You know, people are celebrating throughout the city, throughout New England. And we've got my friend, Macy on the phone from Ocean Havens in Boston. Macy, you there? I'm here. Good morning. What? We need a clear phone line. Hello. Try that again. Good morning. Can you hear me? There you are. So all kinds of things, people don't realize there are two sets of fireworks in the city of Boston. Obviously the Esplanade, the Boston pops the 4th of July, but there are fireworks in the city on Boston Harbor tonight, right? That's correct tonight. We're going to be kicking off with a pre fireworks concert from the US Navy band. That's going to be happening in Christopher Columbus Park and then the fireworks are going to be happening over the harbor probably around 9 15 p.m. They're going to be set off from a barge right outside a long work. So the waterfront is going to be the place to be to check out those fireworks. He's got harbor walks on the north end Boston yacht. He's been here, Charles down East Boston. The waterfront is where it's going to be to catch those fireworks and any any one of those points of interest you just mentioned would be a great viewing point. That's correct. Yeah. Boy, the US Navy band, that's a take in. And by the way, speaking of the Navy, there's a giant battleship that just pulled into town. I think it was yesterday, the US says Oscar Austin. Yep. So, yeah, it's really a great time to be in Boston 4th of July. Now the charter fest happens, I think, starts today this afternoon. Yep, charter fest is going to be in downtown cross saying there's so much to do all throughout the city. Downtown in the waterfront is going to be your hub for happening and you can check out the full schedule on bostonharberfest.com, but we've got music and activities in Christopher Columbus Park today. The Greenway Carousel, they're going to be doing free carousel rides. It'd be lots of fun for the kids. Shower fest, of course, samples from local chowder, a boat for your favorite, enjoy some music. Tomorrow, we've got a fashion show, Macy's of downtown cross and then, of course, the There's an ice cream social downtown. I mean, there is just so much to do. Mesa, do you need a ticket for any of these events or are they all free? Most of them are free. A lot of them are free and open to the public. There's a handful you have to pay tickets for, but all the ones that I just mentioned are going to be totally open and free for anyone to enjoy. Now, how about the tall ship over on the east boston side of the harbor? There's a lot of events going on over there. The township is always a fun time and that's going to be great for the fireworks. You're on the east boston side, but not only are you going to see the fireworks, but you're going to have a view of that boston skyline in the background, so it's going to be awesome. It's got really good food, great drinks and a whole lot of fun. Lisa, have you been to the tall ship on the east boston side of the harbor? Not in a while, but I should go back, definitely. It's an incredible project. I know Charlie Lerner is a good buddy of mine. He bought this tall ship in Canada. It's a legitimate tall ship from Canada. He had it tugged all the way to boston. He rehabbed the whole justin. You would love it with the kids too, because there's a big promenade where they have food trucks and merch shops and then you get up on the deck of the tall ship. Oh, I might have to come check it out. I'm telling you, for the july week, this is when to do it. There's a lot going on in the city. Now I know Yacht Haven in in marina is part of ocean havens. Can people gather on the dock down there? You can gather on the end of the pier. There's a lot of public harbor walk all along the harbor in boston, so Yacht Haven's downtown north end. The seaport. We've got a beautiful harbor walk at fan pier marina over in charles down in the navy yard. Lots of public space for you to gather on the waterfront and catch a great view of those fireworks. You know, I should probably mention charles town marina was named number one marina in America. Yes, it was. Little rock over there and macy, you're part of that company. So congratulations for that. Which story is up next in an interesting fireworks warning. Billy and Lisa. This one away. Okay, I can't believe this happened. But I did. A chicken in Canada broke a world record by correctly identifying six numbers, letters and colors in under a minute. Here is that Emily Carrington giving us an example of how they taught the chickens to do this. Some of the chickens are doing really well. So I'm going to make a trial and test them and see how they're doing. I would give each chicken six chances to get it right. And I would draw the D and the B randomly out of a bag to see which would go on the left and which would go on the right. When I was practicing with the D and the B, I used the same letter. So the D got continually packed and it became a little bit discolored. And I think the chickens learned to tell the letters apart based on the shape and the color and the little dents rather than the way the letter was facing. This is like groundbreaking. Yeah. Yeah. You don't think of chickens as smart. Not at all. No. They have tiny little heads. Like tiny little heads. Yeah. Yeah. It's true. This is amazing to me. I don't know how we can possibly beat that. But I'll give it a shot, there's a family in Australia accused now, or rather accusing an Italian restaurant of serving them insect killer instead of cranberry juice. Here's that family. The cranberry juice came. My daughters went to gulp it down and they both spat the cranberry juice out and said it's poisoned like really disgusting and like how you'd expect like insect propellant to taste like. Like somebody had pulled fire in your stomach and I was scared that I was going to die. And it felt like you had pins and needles in your arms and legs. How do they know what insect killer tastes like? Right. Maybe by the smell of it. Maybe. Yeah. But that's why would they serve