Telling The TRUTH
051411 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. Founder and President, George Dooms. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Genesis 913, New King James, contains one of the greatest promises God ever spoke. Listen. "I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between me and the earth." That's what God did. That's what He said. And that's what we can understand will continue to happen. Rainbow. God's rainbow. As I took a course in commercial design, I learned that the spectrum of color is all in the rainbow. Every color we will use is there. God put it there. He put it there for a purpose. He put it there as a reminder that He is a good God, that He will never again wipe out mankind or even the other creations by flooding the entire earth. Yes, God is good, and God is great. God wants you to know that He loves you so much that He allowed His Son. His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to become your sin substitute. Christ came to save sinners. Christ died for your sins, my sins, our sins according to the Scriptures. Trust Him. Believe on the risen Lord Jesus and have life that lasts forever. God is speaking to Noah, and we get to listen. Genesis 9, 14 and 15, New King James Version. "It shall be when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud. And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you, and every living creature of all flesh. The waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh." Aren't you glad that God keeps His promises? What a wonderful, wonderful thing to see a rainbow. And to be reminded that God is promising that it is His significant signal that He has set forth for you and me and for all mankind. I hope you're understanding how awesome God is, how much He loves you and me, and that He wants us to listen to His Word, to talk with Him, to fellowship with other believers, and then to take His story, the gospel story, the good news to people who need the Lord. Who do you know that you can today tell about the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, God the Son, who came to seek and to save that which was lost? There is somebody out there waiting for you to tell them the story, the real story, the true story of God's love. "The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." Genesis 9-16, New King James, "The rainbow." Have you seen one lately? The last one I saw was a double rainbow. What a thrill, what a delight, what a privileged look up at the sky. We've had some floods in our area. It rained and rained and it rained. And then suddenly, there was a rainbow. What a wonderful thing it is to know that God cares about you and about me and about all of our tomorrows, and He has given us this wonderful promise and this sign that we can see. God wants you and me to read His Word. He wants us to understand what He has said and why He has said it. And He wants us to know that He loves us so much that He allowed the death of His Son to happen so that the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse from all sins. That blood is the redeeming blood because it is the blood of the risen Savior. Christ died and rose again and now He wants to give you and me and others who need Him eternal life. Will you tell someone today? Wouldn't it have been wonderful to have heard the voice of God as He spoke directly to Noah? Listen to Genesis 9-17, New King James. When God said to Noah, this is the sign of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth. Yes, that's what God said. But He's continued to speak. And sometimes, if we will listen, we will hear that still small voice that gives guidance and direction and helps us determine where to go, when and how and with whom and to whom. God wants us to fellowship with other believers once we receive Jesus Christ personally as our Savior and our forgiver. And He wants us to read His Word and He wants us to talk with Him to make our petitions known to Him and we can pray for others and with others about those who need the Lord. We can be prayer partners and I hope you will be with us as we endeavor to get the gospel to as many youth as possible before they turn twenty. We want you to pray that God will work wonderfully through His Word speaking to the hearts of people. So they will trust Jesus and receive the gift of God, eternal life, through Christ Jesus, our Lord, pray and then tell the gospel story. Names are important because people are important and every person is different from every other person. Each one has a unique DNA. Listen to Genesis 9-18 New King James Version. Now the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Jaypeth and Ham was the Father of Canaan. There we have the beginnings of the history of the folk who were on the ark and God has a perfect plan for you too. He has a purpose for your life. He has something very distinctive about you that only you can accomplish when you get things totally in tune with the Lord. Are you reading God's Word? Are you fellowshipping with other believers who really trust the Lord? Are you praying together and individually? And are you concerned about those folk who don't yet know Christ? Are you concerned about a world in need of a Savior? Are you concerned about the sin that is rampant everywhere? Are you concerned about the sinners who need our Savior? Are you concerned enough to tell those sinners how to find that Savior, Jesus Christ, and how they can by trusting Him receive His gift of eternal life? Tell somebody today, please. At RBLT Christian Youth Ministries, we do a lot of things in threes. Probably the greatest threesome that the world has known about were those three sons of Noah and of course their wives. And to Genesis 9-19, New King James. These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated. The whole earth, because of what Noah was able to do taking his family on board, his wife, his sons, and their wives. Today you and I have the opportunity also of reproducing spiritually speaking. We have the privilege of sharing the truth, of telling other people how they can know Jesus Christ personally, how they can receive His gift of eternal life. We need to bask in the Word of God. We need to fellowship with other believers. We need to pray diligently and deliberately and distinctly for people that we know who need the Lord. I hope that you will understand that you are here to reproduce