Telling The TRUTH
040911 Telling The Truth 28 Minute Program
[music] You're listening to "Telling the Truth" from Triple T. Christian Youth Ministries, "Telling the Truth to and Through Teenagers." Here is Triple T. founder and president, George Dooms. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The gangplank was down, and the trek into the ark was underway. Listen to Genesis 7, 13 and 14 New King James Version. On the very same day Noah and Noah's sons, Shim, Ham, and Japeth, and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them entered the ark. They and every beast after its kind, all cattle after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort. Do you believe the Bible? This is the true story of what God did to rescue His creation man and the animals He created for man. Yes, God did it. And if you will trust Him to help you perform the task that He has set before you, you too can accomplish what God wants you to do for His glory. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not into your own understanding, in every way acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path. Take the gospel of Jesus Christ seriously, fill the ship with other believers, and tell people who need to know the Lord how they can be saved. And they went into the ark to Noah two by two of all flesh in which is the breath of life. So those that entered male and female of all flesh went in as God had commanded Him, and the Lord shut Him in. Genesis 7, 15, and 16 do King James. Yes, God shut them in. God is so compassionate, so willing to help even when mess-ups come that have been devastating. God is a God of love. God is a God of protection, and yet God has prepared a place for the devil and his angels. He doesn't want any person to go there, but everyone who has not believed on the Lord Jesus will go to that place prepared, not for man, but for the devil. It's called hell, and the Bible very explicitly shares with us the devastation that is coming to those who do not believe. So this is your opportunity, first to make sure that you have trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and secondly, that you are willing to go with those who know the Lord and tick the gospel to those who don't, so that you can rescue the perishing. Go today with God's glorious gospel. God provided the record of His protection of the destruction that came and of what He did to save mankind through Noah, his family, and those animals that followed him into the ark. Listen to Genesis 7, 17, New King James Version. Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. Water. Water to float the ark. Water to drown all creation except those inside the ark. God always protects those people who trust Him, and He wants you to trust Him totally. But one day, the door will be shut. The door to heaven will no longer be open. The door to hell will swallow those folk who have not believed on the Lord Jesus. Please, have compassion, pray diligently, and then go with God's glorious, great, wonderful news telling people that Jesus Christ died for their sins, that He was buried, that He rose again on the third day, and if they will trust Him, they will receive the gift of God, eternal life. There's somebody waiting to know what God has done through His Son Jesus Christ just for them. Will you tell people today? The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. Genesis 7, 18, New King James Version. Noah and his family were safe inside, but they were being tossed about. Have you ever been in a boat when the waves were high and the waters were rough? I have. It's not a lot of fun, but the wonderful thing is when you get back to shore and everything is okay. That's what happened. God took care of Noah and his family. God will take care of you, but you have to trust Him. You have to be willing to really understand that God is concerned about everything that happens in your life, and He will protect you. But He will always let us go through some troubled waters. We need to trust all the time, and then we need to not only trust Him, but to tell other people to trust Him too. Are you fellowshipping with believers in Christ? And together, are you looking into God's Word and then taking the gospel, the plan of salvation, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, and sharing it with people who need the Lord? You can. Do it today. God bless you as you think about what God has done, the miraculous moment of truth when Christ died and rose again. Noah and his family and all of the creatures were safely floating inside the ark. Listen to the story about what was going on outside the ark, Genesis 7, 19, and 20 New King James. And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. The waters prevailed 15 qubits upward, and the mountains were covered. That's called total devastation. That's called a complete covering of water over the entire world. Believe it, it is true. A lot of people will tell you it couldn't have happened, but it did happen. And man has always made up other stories to try to excuse what really took place. Believe the Bible. Believe that God's Word is totally true, and God wants you to know what He did and why He did it. That's why He sent His Son so that you could be saved, so that you could have life that lasts forever, so that you could tell other people that they too can believe on the Lord Jesus and receive life, eternal life, today. Will you go and tell someone now? Listen to God's record of what happened. Genesis 7, 21, and 22 New King James Version. And all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds and cattle and beasts, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth and every man. All in whose nostrils was the breath of the Spirit of