Good morning, everybody. Welcome into the Billy and Lisa morning show. And if you're new to the show, well, I'm Billy. This is Lisa to my left. Say hello, Lisa. Hello. Justin is over there in master control. Hello? And then there's Winnie. Hello, Winnie. Hello, Billy. Big night out for Winnie tonight. You're going to Chris Brown. I'm at the garden. I'm excited. And so is he, apparently, on tour. This is Billy's favorite story of the day. Well, you know why? Well, we should tell people what it is first. Yeah, Chris Brown, apparently, is sporting a... Lisa, what would be the appropriate word? A bulge. A bulge. A bulge. A bulge. And, you know, if you are a longtime listener of the Billy and Lisa show, you know that we have our own bulger. Billy the bulger. The moose knuckle. The moose knuckle. Yeah, Billy. This is the Billy incident happened a couple of years ago. Winnie took a video posted on Instagram. Lisa took it. And it was an innocent video. I was not focusing on that at all. You didn't see anything unusual in the video when you shot it, did you? Not at all. Since that's happened, we've had multiple times where we've posted videos. You people notice it. Notice it. It's all the time. It's all they talk about. I never put two and two together until I listen to your show. Selfie had whitey bulge and then Cambridge had the original OG, Billy the bulge. Cool. Begin. It's legendary, right? I guess. And now Chris Brown, that's all they're talking about. So Winnie, you're going to have two report points. I will. I will do a four-port on the bulge. Yeah. Do you have binoculars you could bring? I'm sitting in Loge and he does go over the crowd. I'll be able to look. And that's when it happens, apparently, when he's harnessed up and there he is for the world to see. Yeah, it really does crunch everything together. It does. But the OG's remember, like, over 10 years ago, he did have a personal picture that was released. Yeah. So we've seen it before. Okay. Well, that's your assignment tonight, then. You need to somehow measure it and bring the report into us tomorrow. Please don't, please don't, what a crazy week in the garden. You've got Chris Brown tonight, Janet Jackson Friday night. You're going right, Lisa Janet. I can't wait. This has been a bucket list for me for years. Weren't you going to fly cross-country for her? Well, she originally had a tour that started right when COVID started happening and then she had to cancel it and then she had one date down in South Carolina. And then I'm glad I didn't book that because she extended the tour. Wow. And now you'll see her right here in Boston. Yeah, it's Friday night. Nelly too. Yes. Nelly's with her. I know. This is huge. Yeah. And then tomorrow they have Janie Aoko, who's like a R&B singer. She has a baby with Big Sean. Then they have Justin Timberlake Saturday and Sunday and then they have WWE RAW on Monday. Oh my God. Talk about the grounds crew having some work to do. Yeah. My mother-in-law is going to Janet Jackson Lisa. Oh, I'll have a look for you too. And don't forget, we've got the Justin Timberlake double play that's happening this morning. If you hear two songs in a row, it could happen at any moment. Two songs in a row. You'd be college 25. You get tickets to the show this weekend. You qualify for the grand prize. And we'll announce that grand prize winner on Friday morning. Yeah. And the mush tour continued last night. Billy the mush went to Fenway Park for the Red Sox. Now the Red Sox have been on an incredible role right now. And I go to the game last night and what do you know? When I tell you, I thought, Oh, another good night for the Sox. You know, they went up to maybe three and nothing right away earlier in the game. I turned around two seconds later and they gave up seven runs in one minute. So what'd you leave in the third inning? Fourth. It was a third inning. He left for it was a third inning. Yeah. They scored seven runs and Billy left. I figured if I leave, maybe they can bounce back and funny thing. I just thought of this. As my son Dylan and I were walking out, you heard the war from the crowd. They scored three quick runs. Yeah. Rafael Denver has hit the longest home run of his entire career 460 something yard. Right. He jumps on this baby. There's another big guy in the right place. Whoa. Whoa. Number 16. That shot tried at 467 feet. That is feet. Sorry. Not yet. How do you know that? The same thing so fast. Well, because they watched the ball soar over the wall and they know what the mark is on the wall and then they kind of guesstimate where it went from there. Boy, that difference can swing a bat. But yeah, I mushed them out last night. Nine four was the final they lost. Yeah. So why don't you stay away from Fenway for a while? Yeah, I should probably not go into any of our Boston sporting events because I am the most. Oh, we went to a solo game when the playoffs went against the Cavs and they beat their ass. Really? Yeah. I was at that game and they won. Yeah, we were all there together. I said the one that like started. Oh, yeah. Okay. Well, there's hope. Yeah. There's hope. So anyway, yeah. Crazy, crazy week in Boston. And how hot is it going to be today? Oh, like 90s, like 90, 91, 92, we could see some like evening, you know, like major storms. Oh, yeah. There's a new weather term, you know, how we love our weather terms. Oh, yeah. The kids. It's called impact weather. Oh, yeah, impact your day or something. Impact weather is coming, folks. And it's going to be very humid and just