haven't been able to watch an entire show from start to beginning yet and uh yeah i've had a busy weekend so i haven't had a chance really get anything together and then today kind of came i was like oh yeah i have that show i have to do yeah well so i'd have to laugh i was i wasn't wasting salons so i was not didn't get a whole lot done either but caused by puritans were you accosted by puritans no no not accosted by puritans thankfully but you know i've managed to avoid that damn it always always a danger on Thanksgiving but you know hey convert no uh yes so uh last week's awesome hand tie episode is doing very well uh we have broken our own download record thank you to all the new listeners we have well over a thousand downloads for the entire month um and now we get to put him tie scouts so yes we have the japanese box office uh numbers in from october 10th to 11th and i know a lot of we're going why and i'm not going to bring all them all the movies up because honestly none of us are going to know what the hell this is um the reason i did bring this up though was the cg version of astro boy opened up and just so you know it failed miserably in america now you bring it over to the land of astro boy in japan it opened at 10th it must not be a very good down yeah it's pretty terrible it's from what i've heard the japanese didn't like it because it's too american and i'm guessing americans didn't like it because it's too japanese i mean that's a kid's movie yes i mean when you think of 3d anything you don't think oh astro boy make a good 3d film so yeah pretty sure that movie is going to bomb and they're going to go you're not touching that anymore but uh you know another 3d movies that'd be nice right stuff uh for those who don't know was made based off of astro boy i mean they they started as a company by giving making re-releases of astro boy and that was how they started and they're probably one of the largest online retailers of anime in existence um well it's really strange that it did so poorly it's i don't know how many times can you retail the damn story of you know astro boy of course it's not exactly it's more of like this boy can do anything because he's astro boy more than like the story itself i don't know i'm never gonna watch it um yeah so i just want to bring that up because it's like wow you know with shill from japanese they could do a little better so yeah let's go and move on to the uh japanese animation blu ray disc rankings cayon is still kicking ass uh it has number volume number five is out um and really wanted to bring this up but i want to find out how the hell uh baka kamore is doing we talked we spoke about the volume two doing so well uh you know doing the some amazing numbers it's still in the top ten i actually know it dropped on it it's number 12 now uh last week was at number three so i think finally it's losing its steam but uh baka kamore is doing a huge number still and then eva is still in the top 20 the uh 1.11 so you know which serves me is that the star wars the clone wars first season is at five come on japan don't be taken in by lucas crap hey they have to deal with danny too dancing a storm true for every day in aca harbor so they're probably true true but you know you you would think they could that would show them how they don't need to be uh there's me buying crap they would need to do it any more of that but you know there you go i don't know just doesn't make sense to me uh yes so um i'm gonna skip this story because i don't know who that is uh so as i alluded to in the intro what manga gets a record 2.85 million print run well it should be a surprise one piece still for a manga that is freaking huge i mean that's amazingly huge for manga and um especially for manga this not any good hey do you maybe not but excuse me obviously they're doing something right you just hate shonen in general no i watch bleach but that's now that's the only shonen i watch but in general that shonen is not my favorite type of anime now i go in for the what i like to call the mind-sock anime the anime that makes you watch it you go what the hell was that no you feel stupider after watching it yes but then when you understand it you make yourself even feel even more is there you go um so here's kind of a funny thing uh so shonen jump with some of their magazines came out with like these pendants for Naruto and uh apparently they have a lot of lead in them so they're being recalled um so no points for guessing where they were made since they have lead in them yeah there were four uh pendants that were Naruto with bleach one piece death note uh as well as a final fantasy kingdom heart symbols also contain the lead so there you go you've got four super popular enemies and two really popular video games all the little toys you can get with them oh here you go you know lead in them kids put them in your mouth and suck on them for a while but you know i have to wonder by the time that the at least i wouldn't show these to anybody who is like oh i don't know three these animes here Johnny suck on this yeah if you're 10 or 12 and you're sucking on a pendant there's something already wrong with you it's the lead chips growing up but granted you know these were made in china that's what i say no points for figure out where they were made and yes we should be putting lead in them but you know who's gonna suck on these who's gonna be that retarded ah oh look at they also sold this stuff to retailers so yeah there's those little cheapy you know necklaces and bracelets and drunk bad so but yeah so i wonder if they if they're