life. All that was on the dry land died. Life is short, death is sure. Sin the curse, Christ the cure. God sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. That salvation comes from admitting that you are a sinner, but believing in the Lord Jesus personally and by being willing to share your faith. If you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Salvation is available, but somebody has to tell people how they too can receive that gift of God that lasts forever. There are people out there that you can reach that I can't reach. So will you please pray with people who are believers and then together, go with God's glorious gospel today. Someone is waiting for you to tell them. God wants you to know what He did and why He did it. Listen to Genesis 7, 23, and 24 New King James Version. So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground. Both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air, they were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with Him in the ark remained alive. And the waters prevailed on the earth 150 days. That's just short of half a year. Did you know that God wants you to be protected from whatever is going on in our world? And that you can have the peace of God that passes all understanding, all devastation when you can rest assured that Jesus Christ died for you and your sins? And when you trust Him and realize that He not only died was buried, but He rose again and that resurrection gives you everlasting life. It's God's promise to you, but it's not going to happen automatically. You have to turn to Jesus from your sins. And having done that, you need to tell other people how they, too, can do that and receive everlasting life and avoid everlasting punishment. Every Saturday at 7.27 p.m., you are invited to attend a live youth event at Triple T, 13,000 U.S. 41 North at Booneville near Harmony Road, midway between I-64 and Evansville Regional Airport. Every first Saturday a good news club for those in 1st through 5th grades is available in a separate area. For more information call 812-867-2418 or visit www.tripletchristianyouth.org. This is the miracle that is Triple T Christian Youth Ministries. Forty-five years ago last February, we began near the small town of Darmstadt, population 1500, in rural Vennenberg County, Indiana. Triple T's 30-acre campus is located at 13,000 U.S. Highway 41 North at Booneville near Harmony Road, is midway between Evansville Regional Airport and Interstate 64. On February 14, 1963, impact international and splendor productions produced an event at the Evansville Coliseum called "Splendor of Sacred Song." We had a press conference at the Evansville Airport and placed a sign on U.S. 41 with the message, "Believe un-Christ and you will be saved." Newspapers published photos and radio stations, carried stories. I spotted a house located about 4 miles north of the airport on Highway 41 at Booneville near Harmony Road. And I asked the owner if it was for sale and he said, "Nope, not now, probably never will be." The objective was to be involved with tri-state Youth for Christ but because the event was so successful. The director decided to stay. I was asked to put together another splendor in Kansas City at Easter time. Then July accepted a two-year commitment with Word in Waco, Texas. In 1965, our daughter, Tammy Lee Dooms, was born in Texas. That spring, John McCarty visited us and we talked again about possibilities. In July of 1965, Mary and I moved back to the Wheaton Glen Ellen area where I presented Word to Bookstores, introducing the new word books, the vision that I had helped begin as the advertising director. My territory where the states of Illinois was constant in the St. Louis area. I was conducting an evangelistic crusade in the Splains, Illinois, near O'Hare Airport. And John McCarty told me by phone that he was throwing in the towel at tri-state Youth for Christ and asked me to pray about coming down and picking up the pieces. At the end of the meeting in Displains, I drove to Evansville and on the way down decided I should knock on the door of the house I had seen in 1963 once more to see if anything had changed. When I got to the property, there was a sign outside that said "for sale." I immediately drove to Camp Reveal where I had prayed at Old Bethel with Dr. Pappy Reveal back in 1957. Walking around Old Bethel, I prayed "Lord, it's for sale." You know we don't have any money, but it's for sale. Provide it, work out the details, and we'll use it to win and train teenagers for your glory. I then called the Realtors number. Salesmen met me and showed me the property. As I saw it, I realized it was very well designed and built. When I was told the asking price, I said "I don't see any way, but thanks for showing us." I had a yearbook from Kansas City Youth for Christ and showed the salesman a dream. He said "I've got five teenagers. I really like your idea. Make my boss an offer." I told him I would keep praying that evening. I had a restless night at my aunt and uncle's house in Mount Carmel, Illinois, wrestling in prayer. About three o'clock in the morning, I got an idea. I went to sleep and called for an appointment the next morning with Mr. Kurt Huber of Huber Realty. I drove to downtown Evansville. I met Mr. Huber and said "I've been asked to make an offer for the Lockwood property." I understand that you're asking $75,000 for the house and a couple of acres, and the terms are 20% down. This is probably the cookiest offer you've ever heard, and it will take a series of miracles. That's exactly $15,000 more than we have. Why don't you, as the owner, give us 10% of the down payment before the end of the year, and the other 10% the 1st of January. Mr. Huber said, "Young