It's the best of Billy and Lisa in the morning. And here we go. Good morning, everybody. Happy Saturday. It is just in. It's about that time. I have your top five moments of the week from the Billy and Lisa show. We're going to count them down five to one. It was a busy one. A lot of Karen Reed coverage. We played some games. We had a lot of fun. So let's get right into it. Number five was all about Billy Costa and his big African safari trip that's coming up this year. Justin has this weird obsession with my trip to Africa in October. He keeps calling me in and I think he wants to talk about something legitimately about this show. And he wants to show me more videos of people being mutilated and dragged and mauled. No, he's he's he's he's he's hyping it up. It's not. I'm fascinated because Michelle, your beautiful wife, who's a dear friend of all of ours. Yeah. She thinks she's and arrow. Oh, she really does. No, she really does. And it's really, it's really cute. And you know what, Billy was showing me some videos of like the Gorilla's Nest. It's this resort in Africa. No, listen to this, Lisa. You go there. It's a it's a resort. And then you go out with a gorilla expert into the wild. Yeah. They're not in cages. They're in the way she's going, right? Oh, yeah. Next year, she's doing her own trip to the gorillas. You will not be with her for that trip. You need to know something about her love of gorillas. If I were mauled on the expedition, she would walk over my mauled and mutilated body to get to the gorillas. Well, she's like a gorilla whisper. She's like Jane Austen. Exactly or not Jane Austen. That's a writer. Oh, Jane Goodall. Jane, right, Jane. Yeah. Hey, Justin. I've forgotten the name of the actress again, who is in the King Kong movie. There are several of them. Naomi Watts is one. Oh, yes. It wasn't what was what is they say? It wasn't it wasn't something that killed the beast. It was beauty killed the beast. That's going to be a Neil. Naomi Watts. There's been several actresses that have played Jessica Lang. Jessica Lang and yeah, Michelle Costa. The beauty who charmed the beast and starring the eighth wonder of the world. King Kong. Yeah. She's going to be the beauty that tames the beast. Can I just say one thing about his beautiful wife Michelle? Billie's upset because Michelle wants Billie to wear cargo pants. Yes. Wait, wait, wait, that again, that is your issue. You've been fighting. That's what he's concerned about. I don't want to go and get small to death. I want people to come back here in one piece. I'll be here in ashes and your main concern is you get to wear cargo pants. Okay. Do you have any need to start it? You need to answer it. I really don't want to go. But yeah, every day I get home, right? She's got catalogs open up safari wear. Yeah. Like I'm like, I'm not dressing up for safari. You have to just commit to this. You already spending a ton of money on the flight in the party. No, so the so the gorilla expert that brings you into the jungle to have a wild gorillas in their family. His name is Francois. He's wearing cargo pants. Of course he is, but I'm not. All right, let's see. She says, oh, you need special boots and and the hat like, what are you going to wear golf pants? No, I'm just going to wear whatever I wear. Do you have safari? Oh, do you folks have hiking boots? They're fluff hookah or whatever. The hocus? Yeah. Let me tell you, dude, if you go to the safari with an outfit from Allen Ghibli, they're going to eat you. You've got to go full. I don't think they want you to wear bright colors. You should be a camo. You're going to be a target. Anyway, let's go to the people. Good morning, Billy, Lisa, Winnie, and Justin. I was just overhearing that Billy is going on safari in Africa. And I'm also going on safari in Africa. And people also send me a boatload of videos of people getting killed or like trampled by elephants or whatever. But I want to know if Billy had any tips or any advice on what to travel with. Yeah, do I have tips? I don't know anything about it. Cargo pants. Cargo pants. You know, yesterday, friends were asking me where I'm going in Africa. I couldn't tell them. Oh my God. He's going to be like, you know, those dads that go to like dicks or like, you know, one of those, you know, what's the other one? The Bass Pro shop. And they have those ugly, like shoes on. Like the fly Fisherman? Yeah. Oh my God. He's going to stick out like a sore phone. Oh my God. I would die to see that. So let me ask you this, Billy. Is there any like part of you that's jealous at all at her, her love for the gorilla? Oh, um, seems no, I got to tell you, it's bizarre how connected she is to a gorilla's. It's bizarre. And it makes me feel so inadequate. Right. Well, you know what? I mean, because if she's eyeballing gorillas, which she was with me, I know, you know, you know, you need to do, you