40 of the bonsai beat and so thanks very much Pat for joining us so fortunately Zodar cannot make tonight's episode but nonetheless anime expo 2009 is currently going on in california the biggest con in the United States or at least I have a most heavily advertised that all the big wigs in the American anime industry are there came out a lot of new announcements and all kinds of good stuff if to hear from you so let's go ahead and jump right into the news because there's lots of stuff already okay yeah okay okay this week in anime news brought to you by anime news networks okay well well do you want to just start with the right stuff unfortunately uh information you know if you remember last year's uh a x they were the people that stole the show and decided you know talk about everything even before they uh anime expo started last year well this year they're keeping a tight lid so we have them um becoming up next tomorrow so uh right stop in the zone they were like first they were the first uh industry to come out with any news yeah and i want to news i don't care about really tell me tell me something there i should care okay they gave me some release dates but besides that it's all yeah shown in i or yowie or you don't want jonju romantica no or re-releases of old central park media hentai oh come on there's nothing there i hear about personally yeah i mean they gave us a release date of the final uh aria set in or an area when it's going to come out in 2010 but besides that yeah and they weren't even very specific on that um yeah these were not exactly bomb shells um they're coming out with an anime value line basically they're just remastering a bunch of deaths uh boogie pop phantom hit the murder circumstances irresponsible captain tyler and um you know if you've been to right stuff dot com they've had banner ads all over the place you know thank only him or circumstances dot right stuff dot com etc etc this is nothing new um rent go magic uh uh will be released a new release yep rent go magic i will be released in september there's one i actually kind of care about i'm probably going to get that show but you got everything though i thought you got everything though i don't get everything i don't get um antique bakery or to joe romantica i probably will get rental magic i watched it fancumped and it's a good it's an okay show it's not amazing by any stretch of the imagination but it's it was fine so i probably can get it yeah actually considering who's releasing it and then they said maria watches over a season four will also be released sometime in 2010 uh the next announcement was for aria tv uh they've got the series and the ova um which were both again it's the last part oh okay last tv series okay yeah again they said oh it's coming in 2010 well thanks um there's that there's one cool thing about this uh was um they're going to be really releasing um some special some special lithography with the special editions what the thing is the fans get to choose um what they're thinking of the the geography they want to release they've they've done some cool bonuses with um their DVDs in the past so that's not the surprise they did these cool with one of the aria sets they came with a squeeze toy of president aria the cat mm-hmm then with another one they came with um these papercraft things of the boondings and their boat thingies gondolas oh okay so they do cool stuff like that so it's not something out of the ordinary for them i would say okay gotcha that's kind of cool they're cool indeed um well that was the zomian right stuff and i'm a little disappointing i should say at least but you know it's right stuff they don't come up with bombshells um so bandai i know your favorite was next up um the big thing i think was kind of big was that the japanese music company landis or is it landis sorry landis it's going to be bringing j-pop to itunes in in the u.s and canada and the first people they're going to be bringing is jam project and i know you saw these guys last year at orkhan and you were yeah they were really favorite so um they said they're going to either start doing that late july early august so um i think it's really cool if they're going to be bringing japanese you know pop bands and whatnot over for the u.s yeah you get to get a taste of it jam projects and awesome group to start with so you went though i already have a lot of their stuff less than questionably i'm gonna buy whatever they put up so uh yeah i mean that's that's pretty cool the other bands they're talking about was um a haryana which you know did the voice actor of haruhi and did a lot of music from that and lucky star um menori uh jihiro and a couple others so should be pretty good so yeah jam project i know jam project i know i know all three of these that they mentioned but no still it's not something i know much of gotcha um the dvd release of cold gas season two which is going to be going to sale in august um the next title that was was gundam double oh which actually just started airing in the united states inside by general um well i think this is for season one in season two he started airing okay because yeah they haven't even released season one yet season one