• "Trump would say that's only because they're really smart. You would too. If you ran a nation and you found that another nation that was very wealthy and had lots of, you know, nuclear secrets and cyber secrets and the like. You would buy your end, but you found out that they were all crooked. All the leaders you'd buy your way of influence there as well. Chinese are very smart, but they are not our enemy once a new conservative age rises.” 
• “And all of a sudden you get to this really smooth surface. That's nice. And the joke is the smooth surface is the Japanese side of the road, the bumpy, crappy, you know, cheap so that's the Chinese. So yes, China is going to have to raise the game of quality because Japan is very admiring of China's strategy of basically garnering loyalty through acts of goodwill and investment.” 
• “We're finding several Belt and Road initiatives going on concurrently at the same time in Africa and the Middle East. And that's going to be a real blessing for those countries, to be honest with you, in terms of building them, forcing China to get to a better quality.”
