Ep. 1892 What REALLY Happened to Prigozhin?

Broadcast on:
24 Aug 2023

Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has reportedly been killed in a plane crash. Video has surfaced of a plane, appearing to have lost a wing by way of an explosion, crashing to the ground, with reports that all 3 pilots and 7 passengers are dead. Russian media are reporting that Prigozhin's name was on the passenger list. To be clear, we are still awaiting corroboration as to whether Prigozhin was on board. So is that what ultimately killed Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin? Betrayal? That’s what many are saying!     Highlights:
  • “News of the crash came as Vladimir Putin was attending a ceremony honoring the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Battle of Kursk. And of course, images of the Godfather attending the baptism while all his enemies were getting whacked come to mind, of course from Francis Ford Coppola's epic, and that of course, begs the question: was this retribution for what Prigozhin did just weeks back?”
  • “Prigozhin had a major rivalry with Russian military leadership, particularly the minister of defense, Shoigu, as well as the Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov. It was a feud that had been going on for months, Prigozhin posted a number of very public, insubordinate comments about Shoigu and the Russian military leadership in general over the last few months, and it appeared to reach critical mass; he garnered a number of her Wagner troops to the city of Rostov-on-Don near the Donbass, and basically threatened to storm into Moscow and take over the leadership of the Russian military!”
  • “Putin said that those who organized and prepared the military rebellion, who raised arms against their comrades-in-arms, betrayed Russia. And they will answer for it. They betrayed Russia and I don’t forgive betrayal! And of course, the mutiny failed, and a deal was worked out where Prigozhin was allowed to basically exile himself to Belarus!”
  • “We have to remember that Prigozhin was the leader of the Wagner campaign to take the strategic Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, which he successfully did, and it was the bloodiest, most prolonged battle of the special military operation. In other words, Prigozhin is a hero in Russia, but to Ukraine he’s the most villainous person second only to Putin!”