gonna go up in price there's another lady who's not letting them these are yeah exactly get the the uh before they're recalled get someone get your lead now yeah these are dangerous that would be pretty pathetic if they did yes so uh here was a thing i think this is like the biggest news of the week funimation starts initiative for co-producing anime um anime though if funimation makes it because funimation is an american company well they're not making it they're having say on what happens from the very beginning i think i think it i think it also means i have more stake in the show itself so if it does better they're also going to get a piece of the action but yeah i i i don't know it's i guess it is i guess everyone was using everyone was using uh the same way like you know how funimation got really involved behind the um uh what is it the ninja afro samurai right how funimation got behind that and help co-produce that is that really anime though who cares if it's really anime yes it is okay it was just made in america just because it was made in japan i would think doesn't make it any more it's not anime that depending on who you ask that especially you could say the same thing about the boondocks is that really anime well no oh no but erin gruder the creator of boondocks is very influenced by anime and loves anime so he stylized his characters after the anime but it's not anime but uh yeah i guess funimation is just you know trying to get more involved in the whole anime uh process in terms of making a new anime show and you know i i just don't know what more they could do i just don't understand the point but you know if you want to read more check out anime news network does a huge thread ongoing about this i just don't get to be honest i mean i guess i only see if they made a lot of money you know on the show but you got really popular you know funimation go yep we got it we're we're on that we're gonna release it right away maybe we'll be able to release it faster maybe though maybe though uh show the show or something you know stream it you know in english as it's coming on japan i don't know you know yeah that'd be kind of interesting but they are they're talking about bringing in anime in studios to make anime from non-japanese materials such things it is such things like batman and nature and well no no no those were already done yes they were but these are examples of things that have been done in the past and yeah root off the red nose reindeer the anime yeah yeah yeah that's what i want to see hey come on kids come watch anime the root off the red nose version look at how great that you can have instead of all the red lights and we shooting fireball a lot of root off nose in the on track it's over nine thousand eight oh no games but now he comes and takes revenge yeah i don't think so there you go we're going to take next story oh which next story we're doing okay so the Eden of the East film has been delayed until march not having any number two the second film yes the east excuse me the eating is the meeting the Eden of the east east the movie to paradise lost hopefully it's not based off of the poem of the same name no it's not that's good the second film sequel to the Eden of the East anime series has been delayed until march the film was originally scheduled for january 9th yep according to the company the production issues for delay are the reason for the delay since the company had initially planned two 60-minute film sequels however according to the story structure was expanded so maybe they made them yay i made them longer if i have to go watch a freaking movie for you're gonna pay to watch it that sucks 60 minutes it's like uh oh man yeah the first one is now 82 minutes and the second one is going to run for 90 minutes so still not two hours but closer still let's even get some closure because man yeah Eden of the east the first Eden of the east movie is still opening as planned this saturday yep it's already been released in japan yep and funimation is still getting the original tv series yes cannot wait i will be buying that healthy ew that's such a good show such a good show if you've not seen Eden the east it's very well done so i've never seen any other anime show that asks can i see your johnny in any other show in english they have like a perfect english sonic person in the unit it's basically this guy wakes up doesn't know where he is he's naked and he's right outside the white house and uh the only reason the people the only reason the primarily american uh guards protecting the american police protecting the white house area are so stupid they only know this guy because as wang is hanging out and one of the officers in english comes by and says i need to see your johnny so yeah you know there's making fun of america and then there's making fun of america hey you know what though it wasn't english it was like natively speaking english it was awesome yes but the only question i had though was like the guy would be like like a guy the main character ran into someone who lives at his who lives in the same boarding house he lives in apparently and he doesn't know where he needs to go but he asks in japanese 200 american do i live in the third or second floor and the american goes you live on the second floor it's like what how does this american guy just know japanese and there's answering them in native english oh you know you never know but the world is anime everything is possible i mean we haven't lost the red nose reindeer shooting fireballs so yeah um so yeah there you go so yeah he did the easterl