announced 18 beaches from Boston all the way to Nantucket have been deemed unsafe for swimming. That's not good bacteria. I was just at well, somebody just today walking and I saw people in the water and I was wondering and my friend said to me, she goes, is this, this is in the water right now? I don't know. Yeah. Like I thought they had babies in the water and stuff. You know, you got to go to the frog pond. Yeah, I'm not worried about that. I've swam in some nasty water in my life. You've probably drank drunk nasty or what? Yeah. I jumped into the in the Boston common. I jumped in that water before. What? You know, the swan boats? Yeah. The swan boats. Oh, God. You know, the level of bacteria in that body of water? Yeah. Why would you do that? I did it for 500 bucks. Oh, you know what? I think I would too. For 500 bucks. Well, it was a group of all my guy friends who went to dinner in Boston and then at dinner, we started talking about it and they said, well, who will do it if we raise the money? And I said, I'll do it for 500. And they all took out money. All right. I would do it for 500 bucks. Good for you. Did you have to swim around for a while? I had to go in. I think I was like chest deep and then run back out. Oh, that's not bad at all. Yeah, I didn't grow a third eye or a third nipple. You can get your overalls in that water. It was late at night. There were a bunch of homeless people watching that were kind of looking down on. You're like, yeah. Shameful. Yeah. Right. God, they're saying even we wouldn't do that. Lisa, you would do it for 500. I think so. You know, especially for chest, you know, sure. At what time we go into the pot and head on over, come on. It's the Billy and Lisa morning show that I mentioned the Timberlake double plate could happen at any minute, but entertainment is coming up next. J.Lo said she wanted to spend time with the family cancels her whole tour. We knew it was for ticket sales. She has yet another new project now. She just signed on for with Netflix. We've got that and Gronk and Edelman talk about Bella check and his girlfriend. We've got that as well. It's all coming up next. We're back with a Billy and Lisa in the morning on his 108. Yeah, we're back. We've got a lot of stories to talk about in entertainment. You want to squeeze in one talk back, Justin? Good morning. It's the mayor of the south then and the verdict is in. No, we're all waiting for that, but I have some happy news to wrap up gay pride month. President Biden has just pardoned all military members that would thrown out of the military for being gay, which will allow them to apply for benefits, clear their records. And it's a great way to end gay pride month. Have a great day and thank you for your service. Oh my God. That's amazing. Yeah, that was a big story. I love that. I can't believe that's even a still thing that they had to do it now. Well, it took them long enough. Yeah, right? They got it done. They got it done. Yeah, that's great. That's great. Anything else, Bill? Fine. I'm gay. Now the entertainment update with a Billy Costa. All right. It's a Rob Gronkowski on Julian Edelman's podcast yesterday. There was a lot of Bill Bella check talk. Let's just start with this. I think coach Bell check may be my new favorite person ever since the roast and if he just showed that personality at all while he was a head coach, I still think we would be playing for the Mooingla paper and winning Super Bowls. I love him. He's so true. Yeah. It's so pure. And that new bill Bella check is dating a 24 year old cheerleader. That came up dating a 24 year old. Good looking 24 year old. He always told us there's three things out there that don't get caught up in. Alcohol was one and the coach bell check did not partake in alcohol. I can tell you that. Well, it's number two. And I would say coach Bell check did partake in that all at some times number three. Is that girls? Yeah. Girls. Now he's all caught up with the girls. We love you, coach. We love you. Whoa, wait. Time out. He's not coaching anymore though, so. So maybe he can be in the trifecta, maybe he's going to be in the trifecta. Watch out. He's going to be blacked out hammered every night now. Yeah. All was the second part of the trifecta that we had to edit out by the way TMZ is reporting that Bella check and his girlfriend have been living together for months. Oh, good for her. Good. Good for her. The free ride continues. I love to grow a show. Yeah. I saw pictures of that. They're in they're in hang of. She's she's staying with. She's living at his house. Black rock. Black rock. Yeah. And they've been spotted everywhere. Yeah. Yeah. And the Hall of Fame celebration. Yes. She was there. Yeah. And she was hanging out with Bill Belichick's daughter. Yeah, she was. Yeah. She was rubbing elbows with his daughter. The daughter. She just slid right in. The daughter is still like 15 years older than her. Anyway, remember JLo canceled her tour because she wanted to spend more time with the family. Yes. Well, since that announcement, she's well been in Italy. For two weeks alone and apparently just signed for a new series on Netflix. Now this series Lisa is based on a book that you've recommended, right? It's actually a book by Emily Henry. It's called Happy Place. So if you read it, you know, the story, it has connections to New England. Part of it takes place in Maine. I recommended Emily Henry's new book this summer called Funny Story that just came out. So you can catch that, you know, it's a good beach