need to switch your whole game plan. No, Billy, you need to switch the whole game plan up. You need to come at a different angle. You need to be more aggressive like this. King Kong ain't got I think you should go home and watch Tarzan. And that will give you some inspiration. And she can be Jane. And you can meet Tarzan. Oh, that's very playful. Yeah. I'll let my car go out for that. Like me Tarzan, you. Yeah, honey, let's go, baby. It's Safari time. Coffee time. And on the best moments of the week from the Billy and Lisa show, it's just in here. Welcome in everybody. Number four is one of our weird stories segments. We do that every day at 815. And the cool part about it is you never know what you're going to hear. So the hottest thing trending on social right now, if you've missed it, or if you've heard it, and you don't know what it is, it's the Hawk to a girl who names Haley Welch. And she became Instagram and social media famous because of something that she said that's sort of very sexual in nature. I think we have it, right? I'll give you the short version because it's not safe for work or for kids. I make that clear. Oh, you got to give them that hook to it. Yeah, there's more to it than that. But that's the gist of it. So she now is selling merch. Yeah. She's got Hock to a hat. We talked about it a few days ago. Yeah. You can find me at fadhead threads.com if you want to order one. Yeah. So the hunt for the Hock to a girl was on since this video came out. She was found she's from Nashville. Her name is Haley Welch. Yeah. And everybody up to it, including Conor McGregor, UFC fighter, has been searching for the girl. They found her. Now Connor follows her. He's really into the Hock to a girl. Oh boy. There are now, huh? He is. Thank you for asking. He's he's injured. He was supposed to fight. But now the fight's called off. He has an injury. So now he's at home nursing his injury, following the Hock to a girl. But now there are songs being made, of course, to the several memes about the Hock to a girl. Underneath the moonlight, star shining bright. She went up to up and spied on that thing. What a pretty sight. You know, there's a lot of I have to say good for her. She's really capitalizing off of this. Yeah, she's really at royalties on the song there. I don't know. That was an AI version there. But then there's like, you know, country remixes. It's become a viral sensation. So you know what next week there'll be something is just a joke. She is going to make million million dollars sadly. Well, you know, but other people are using her to make money. So I'm happy she at least is getting something. Yeah. Okay. Little behind the scenes on weird stories. Okay. Justin, who operates out of the executive suite studio that we see him through the glass, he brings us the weird stories. Okay, he chooses them and he brings them. He actually hands them out. Right? Lisa, you get yours when he gets hers and I get mine. I know what you're up to, dude. Okay. Right away. Now that he knows I'm going to Africa on safari. Every day now, he's going to get me a story about somebody that was dragged, mauled and stampled on in Africa. So here we go. A US tourist. That would be me. Killed by an elephant in the Zambian city of Livingston this week. Now, you know, you go on safari. You're in these vehicles and you're driving through and you know, you happen upon animals. Well, apparently there was a traffic delay. Yeah, let's just let's just go to the news from here. Yeah, why don't we do that? Officials say 64 year old Julianna Latino died when an elephant and the tourists were watching attack their vehicle in Africa, the southern province, police. Hold on before I continue. So Bill, when you go on the safari, are you and your beautiful wife, Michelle, going to be doing safari tours like with a car? Expeditions. Yeah. Look at the animal. Okay. I'm sure. The mission says, well, turno was thrown from the vehicle and trampled by the elephant. Zambian authorities say tourists need to exercise extreme caution while observing wildlife. Oh my god. What does that even mean? Obviously, you're observing extreme caution, right? You're in the wild. You're in the bush. You don't have control over what's going to happen, which is what I keep telling my wife. You don't really, especially because a lot of these attacks are not accidental, but a lot of time these animals attack when they feel like you're, you know, coming after their their children. Yeah. You know, the babies. Yeah. What you don't mean to do, you know, so I mean, there's a lot of different reasons why they attack, but right, you don't have control unless you're taunting the animal. So Justin comes up to me earlier this morning and says, so where about you going on this trip to Africa? And I mentioned one particular place called Victoria Falls. Yeah. What does he do? Immediately pulls up several stories