Now that he knows I'm going to Africa on safari, every day now he's going to get me a story about somebody that was dragged, mauled and sampled, tambled on in Africa. So here we go, a U.S. tourist. That would be me killed by an elephant in the Zambian city of Livingston this week. Now, you know, you go on safari, you're in these vehicles and you're driving through and you know, you happen upon animals. Well, apparently there was a traffic delay. Yeah. Let's just go to the news. Yeah. Why don't we do that. Officials say 64 year old Julianna Latino died when an elephant, the tourists were watching attacked their vehicle in Africa, the Southern province police. Hold on before I continue. So Bill, when you go on the safari, are you and your beautiful wife, Michelle, going to be doing safari tours like with a car expeditions? Yeah. Look at the animal. Okay. Just thrown from the vehicle and trampled by the elephant, Zambian authorities say tourists need to exercise extreme caution while observing wildlife. No, what does that even mean? Obviously, you're observing extreme caution, right? Yes. You're in the wild. You're in the bush. You don't have control over what's going to happen, which is what I keep telling my wife. You don't really, especially because a lot of these attacks are not accidental. But a lot of times these animals attack when they feel like you're, you know, coming after their children. Yeah. You know, the babies, what you don't mean to do, you know, so I mean, there's a lot of different reasons why they attack, but right, you don't have control unless you're taunting the animal. So Justin comes up to me earlier this morning and says, "So where about you going on this trip to Africa?" And I mentioned one particular place called Victoria Falls. Yeah. What does he do? He immediately pulls up several stories about people who have been hurled over the fall. No, I'm now obsessed with this story. Yeah. So he's going, Lisa, this falls place. It's nicknamed the Devil's Pool. Yes. Beautiful waterfall where you can swim out ready for this. It's very, the waterfall is very tall. You can swim to the edge and you are being held by the locals. Yeah. They hold your body so you don't fall off. They keep you from going over the edge. The issue is that so many Instagrammers, influencers are going there to take pictures. Yeah. And they're falling off the lawn. Oh my God. What I would get. Oh my God. Oh my God. You're being like bored by a rhino or something. Right? All right. We've heard the falls. That's a plunge pool. She's never worn it in her life. - Well, also she's, I think she's being instructed to wear darker colors from her attorneys. But also, before we move on from Karen Reed, I didn't get this talk back, you know, we talked about the Jill Daniels turtle boy attack that happened over the weekend, yeah. - I have a relative that works at Trader Joe's in Foxborough, and yesterday Jill Daniels, the sister of Jen McKeev, came into the store. Her and the cashier just were having a small talk when she was checking out. The cashier didn't know who she was. Jill said she was from Canton. The cashier made a comment saying, "Oh, I bet you can't wait until the trial is over." After this happened, Jen McKeev called the store and demanded that this cashier be fired for her rapping her sister. - Okay, are you kidding me? - Okay, all right. - All right, that's-- - These people are crazy. - It just keeps unraveling. - Yeah, get over yourself. - It just keeps unraveling, it's crazy. And by the way, I just wanna say, I love Catherine Loftus, a lot and, you know, shout out to her. But I do, on a personal note, disagree with her stance on them being in the courtroom, you know, the alberts, you know, sitting there in the courtroom. I don't, that was definitely an intimidation thing. - It seemed to be. - Yeah, let's scare the jury. - It just was so, it was just a distracting thing that just didn't need to happen. - I also felt like it actually hurt the prosecution because if they did not fare well with particular jurors, now they see them back, it reminds you how much I didn't like your testimony four or five, six weeks ago, when I probably would have forgotten about you at this point. - Well, they kinda look like what they're being suspected of, especially Brian. - Yeah, when Brian's all sitting there. - Oh, Brian, it's 90 degrees out. He has a winter coat on. - Yeah, it's really-- - What was that? - Yeah, the jury, they have, they could happen today. A verdict could come back today. - Yeah, any minute. - We'll have Catherine in tomorrow again to give us the update. A little backstory that is his wife Michelle's dream is to go to Africa and we're making jokes about possible attacks. When you hear fatalities, it's mostly because a guest is doing something that he shouldn't do or that the guy that they're with is an experience and didn't know how to read the signs of an animal that doesn't want to be bothered. A lot going on, first and foremost, the jury is back in the courthouse. They're about to start their deliberations again for a second day. I guess they put in about three hours yesterday. So the bottom line is the verdict could come down at any minute. And everybody's wondering, will it be today? Will it be tomorrow? There's no way of telling it. It gets more mysterious, it seems, by the minute. Earlier this morning, we had some people call in. They were a part of the pink people that hang out in pink clothing down the street from the courthouse, supporting Karen Reid. And we had Catherine Loftus on this morning, some of the questions regarding the closing arguments that happened yesterday. I gotta tell you, I've followed this to some degree, not like Lisa and Winnie, which is like round the clock, but I cannot make up my mind on Karen Reid. - Really? Okay, so I did get some messages from some people that would like us to give us, give our opinion on what we think based on the trial and the evidence, so you can't make up your mind. - No, and I prefer not to take a side at this point. - Yeah, but after watching the trial and hearing the evidence. - Totally undecided. - Really? - Yeah. - See, I think it's gonna be a not guilty. It's based on the evidence. - And you, Lisa? - As a person that I always felt like I was sitting in that jury box through this whole trial, listening to all of the evidence, I would say that I think that the prosecution did not, for me, prove beyond a reasonable doubt the charges that are against Karen Reid. So I think it would be not guilty as well as you. - I agree. Okay, and I'm a no decision and Winnie? - Yeah, I kind of echo what Lisa said. I kind of, I think the longer this has gone on, the more questions I've had, which actually makes it easier for me to say not guilty, because, you know, at first in the beginning, I was like, oh, maybe she could've been drunk enough that she hit him. And I honestly have no idea what happened. There's a million ways this could've happened, how he passed away. I don't think what ever really know, I think it could've been a combination of many things. I think everyone was very, very drunk. And unfortunately, that was the cause for such a horrific night. I don't think anybody here is very likable, whether it's prosecution or defense. I think the lawyers are great. I don't find Karen that likable, but I don't find her to be a murderer, a murderer that they're trying to say that she is. - So you think it's gonna be a not guilty? - I would vote, if I was voting, I'd vote not guilty. - I felt like they overcharged. - Overcharged? - Yeah. - I think that they charged her worth like an OUI. - Right. - That led to bodily harm or death, then I could say, okay, maybe. - Right. - But the obsession with this trial is overwhelming. We've got New England TV stations that do it 24 hours a day, 24 hours a day. We're looking at one of our Jumbotrons now and it's non-stop, Karen read coverage. It never ends. In fact, they have the thing at night with Sue O'Connell and the J.C. Monahan. - It's called Canton Confidential. - Yeah, so they kind of capsulate everything that happened that day and court TV is on it. When I go home during the day, I tend to go to court TV. I mean, they focus on two or three trials at once, but if there's something significant going on with the Karen read, they stand on the Karen read. - Right, can I just make one statement here and we've been saying this all along, the victim here is John O'Keefe and his family. I also wish and I hope and I pray that the town of Canton and all of the people surrounding it that can heal after this process because this has been a really ugly process for a lot of people and I really hope that at some point people can come together. - Because all of the people, most of whom are involved in this trial have to go about their lives. - Exactly. - And when this trial is over, they have to go to the local restaurants, they have to go to local bars. - Well, hold on. - This has been a real problem for the town of-- - They probably shouldn't be going to local bars, but-- - Oh, hold on, they're out and about. They're not all-- - They are now. - They're not hiding. - Yeah, they're not hiding. - They're out and about.