read. But yeah. So JLo is going to be a producer with Benny Medina on the project for Netflix. Oh, she never leaves his side. He's been with her. Yeah. They are. Since the beginning. They are thickest thieves. Yeah. So they're working on it together. They're actually in the process of hiring writers to now develop it for Netflix. And speaking of books, what's new with the book club? Okay. So big news. You only have two more days to enter to win the 90 plus sellers getaway to Niann Tuckett, which is three nights at the faraway hotel, including fairy tickets. And you get to go to the sold out Ellen Hildebrand book event. You get to know her, which is August 1st. So you only have two more days to enter. You can go to my Instagram. You can go to kiss one away dot com. You can go to 90 plus sellers, their webpage and enter to win. Boy, a little Niann Tuckett getaway. It's for you and a guest. Oh boy. Three nights. Yeah. We give you $500 in cash. A little walking around. Wow. That's great. Yup. You can't get anywhere. Niann Tuckett right now. Oh no. Six months ago. And the faraway hotel is beautiful. Yeah. Oh yeah. Beautiful boutique hotel. Yeah. It's right near town, right near the boat basin. It's right where you want to be good. The pearl. Actually, it's actually in the same area. Great. The pearl for dinner. Yeah. You just walk the cobblestones and you'll find your way to the pearl. Exactly. By the way, one more item on JLo. Her latest album is on clearance at Target for $7.79. It's been marked down three times. You never want to be on the clearance section. Yeah. Never. Especially when it's your current project. If I were her, she has so much money, I would just have someone go and buy all the copies. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And again, Chris Brown has his concert in the TD Garden tonight. Reports say Chris Brown has been getting overly excited during the shows. Lisa, can you read one line from the report that comes into us this morning? Of course, Billy had a handout this morning. Chris Brown's bulge takes center stage. In one video, Brown's member protrudes while being lifted by a harness. Well, he is, he goes with a crowd. I mean, it's not really his fault, it's just the way. It's the way the harness. The harness sits. Yeah. Well, here's the question, though. Yeah. Does he position the harness on purpose so that when he's flying over everybody, the bulges and caribou. Have you ever been harnessed? It's around your thighs. Yeah. If you do like any sort of zip lining or anything like that, or even rock climbing, I think, I'm going to tell you this. It would happen if you were doing it. Well, it's like almost hitting people in the head. Yeah. That's how I'm sorry, but Michelle and I have yet to introduce the harness to the bedroom. Oh, well, maybe one day. There's still time. Well, Chris Brown balls and he got Billy's balls. Billy has plenty of confidence. They don't call him Billy Bulge for nothing. Yeah. Again, crazy week at the garden this week, Janet Jackson is Friday night, Timberlake has Saturday and Sunday nights. And again, a reminder on the Timberlake Double Play that could happen at any moment this morning, two songs in a row, you call it 25 and you are in. So Ariana Grande had another weird moment. Next week, she had the weird voice change that we ran mid mid interview. This week, she went on the pod crush to podcast saying that Jeffrey Dahmer would be her dream dinner guest. And I think we have Jeffrey Dahmer is pretty fascinating. I think I would love to have met him like, you know, maybe with a third party or something else. But I have questions. Okay. It's kind of a scary thought. Well, it's surprising that she said that because when the Dahmer show was out when it was popular, a lot of artists took heat for using Dahmer in their lyrics in the past. Yeah. So she must have missed that. Well, the whole clip, actually, she said that it was a long time ago before the thing came out. She was in front of like little kids saying this. Yeah. Like it was when she was like on Nickelodeon. So she's like, Oh, that wasn't really like, she was, I don't really know why I said that. But I think she's, I don't know. Dahmer mutilated. Multiple people. He ate people. That's just a troubling show. Great show though. It was a great show. It was troubling. Really good. And by the way, Ariana Grande's birthday is today. She turns 31 years old. Ariana. There you go. Sad news this morning. I was reluctant to do this because I was afraid I get too emotional. Shifty shell shock. Front man for crazy town died at 49 reports, say he had a history of drug abuse. Can I get some? What are the top one hit wonders of all time? Yeah. Speaking of which, are we going to have a one hit wonder game on the show this morning? Well, you know, I was looking out at this, these lists of the top one hit wonders of all time. I thought to myself, this might be a fun game. That would be a fun game. I'll put you guys in there. I won't put butterfly in there because we just heard it, but that is a big one hit one. I want to see you in that butterfly stance. I mean, they only had one song, but it hit no more. How long have you used two Antonio Brown likes in one week? We don't acknowledge. We just move on. Sabrina Carpenter is going to do a VR concert with a meta horizon world. I don't know what that means, Justin. You just need the VR headset. Like at our house, we have the meta, the quest. It's just a VR headset you put on. It's actually really cool. It feels like you're there