about people who have been hurled over the fall. No, I'm now obsessed with this story. So he's going, Lisa, this falls place. It's nicknamed the devil's pool. Beautiful waterfall where you can swim out ready for this. It's very, the waterfall is very tall. You can swim to the edge and you are being held by the locals. Yeah. They hold your body so you don't fall off. They keep you from going over the edge. The issue is that so many Instagrammers, influencers are going there to take pictures. Yeah. And they're falling off the wall. Oh my god. What I would get. Oh my god. I can't wait for this to be poured by a rhino or something. All right. So the Karen retrial is all anyone's talked about for the past, I don't know, eight weeks. We've covered it extensively on the Billy and Lisa show. And I kind of a cool moment this week. We had Steve Cooper from channel seven check in. He was live outside the courthouse kind of breakdown. What was going on? Let's go to Steve. Number three, we've got our guys Steve Cooper from channel seven news on the line. And he is basically outside the courthouse at the Karen retrial right now. Coop you there. You're not basically I am outside. And you've been outside. I'm pretty sure with 100% confidence outside. Yeah. Now, Coop, you're not wearing pink, are you? No, I'm not. Okay. I coop. I just want to say this. I think I've said it to you before. I'm a channel seven guy. Okay. If you go in my office, channel seven is on if I'm home, I'm usually got channel seven on. So there I said it again. You shake that. What about you? We'll talk about that after. So okay. What's going on down there right now? Yeah. So I mean, everybody's, you know, kind of mounting up and getting ready for this third day of deliberations. The jury's doing it nine o'clock this morning. You know, they're busting every day from a secret location where they all meet up and they come in and you know, the security around and they'll head in and begin their third day of deliberations. And then of course, the question is, will we see any more drama in the courtroom like we saw yesterday morning when we saw that little spat between the judge and what she had to say to Karen Reid, of course. Oh, yeah. Now, Steve, you're one of the few guys that manages to get a question in with the lawyers or even with Karen Reid. Is there entering or coming out of the courtroom? Yeah. I mean, you know, it's funny because, you know, they come in and they go out and each day that the crowd gets bigger and larger and you know, you try to get a question in and sometimes they want to talk to us and sometimes they don't. But, you know, you try to muscle in and, you know, again, it's just to see how they're feeling about the day, what happened and, you know, give us a sense of, you know, how they think this thing is going. Hey, Steve, does Karen Reid have security? Oh, yeah. She has a lot of security. It's been growing by the day and I was saying someone's morning yesterday when she was leaving the courthouse probably for the first time, I realized there was a chain of people around her security. So much to the point where I literally could barely get my microphone in between some of the security people that were around her. And then, of course, I was told that by David Yanetti yesterday, said Steve, she's she's not commenting today. Oh, now Steve, be honest. Okay. You and I are friends. Is there a part of you that once in a while wonders if you're going to end up in the documentary? A part of me? All of me. That's a goal. Now, you know, I was I was in the Aaron Hernandez one. I've been in one for the Patriots one. You know, I mean, what do you think I'm doing out there? There you go. I'm hoping this conversation's on Netflix. There you go. So are we. No, why do you think I called you today? I love you. Now, Steve, you you've got a trademark like when you do snowstorms and storm coverage and things like that. You always have props that you use to kind of make fun or have fun. Do you have any props outside the courthouse for the read trial? Yeah. I mean, the only props I had yesterday was holding up those three verdict slips. Oh, yeah. Because after they had that, you know, the dust up yesterday in the courtroom, I wanted to see them and I want to show everybody at home physically. I had copies of what they looked like just so people could see them and understand what sort of the debate was about yesterday. And it was sort of a, you know, a word debate, you know, where to put this word and that word and I get all that the jury's out. But the jury doesn't know any of this debate is going on. Of course, they're behind closed doors. Wow. So see, what do you make of all the people that get out there every day early in the morning dressed in pink? What do you make of these folks? I think that, you know, this is, you know, I've covered a lot of trials over the past 25 years