This is the Mojo in the morning podcast, powered by Michigan Auto Law, auto accident attorneys visit auto law.com. That's auto law.com Mojo in the morning's dirty on the 30. All right, Shannon with the latest on the assassination attempt over the weekend and what's going on, Shannon. Well, in the wake of Saturday's assassination attempt, former President Donald Trump urging our nation yesterday to come together. The moment shots were fired during his rally in Pennsylvania Saturday evening. If you want to really see something to say, take a look at what happened. And before the Secret Service escorted him off stage, he told them to wait, pumped his fist in the air, and that is that photo that we have seen for the past 48 hours. In a post on his truth, social, he expressed support for the other victims, writing, quote, "We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded and hold in our hearts the memories of the citizen who was so horribly killed." In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand united, show our true character as Americans remaining strong and determined and not allowing evil to win. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro says he spoke with the widow, excuse me, of Corey Comparatori, the man who lost his life at that rally, saying he died the hero, diving on to his family to protect them when the shooting happens. Corey was a girl dead. Corey was a firefighter. Corey went to church every Sunday. Corey loved his community. And most especially Corey loved his family. Corey was an avid supporter of the former president and was so excited to be there last night with him in the community. I asked Corey's wife if it would be okay for me to share that we spoke. She said yes. She also asked that I share with all of you that Corey died a hero. The Corey dove on his family to protect them last night at this rally. Corey was the very best of us. May his memory be a blessing. The Trump campaign has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the victims of Saturday's rally. That page has raised more than $3.4 million as of late last night, right before I went to bed, I checked it. He had rock donated 50 grand. I saw Dana White, president of the UFC donating the same Ivanka Trump donating 10 grand among many, many other donations. And then there's a separate GoFundMe page for Corey's family that has raised more than three quarters of a million dollars. Now, the former president traveled to New Jersey late Saturday night after leaving a hospital to spend the night at his golf club in Bedburn, Sturm said he looks forward to speaking to the nation this week from Wisconsin. I know the Republican National Convention opens today in Milwaukee. And by the way, the head of the Secret Service for the RNC, Audrey Gibson says plans for security there will not change in the wake of Saturday's incident. During our extensive planning efforts, we have accounted for various security scenarios that may arise and we are confident in a plan we have implemented for the Republican National Convention this week. That security plan will remain in place. Yeah, the only thing that will change is Trump's speech. He is ripping up what he had written. I believe he's speaking on Thursday. Is that correct? I think so they said he might actually come out a couple of times before then. Yeah, but supposedly he will deliver a speech that will focus on promoting the unity of our nation instead. Great reporting, Shannon. If you can, can you play that first clip you did that shots fire is just is crazy when you listen to the clip, what he says before the shot. Listen to exactly what he says. If you want to really see something that said, take a look at what happened. If you want to see something that said, take a look. That's crazy. You know what went to me was wild was watching the coverage and them talking about him turning his head at that moment and how they said there was one of the reporters. I think it was one of the first reporters that got an interview with him that said typically he doesn't really turn to the left or to the right. He usually goes and just looks straight on. And she was saying that he turned at that particular moment. And I think it was to his right. And that was what saved his life was that going right by his head. I appreciated hearing President Biden come out and speak and refer to him as Donald and talk about their conversation with each other because I have to tell you this, I remember the days when we would have politics and people would run for office. And then in the end, and I'll go back to you know, I was friends with John McCain. I was actually good friends with him back when we lived in Arizona. And when he ran for President, I remember him telling us on the show because he would come on the show and do interviews with us. And so did he ran against President Barack Obama. But he talked about him in the negative on the air during the interview. And then after the election was over, he said positive things about him and how he was happy to work with him. We need to get back to this. I don't know what will happen over the course of the next few months. I hope if there's anything at all in this world is that we start getting humanity back in this world. You know what I mean? Like to me, you know, I've never ever seen, I've never seen a president or a presidential candidate die of an assassination because it happened with Kennedy. I did see as a kid, a president get shot. I saw the Ronald Reagan one. I was a little kid and I will never ever forget being in school and they showed us that. And to me it forever changed me because I did see a man James Brady was his press secretary and they actually have the Brady bill because of him. But I saw a man almost lose his life with this and I saw that what that took place. I mean, I've heard this comment and I know the president Biden said this yesterday. If you don't like somebody, you do it at the ballot. You don't do it with bullets. Yeah. And I think that this is another case obviously of a very mentally ill, sad person. And we need to figure stuff out with guns too. You know what I mean? But I'm not going to get, I don't want to get political because I know that people will then hate on me. You get 50% of the country that hates on you when you talk about anything political. But if anything, let's just love each other. I am friends with people who do not have my same political beliefs. And that's it. And I think we all should be, right? We all should love people. Yeah, for sure. We love each other. I love you. And I listen, I love you. And I don't love Chipotle as much as that you love. You guys are going to sleep over tonight. Wrong again. All right. In other dirty this morning, the media is calling it chaos at the copa. That tickets for yesterday is Copa America's ochre final climb for an extra long slot of the still grand pass security. Let's talk Martinez. Some fans were trying to climb into the ventilation system an hour before the Argentina Columbia match at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Great game, by the way, the situation forced an over hour delay in the kickoff of that match at least 15. People were arrested. I know seven people are still in the hospital receiving treatment for what happened this morning. Legendary fitness guru Richard Simmons has died at the age of 76. No, these are sweating over a lot of things right now, but not their workouts. Look, you can sit around all day long and go on and off those flavor of the month diets, but you will never succeed in your goals to feeling better until you find an exercise program. You can fall in love with. Does he get buried in those shorts? I mean, come on, right? Like over the soup hands. The LAPD responding to his home early on Saturday after a call from his housekeeper, he died of natural causes, no suspicion of foul play. I know he was diagnosed with skin cancer. He revealed that earlier this year, but my favorite. I listened to Howard's show on Sirius and when Howard Stern will play Gary, which is him referring to Gary. Yeah. And I got to end on a happy story. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, have revealed they are expecting a baby number three together. She shared that news on Instagram sharing some photos of the baby scans and she captioned the post around three. Here we come. How dangerous is it to unwrap a burger at 40 miles per hour? More so than you think.
