Well Being with Don Oakley

Content with Your Content

Why don’t we just go ahead and admit to one another that we’ve all been thoroughly conditioned—by parents, teachers, friends and our past experiences. That conditioning affects our thoughts, feelings, speech and behavior. Some conditioning we like; some we don’t. And we can spend a great deal of our life energy trying to fix the conditioning that we don’t like, that is, the content of who we take ourselves to be. Perhaps, if we were content with that content, our energies could be devoted to finding out who it is that is always trying to fix that content.