as a Christian, as a believer in Christ. I hope that you will share your faith until someone hears and heeds God's plan of salvation. Will you? And Noah began to be a farmer and a planet of vineyard. Genesis 9-19, New King James. My name is George, and George means farmer. Although I have never been a farmer, I have worked in the fields detastling corn. Both of my grandfathers had farms, and my dad also for a while was a farmer. And then he was in the grocery business, and we learned a lot about food, how it is grown, how it all comes together. One of my grandfathers was a wheat inspector, and he was an expert in his field. I hope that today you will understand that farmers are important people. God wants us to tip our hats to those folk who produce the crops that make it possible for us to live. And I hope that you will understand that because Noah was a farmer, he began to serve the Lord in a very special way. Of course, we know that Noah was not perfect, and even though he was protected and saved, he did not follow through consistently. We will learn more about that in the days to come, but right now suffice it to say that you too are a sinner, all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Tell someone today how they can have their sins forgiven through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the risen Lord. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Boone Building Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday, a good news club for those in first through fifth grades, is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. The discovery that Jesus Christ is the Son of God immediately creates a question. Why did He come? If Jesus Christ is God, then He is omniscient. He would do nothing without a clear and eternal purpose. Why did Jesus come? People have given many answers, one, to be our example that we should follow in His steps, two, to be an inspiration to us so that we could be motivated to live better lives, three, be a martyr for goodness, so we could be inspired to be willing to die for a great purpose. Each of these answers has some truth, but leaves out the essential reason. Why then did Jesus Christ really come? If Jesus' main purpose was to be an example, then He would have brought the world's greatest despair instead of its greatest hope. Matthew 548, New King James Version, says, "Therefore, you shall be perfect just as your Father in heaven is perfect." We would be constantly frustrated, reaching for something we could never grasp. Jesus must not make righteousness apparent but attainable. Listen to Colossians 1, 26, 27, 28, New King James. The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles which is Christ in you the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Christ in you the hope of glory, how can that be? It can only be when you admit that you are a sinner. When you say, "I have fallen short of God's expectations of me," I am sorry, God, that I've sinned. I turn to you from my sins to Jesus Christ, your Son. I embrace Him as my Savior. Let's answer the question. Why did Jesus come? Let Him answer. Luke 19, 10, "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save, that which was lost. That which was lost is you and me and every person who has ever been born. All have sinned. There is none righteous, no not one. All we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned each one to His own way. And the Lord has laid upon Him that is Jesus Christ, Son of God, God the Son, the iniquity, the sin, the shortcoming of us all." Listen to Matthew 20, 28, "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many." Jesus' purpose was not just to live and be an example, but to die and to pay the moral debt for all of our sins that we could not possibly pay. The full reason for His coming is only found at the foot of the cross. Have you been there? Have you understood the death, the agonizing death of Jesus Christ because you are a sinner? Do you know that the Bible is very, very straightforward when it says Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures? I want you to listen to what we call the biblical background of Triplety Christian Youth Ministries, when we were invited out to share the story of our ministry and to have a direct ministry to congregations, almost always. Timmy Lee Dooms, who is the vice-president of Triplety, shares this Scripture and sets the pace for who we are and why we do what we do. It's 2 Corinthians chapter 4, "Listen, therefore, since we have this ministry as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking and craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But even if our gospel is veiled or hidden, it is hidden to those who are perishing, whose minds the God of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shown in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us." Let's look at those verses one by one, "Therefore, since we have this ministry as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart, we don't give up, we don't quit, we keep on keeping on, keeping on. That's why when we began this ministry that we call triple T, we began on a Saturday night with two teenagers. And I made the audacious statement, "We will be here every Saturday for the next 30 years. We will always share the gospel, always invite people to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ." And now, consistently, it has happened not only year after year, but decade after decade, and after 30 years we weren't finished. And we determined to keep on going, Saturday by Saturday, week by week, with open doors to people who need the Lord. God has been gracious and good and wonderful, and now it has been 15 additional years to get that original 30, 45 years in counting every single Saturday. We do not lose heart, but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking and craftiness, nor having the Word of God deceitfully. There are a lot of people who are deceitful with God's Word. They say it says things that doesn't say they twist scriptures to fit their own fancy, and they confuse folk by uttering lies that they say they found in the Bible. Don't believe those heretics, those people, even though they might be well-known, even though they might have great allocades from various and sundry people, don't believe them, and don't believe the people who write about them and say, "Oh, they must be telling the