right in front of our watching it. Yeah. It's really, really cool. You guys have that? No, we don't. Sabrina's show at the TD Garden, October 3rd, they had the pre-sale yesterday. It's sold out in a minute. Yeah. That's going to be a tough ticket. Yeah. Producer Riley was trying to get tickets and she couldn't. Not happening. Not happening. And Post Malone is coming up on a night in Nashville where he's going to do a bunch of new stuff, but also perform a lot of his older songs. His album comes out August 16th. Isn't that the thing your wife Jen is trying to go to, Justin? She entered. She entered to win with Bud Light, so she really thinks she's going to win. I told her there's a chance. Yeah. There's always a chance. I guess. No one has to win. Yeah. Why not her? Yeah. He is coming to Fenway Park, September 18th. And sadly, actress Gina Rowlands has dementia, which is ironic since her famous character in the movie The Notebook had dementia. Why did you call me, darling? I don't know you. What's going on here? Am I supposed to know you? No. No! No! Lee, sweetheart. Hey, Ali, I love you staying with me. No! Who are you? I'm Noah. I'm Noah and you're Ali. What do you mean? What are you doing here? Come on, baby. Don't come near me! Don't you come near me! The help! Help! Oh, man. You're trying? You're trying a troubling scene. Yeah. You're trying to make me cry in 6.15 in the morning. God, I got chills. For so many reasons, that was one of the greatest movies The Notebook. Oh, my. Oh, it was such a love story. All of the characters were perfect. James Garner and Gina Rowlands. Oh, my God. And then Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. It was Gosling, right? Yeah. Ryan Gosling was unbelievable. Yeah. Although, all the way down to, like, Juan, who was played like James Marson, who was like the only lover. Yeah. It was perfectly cast. Perfect. You even loved- Perfectly cast. The house. Yes. You know, the Shamshackle house that he fixed up and came back the- Oh. Now, life's imitating art, Sad. Yeah. It is really sad. Oh, yeah. Really sad. Yeah. We're brought to you by Boston Vision. I want to talk about it because you only have two more days to enter this incredible get away. We are going to send someone with 90 plus sellers. We've partnered with them. They're a local Boston wine company. Um, they sponsor my book club. So we are sending you for a three night overnight. You and a guest to the far away Nantucket Hotel. Boy, this is an amazing Nantucket getaway, especially in the month of August when you can't get a place on Nantucket. You can't. And the far away hotel is beautiful. It's in such a great part of town, um, so you're like right in the center of everything. And it wine, right? And then 90 plus dollars lines. It's great. Bottle in an island. No, it's a book, a bottle and the beach. Oh, the three Bs, the three Bs, everything you want in life in the three Bs, both bottle and beach. That's Dell, please. Yeah. So enter because you only have two more days. Wow. And, uh, when will we announce a winner? Um, that's up to our marketing department, but I'm sure we will do it. You know, okay. So after the contact, the winner, speaking of rich, when do we announce the Timberlake Friday morning? So the last winner will be tomorrow with the V bros. And then on Friday, we will announce, um, the winner. So we have, we have someone today, the birth of someone today, then tomorrow, we have someone tomorrow, they have somebody and then Friday, we announced the winner. The full breakdown. I'm just running, you know, be listening on, okay, the next two days, like I said, we have a lot going on. Yeah. That's going to be a big pride. Friday is going to be a huge day, you know, for everyone that that's one that's going to win the next couple of days, it's big announcement. It's just a lot going on. Chris Brown brings his bulge to the TD garden tonight. That's big. Well, it is in fact, I guess it's what it is. Yeah. That's your boy. Yeah. He, uh, yeah. Winnie's going to that show. My wife's going to. Yeah. Oh, he puts on a phenomenal show. He's super talented. Oh, I'm sure he does. Yeah. He really does. He, I saw it firsthand. I was, um, you know, before I worked on Kiss, I was an intern on jamming and he did the summer jam there a couple of years ago. And I was, I was watching his performance. He was the headliner. I can dance. Yeah. He's a talent. Yeah. Like guys, he think he sounds so good live to sounds like the album. Yeah. He just, you know, he did some bad things in his life. Well, yeah. I'm sure you're regrets now. Couple of moments he would like to take back like 15 years ago. Um, well, I'm just saying, I'm just saying, um, but Friday night is Janet Jackson with Nellie. Yeah, this is like, and this is a dream. Oh, come on. She's an icon. And this is probably going to be it for her. Yeah. So I want to see her on stage Lisa until they announced Boston was going to fly to Alaska to see Janet Jackson, but now she doesn't have to because Janet Jackson is in the garden front in it. Let me tell you, I did a Peloton ride of Janet Jackson songs. It was an only Janet. Oh, yeah. She's got some hits. Oh, yeah. She's got some Janet. She's got some. She's got them nation. Oh, you forget how many hits she has. I know. Yeah. She's a lot of. So many. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yep. This one, this one was in the ride that I forgot. It's my favorite problem because in that, it's funny, the instructor for the Peloton was doing the dance. Yeah. The hand movements that Janet does in that video. Wow. Super dope. Yeah. She's a good dancer too. