Well Being with Don Oakley

The Hard Problem of Consciousness

In neuroscience , there is the "hard problem of consciousness." The hard question is: "How is consciousness generated from this wet mass of brain cells" Of course, if you start with a false assumption, you will never get a true answer. (That's what makes it so hard!) Researchers can locate which parts of the brain are associated with different experiences and abilities, but that's not the same as consciousness. Do we just need to give science more time to figure it out or is the whole approach flawed from the get-go?