very good movie uh so yeah for all you lucky star freaks and gigantor they've been made honorary residents so now you can go see their homes for these people who don't really exist yes so on the census uh you know conota will be voting and can were boring in hollywood do any worse probably yes definitely look at hell a lot better maybe the uh the death note that falls out of the sky won't look like two pieces of construction paper with some notebook paper duct tape you know taped inside it's literally that's what in the live action version of the first yes it's very true it looks like a freaking piece of construction paper but so but evidently he is in talks and has had meetings about playing the light yogamy role in a hollywood remake of death note which according to the lady on anime vise is a cool thing because he kind of looks like light i don't know i don't like him since he's involved in twilight that's reason enough for me to hate him yes because i know him making a living doing movies is just not you know no no that's not a reason enough but yeah say everyone can go shoot themselves now he is going to be involved in the death note remake unfortunately i'd go watch it to be honest let's see what it's like that and he's also mentioning about the full metal panic i wonder if that thing will ever get off the ground i don't know part of me just wants to see it because i love the show so much how long have they been supposedly doing an in a cure a live action movie like which one they've supposedly been doing and i can cure a live action movie oh we're oh yeah yeah yeah i were talking about that last year it was supposed to be like set in the future and they ride like crazy looking motorcycles and i don't know it was head Leonardo DiCaprio and which is the last time we had a discussion like this oh my god what do they think it yeah i didn't you know they're always supposedly making an e-bong alien live action movie yeah yeah we'll see so talk about talk about your new york times deplorable state of the i want to hear about this okay the wall according to and i got this from an anime vase this was not covered on the oh anime news network that i saw but the wall street journal has has an article about discontent sweeps into japanese anime studios it is by some japanese guy evidently yuka high ashai and talks about that it's become hugely popular around the world but things behind behind the scenes things aren't so rosy depends animation industry is struggling anime workers are unhappy toiling long hours at low pay sales are declining on top of that there is fast growing timber competition from across asia studios in china and south korea now turn out high quality anime style programs with cheaper labor and government subsidies it's evidently anime has grown into japan's most popular cultural export export talks about spirited away and pokemon accordingly supposedly part of the problem is the shrinking population of children in japan yeah that's kind of a problem people aren't pro people that's another problem that they're facing caught overall the this is discouraged toy makers television networks and other traditional sponsors from funding anime which is driven away anime studios toward making animated soft poorland violent movies targeted adults no one ever should have as that's what i like and it says as well the internet is killing them because of all you damn pirateers damn you play rosy you rate my mother and burn my crops uh after peaking at ninety seven three point billion yen in two thousand six anime dvd slid eighteen percent from here earlier to seventy two point eight billion yen which is only eight hundred million dollars but okay come on though also says morale is low industry executives nine out of ten new workers quit within three years meaning to leave for better paying jobs and video games yeah but come on these are stupid arguments um there's a lot of sorry i'm gonna cut you off but come on these are overused win it so but look it's an article on the wall street journal i'm not going to read the whole thing is long well maybe it's because of us because we're in the know we pay attention to stuff right if you're a just someone rousing i mean who reads a new the wall street journal businessman exactly exactly they're not going to go oh i don't know about that anime stuff yeah and it's so it's an interesting let's you know making enough waves so maybe some but come on seven hundred mil it's a million or billion eight seven okay it's eight hundred million dollars seventy two point eight billion okay eight hundred million dollars that's an eighteen percent slide still do you hold that's important the economy man the economy is kicking everybody's ass you can't expect 2006 is when the economy started tanking worldwide it's 2009 this just didn't happen one day and and you know everything's hurting and yeah you know what the preparation of computers excuse me the preparation of computers have made things a lot easier in korean studios do a hell of a bit you know do a good job too such shows like the Simpsons are animated in korea you know um what's that they want to actually give people living wages in the u.s to do it so i do it great so i have the other thing too but i mean like i don't know these arguments i mean like we've talked about them before oh we have this is all stuff that the news here is that it's being covered by the wall street here i don't see what the point is not anymore we've been talking about forever yeah i mean piracy is nothing new to the forums on uh anywhere it's always the anime industry is dying oh