insect killer? I don't know. But they're all right. Yeah. That's the good news that they were unharmed in it. Yeah, that's good. The good news. Oh boy. Winnie, where did you go? This is an interesting combination. There's a man in Northern California who was pulled over for no headlights, right? When they pulled him over, they noticed he was wearing a Jason. What was he wearing? A Jason mask. He was. Sort of like Freddy vs Jason. But the scarier part is that he had an unregistered AR-15 in the backseat. Oh boy. So was he planning on doing something that day? Well, mask and gun. Yeah. Yeah. I had a weird, I was explaining to producer Riley this morning that I had a weird fascination as a kid with Friday the 13th. It was my favorite movie. Mm-hmm. When I was a child. I don't know. Jason. That's crazy to me because Lisa loves like end of the world stuff, but she'll watch us die of parasites all day. Absolutely. There was several. Yeah. Yeah. The original guy was Hooper. Told Hooper or something. Yeah. It's a good movie. I don't want to scare anyone. Yeah. But I'm going to give it to you straight about Jason. Yeah. His body was never recovered from the lake after we drowned. Have you listened to the old timers in town? That's how you're still out there? Mm-hmm. Some sort of demented creature. Yeah. Yeah. Surviving the wilderness. Full ground by now. Shh. Shh. Anyway. He's so scared. Yeah. Scary story, too. And it's serious. A five-year-old girl was left on a school bus in Louisiana during a summer school program. And she was left on the bus for five hours by herself. No. She didn't get breakfast. She didn't get lunch. She was on that bus in this hot heat for five hours. She walked up and down the bus. She was selling us. She started crying and she stopped crying and she started praying to Jesus for Jesus the helper. I don't get the leaving kids in a lot of cars. Yeah. I just, I'll never understand. But, I mean, the bus, part of your job is when you're parking the bus at the end of your shift, you go through the bus and make sure there's no one in there. You know what? It's just row by row. What's interesting is I have a, I have a 2022 car. It's a Ford and it has, when I leave, it says to check the back seat for kids. Which is actually kind of, it's good, but it's sad because like you forget your kids, but I guess it happens all the time. But literally I don't even have kids and every time I leave, it goes, did you check the back seat? It's like ding, ding, ding. Well, you always have your niece with you too. I do have my niece with a lot, but like, I don't forget them. I'm glad that they put that safety feature in. Yeah. They do have a technology. It's good. Funny, my son's bus driver wants to kick him off before he even gets on once you keep driving right by, right by my house, 22 year old woman in Florida got arrested for assaulting your boyfriend. Are you ready? Morehead breaking his phone all because he refused to cuddle. Yeah, she's a biter. Okay. Well, she wants to cuddle. Why doesn't he want to cuddle? Some guys aren't coddlers. Yeah. So, um, Elmo, you know, Elmo from Sesame Street, he is warning a town in Texas not to use fireworks. Yeah. I don't think it's the real Elmo, but they did their best. Elmo has something very important to tell you, using or having fireworks in well work is a big no no. You can end up with a fine up to $2,000 and that's a lot of cookies. Elmo loves cookies, fireworks nights seem fun, but they can cause big problems. You know, this morning is for you, Justin, because you're one of those guys that buys a thousand dollars worth of fireworks. Yeah. Something's gonna happen. I'm going tomorrow night. Yeah. That makes a lot of sense. Absolutely. I think it's the biggest deal in the history of the NBA. And they also signed a four year, $126 million deal with Derek Wright. It's all good news. Talk about earning it though. Derek earned that. Oh, yeah. Oh, man. He was spent. I wonder if he got his teeth. But he came off the bench. Yeah. Yeah. He was he played off the bench. Look at him now. We also had Steve Cooper from channel seven on to talk about the mistrial, but something else happened outside the courthouse yesterday. An escaped prisoner ran right by him, literally between live shots and I hear a door open. I'm thinking, well, what's that? Now, listen to the guy come running out of the side of the courthouse. And I'm like, is that a prisoner? And I said, I think so. Yeah, I was on a ex Twitter and Steve Cooper. It was literally running after the inmate while filming and his camera crew was running to the greatest thing ever, which isn't easy. I mean, the big camera on the shoulder on the guys running down after the escape. You would think in 2024 with the advancement of technology that the cameras would have gotten smaller. They have. Oh, they have. He just didn't have one. Trust me on that. Hold on. The big ones barely existed. But he's covering the one of the biggest cases in the nation. Yeah. And they send the guy with the big camera. All that means is channel seven hasn't invested. Okay. Well, they're smaller and better. Yeah. But yeah, a mistrial was called with Katherine Loftus in to break it all down. And the first question we had for her is, are we going to know the jury count or not? I think that's what everybody wants to know. And the question is we might never know. It depends on if a juror comes out and tells us. Did she say if a juror comes out? Is that what she said? Yeah. I think the pandemic, I think a lot of people work from home and are able to adjust their schedule. People weren't working from home. No. They were standing outside the courthouse. But they could be there in the daytime and then changing their schedule tonight. You know what I mean, Lisa? Like you can make your own schedule when you work from home. So that could be part of it. So the pink people driving in from Alabama, what are they brought to like working from the car? Yeah, I don't know. It's crazy. It's crazy. Wow. Anyway, we're running late here.