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Really good. Well, I mean, the choreography will be ridiculous Friday night with Janet. Yeah. I can't wait to see her. Who are you going with? Two of my girlfriends. So we got tickets through marketing. So that was great. Ladies night out. Janet Jackson. Girls night out. There's go. And then, of course, Timberlake, tonight's Saturday inside. That's what I mean. We're in the city. Anyway. Oh, Karen Reed, Katherine Loftus, up next. Call us. Send us some talkbacks. It's time to talk about Karen Reed. That's Max. Hey, Lisa. On the morning. Get one away. You have been lied to in this courtroom. Karen Reed is innocent. Do justice and find her not guilty. Closing arguments in the Karen Reed trial yesterday, both sides getting to tell their present their cases. And it was kind of a crazy day. The jury's going to be back to liberating today. Katherine Loftus is in studio with us. She joins us after every day's testimony. So let's start their closing arguments. How do you, who do you think did better? Listen, I think Alan Jackson is a very skilled lawyer. He could tell us. He doesn't ask her anything. He's great. He, you know, weaved it in and out. There were no pauses. There was, you know, it just flowed. So I think if we're, you know, serving points, he probably gets the point. I don't think, listen, I don't think the Commonwealth did terrible. There was a lot of information presented from Adam Lally. You started out a little bit slow. I thought the middle was the best of his and the most substantive. And then towards the end, it was a little bit of a struggle when the judge, you know, interrupted him with the five minutes in the closing. But I 100% agree with you, but there was one distraction in the courtroom, which I couldn't stop looking at. And that was the presence of Brian Albert, Jen McCabe, Colin Albert and Carrie Roberts. I thought it was wrong sitting right with the O key family. It looked like intimidation, jury intimidation to me. It did. Yeah. Like why all of a sudden they're all sitting there staring at the jury? Well, I think, again, like with everything we talk about, there's two different perspectives to this. So the one is the one how you feel is that this seems inappropriate. They shouldn't be here. They're accused of being, you know, part of this. And for the people who believe that she's being framed and they are murderers, I can see that point on the converse of that we have the people who believe Karen Reed is guilty that the Alberts and McCabe's have nothing to do with this, that they've been slandered. And I would imagine that the O key family had to okay them coming in. I think they waited until the end. And I do think it's either way it was meant to show a presence and there's two different feelings that are coming from that based on which side of the case you're on. I have tried to remain in the middle here as a juror listening to the evidence. I found it to be completely distracting. Yeah. I also wanted. And I think that was the intention. I also like to ask and point out that first of all, these people, especially like Collin Albert, he's a 20 year old kid, right? That was his neighbor. Why would he have any connection to go sit there for the closing arguments? Did these go to his funeral? If you did not go to my funeral, you don't need to come to the closing arguments of my murder trial. I think I would, I mean, I don't have any insights. So this is literally speculation. I would guess that Mrs. O'Keefe is the one who gets to make the decisions about who comes in. I would bet that she, you know, she believes Karen Reed is guilty is right. That's my understanding. And she probably believes, hey, because of this case and everything that's happened, all of these people have been subjected to, you know, harassment and all that kind of stuff. And if she invites them, I, only that day, why did they wait for the jury instructions in the closing argument? I think because you wait till the close, you know, you do wait till the close of evidence because it's probably even more of a distraction if you're coming in every day. This is ruining your life. Okay. These four people, three people. Why would you want to be there? I'd be like, you know what? I appreciate the offer. I hope everything goes well, but I'm going to, I'm going to sit this one out. I think it, I think it goes both ways. It, to be honest, I think it depends on the person. Like I'm the kind of person that if you were accusing me of murder and I didn't do anything, I'm not hiding. I'm going to be right out front and say, no, no, no, I'm here. You could look me in the eye. I didn't do anything. And then there's other people who say, I don't want any of this heat. I'm not. But it really at the end of the day comes down to personality. Right. It fits their personality. And what they presented on the stand in keeping with that. I have a question about Karen Reed, where do, where does she have to be while the jury is deliberating? So generally they're not, you don't wait at the courthouse, usually go, you get lunch or you go someplace close. You have to be within, you know, once the jury calls, the jury comes back with the verdict and the clerk calls the lawyers and says, okay, we have a verdict. They usually within like 20, 30 minutes. So they're close. Are they given a room in the courthouse to stay in if they choose to? They probably could if they