It is relatively easy to see the consequences of wanting more sensory pleasure, but wanting eternal bliss or wanting what annoys us to disappear are often much more challenging to recognize as desires to be investigated. It is not the arising of desire itself that is problematic; it is our failure to see it for what it is. It is the uninvestigated that controls us.