man, I've been the real estate business with my father all my life, and that is certainly the cookiest offer I've ever heard." But then he said, "Let's drive out and see the owner and see what he says." I stayed in the car and prayed. Mr. Huber met with Mr. Lockwood at his truck stock. Mr. Huber came out to the car and said, "He's ready to see you." I said, "What did he say about the offer?" He said, "Oh, I didn't tell him. I just said, "I have a prospective buyer. You tell him." And so I did. And God worked out the details. What a wonderful thing it is to see the Lord at work. We have had the opportunity of seeing the Lord do things way beyond anything that I could have ever imagined. Within 100 miles of Triple T are 93 counties in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, where more than 400,000 youth ages 10 to 19 live of America's 41 million in that age group. The vision every youth to hear the gospel with an invitation to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ before turning 20. Thousands of teenagers have now been at Triple T Saturday nights, and many thousands more have attended Triple T events at schools, local church facilities, fairgrounds, city parks, and other venues. Radio, television, newspaper stories, print materials, billboards, one-on-one sharing, plus public meetings have reached multiple thousands with God's plan of salvation. Mary has traveled with me and continues to be a vital helpmate. We celebrated 60 years of marriage and ministry together, June 18, 2010. Triple T alumni are now serving the Lord in many nations and all across America. The mission, telling the truth to teenagers to win them to Christ and train them for Christ, teaching them how to share their faith through their local churches, on their campuses, throughout their communities, and into their world, wherever God leads them in their future. Through Teen Missions International, Triple T Youth have gone to all six populated continents and 30 different countries. And youth and leaders from over 40 nations have come to Triple T for training and ministry. Leaders from Triple T have ministered with over 300 different tri-state local churches. In April of 1966, I was invited to conduct an evangelistic crusade in an Evansville church. We set a goal to have 100 on Saturday night and we surpassed the goal, and the group came to Triple T where we had the largest crowd up to that time in our basement. Other doors opened and we were off and running across the tri-state. We conducted Bible clubs after school weekly in Mount Vernon and Vincennes, Indiana. Soon others followed. People were praying faithfully, and the Lord answered. In July, we had our second impact rally at the 4-H Auditorium. On July 27, our son James Lawson was born. The impact rally in October featured the Ken Anderson movie, Without Onion. During our first 45 years, thousands of youth have made the decision to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ at Triple T and outreaches across the tri-state and beyond. In the beginning, our focus has been to be aggressively evangelistic, Bible-centered, and church-based. Many individuals have served the Lord at Triple T on staff, full-time, part-time, and volunteer. Two teenagers and several adults attended Triple T, February 5, 1966, the very first Saturday the doors were opened. That evening I announced we'll be here every Saturday. We will always provide a program for youth, always present the gospel, and always invite youth to believe on the Lord Jesus. Between Saturdays, we'll go across the tri-state and reach out to students at or near their high schools and go on wherever God opens doors of opportunity. In addition to Saturday, nice, Triple T teams administered in communities across the tri-state and well beyond on or near public secondary school campuses in local church facilities, city parks, county fairs, street festivals, municipal auditoriums, and stadiums. Thousands of youth have been trained in peer evangelism and Christian leadership, and many are now serving the Lord as pastors, youth workers, missionaries, and leaders in many different occupations. Using an acrostic of the word strategy, Triple T's focus is small-town, rural America target, evangelizing God-given youth. Of the 41 million-10 to 19-year-olds in America, in the 3,141 counties, over 400,000 are within a 100-mile radius of Triple T. Did you know that Triple T is now located in the middle of America? The medium center of the United States is just 25 miles from our campus. As a Vanderbilt school corporation is constructing the multi-million dollar North Junior High High School campus on US 41, just one mile north of Triple T. We're excited about this outreach that we call True North, and we are looking forward to working with Triple T alumni who are North graduates and some present students are already participating and many more are expected to be involved. During our 45th anniversary year, plans are underway to present Tiger Team Impact Evangelistic Youth Efforts in 45 counties, averaging one each week, February 5 through December. And again, we're off and running. Cowboy Evangelist Lee Himoki is traveling with the Triple T team across the Tri-State and the Triple T Saturday nights. To all the Illinois, Fairfield, Illinois, Fort Branch, Indiana, McClanesboro, Illinois, here in Evansville, Oakland City, Indiana, and Albin, Illinois. We're looking forward eagerly to being back in Warwick County and Gibson County with the missionaries to America, hopefully in Jackson County, Indiana, and Henderson County, Kentucky, and Wabash County, Illinois, and wherever else God opens doors. In June, July and August, summer surge will take fair share to as many tri-state counties as possible.