of channel seven and clear, and I talked to a lot of prosecutors. I talked to a lot of defense attorneys and clearly this is one of the more high-profile ones. You know, why is that? People will be talking about for a long time, but this is just, you know, when the music stopped, this is the one that everyone was interested in. There's a lot of cases going on right now. There are a lot of other trials in Massachusetts going on right now. But for some reason, this one piqued the interest of everybody. And, you know, people that are out there have strong feelings about what they've heard and what they believe in the case, and they want to see justice. And, you know, you guys mentioned earlier, you know, you see all the people in pink out there. Where are the people on the other side? Yeah. Well, they're in other places. They're at home. They're watching it. I don't want to say that they're the silent blank, but they're the silent blank. They don't want to be out there holding signs. They're not interested in wearing pink shirts and umbrellas and all sorts of things. That's not how they want to, you know, show their support for the other side, if you will. What do you know about the school bus for the jury? It's a coach bus. Yeah. It's a bus. Fancy. So do they pick up and drop off at different locations? Yeah. And again, I, you know, and I've said this to you guys before, I don't want to breach anything of security. I think they're trying to keep the jurors safe. I think there's a, you know, talk about security for Karen Reed, I think the security for the jurors here because, again, they're in a really difficult position. They're going through, you know, two months of testimony, 70 witnesses, you know, we don't have their names right now. Those won't be made public till after the verdict is given out in return. And I think that's one of the things, and that's why the judge is being super careful right now. You know, there's cameras around, and they just don't want these people to be identified or threatened or anyone of a chance to approach them. So if anything that you take away from today is that is the key that they don't want anything to be disrupted. They just want it to be a clean verdict and let these people come up with their decision and make their decision. So given that that you just said that their names will be made public, can they ask that their name is not made public? No, they can't do that. But the judge can decide at what point they want to give out the list. And we've done this before. And what happens is whether it was after Hernandez, that trial, whether it was after the Lopes trial, in the Michael Chestnut case, will give us the list of 12 names. So actually give us all the names, including the alternates, just their names. And then we as reporters have to try to figure out how how to track them down where they live. And we have ways to do that. And we go knocking on their doors and we show up outside in their driveways and we show up where they work. And some people want to talk to us and some people don't want to talk to us. And some of the houses, we go to so-and-so's house and they say, I'm not the juror. And we say, we think you are and we'll have a discussion. Wow. You've got to be first, Coop. You've got to get them first. But I've got some of them want to talk, right? Some want to talk. Some want to talk. Some don't want to talk. You know, again, they're not living in a bubble. When they arrive at the courthouse, they see everything that you all see. And, you know, the question is, the only question is, can they put that aside? And just as the judge asked them to do, focus on the evidence, focus on what they heard, focus on what they want to discuss and believe and return a verdict. Well, Steve Cooper, Channel 7 News. Thank you so much for listening to us. And thanks for checking in. Let's hope this makes it to the documentary. I'll see you bud. Yeah, if you, if you're exhausted from the Karen Read trial and everything else, Lisa has a weird story about some peace and serenity that might interest you. We got weird stories coming up. Next is the Billie and Lisa Show. Hi guys. Good morning. Welcome back to Top 5 Moments of the Week from the Billie and Lisa Show. Justin here in your number two moment is another weird story segment with an idea. If you're tired and just need a break, maybe you can do what this guy is doing. Okay, we are all exhausted. We're overwhelmed. It's been such a busy couple of weeks in the Boston area. Well, how would you like to be alone in the middle of the Pacific Ocean? Well, there's a guy who goes by the name sailing a songbird online. He's currently sailing solo across the Pacific and he's documenting it on social. It is month one day 31 of sailing across the Pacific Ocean alone. I lost my sailboat. Just kidding. It's over there. I'm stuck here in the doldrums. There is no