truth." But they are liars, deceitful, but here our manifestation of the truth commends ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. We want you to know that we believe the Bible is totally true. There is not one error in it. It is all explicitly the way God intended for it to be shared with people just like you. There is a heaven to be gained, yes there is, but there is a hell to be shunned, and hell is real, and hell is hot, and hell is for everybody who has not yet believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. It was not designed for people, it was designed for the devil and his angels. But listen to verse 3. But even our gospel is veiled. It is veiled to those who are perishing. Who's perishing? Jesus said, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that he believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The perishing are the people who have not yet believed." Who are they? Those whose minds the God of this age has blinded. That's talking about the devil as angels, who do not believe lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ to his image of God should shine on them. And carefully Jesus said, "I am the light of the world." And then later he said, "You are the light of the world." How can that be? Very simply, scientifically you look up in the sky and you say, "Wow, that sun is really, really, really bright." And then at night you look up and say, "Boy, that moon is shining bright, but the moon is not shining bright. The moon is only reflecting the sunlight. It's a mirror, and that's who we are to be and what we are to be." Listen, for we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus, the Lord, and ourselves, your servants for Jesus' sake. That's the hallmark of the Triple T. staff, ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For as a God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shown in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. And then we wrap it up with this verse about excellence. We have this treasure in earth and vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God, and not of us. It is God who is excellent, and we have got to be reflecting His light to a world in darkness. And that's why we do what we do and why we're sharing what we're sharing and why we invite you to be a part of all this too. Stay tuned as we give you a very specific instruction and invitation to be involved. You are invited to prayerfully consider being a tiger teammate. Let me explain to you what a tiger is. Teens involved going evangelizing regularly. We have visitors that come to Triple T for the first time. They say, "Why all the tigers? What does tiger mean?" And it's a pleasure and a privilege to tell them teens involved, going, evangelizing regularly. And we have teenagers doing precisely that. They're taking the gospel out to their friends, but we need to help them by being supporters of them, first by praying and then by giving. The first $20 anybody gives in a calendar year to Triple T Christian Youth Ministries provides a scholarship for what we call a Tiger Team 3G Challenge Day, where they learn the plan of salvation. They learn how to share their faith in Jesus Christ and having learned the Scriptures, then they pass a written test, and then in a role-playing situation they lead one of our other trained peer evangelists to the Lord, so that we know they know what they're doing. Tiger Team, and an encourager gives $20 and provides a scholarship. And then those who want to become enlargers will also give that $20 and then continue at least $20 each month. Some give more. But that makes you, if you want to become one, a Tiger Team enlarger. And we're expanding. And that comes from people who give an average of at least $100 a month. They are called Tiger Team expanders. We want you to know that number one, we need you to pray, and number two, to prayerfully consider giving, and number three, to invest not just your treasure but your time and your talent also. God has been so great and so gracious to us, and we are very grateful to those folk who are investing of their time and talent and treasure to help reach more and more youth with God's glorious gospel. Our goal, our vision, every youth to have the opportunity to hear the gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before he or she turns 20. Our mission, telling the truth to through teenagers, to win them to Christ and train them for Christ, teaching them how to share their faith through their local churches, on their campuses, throughout their communities, and into their world where God leads them in their future. We want you to know that it would be a delight to have you partner with us. We want you to be really prayerfully considered, if you will, being a Tiger teammate. But whatever your decision, we have something we'd like to send to you. When the teenagers are trained, they are all given a special New King James version of the Bible that you can build your life on. There's a picture of the billboard on the cover that says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ." Talk to through teenagers in our website www.tttchristianyouth.org. The inside front cover has God's ABCs, Romans 3 23, Romans 6 23, John 3 16, Romans 10 9 and 10, and then a presentation as to how, by believing on Christ, you can become a member of God's River family. Inside back cover, God's top 10, the Ten Commandments, and then wraps it up with a challenge of Romans 12 1 and 2. The back cover has a picture of the Triple T building, a map on how to get here. Well, if you would like to be a prayer partner and if you will promise to pray, we will send you one of these very special Bibles with this unique cover on it. If you would like to become a tiger teammate, that would be wonderful. So here's how you get your Bible. Just write to us, TTT Christian Youth, 13,000, that's 1-3-0, US Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana 477-25, and repeat, TTT 13,000, 1-3-0, US Highway 41 North, Evansville, Indiana 477-25. And we want to send you this Bible. If you want to tuck $20 or more inside your request, fine, but you don't have to. We just want to give you this Bible so that you can know what we're doing and how we're doing it. We're taking these Bibles out to county fairs, we're taking them out to community after community. We want you to help know this Christ through you can change the world.