my god there are parts of it is part of it's true i mean hell jenny on dad 80v's dead um cpm died this year sorry if you lose 18 percent of your market share then you go out of business because people stop investing in you because the investment market is always about making money quickly yeah well i mean that's the breaks and it is you know yeah and everything it touches on a good thing japan isn't the the people are aged 24 25 you know i know you're a little older but no offense yes but still you know you're in pre-work you know if you were to have a kid tomorrow it's not like you're so old you can't go play football with them when he's nine or ten but sure people aren't wanting to have kids in japan and this has been an looming issue where the workforce is getting older but now they're not even having enough people to fill all the job roles and now japan is i don't even know if it's seriously considering it well there's been a huge outcry to greatly relax the um the from from foreigners coming into the into the country to work hey cool maybe i could move his pant job job this is a nucleus can you say nucleus hey i would living in japan would be kind of cool enjoy your four enjoy your 400 square foot cracker box with yes yes a bedroom slash living room slash kitchen in one room but hey man i'd be in the middle of the anime world because i need to get laughed and go freaking freaking guys in well yeah i i'll tell you what i'd be i'd be the the cool other than all the hot japanese chicks you know you know you know you got the who invest in this industry in the u.s to be like oh yeah you know you've got to change this so that we stop losing money because that the business culture in japan is very very strange so they don't change quickly and they don't adapt to new things very quickly uh there's a saying that i've heard in anime and i have heard in uh japan and it was about japan because we heard it in flash forward that is very very true that the nail that sticks out gets hammered down and they don't they're not creativity in japan is not looked on as a good thing what people like bill gates they absolutely despise what yes this is very true there are very much a you have to do things in the proper order and you have to come up go up through the ranks if you have a new idea but you're not the top of the food chain obviously your new idea doesn't matter and we're not going to invest anything in it well obviously that's not true because look at things like mia moto what the with the super mario brother the donkey con games in the 80s he was a music composer he was a music composer had never made a game and just pitched the idea on a whim when nintendo was kind on the brink of destruction saying hey this might be kind of cool can we try this but it's only when the company is on the brink of construction that things like that happen there's there's still very much a i mean feel free to anybody who wants to disagree with me feel free but in online or in emails but they're very much still a stratified um i mean it's changing they now hire women in technology companies but there's women still serve tea in meetings you know they're very much a stratified hey just girls who get served tea are getting paid to they're called personal assistance they are but they hire you not as a personal assistant they hire you as a you know to work on making robots but then they give you that job because you're old oh whatever you can't prove any that you don't live in japan no but i'm from what i have heard from people who do stuff like that still goes on and that is still very much a big part of japanese pleasure yeah well we'll see so i mean and that was the actually the lady who lived in japan for a year and wrote a book about it i'll have to review her book at some point because it's very good uh talks about that as well if you want to paul has i get the book and give you her name i new for the the straight news and the lady who runs this calls it anime the entire time when she's doing her her little spiel and i have actually never heard that before i've always called it anime i have it's anime anime anime anime anime anime is there a direct pronunciation or not really just uh people part i think when you're down south it's pronounced a little differently see if the southern accent it doesn't really matter it makes fun of us suburbs besides it does sound right because in japan the ease or a's huh really yeah okay well i will have to start because watching a show uh sketchbook one of the guy's names is mike what they call mike no mike kun well so they evidently know more than us so um but okay so it's automated all right i'll have to do that they also have a top 10 reasons why you should be thankful you're an otaku and i just thought i would might go through those quickly because they're hilarious okay for there's a whole bunch of um other things that they say about them oh no just go run down the top 10 real quick give you the top 10 everyone hates you we own the con circuit it's foreign meaning you are mysterious anime is the only medium to have fighting tournaments there is a mecca to call home otaku is the international word for cool your hobby has its own in-house foreign department you can pick and choose your significant other since this is about the guy who decided to make his wife from the game from the game yes yes guard does not exist anywhere else what doesn't guard g r a guard character is a divinently a character that excents in pure manliness fish to the north star all the way evidently they haven't been down to south america where they have