Launched in early 2020, Koo drew people's attention when it won the government’s Atmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge. The microblogging site was co-founded by entrepreneurs Aprameya Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidwatka. Most recently, it saw its user base shoot up while the government and Twitter were involved in a tussle.