wanted. I would bet that they left the courthouse just because it can be a long wait. And you know, we have no idea. Obviously people, you know, have the internet was saying, they'll be back in 10 minutes and then they deliver it all day yesterday. We don't know if how long they're going to deliberate to, I mean, it could be days. So generally you don't wait around in the actual courthouse because it's also more stressful for everybody to just be sitting there waiting. You try to kind of distract yourself until the verdict comes in. Quick question. So she's facing several charges and that's what the jury has to decide on. One of which is the DUI? No, not just that. So the DUI is part of the manslaughter charge, but she can't be found guilty. There's no solitary DUI. So even though it's, I believe it's been proven, she was driving under the influence, right? I'm sure they to, right? She can never be prosecuted for the DUI. She wasn't charged with it. No. She wasn't just charged with the DUI. So she has manslaughter while operating under the influence, but that requires additional elements. So you basically need the elements of OUI and manslaughter together to find her guilty of that charge. All right, let's go to the phones. We've got Michelle. Michelle, good morning. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for joining us. Question for the counselor. Yes, I was just curious. I noticed Mr. O'Keefe wasn't in the courtroom yesterday. Does that mean that he thinks that Karen is innocent? Why wasn't he in the courtroom yesterday? I don't know. And I know. Hasn't that been reported that the mother and father disagree? There's been a lot of reporting and I hate to, I wouldn't want to speculate on what, you know, they feel that a lot of people don't want, even when, you know, your family members are victims of crimes. Some people don't want anything to do with the trial. Some people don't want anything to do with the system. So I don't think we should read into it that, you know, anybody thinks one way or the other, it's really just speculation. Yeah. Yeah. Is that answer your question, Michelle? It sure does. Thank you. Thanks, Michelle. Thank you. What a crazy case this is. I'm still at a loss on this DUI thing. If she was driving under the influence and was proven to be driving under the, there's no charge. So there's no charge. So originally she was charged with the manslaughter. And then when it was upgraded, she went, it went to second degree, but they never included a straight DUI. Um, I have a question. Do you know anything about the jury, the juror being dismissed yesterday? I don't. I tried to find out some details, but I'm getting a lot of, you know, conflicting information. So I haven't found anything that seems to be really solid about what the base is for. It was. But, you know, can you imagine sitting there the whole entire time? It has to be something fairly significant to get to all the way through testing, all the day of closing arguments. And then you get dismissed. So they said it was a personal reason. Do you believe? Do you? That's all I don't know. I don't. I know. It's hard because without more information, I mean, it could be. It could be that, hey, somebody could come up and say, my mother had, you know, a heart attack last night. She's in the hospital. I'm not. I can't be here. I have to go. It could be that boy. For two and a half months. Whatever it's been. They said she was annoyed that she got dismissed, which means, yeah, like, I wonder who says that. You know what I mean? That's my question. That's always my question. Some people in the media were saying where, you know, where it comes from. And that's the hard thing about the juries is that unless that person comes out and talks about it or somebody else. I hope they do. Well, if anybody has any insight and you're listening out there, we're coming up on topic time. By the way, I want to hear from some of the people in pink, the hundreds of people outside the courthouse every day wearing pink, like they're coming in from Alabama, flying it. I was Michigan. This is a whole that's a whole story in and of it's all right to be told that the latest topic time is coming up 6 1 7 9 3 1 1 1 0 8 or you can send Justin to talk back Justin. How do they do that? You can send your question, your message via the talkback mic on the iHeart app. You just search kiss on a way to have the red microphone and you are in questions for the counselor and topic time next. What is the topic today? We're going to be talking Billy and Lisa present topic time talk amongst yourself topic time. Okay. It's topic time. We have a counselor and Catherine Loftus in studio and right before we went to break well into music. We were asking the question about the pink people who are all the people in pink outside the courthouse. They're traveling from all over the country. We have Deanna on the phone and Deanna. Are you outside the courthouse? Yes. I am. I've been out here since about 4 30 this morning. Okay. Now, are you one of the pink people? Yes. I am. Oh, this is so cool. All right. So we need to get to know you, Deanna. Okay. Now, where are you from? First off, my name is Deanna. Oh, hi, Deanna. Hey, Deanna. Hey, Deanna. Where are you from, Deanna? Well, Sam, Massachusetts, home of the Arrow Smith warehouse. There you go. Okay. There we go. All right. Are you outside the courthouse every day? And if so, why? I am outside this courthouse every morning, usually between four and five o'clock in the morning to save