wind. So I pumped up my inflatable paddle board getting some exercise in. It is incredibly disorienting to be out on a paddle board with absolutely nothing on the horizon, except like a super cool sunset. I am well over a thousand miles away from any piece of land. And it's so quiet. It's so quiet. Boy, that's such a cool place to be. It's cool, but scary. I've seen a lot of his videos on TikTok and he shows you how he stores the food and water source because he's out there for like months or whatever it's in the being. And this is a first leg. He's gonna keep going once he gets to like the Pacific part that he's gonna go back around. I mean, he's doing this for months by himself like kind of like. And when the wind dies, so does your boat. Yeah. He was just chilling on a paddle board because he couldn't go anywhere. Yeah. Sailing Songbird. You could follow him. He's a middle school music teacher turned sailor from Seattle. That's yeah, currently in the Pacific Ocean. That's awesome. Yeah. He looks like Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. He's cute. He's a cute guy. Exactly. I saw this story yesterday. A woman accused of spiking her husband's mountain dew with Roundup, which is very, very poisonous. Yes. Like the grass. Yes. She was gradually putting it in his water bottles in the garage. Wow. That's all I could say. I just recently found out that she was working next door to me, but that doesn't make a difference. Is there more to the story? Yes, there is. And all that comes out in court. I just hope things work out the way it's supposed to through the judicial system. I'm talking about Mountain Dew's, baby. Oh, I don't want a psycho. Yeah. But just get divorced. I don't like your spouse. Usually it's antifreeze, but this one was rounded up. It's usually a money thing. It's usually, you know, some kind of, you know, they want to kill them and collect their money. Bill's like, she's being creative. She's put from antifreeze to Roundup. No, but I heard the reason she's doing it because this is a crazy person. She was upset that he didn't get excited enough about the birthday party she ran for. Oh, so she said, OK, really? All right. How's your round up? Oh, that's her revenge. Really? Oh, I thought it was funny. There's an argue in that way in that marriage. You better run a good birthday party, Justin with a Jen's birthday. Yeah, she can have horses and many horses. Speaking of weddings, birthday's weddings marriages, all that a guy named Paul slobbed it. I don't know how to say that. I'm going to try Paul slob. Oh, desertion was working at the door desk driver to make extra money to pay his wedding for his wedding. Yeah. And he left a little like, thank you. No, just saying, Oh, I'm doing this for extra money. If you want to leave an extra tip, you know, that would be greatly appreciated. It's going to help my wife us pay off our wedding. And they had to go fund me. And now their entire wedding is paid off. We didn't really expect anything to come up this. And the fact that a stranger got our note and felt so compelled to post on the internet and to advocate for two strangers is unbelievable. Mikey V is getting married. Is he aware of this? I mean, Mikey, you donate to my charity. I don't think Mikey means that. Yeah, that's that's doubtful. Yeah. It's a good story, though. Yeah. Lisa, what have we got? All right. So Swifties are going crazy because there was an actress who names Tony Hudson. And she did a commercial back in 1981, which was eight years before Swift was even born. But in the commercial, she looks exactly like Taylor Swift. Yeah, let's go to inside edition Deborah Norville on this. It's not Taylor Swift. It's me, Tony Hudson. Right here in the flesh. I did that commercial. The commercial was her big break at age 19. Can you believe that people think you're Taylor Swift? Yes. Actually, I can. It's exciting. But it's still fun to think about Taylor Swift time travel. It's freakish. She looks exactly like her. Yeah, you have the picture of the show. I'm looking at it. I can see I looked it up. She's beautiful. Yeah. That's a lot of hair, too. So now she's like 60. She is. Wow. The oldest wine ever discovered in liquid form was found in untouched Roman tomb. That's like their wine, even back then. Yeah, this is it. The oldest wine ever. Yeah, it was mixed with some human ashes. They used to take everything with them. Scientists say this 2000 year old Vino was found in a glass funeral urn and was discovered in a sealed tomb in Spain. And Alice has found a man's ashes were mixed in with a white wine, bearing people with items that might help them in the afterlife was common in the Roman Empire. Billy's going to take all the water he stole with him to be afterlife. Well, good thing it was white wine and not red wine, right, Billy? Well, I'm not big on red wine. Yeah, I mean, that's like the red wine. We