Telling The TRUTH
060411 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president George Dumes. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. You are about to hear about preparations ready to begin. Genesis 11-3, New King James Version. Then they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks, and bake them thoroughly." They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for martyr. A building project is obviously in the works. God wants you and me to be alert and aware of what's going on around us. He wants us to know that we are to build something special for God. We are to build a group of people who will believe and do something about what they believe. What you believe is the most important thing about you. Have you believed on Christ personally? I hope you have, and I hope that you will get other people to join your group. Not just a small group of believers, but a group of believers who will aggressively reach out to those who are not yet believers and to gather, build a group of people who will live forever. Are you willing to go now? Are you willing to share now? Are you willing to pray today? Read God's Word. Do what the Bible says. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Be not on your own understanding, in all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Yes, God has a perfect plan for you and the people that you can reach out to. So go with the Gospel, go there. In the years and decades following the flood, Noah's sons and his sons sons and their sons began to devise a devastating scheme. This is Genesis 11 for New King James Version. And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens. Let us make a name for ourselves lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth." They knew that something was going to happen to them in the days that were before them, but then they had this other thing that they were thinking about themselves and all of their tomorrows. Let's make a name for ourselves, they said. Have you heard anybody say something like that? A lot of people are trying to make sure that everybody looks up to them, that they find out who they are, that they're going to follow after them. Well God has a way of allowing us to come back to reality. We're going to discover that in just a little while when we look into God's Word following these verses. But suffice it to say today that you need to make certain that you are following God's direction for you, that you are listening to that still small voice of God, not going beyond Him, not going behind Him, but going with Him, into all of your tomorrows. Are you ready to put on the whole armor of God, to go with the gospel? I hope you are, do it now. Be sure your sin will find you out. Listen to Genesis 11-5, New King James Version. But the Lord came down to see the city and tower which the sons of men had built. No, you cannot hide from God. God is going to be aware of you and of all the things that are happening with you and because of you. God wants us to be leveling with Him, not to try to do things on our own, not to try to strut ourselves out in front of others saying, "Look at me and look what I've done and what I'm doing," but rather to humble ourselves before God. Twumble ourselves means that we are going to put God first in everything that happens to us. We are going to endeavor to follow Him. Jesus said, "Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men." That should be the ambition, the desire, the hope of the heart, of everyone who is a follower of Christ, who is a believer, to follow Jesus, to go out and to share God's wonderful plan of salvation with people who need the Lord. Who do you know who needs to know Him? Are you praying for them specifically? Are you praying with other Christians for them? Are you reading and heeding God's Word? There are folk out there that need your compassion and need you to be the sharer of God's good news. My uncle had a saying, "That boy is getting too big for his britches, too smart for his own good." Listen to Genesis 7-6, New King James, "And the Lord said, 'Indeed the people are one, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.'" God's aware of the ambitions and desires of people to make a name for themselves and to try to outsmart God. But you can't. You can't sin and win. God is saying to them and to us, "I see you, I observe you, I know what you're up to, and I'm going to do something about it." Don't ever try to do things that God would not be pleased about your doing, but rather endeavor to please the Lord. What will please Him most? The Bible says, "He who wins souls is wise." Be wise. Tell the truth. Tell people how to get to heaven. Don't go alone, but take as many with you as you can, once you have received Jesus Christ personally as your Savior and forgiver. Get some prayer partners. Pray by name for the people that you know who need to know the Lord. There folk out there that together can be reached, so read what God says to do and then do it. Genesis 11-7, New King James Version, God is speaking. Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. When God determines to do something, know that He is going to do it in a way that is going to be absolutely fantastic. Three things about this verse, number one, there is a trinity. God said us, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, they always have been, they always will be three. This is before Jesus had been born a virgin, but He existed with God the Father. The second lesson to learn is that languages now are so different so that many people have to translate them in order to get the gospel to them. They have been confused for a long, long time. Thirdly, God is indeed in charge. You cannot outsmart Him. You can't run ahead of Him. He won't allow you to lag behind Him as far as His overall purpose is concerned. And His purpose is that man would love Him, that man would come to know Him in a very personal way. And that's why He allowed the third person of the trinity, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come and become sin for us, so that we by believing could have our sins forgiven. Tell that truth. Genesis 11-8, New King James Version. So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Three reasons why God does things. Number one, He loves us. Number two, He doesn't tolerate sin. God wanted the whole world to be populated. So He scattered the people over the face of the earth. And thirdly, God will never allow man to go beyond what God has set as man's limits. You and I know that Jesus, God's Son, died for our sins, that He was buried. That He rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures. And because that truth is so worldwide, everybody anywhere who will admit that He or He is a sinner, who will believe on the Lord Jesus, and who will confess Him publicly, can have life forever. God's gift is eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Lord. But to receive that gift, we have to admit that we have sinned. Believe on Christ and confess Him publicly. And somebody has to tell people how to do that. That's why we are sharing this message with you today. Will you get motivated by God to tell people about Jesus? Please do. Therefore the name is called Babel. Because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth, and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth, Genesis 11-9, New King James Version. Ever hear anybody use the expression, "Oh, don't pay any attention to Him or Her." Here she is just babbling. That means they are confused. That means they are not making sense. That means they are not being articulate in what they are saying. That means that they are not being really understood. God set it up so that people could not understand each other, because again they were doing things, taking things into their own hands, trying to play God when God said, "No, enough is enough." God will never tolerate sin. He will love the sinner, but He hates sin. Always has, always will. Some make sure that when we do mess up, we go to the Lord and confess our sins. For He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. And having done that, have compassion on the people who need the Lord in their lives. Go to them. Everybody you know, somebody you care about, will turn to Jesus when you tell them. Will you? Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for those in first through fifth grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. You are in for a very delightful experience today, because we have a special guest with us. He is the Director of the Teen Missions International Missionaries to America from Asia, and we've been privileged to host them across the tri-state and all three states. We've been going to and fro, and what a wonderful series of opportunities God has given to us. And I want you to meet my friend, and soon to be yours, Dave Spindler. Dave, tell us about how you got this assignment and what it's been like to travel with these nine people from Indonesia and Asia. Well, George, first of all, I want to thank you and Triple T for bringing us on board to be able to be a part of the ministry that you've got going here. It's been a real pleasure. How we got involved with this team was that we are on staff with Teen Missions International out of Merid Island, Florida. And the Director, when we came back on staff, asked if we would be kind enough to lead the team. And we said, my wife and I, Stephanie, we said, yes, we'd be glad to lead the team. And it started out, as you know, last August, and we were at that time called missionaries to Canada because we were operating in Canada. And we've been together all this time traveling across Canada. Then on April 20th, we came across the border in Detroit, and we spent five weeks in Ohio, and now we're here in Indiana with you and your ministry. Now, as you came to America from Canada through Detroit, from Windsor, did you come through the tunnel or did you go over the top? We went over the top. Okay. I've been both ways, so I just, I like the tunnel the best. But anyway, we're glad you're here because what a great thing it's been to get to meet these young people, young men and young ladies from across these very special islands of Indonesia. Indonesia has how many islands, Dave? There are 17,000 islands in Indonesia, and only 6,000 of them are inhabited. Only 6,000 inhabited islands, only 6,000. But we have people from several of those islands with us. And there are things called BMW. And these are graduates, so BMW, now that's not a car. It's Bible missionary work training centers, and there are how many, 6 of them in Indonesia? We have 6 in Indonesia. And there are a whole bunch of them around the world, over 20 of them in different countries. Teen Missions International, by the way, has bases in 23 nations, at least 30 bases on property that is owned and operated by Teen Missions International. And this has been such a joy to have people from Asia. This is our first time to host an Asian team. We've had them here from Africa, from South America, from Europe. But this is our first Asian group, and it's been really something. Tell us, Dave, what has been the most, I guess you might say, interesting experience that you've had in traveling with these people from a different part of the world? Their consistency when they are up in front of an audience, how their voices blend together, their testimonies that they give about how they came to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. And