spots. And I'm out here till Karen goes in a lot of the times I leave after that, you know, because we all got to go make money. And I'm part of the morning crew. Ah, so you guys operate in shifts? Well, I want them because a lot of us have to work and stuff. You can't take every day off and stuff, but the last few days, I've done nothing but been down here. Okay. We're right here. I've been doing this for so long. This is the last bit of it. So I'm here all day long. So you dress in pink? Yeah. Wow. And black sometimes. Now, what is not too pink is not too kind on us. Big girl. Okay, Dina. Oh, so I'm a black. I'm a fan of black meat. Yeah. Always. What's the meaning of pink, Dina? Karen picked the color because we couldn't. If we really when the buffer zone went into effects, we really couldn't. It was, you know, you can't display any Karen Reed stuff or free turtle boy or anything. And so we decided there were we couldn't have a symbol like you couldn't wear anything. So we picked the color pink. Okay. Everyone. Karen. So do you know, Karen? No. How did she pick the color pink? I guess it's her favorite color. She never wears her pink. You guessed that. Never seen her working. Never in a never seen her in a second. Never. It's usually in darker colors. Apparently, that's the favorite color. She picked it. So with that. Oh, but how and when did she pick it? Just. I don't know. Just let her. All right. She's been connecting with people over the past two years. Yeah. Yeah. Because she's very into blacks and grays. Yeah. This is Billy Costa. He is the gayest straight man. Why is she wearing that color? Why did she pick that color? He's stuck on the pig. Anyway. It's harder. And you're concerned about the pink. Wow. Well asked and answered. I'm glad we asked the question. Anyway, thank you, Deanna. My name. Deanna. Again, we kid. You know what? That's what we do. I mean, this is the show. Okay. And again, the only victim here is John O'Keefe. Let's go back to the phones and Amy. Amy. Yes. You have a question? I do. So my question is you guys were talking about how Karen didn't get charged with the DUI on top of everything. So in this case, it's all said and done. Will they go back and charge all these law enforcement officers who admittedly have been driving drunk? Like some of them are in their cruisers and state cars like what happens to all of them? You know, we keep asking that if Catherine and Catherine, you say no way, nobody's going to be prosecuted. So the there's two things. So you have to prove somebody guilty of an OUI. You have to prove that they're operating on a public way and they're under the influence of intoxicating like liquor and basically in that they will operate and obviously. So I think what happens with this is you can't really prove backwards, right? Even from people's perspective, because it's not actually illegal to have a drink and drive. It's illegal to be intoxicated and drive. So you even though the trooper you trooper practice said, you know, we had a drink and then drove that doesn't necessarily mean you're under the influence. And you know, there's all kinds of burden of proof issues, but basically, no, nobody's going to get charged. They can't go back in time. Yeah. No one witnessed it. Right. They were told over. They were. All right. Let's go to Dixie. Dixie, are you from the deep South or something? You don't get many Dixie's around here. No, you guys are funny. I've called before. I was born in North Carolina, but I'm a Boston girl all day long. All right. You have a question for the counselor? Yeah. So look, I'm a diehard Karen Reed supporter. I follow the case for at least six months. Haven't missed a trial, but so for a thousand reasons, I think she's innocent, but I'm just going to focus on one thing and I'm curious, Catherine, what your thoughts are on it. And it does come down to the dog bites. I think it has been proven unequivocally that they are, in fact, at least animal bites, but specifically probably dog bites in a pretty fresh. And if that is the case, to me, that says, look, John went in the house period game over. So why are they asking everybody, as Jackson says, to look the other way on this? These are dog bites. Where would he get them? The Lexus didn't bite them. Well, I think one thing that the first part of that analysis, I think, is we could get closer to the other than the dog. So the pathologist basically said, they look like animal bites and they could be a large dog. But the problem with that is it doesn't equal is, you know, and I have I have said for a while that there is some distinct possibilities, maybe in the middle between him going into the house and Karen Reed hitting him. You know, we're in a fairly suburban area that's not it's not completely impossible that someone or an animal or something like a coyote, yeah, I could have, you know, come to his body if he was on the ground. So I don't get to the next necessary inference that you need to get to in order to get him into the house. I know that other people do, but you know, that's for the jury to decide back to the phones. We go and Aubrey Aubrey have a question for Catherine. Hi. Yes. I'm wondering why the Albert and the McCabe were allowed to sit in for closing arguments yesterday for the trial and especially their position. They're right across from the jury. Mm hmm. Yeah. So I mean, they're civilians. They're allowed in just like anybody else's. There's been people on the defense side as well as the Commonwealth side. How did they get all