don't even bring it up. Leave the red wine home. Yeah, you're destructive. That red wine that they're holding is going to end up on your couch. Yeah, red wine drinkers spill wine. Their precious bottle of red wine. They're long gone when all of a sudden you're looking for magical solutions. So true. Keep it in your glass. Okay, well, we have made it to number one. A top moment from the Billy and Lisa show this week is a game of one hit wonders finished a lyric. And this is in honor of a shifty shell shock. He was the lead singer of crazy town. He passed away this week tragically. He had that big song that one hit wonder song in the late 90s called "Butterfly." Well, when it's daytime, it's daytime, baby, nighttime, though. I'll be there. That's big time. So how well do you know one hit wonders? Can you finish the lyric? This is for you, Billy Costa, Lisa Donovan and Winnie, of course, and for anyone listening in your car at home, wherever, you can play along as well. I will play a little bit of the song and you have to finish the lyric when I stop. Makes sense? Lisa, here we go. Listen close. These will start easier and then get a little bit harder. Now I get knocked down. I get up again. Very good, Lisa. That was Chumba Wumba. Yeah. I get knocked down. I like that song. We play it a lot on the show on the show. All right, Billy, here we go. One hit wonders. Can you finish this lyric? Listen close. I get knocked down, but I get up again. No. You just you'd messed it. I thought that was the next lyric. See, this is what he does. Well, he's talking over the thing. It's like, okay, for new role here for the games, you got to let the clip play. You can't talk. I never know what it's all about. Because I'm trying to listen to figure out where to stop. Okay. Anyway, give me another shot. He gets no, no, he gets very nervous. Next up, Winnie, one hit wonders. Can you finish this lyric? So fellas, yeah, fellas, yeah, hey, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake that healthy butt. Big got back. Baby got ballet. I love that. But sir, mix a lot. That was his one hit. And do you know that he pretty much retired just from writing that song? The royalties on that song is in the millions. I love that for him. Maybe he should have hung out with Shifty and they could have done a collaboration. And then it would have been more than one hit. It would have been a two hit wonder. Yeah, just saying. Round two, one hit wonders. Finish the lyric. Lisa. Cause you had a bad day. You see how the princess of protocol did that Billy Costa? Yeah. She let the entire clip play, not a sound, not a peep out of her mouth. And then she nailed it. But there's something to this. I know all of Lisa's songs. He thinks he dies. Right. He only knows him after she says the lyrics. No, because he stumps me. Now, all right, here we go. This is your chance. You're shot at redemption. Can you finish the lyric Billy to this one hit wonder? Here we go. I got it. I got it. I got it. I got it. Come on. You know, play again. I got it. I got it. I'm on the verge. I got it. Semi-charm kind of life. Semi-charm kind. Third night blind. Very good. Third night blind. Fun fact about that song. Okay. I was a kid when that came out. It was a big hit. I listened to it. I sang it all the time. Do you know what that song is actually about? Anybody? A third eye. Nope. It's about doing crystal meth. Oh, really? It's about crystal meth addiction. Yeah, listen. So there I was 11 years old, 10 years old. That kind of mapped out your future. Was this a anthem on the streets? Yeah, it was kind of a precursor, if you will. All right, here we go. Winnie finished the lyric of this one hit wonder. I have no idea. I got sex and candy or something. That's right. Oh my gosh. Who's that by? Hellies. You know, like a music librarian. Who's that by? Like what? That was Marcy Playground. Oh, yeah. An infamous one hit wonder. What did you do? Sit at home and just take notes on the lyrics. All right, here we go. Final round. We're running out of time. Okay. These are the top one hit wonders. Lisa, can you go back to back here? Stacey's mom has got it going on. That's a good one. That was a no. Oh, oh my god. That was like such a hit. We played it all the time on Cassie's mom. Yes, 2003 it was released and it's by Fountains of Wayne. Yeah. Oh my god. They actually have one of their really good songs, but I think it was called. Yeah, but that was their big hit there. All right, Bill. I don't even know. I'm trying to pick one to get. What are you going to play next? Go T.A. I don't actually. Come on, Bill. Here we go. I gave you half of it. Come on. I'm walking. I gave you go. Okay. You finished the lyric. Of course not. That's why he only had one song, The Loser. Oh, that was the lyric. I knew that. Somebody that I used to know. Did you get zero for zero? Yeah. I'm having problems. He's got a good seg.
