receive this as a result. If you will give me this, you will get this, whatever this might be. But God has a plan, and the plan is for you to obey Him, to do what His Word says, to accomplish His purpose, to do His will. God is not willing to any should perish, but that all should come the repentance. Do this. Pray, read God's Word, fellowship with utter believes. Can God trust you when the tempter has approached you and made things seem so appealing? Listen to Genesis 14-22, New King James Version. But Abram said to the King of Sodom, "I have lifted my hand to the Lord God most high, the possessor of heaven and earth." In other words, no way, Jose. Am I going to do what you have suggested? I am serving the Lord. I am following Him. I am not going to go in a direction that He would not be pleased for me to go. And so what about you? There will be temptations coming your way. Some of these will seem so innocent and so beneficial to you. But what about God and His will for you? Are you doing the right thing always? Or are you giving in a little here and a little there? Compromise leads to a fall. So be very careful. Be prayerful and be willing to live the kind of life that will please the Lord. And to go with the gospel to folk who need Him, praying always, sharing God's good news. Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He was buried and He rose again. The Bible says, "That's the story to tell to someone today." How strong is your resolve to do right no matter what? Listen to what Abram said to the king of Sodom, "That I will take nothing from a thread to a sandal strap, that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, 'I have made Abram rich.'" Genesis 14, 23, New King James Version. Can that be your testimony when the temptation comes? I hope it can be. I hope it will be. One of the things that God wants us to do is to be strong in the Lord, in the power of His might. Because if we do that, putting on His full armor, we can stand against the wilds of the devil. And of course, temptation comes through people many, many times. Very desirable things may be presented. But in the middle of it all, take a stand for good and for God and give glory to the Lord. Be willing to tell other people why you say no, if you do, when the temptation comes. Not so you can brag, except a brag on Jesus for helping you be what you are supposed to be and do what you are supposed to do. It's really up to you. You have decisions to make consistently. But draw night of God and share the gospel. Are there some people you were involved with today for whom you are responsible? Are you doing something helpful for them? Listen to what Abram did after saying he will take nothing for himself. He was kind and considerate to some others. Listen to Genesis 14, 24, New King James Version. Accept only what the young men have eaten and the portion of the men who went with me. Aener, Eschol, and Mamrie. Let them take their portion. Yes, do unto others as you would have them do to you. Look out for those folk for whom you are responsible. Somebody you could reach if you would be kind and considerate. Pray a lot, all the time. Never go any place, nor do anything. You can't say, "God, bless me as I go here, and bless this place where I am going." You can get along so much better in the life that you live if you'll do things this way. And then be careful that you are not selfish, but you are generous. That you are looking out for the interest of others. Will you prayerfully, carefully share God's Word? Will you invest your time, your talent, your treasure, and the cause of Christ? Listen to Genesis 15, 1, New King James Version. After these things, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield. Your exceedingly great reward." Yes, God will shield you from temptation. God will reward you when you say no to what Satan is offering. God cares about you. He loves you so much that He gave His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to live perfectly, and then to die for your sins and my sins, to be buried and to rise again on the third day. The Bible is clear. Jesus Christ came to save sinners, and we have the God-given responsibility of helping take the gospel to people who need the Lord. If you are not a believer in Christ, this is the moment when you can say, "God, I have sinned. I am really sorry, and I'm trusting Jesus. I'm turning to Him. I'm receiving your gift to eternal life, and I am willing to tell other people that I believe. And as you tell other people how you became a believer, they too can become members of God's forever family. It becomes a wonderful, wonderful privilege. Go today. Do you have a desire down deep in your heart? Have you told the Lord about it? Listen to Genesis 15-2, New King James Version. But Abram said, "Lord God, what will you give me seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?" Yes, Abram was asking God to do something so special that it would take a miracle. Have you asked God for something, an impossible dream that would please Him? Should He grant it to you? I have, and I have seen God do it again and again, magnificent things. Yes, the Bible says to light yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. You may say, "Well, I want this and I want that, but is your wantor in tune with God? If you are wanting the wrong thing, ask God to change your wantor so that you will desire those things that will be pleasing to the Lord and be beneficial to others, especially when it comes to sharing God's glorious gospel. Pray and expect God to answer. He cares about you. He wants to give you good things, and He wants you to be thankful for everything that He provides. Are you? Genesis 15-3, New King James says, "Then Abram said, "Lord, You have given me no offspring. Indeed, one born in my house is my heir." He was saying, "Yes, there are servants here. Yes, there are people who live under my jurisdiction, under my guidance, but Lord, I don't have a personal, involved individual who is my own son. Lord, will You give me an offspring?" He didn't say this yet. He was just explaining that He didn't have an offspring. Sometimes we have to tell the Lord what our circumstances are. He knows, but He wants to hear from us. Are you intimate with the Lord? Are you willing to tell Him everything to hold nothing back? One of the greatest things that a Christian can do, that a believer can experience, is to just open totally to the Lord and let Him look down deep inside every aspect of our being and then trust Him completely. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, in all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. That's the promise. Do you believe it? You can. I hope you will. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. You are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville in Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. [MUSIC] Summer surge 2011 began in earnest on Saturday April 30. It's been an exciting time working with the missionaries to America from Asia and then fair share. Fair share began on July 9. God graciously granted His blessings as we saw Him work marvelously through a team of at least 34 who were going out giving free ice water, taking surveys, presenting the gospel and giving Bibles. We had the opportunity of going to Warwick County, Indiana, to Richland County, Illinois, and to Davies County, Kentucky the first week. In Davies County, 13 responded to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, 18 in Richland County, Illinois, and 34 in Warwick County, Indiana. Then came the peg point, the midway point of summer surge 2011. That was Saturday July 16. Jesus Christ changed in a world summit. Creative Christian communications happened. Bible input, music. Speakers included Lee Hamoke and others. Steve Peterson from Teen Missions International. It was food, friends, fun, and it was a wonderful, wonderful time. We had the lesson, the Motorcycle Sunnysco Mission Vintage Vehicle here with puppets and drama from the Teen Missions Teen Team. Leaders from across America came with these teenagers who came from as far apart as California to Connecticut. It was a special training day also for pure evangelism as we continued to go to fair share. The second week, we were privileged to go to two counties, one in Indiana and one in Kentucky. In Knox County, Indiana, God blessed abundantly as 76 responded to the gospel and in Kentucky at McLean County, 17 more. During the first two weeks, we've seen God work in hearts and lives, and we have observed 158 making the decision to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We have surveyed an endeavor to share with 970 different individuals. And now we are getting ready for another happening. It's very, very exciting to see what God has already done and to anticipate what He's going to do. What we're looking forward to now is the countdown that begins today toward the Youth of Anza Association, annual convention, and the youth workers' intensive training, September 2021 and 22 at Triple T. On September 20, we're going to be having a youth rally on Tuesday night at 7.27 p.m. Our whole theme and thrust is to impact your community for Christ. Frontlines and behind the scenes people with exciting, effective ministries are coming together. Youth workers' intensive training is being offered by Youth of Anza Association. Again, September 20, 21 and 22 on the campus of Triple T. Impact your community for Christ, as I said, is the theme in three experienced youth leaders comprised of task force. Bob Bland, founder and director of Teen Missions International, George Kelle, director of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Christian Performing Arts Center, and myself, the founder and president of Triple T Christian Youth Ministries. We and others will share exciting, effective, and workable methods and resources. Dick Capen, the senior vice president of the Billie Graham Evangelistic Association, has been invited to be the keynote speaker. Twenty other front-line and behind-the-scenes leaders have been invited to teach their specialties. Bob Bland founded Teen Missions in 1970. He innovated the short-term mission concept for youth. He is now recruited and trained over 55,000 youth and adult leaders to serve on every populated continent in more than 110 countries worldwide. George Kelle serves as executive director of Harrisburg, Christian Performing Arts Center, formerly known as Greater Harrisburg Youth for Christ, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. George has been a part of the ministry there for four decades. Basic and advanced youth workers' intensive training sessions include biblical insights, building a team full-time, part-time and volunteer, creative outreach possibilities, current youth issues, trends and statistics, equipping local church youth workers, finance and accounting, foundations for effective youth evangelism, funding youth ministry, interactive involvement, leadership principles, legal issues, pure evangelism, performing arts ministry, public relations, purity, short-term missions, sports ministry, using online and social media effectively, women in ministry. The entire student body from BMW, that's Bible Missionary Work Training Center for Merritt Island, Florida, is coming and they're going to be involved in all the aspects of youth evangelism. Again, if you know a youth worker that needs to know more about what to do to reach teens for Christ, invite them to come and join us. We're excited about what God has already done and is doing right now and we need your prayers as we move full speed ahead to involve as many people as possible in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. That's why we have coach training here every third Saturday. It will happen again on the Saturday of August 20 and people like you are invited to come and be a part of all of this. God's doing things and we're excited about not only what He has already done but what can happen in the days ahead as we catch the vision to reach every teenager in America with God's glorious Gospel. Our vision, everyone between the ages of 10 and 19 to hear the Gospel before turning 20 with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that God would have you to be a part of all of this by being a prayer partner with us. So let us know you're praying and then do something about that. Pray without ceasing and everything give thanks for this We are the will of God and Christ Jesus for you. There are people who need the Lord and as we go with the Gospel training more teenagers in pure evangelism and adults as coaches we can reach multitudes more with Jesus' message. Christ died for our sins, you know, he was buried and he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures. Will you tell that story to somebody today and will you pray that we will be able to move ahead with as many people involved in God's army as possible? We're thrilled and excited and delighted because of what God has done. Stay tuned to learn how you can be a part of all of this. The countdown is underway now toward a very, very special happening coming in September. And so each Saturday through Tuesday beginning August 6 through 9 and then August 13 through 16, August 20 through 23, August 27 through 28 September 3, 4, 5, 6, and then 10, 11, 12, 13, and then 17, 18, 19, and 20, 20, 21, and 22 are the dates of the Youth Evangelism Association Convention and the Youth Workers Intensive Training and begins with a Tiger Team Impact Outreach targeting schools, students, leaders in the immediate area and we hope that you will be praying with us from today for the next six weeks. And then on week seven we'll have the impact happening. And of course as that happens we'll be invaded by a lot of people from a lot of places. We'll have them coming here from Pennsylvania, from Ohio, from Michigan, from Florida, from North Carolina. Well I'm coming from all over the United States as the student body of the BMW, the Bible Missionary Work Training Center from Merritt Island, Florida. We'll have leaders such as Bob Bland, Founder, Teen Missions International, George Kal, from Pennsylvania, who is involved in creative Christian communications to a great, great ultimate degree. And we'll have many, many others joining us, Dick Capen, from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. So be praying for all of this moving forward as we watch God do what only he can to make us usable and use us.