mikizmo but new things are invented every day there are number one reason to be sorry grateful that you aren't an otaku uh no it's rather entertaining they have a picture of its foreign meaning you're mysterious with one some kid in a some american looking kid screaming between two um oh shoot whatever you call those japanese warriors from the they're called samurai's samurai thank you but i have to turn in my otaku card now i would never call myself an otaku ever but i just think that's rather entertaining to end on a funny note man that it's it everybody hates you which is true yeah no but okay we are the underdogs and uh yeah there's only news invented every day bull crap because it always comes back to the same exact thing every anime I've ever seen what's the first scene oh they're getting they're late to school i swear to god yes but these things are not created by professionals professionals uh but from the fans what she's talking about is doxinii manga games man so those doxinci those mad's visual novels and to hapi which i don't know what that is but yes a lot of anime is totally uh you mean a lot of the stories amongas and junk with that a lot of stories are very much the same very true because i'm not saying i'm getting tired of like harems and yes i agree oh that's about the high school kid this is seemingly normal high school kid oh but something happens to him here's an anime about it or i hate showings now with a passion typically because they're all the same high school kid gets special powers and meets a mysterious girl and can do these powerful things buso rinkin bleach etc i hate showings with a passion do now well that and they're all like nine million episodes apiece exactly which is annoying never can't just be like oh you killed that badass monster with your badass sword the end no if anybody can tell me what the heck to you hohu is uh i have urban dictionary route and the anime vice pages are telling me jack about what it is urban dictionary check it out well no i wasn't come on and i'm trying to get people to call into the show i don't even have something okay so somebody can tell me what that is uh yeah i don't have a prize for you but i'd be really happy because i got no clue there you go so let's do our dvd pics real quick all right all right it's another week and more dvd's are being released what should you get it's time for the weekly dvd pics okay dvd pics yeah this week i am for sure bamboo blade volume one part one check it out it's awesome picked a really good voice actors the story overall it seems cute and you know kind of like oh this guy is it's like the mighty ducks the guy he's on his bad luck because he was drinking and driving in his car but then he has to take over some misfit oh wait that isn't mighty ducks sorry now um the show seems really kind of cutesy and and everything else uh but there's actually a lot underneath involving characters who you think are all bubbly and happily but secretly they're scary and evil and uh it's just a fun watch and tomah kicks ass so yeah bamboo blade check it out it's you can get it on the uh otaku miss missooki.com website for about forty five dollars or right stuff has it for decent price as well um picked up my copy last week good stuff how about you man well i've got don't know much about any of the things that are coming out this week but you know there's always hint i um i've done of that coming out this week uh demon based invasion tentacle trap there you go evidently there's more little blue girl coming out there uh so i'm probably gonna have to go with the ghost in a shell 2.0 edition if you have not seen ghost in a shell yet simply because that is an absolutely incredible show and i bet on blue ray it is going to look absolutely incredible uh that that was one of the shows that got me into anime and is still my favorite type of anime uh blood the last vampire also came out on blue ray i didn't really like that too much it's a great action show but i like my shoulders to have more character and plot and you really don't figure out anything about anything in that show you don't do anything about anything new ninja movie is like that's that's a new one you don't figure out anything about anything well in an anime usually in a movie they kind of explain things toward the end and even in avon yellian it does make sense at the end after you think about it for a while it doesn't in blood the last vampire they had to make a series after that called blood plus which changes a huge amount of things to make it actually make sense oh hey say is pretty cool okay yes saia kicks massive ass i agree but i'd like to know more would have liked to have known more about her and about what she was and all these things and you get that in blood plus but they kind of made her less cool about what day in the middle of the week and yeah so and i didn't have any reviews i'm sorry i'm well i'm getting through sketchbook pretty damn quick though i've figured about four days i'll be done with it i do about three episodes a day of sketchbook i will say i have watched up to episode uh ten now of the first season of kadoma no jikin oh yes yes i said anime that i said i was gonna kill myself if i ever watched send us an email we like hearing from people even if you're gonna tell us we suck just so we know that people are listening uh but because we know we we have low self-esteem we're in it we're otaku so you maybe i was a joke i would never ever refer to myself whether or not i would need or i don't know enough nearly enough about anime to do that well okay i never replaced all the
