Yesterday, former First Lady Melania Trump calling for calm and asking America to come together after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, she made her thoughts clear in a tweet on eggs, writing, quote, "When I watched that violent bullet strike, my husband, I realized my life and Baron's life were on the brink of devastating change." Melania then calling for unity across the country in the wake of what happened, writing, "I am thinking of you now, my fellow Americans. We have always been a unique union, America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered. But our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one." By the way, the FBI saying what happened on Saturday was absolutely an assassination attempt. They're also calling it an act of domestic terrorism, a gunman and one Trump supporter, a loving father of three are dead. Two other attendees are still critically injured in the hospital. This is the moment when shots rang out. Trump saying on social media, the bullet hit the upper part of his right ear. Early yesterday, the FBI, identifying the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, secret service agents, fatally shot him. He shot at Trump from a nearby rooftop. They believed his dad was the one who purchased that gun about six months ago. They're not quite sure when or how his son obtained the gun and what the motive was. I had heard long in this six months. I heard six years. I don't know if it was... Oh, okay. So I heard it was that it was a family weapon that he had had for a while, but there could be something new that just came out. Did you hear the story about... This has not been confirmed to me. Please note that. But I heard a story somewhere and I can't remember where because I feel like I've been watching this all weekend where a police officer went up on that rooftop, saw him there, saw the gun, went back down the ladder to maybe get help, I'm assuming. And that's when all of this happened. He then pointed one at it. I don't get it. Here's the thing I don't get. I heard... Yeah, I did hear that. And I saw that the sheriff of that area commented on it saying, "Well, if he didn't do that, we would have a dead police officer." And I'm thinking, "Doesn't the guy not have a radio?" Every video I saw was people pointing up to this guy and saying, "Look what's up there." And I still don't understand this. And I know the Secret Service did a phenomenal job of jumping on top of former President Trump. But they scope out areas before, "How do you leave a rooftop without people?" Can you play... I think I have a clip in there called Trump supporter. There were so many different people that were interviewed, that were in the crowd saying, "We all saw that we all saw this guy on the rooftop and we were telling officers and we were yelling and we were pointing and nobody did anything." One weird thing I thought was weird, there was no Secret Service on top of the AGR building. They were across the field where Donald Trump was. So I don't think they could have heard us at the time because how far the distance was until they started seeing the chaos of people start rotting and screaming. Yeah, but so many people said, "We were pointing. We were yelling." President Biden talking about the shooter during one of his speeches to the nation over the weekend. "We do not know the motive of the shooter yet. We don't know his opinions or affiliations. We don't know whether he had help or support or if he communicated with anyone else." There's more from the President. "Yesterday shooting at Donald Trump's rally in Pennsylvania calls on all of us to take a step back, take stock of where we are, how we go forward from here, thankfully former Trump is not seriously injured." Thankfully, he's not injured. Since we're talking about craziness, I don't know how the Secret Service allows him to say, "Let me put my shoes on and not just rush him out of there." And then I don't know how they allow him to step forward and put his fists in the air when you have no idea if the first shot is a distraction, if there are more people in there. Like, I have no idea how he was able to step forward. I was actually surprised. I was surprised by that, too. I also thought it was weird, too, that if you watch the video at the end when they're going towards the car, there was a couple of Secret Service agents, a female Secret Service agent, that couldn't even get her gun and her holster and was having a hard time. Like, there was a lot of crazy stuff. And I was like, "Of course you train for these moments, but nothing is ever like being put in a real situation, obviously, but some of this stuff is interesting." And other dirty this morning, I really couldn't believe it when I heard it. Alec Baldwin's involuntary manslaughter case dismissed and he burst into tears when that news came down in the courtroom. This missile with prejudice is warranted to ensure the integrity of the judicial system and the efficient administration of justice. Your motion to dismiss with prejudice is granted. Yeah, so that's Judge Mary Marlow-Somer that you're hearing and she dismissed the case based on the misconduct of police and prosecutors over the withholding of evidence from the defense, Alec Baldwin faced 18 months in prison if he was convicted. And lastly, Southwest Airlines, they're adding 10 flights to their schedule in October to accommodate Swifties trying to see Taylor's shows. Southwest saw a 10% bump in bookings in US markets where Taylor had stops on the eras tour last year and it expects the same to happen when the eras tour returns to the US in the fall. The Miami, New Orleans, Fort Lauderdale, yeah, I'm trying. I'm looking at some of the flight schedule. I don't know. I'm looking at some of the flight schedules, but they're adding a ton of flights to those specific cities so that people can get there. She's not tired. I'm unbelievable. Like, come on, bro. Haven't we had enough? We've had too many eras tours. Come on. How many hours of show time has it been? I'll buy some more. How many hours per show? But that's what I've seen on Beno 90 was 90 times three hours for like, come on. That she's had a hundred feet. Don't hurt. Like, what's going on? More money. Do you need? Right? That's a mate. By the way, I will say this though. This is the shocker shockers. Lydia, tell everybody how many of her shows have you been to 14 and Toronto will be 15. You're alive. All right. All right. All right. That's why her mom's doing her. She never home. Check out the podcast on the iHeart Radio. If you have it's free or mojo-the-morning.com. Missed something in the journey on the 30.