the guy is preaching, but you've got to understand, George, that they started speaking English four months before they came to Canada. And I know that if I had four months to learn Indonesian, I could never do the way they do with the English language. That's one of the things I've been most impressed about is these kids that really share so wonderfully. And the other thing is the harmony that they have, not only in their deportment with each other, but on stage, vocally. And to think that they didn't know each other, only a couple of them knew each other before they came, and then they blended together in such a magnificent way. And we've had lots of groups that we have hosted here, but this one has the best musically, I think that we've ever had. Let's talk about where you go from here. I know that things are wrapping up this weekend here at Triple T, and we have churches tomorrow, three of them, in fact, two in Illinois and one in Indiana, and then the International Dinner on Monday, and then they're off from here and headed, I guess, soon to Team Mrs. International Boot Camp in Florida. That's correct. We'll have one stop in South Carolina, and that will be after we leave here, we'll go to Clinton, South Carolina, where we will be hosted by another church down there. And then on the 14th of June, we will arrive at the Lord's Boot Camp in Merritt Island, Florida. And that's a very interesting thing that's going to be a new experience for these people from the other side of the world. Well, three highlights, if you'll share with us. Number one, what was the most exciting thing that you've seen God do in your time since last August to be with the missionaries to America? Well, one of the main things was, is here these young people, I can't call them kids, they are kids to me, but they're all young adults, coming from the different parts of the world, from South Korea, and from the different islands in Indonesia, and coming together in a short period of time to become a cohesive unit where they could work together and play together and have a wonderful time together, and the Lord used them in such a way to reach the lost of this world. People are surprised that United States is used to send in missionaries out, but here we've received missionaries from another country, and they're here for the same purpose that our missionaries are, to share the gospel of Christ. One of the things that I know all of them experienced for the very first time was the night that we were canceled because of the severe storm predictions, and as the storms came through that evening, it was the first time that they had ever experienced tornadoes or such severe thunderstorms, and God graciously protected the property here at Triple T, although we lost a lot of trees and a lot of things, but not one scratch on the buildings and certainly no harm to any people, and we're so grateful to the Lord for that. But what other experiences have you had maybe in travel, driving to and from, or just something that you didn't anticipate that happened, and you said, "Wow, that was a God thing." One of the, I guess you could say, we weren't scared because we didn't know what was happening, but we were driving from Edmonton, Alberta, down to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where we were going to be hosted by a church for a week, and when we got down there, I noticed on the right side of my trailer, the front tire was the metal bands were coming through, so I got out the spare tire and I went back to change it, and as I looked back at the rear tire on the trailer, the hub where the brake was was all broken out, so all I had to do was jack the tire up and pull the tire off, brake drum and all. It was the hand of the Lord that kept that tire on so we wouldn't have a major accident when we were there. That was just an awesome thing because I didn't know it was there. A lot of things that we have been thrilled about, ministry-wise, is the covering of prayer. We have people that are praying for us every day, and I'm amazed as I hear people saying, "George, every day we pray for a triple T." People, I didn't have any idea were doing this, and it's a privilege to talk to the Lord and to express our appreciation to Him for all that He's done and is doing. The third thing I'm going to ask you is, as you've come to triple T, I know this is a little different than your Canadian things and maybe your Ohio things, but I guess we are known for being aggressively evangelistic, Bible believing and church-centered, and you certainly have had the privilege of going to a lot of different churches, lots of different denominations, and the Bible has been always front and center, but what about the evangelism emphasis? Is this kind of unique, different, or the same as everybody else is doing it? Triple T's is very aggressive, like you said. It's not like the rest of the churches that we have been to. They're wanting to do something, but sometimes they seem to be caught in a rut and not really presenting the gospel in such a way that it's going to reach the lost, and that's something that our kids do, the team, whenever they preach, they preach the gospel and they preach sin and redemption, because we have to recognize that we are sinners and we have to recognize that we need somebody to redeem us and that's somebody that's Jesus Christ. Well, the wonderful thing is the plan of salvation works worldwide. All you have to do is admit that you've sinned for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. There's none righteous, no not one. All we lack sheep have gone astray. We've turned each one to his own way, and the Lord has laid up on him, and as Jesus Christ, iniquity of sin and shortcoming of us all. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. That's the answer. That's what to do. And then stand up and be counted. Let the world know that you are a believer and tell other people how they too can admit they've sinned, turn to Jesus from their sins, believe on the Lord Jesus, and then tell the story. Tell the truth, share the Gospel. Well, we're glad again that you're here. Your wife Stephanie has been such a blessing to have here in the ministry, along with you to be the leaders of this group. And just one other quickie regarding the missionaries to America, what do you anticipate is going to happen to them as they go back to their country? We've only got about 20 seconds left. All of them will go back and continue working in the Bible schools with teen missions, Indonesia. Four or five of them are not sure what they're going to do with the Indonesians. They're not sure what the Lord is going to do with them. I know that they've got gifts that the Lord will use, and one South Korean Joanna, she'll be coming to BMW in Florida this fall, and so Ra will be going back to school to get her masters in English, lit in history. Okay. What a great thing. Well, thank you, Dave, for being our guest today on Telling the Truth. And all of you that are out there, we invite you to come tonight. If you're in the listening area, tonight is Hot Dog, it's June, and this will be the final presentation of the missionaries to America here at Triple T. We're located as most of you know, but I'll tell you again, four miles north of Evansville Regional Airport, four miles south of I-64, 13,000 U.S. Highway 41 North at Booneville, New Harmony Road. If you'd like to have a free Bible, we want to have one in your hands. One you can come and get it, or secondly, we can send it to you. Our address is TTT 13,000, it's 13,000, U.S. Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana, 477-25. Commercial Christian Youth Ministries has as our territory the 100 mile radius of Evansville. Within this sphere, there are 93 counties, there are over 400,000 10 to 19 year olds. Listen to 2 Corinthians chapter 10 verses 18 and 19, New King James. For we are not extending ourselves beyond our sphere, thus not reaching you. For it was to you that we came with the gospel of Christ, not boasting of things beyond measure, that is in other men's labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, to preach the gospel to the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's sphere of accomplishment. But you glories, let him glory in the Lord, for not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends. And our goal is to be commended by God in all of our efforts and energies and endeavors to serve him. God has opened doors in all three states for the ministry of the missionaries to America and the triple-T team. They arrived, that is the MTA's, Tuesday May the 24th, and they will be with us, God willing, until next Monday evening, then they'll be part on the following Tuesday morning, which will be June the 7th. Well, we have been happy and delighted to see God open doors and to put us where he wants us when. We're hoping that you can even come out tonight, because it's hot dog at June, as I said earlier. Free hot dogs for everybody, and you'll get to meet these wonderful nine youth from South Korea and Indonesia. We're in the middle of summer surge, not in the middle of it, actually, it started on Saturday, April 30, and is to continue through Saturday, October 1. The middle of it will be July 16 for Jesus Christ change in the world's summit. More about that in a moment. Summer surge encompasses the MTA tour fair share as the tri-state is invaded by the traveling tigers. It will be joined by a team of youth and leaders from Teen Missions International from all across America, and then we'll have the Youth of Angels and Association National Convention and Youth Worker's Intensive Training, September 2021 and 22. The mission is to get the gospel to and through thousands of 10 to 19-year-olds during summer surge. Volunteers, adequate tools, and equipment for training are urgently needed. Peer evangelism and youth worker training must be accelerated. Audio, video, internet, and print materials can significantly increase the effectiveness quantitatively and qualitatively. At county fairs and street festivals, teams of trained youth effectively present the gospel. Drama, music, and media are the basic tools used, and we are thrilled about what God has done in sending some very, very talented youth this way. Practice and equipment are needed to enlarge the territory. Most of the teenagers who accept Christ personally at Triple T Saturday nights or Tiger Team Impact events are brought by Christian peers who care. Enlarge the place of your tent and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations. Do not spare, lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes, for you shall expand to the right and to the left and your descendants will inherit the nations and make the desolate cities inhabited. Isaiah 54, 2 and 3, New King James. The countdown calendar toward the July 16th, Jesus Christ, James and World Summit, midpoint of summer surge, starts six weeks prior, tonight, June 4th. And the thrust is prey without ceasing, requesting all Tiger teammates to personally be involved in Jeremiah 33, call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know. Will you be a Tiger teammate, invest at least $20, and you'll be one. We want to hear from you, so please write to us and let us know you care. Christ through you can change the world. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m. you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 US-41 North at Booneville and Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport.
