Oh, he probably doesn't want a job again Yeah, no, I'm sure he doesn't want to at this point, but Yeah, it was pretty cool on failed is because they should have failed they made so many stupid mistakes I mean they ask him at one point what the biggest boondoggle was and his watch is well It would be hard to say what the biggest boondoggle was Did so yeah, it wasn't I mean, I'm sure fan subbing and these things didn't help But that was not the reason the reason they failed is because they made some incredibly bad business decisions business decisions that Even I thought were stupid as soon as he said and I'm a chemist. I have no business acume at all But great interview they ask hard questions. They don't hold back. They're not lovey-dovey like with them with them like they are on some of other people That they actually treat themselves like real journalist. So he'll he'll be about to die and get possessed by her and then kick somebody's ass So, you know, it gives an actual reason for the oh, I'm about to die home about to die Oh, no, I come back and kick your ass. No, no I like the extras, especially the interviews cuz I mean again I've my tastes are run toward the philosophical story-driven stuff like Annabelle and May and techno lies and Lane Okay, and I love watching the interviews with the people who made it and kind of on the here's what we were trying to say gotcha I'm not like me. Honestly. I just want to watch the The show I I gotta say though my favorite Extras I stumbled on to by accident Were the marmalade boy commentary tracks These guys the voice English voice dub folk Just riffed on the show in the first like every desk of the first two or three episodes They had commentary tracks and this series is four box sets of It was 12 discs total for this series and the first few episodes They'd like riff on this show hardcore and just bash the shit out of it Like not in an all thorough like this show is horrible, but just the events like how the characters were to react or act Just crazy stuff like it was hilarious If you happen to own marmalade boy What yes do it it is hilarious I've also Then I enjoy that type of extra as well. I have yeah, I love those kind of extras where they where they don't Even says in the very beginning these are not you know blah blah blah you know these these persons Tokyo pop You know don't condemn any of this crap. It's really you know they swore it was rated you know are basically, you know You know mature audiences only it was hilarious And one of the episodes. I one of the things I own is Elha's art Which is an absolutely great show. I mean utterly pointless and just just for fun and much like code geos then main bad guy is Incredibly over the top. Yeah, but he's absolutely hilarious because he's incredibly over the top and they do a similar thing there where they you know Talk of have have people talking over the episodes, but here they're talking over the episodes as their characters Oh, okay, and it's it's unbelievably hilarious the characters riff on each other They riff on their the thing there are themselves. I break the fourth wall. Yeah. Yeah, yeah You like hot you would love hot day then and usually I don't enjoy that but here it was absolutely hilarious They do it like they're talking to each other. Mm-hmm I like they're talking about the things that happened in the past and they're going over it and they're like oh my god I can't believe I did that. Oh, it's just it's absolutely hilarious. Yeah, they're basically shattering the fourth wall and yeah Yeah, they can see themselves Like we see them all right. Yeah, I think you'd really like Hayate Check it out. Yeah, you know, I also forgot about mention. I was watching I Just finished the first box of bamboo blade. I Am so pissed off. They used to not bad people just saying something bad about Japan, but you know Okay Sketchbook a very interesting show and first off I want to play part of the the opening music because This music is some of the best music I've ever heard from an anime opening Wow, I need to play you It's just soft and fun nice to listen to relaxing It's James Taylor like James Taylor would be proud if he wrote this song It's just a nice opening theme for the show Okay, sorry go ahead say that again I don't wonder if I can send you mp3 through sky because I can't figure out how to play it here But yeah, you could I need to send you the opening for head of a rhythmic a lot like that. Oh, okay Well, I mean like this the whole reason I played it thought and I wasn't I have a very large collection of of Japanese music The whole reason I brought it up though is this really sets the mood for the show It's a very laid-back theme. It's you know, it's acoustic. That's all it is an acoustic guitar What's that sounds like piano Oh, yeah, maybe I'm not a music expert. I'm not gonna tear it apart by any means, but The show focuses mainly on a character named Sora and I swear to God. She's retarded There's even the second episode of this series is actually around her younger brother Wondering if she's really all there. They don't come out and say it, but she's really I Don't know if you're saying slow is the right way She would say this. She's very unique we'll say that She like the lady from Osaka and Anzamangadai. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. Well, maybe but not as funny. She's very quiet She's very shy. That's the thing about her. She doesn't talk Very much. She's very very shy and she usually that's her artwork do the talking for her She'll find beauty in the simplest of things She's in the art club and Basically this this whole series follows the misadventures of the art club There's a couple wacky characters the upperclassmen who are funny as hell in one episode they get asked to This is this is this date to the show one of the other art care art students or club members there Cuz that player broke So they say oh, yeah, exactly like what also uses cuz it's like 30 years old And they were saying like I don't want to buy a new one. They're expensive. I want to get this one fixed But yet they have cell phones Okay, that's a little odd. Yeah, so they don't know how to fix it. So they say it's possessed But yeah, they fix it Okay, and then they have another student who talks with puppets of most of the time She makes these hand puppets and talks with them Yes, and then you've got the one male Not all the time. Just like answering a question in class with a hand puppet. Yeah, it's random Okay And then you've got the male one male student who like is always crazy over the top like with his reactions and stuff and then you've got the the The what do you call them the people the teachers who basically run the club the advisor, I guess you could say She's like likes the club, but she doesn't like being the advisor per se like she's just like okay We're going on a field trip. Yeah, the field trip is outside the school and the in the field out back It's so funny. She has this big but I want this she is a plushie of Beef on a stick. It's a big puffy pillow of beef on a stick Wow, yes, and she has a pet chicken named beach ad And then okay, here's a greatest Thinking that the character's slow. I'm thinking the advisor is slow The best part of this whole show was all the animals make their own weird voices like when the birds come overhead They're like wow, wow, wow It's like some Japanese person just saying some random Japanese word Yes, the black birds are like brah and then the cats. Okay, here's what's even funnier The cats have their own fucking episodes The cats have two episodes dedicated to them and they talk in Japanese And the best part is okay, you know the guys in effect, right? There is an episode where a Canadian girl comes to the school And at first they're like because she's speaking horrible English by the way horrible English And then she's like no I can talk I speak Japanese and she starts speaking weird ass Japanese and She's talking about how bad kanji is and she can't read kanji very well, but it's even worse Her cat speaks English and these two cat there's one name cat named mike or mike and Now yeah, if you're sharing the Vikings are probably beating the shadow of the of the Cardinals anyway So basically these cat episodes follow These two cats mike or mike chan mike and hosan These two cats they're both strays, but Sora gives them food every now and then So This other third cat shows up and he's speaking English. She goes. Oh, I am lost Oh, I don't know where my home is and they're like what what are you saying and then finally they go you're in Japan speak Japanese It's like wow guys in effect and in full effect right now Whenever everyone just thinks like ha ha ha ha that's stupid English speaking cat Yeah, itchy this show is extremely random the show has no story whatsoever If they could you know slice of life a hundred and twenty five percent and There's a lot of animal cruelty there's no scene Where they would they take out a crayfish and a lobster and make them fight But they make them fight by butting their heads together They're holding one in each hand and putting them together to get them the fight They're called crab versus law. He was crayfish or crab versus lobster, but the guy is too stupid to figure out Oh, it's a crayfish Or there's another episode where one of the art guys wants to turn the crayfish blue so they keep feeding it salmon Just random, but there's just something about this show. They're just fun to watch. I think it's because The show is just so easy going The show is There's no plot. There's there's just random silliness Um, oh Yeah, and the cats can write kanji and actually during one episode. It's called a cat day, too Sora gets sick and feeds them dried Sardines, but they're horrible. They're like gone bad or something, but Sora is too sick to figure that out So the cats try to show her like they don't want to eat it so they sniff it and then they fall over dead So there's another male cat like he's fat and everything. He's like the leader and he somehow writes with a pen and a pencil or a pencil on some paper you write some kanji because I'm trying to figure out how to Get Sora to notice how to talk to Sora and they go wait a minute. You can write you're a cat. How can you write? Yeah, this this does not sound like a shirt I would like except in really really small doses. We can be high to like it Because it was funny all the comments I was reading cuz I was like it's wondering like how do people? precede this show Everybody on fricking crunchyroll. I bring my art sketchbook everywhere now God but no, here's the thing though This show Captures like the beauty from Sora's eyes and everyday things There's a scene in a later episode where it turns so cold she can see her breath Well, she stands outside for three hours blowing her breath watching the white puffs come out and she got sick but Yeah, she's not all there No, but they go on like like I was saying like they go out to this random field And during fall what's that? Where else would you go in a field sheriff except a field? Yeah, exactly. Well, it's like some nature reserve or some bull crap some forest and Everyone and a lot of the people there's this main group of people are clever like. Oh, this is boring Nothing's different, but then you see it through Sora's eyes and she's walking around you find bugs crawling up, you know a plant or the changing of the leaves and Stuff like that. Uh the artwork was very well done I mean, it's pretty standard, but they do get intricate How it sounds like it could be It's more like the scenery the scenery is really well done. It's not bland And you really get the sense of what? Sora feels when she's looking at this beautiful scenery and you can understand like where she can see the beauty and things And there's a lot of cats and pet chickens Yeah, you like kitties. Well, go ahead. It sounds it sounds like it might have an agenda I mean