those seats though? So each. So behind Karen is basically her family and who she she chooses to go in with her. So she's had supporters from outside. She's had people from YouTube come. She has her family. And then on John's side, it's mostly been family and friends until now. And like we were saying before, I expect it's probably the O key family who dictates who can come in. And ultimately they, you know, if the family says it's okay to sit with them, they have a right to be there. Mm hmm. Quickly, did you say she has people from YouTube coming in? Well, there's a lot of people who have been covering the case. Yeah. And there's really been one spot that has been reserved in that Karen reads, um, supporter section in the courtroom for kind of a rotating guest list. Yeah. Inside edition is covering the trial. Yeah. Anyway, Catherine, for you. Good morning. Question for Catherine. Um, I watched her TikTok last night where she presented both sides of the case and like I appreciated the neutral stance and like, Oh, this is a perspective of the other side. But how, how did he get hit by a car? I don't understand. Like there's nothing that points to that other than some people say she said I did it. I don't get it. Please explain. Okay. I mean, that's, it's not. Listen, that's up for the jury to the side and we were just talking about before that I actually think one of the likely fatal flaws in the Commonwealth case was actually the trooper Paul, not trooper, we all thought it was going to be proctor, proctor, and obviously this terrible stuff that came from him, but if we had, um, been able to see an expert on both sides that presented in the same way that the defense had, you know, we might be able to say, okay, this is how they got he got hit by a car. This is the manner, but it just wasn't that persuasive from the Commonwealth's perspective in their expert. So I do think when we're talking about the actual evaluation of how he got hit, what happened, that point definitely goes to the defense. Were you surprised that Alan Jackson went so hard in on the third party defense and pretty much didn't even talk about the witnesses that were on the stand the day before that we all thought were so credible? I actually did. I really thought that the third party argument was going to be sort of the minor argument and the main part of it was going to be reasonable doubt, reasonable doubt, police investigation, all these problems. And then on top of it, hey, we have witnesses that have essentially conclusively shown that he couldn't have been hit by a car, but it was a very interesting way to go about it because he, the entire argument for the defense was really about the third party theory, which was surprising to me. I didn't, I really thought they didn't even need to go there. I thought that they did such a good job establishing reasonable doubt that that alone would have been a pretty strong argument. But that's tactical. Justin, talk back. So I was just wondering what Catherine thought if the jury takes a long time, if they take a couple of days, does that hold bad for Karen? I would say generally the longer it takes, the more worried I would get if I were the first, because that means they're thinking about it. That means they're thinking about that means they're not coming to a quick decision. That means you likely have people who are sticking to their guns. So I would say the longer it goes, the more worried you get. And what is she thinking? I mean, did she sleep at all last night? The verdict? Oh, it's going to be. I will say for me covering the case last week, yesterday I felt like trials over it was, you get this really like intense, you know, release of energy, but for her and for the defense team, that doesn't come until the verdict comes and she's found knock guilty. So you're basically just like a stress ball waiting for the verdict to come back. I can't even imagine. It's all because they've been stuck together for the last two months. Right. Right. It's a weird feeling. Yeah. It's like you're in this bubble, right? Before we wrap, I just want to, a lot of people are sending in messages. I guess she's staying. Karen and her team are at a church. They rented a church, I guess near the courthouse. Hi, Lisa. Just a quick FYI. They rented the church right next door. They sit in there for their lunches and they were there yesterday to go back and forth to the courtroom. I did get several that said the same thing. Wow. I saw a live yesterday where she, I know it was a church, but she was like in front of a white building. Oh, yeah. The only one across the street. Yes. Yes. And they were, and that's where they stay. That's where they stay. Yeah. Yeah. Well, oh boy, place of work. Yes. Right. Yes. I hope she's praying to somebody. All right. So going forward, Catherine, there's no more testimony. That's right. The closing arguments are over. So will you be joining us tomorrow? I'll join you if you want. I think until this is over, you should just come back. We actually had so many calls and I don't know just in talkbacks that we didn't even get to. Yeah. So tomorrow, if there's no conclusion, we can just keep going with the talk back. If not, we can just obviously talk about the verdict. It's kind of like people want to talk more now. They want to give me, just make this Catherine see us. Yeah. It's almost like people want to talk more now than before during the trial. Yeah. And then that's what happens often like the post trial analysis. Yeah. Hey, guys. It is Ryan.