obviously it's trying to get people to see the beauty in everyday life. Exactly. It's a very easy-going show How heavy-handed is it with that? I mean, I'm not sure my favorite shows have agendas. Well, there's no agenda in this. It's just part of the way Sora is Right, but they're they're obviously saying that's the way everybody should be. No, I'm not saying that at all a lot of the episodes have random They have to do Just silly stuff like one episode like I said it's dead to the cats and in meeting the Canadian cat who speaks English and Or the episode where They oh the art the art club president or teacher got a woman It's all excited because she's bringing in a chicken for them to draw but loses the chicken or there's another episode where as Sora gets given a digital camera she She's always hated digital cameras. She likes to buy draw from her memory of what she sees but that she's given a digital camera to borrow and She's all she's doing is walking around the entrance to the school photographing a tree next to a fountain and All the different things she's seeing and Her getting to actually like the digital camera because she can keep all these really interesting things That she might forget in a memory, you know while she's drawing it, but she can try Perfectly the way she's side because of that digital camera So wait, they have digital cameras, but they're using cassette players. Yeah, exactly and they have cell phones Okay, yeah, it's weird, but yeah, this show is a hundred percent like if you just want something to watch Then you don't want to think about what you're watching. It's just silly fun humor that You could show this show to a nine or ten 12-year-old This is like a good anime for a younger audience and for an older person because this show is just so funny in the overreactions of the students or The clumsiness of Sora or the wackiness of the kitty cats It's just a show that It's just there and it's just interesting because it's nothing It's interesting and nothing. Yes. No, exactly. It's very hard. It's Like I said, if you could define a slice of life, this is slice of life times like 200 Because literally other than the Canadian students showing up names Kate by the way other than the Canadian students showing up and Sora keeps bumping into this girl with the digital camera every now and then there is no continuation in the story zero So I would recommend this if you want something that you just want to watch You don't want to get emotionally you tied to you don't want to You know Just something light-hearted. This is the show for you and I guess if you like if you are into artsy stuff You know, I guess you would like this too Everyone in Crunchyroll was like all right bring my sketchbook everywhere now because this show does it too I everybody on anime on DVD. I remember when this came out. They were all like, oh, this is so wonderful It sounds really mowed to me and I'm not sure. There's nothing more about it. I'm like well The show is just so cutesy. Yeah, that's mo. That's oh is it now. Yeah, I can mix up on the old moi Okay, meaning mo moi is cutesy and she's how you went out as soon as you said that she was um clumsy that's H purple hair and purple eyes and she's cute. Yeah, but it's not like sexual cute. It's like Oh is not sexual cute. There's a difference, but okay Yeah, it sounds like something I might like in really small doses, but probably not yeah I've been to be honest. I've been watching this on my lunch break. I get an hour for lunch every day. I watch One I usually watch two episodes I've got one episode left I haven't watched the ending but I'm not really I wasn't gonna wait to share this show just watch ending because the show is pointless When you get down to it? It's just something that's there. That's something that's cute fun The characters are really fun the cats are really fun if you like cats or have a cat you're kind of cute cats And how the cats talk and how they think like they explain like the higher the cat The more dominance I have so like one of the first episodes Mike meets this really fat cat I forgot his name But he keeps going he's higher than him. So he's like oh get higher than him So he jumps on the top of the roof so the cat jumps on top of a An electrical pole so he's higher than Mike It's just silly stuff like that And they go three times they tell us a cat dominance is based on how high they are compared to other cats It's like okay So so wait you've you've gotten to episode 20, right? No, there's only 13 episodes We're talking about shuffle, right? No, what sketchbook never mind. Sorry. Excuse me Wrong bid not paying attention. Yeah Shuffle is a harem. Yeah, that's totally different show. Oh, yeah, and I reviewed us. I reviewed shuffle You can go back and listen to that in episode 36 It's called reshuffles the deck very I'm not to get off topic, but if you've wanted to watch shuffle do not judge it by the first four episodes You must watch it At least through the first six or seven Anyway, yes sketchbook full colors is the name of it. I believe you can watch it for free on crunchyroll.com. You don't need to have a a Subscription and I believe it's only in 480p So you're not gonna get a high definition stream or anything like that. So yeah But check it out if you're born and just don't want to invest anything The emotional time or when they into something you want to just watch and kind of just zone off well because the music is really nice Like I said the intro music is really nice The music for the moods and the scenes are kind of just laid back acoustic riffs and drums and Nice stuff like the flutes stuff like that So yeah, that's enough about that that's enough about this show though I would give it a thumbs up just because it's just it's interesting for some weird reason So there's anything else you want to discuss or talk about before we wrap up the show for this week No, don't think so Well, oh, I do want to say thanks again.