box set one which is the first nine episodes comes out yeah or the release states july 21st i have my copy sitting on my desk right here i got it yesterday oh snap that's a little wow not even close to july 24 years it's a little another release stuff sometimes early but damn yeah company's got this one pretty early almost a month early so i've got mine right here not a special edition came with the first volume of the double o um adaptation manga in the first volume of double o f which is a side story okay so yeah so you got the two you got the two manga's and everything released with it sweet that's awesome right next to me we'll take that you're ready yeah you're like uh they're just announcing it now but i'm holding it right now excellent yes um lucky star fans uh bandai has got the right to the ova not surprisingly the cool thing is i think 15 bucks but it's going to be subbed only 15 bucks sub only and yet here's the thing it's one episode yeah it's a little longer than most i think it's 40 minutes long but um it's still one episode for 15 bucks yeah and um i don't know like for someone like me i watched it you know dubbed it's kind of weird watching it subbed only but you know whatever you stick with the julys back on the spending yep yep only the big stuff gets stops now from them so gunning yas yeah all the stuff that will sell yeah stuff that's on tv basically yeah i know you'll like this um hiatus the combat butler season one will be released july 21st and set one uh won't know it's like we set one it's just the first seven episodes i thought hi to combat but there was like 53 episodes yes oh okay so volume one okay so volume one is july that's the thing that can accuse me like all these you know all these releases lately have been um you know box at part one part two part three part four etc etc yep you know there's 53 episodes of this show we get there like we're gonna release volume seven episodes you know it's like five or six you know four episodes is more than uh than your standard four yeah it is kind of low that would should have been more because it's sub only and shit i mean i'm still buying it i didn't pre-order it but i will i'll definitely check it out because like you know i've heard good things from you over good things from a lot of people both the show and uh so far he even steered me wrong in any anime but he could be like oh check out that entry bakery it's really good i've heard positive things about antique i have to it's not they're not gonna make me watch it but i've heard positive things yeah same here i've heard so i just can't get in i thought about telling my buddy who's ruling the baking hey check out this antique bakery um then they said they're gonna be coming up with an quote unquote uh anime legend or anime they fuck up those two names i did um the anime led yeah okay anime legends line basically is what bandage is coming out with um true and this is just stuff they've kind of just held onto and haven't done anything with uh true tiers that's gonna be released in a complete dvd 13 episode on july 21st sola is gonna be hitting the streets uh in august with a complete three disc dvd set for 4495 and um a new license for a full-length aureka seven movie release which will be screened in theaters with a partnership of yeah are they the same people who did the um if i put more down here god damn it oh well um they did other they do a bunch of stuff they done some other stuff with band nine before yeah i was saying did they do the stuff with um with okay then just i'm thinking of the best stuff is all if they were the same people behind it um yeah and then the other stuff was just more or less uh anti um cpm or uh anime or the critical mass is picking up a lot of cpm's anime 18 titles they really didn't say anything particular yippie scapey if you're an anime or an anti you will like that i guess um some other news uh vis is to publish the one piece uh number 24 through volumes 24 through 53 get this from january 2010 to june 2010 some of six months they're gonna be releasing tons and tons of one piece month they're gonna be releasing 29 volumes in six months yes wow that is a lot yes i think that's going to be uh stop people complaining about it hey there's not enough stuff coming out you know from the manga one piece had been behind for way too long at least they're finally speeding it up mhm. um there's something we're doing about five volumes per month um the cool kind of the neat thing is 53 just came out in japan so i mean granted it's gonna be a year from now when you get it when you get it but yeah that's so they can speed it up but they're not getting too close to where they're sitting all in yeah yep yep um they're also gonna be releasing um rosaria rosario plus vampire season two manga starting on april sixth 2010 um yeah cool i'm not a big one piece manga person but you know i know that's a number one that's a big complaint i always hear well i i haven't read the manga but um i love the anime so yeah believe me i've started watching one piece and oh i'm scared i don't want to be like oh i'm on episode 100 already in three days oh it's that good uh gonna be on episode 100 take breaks every once in a while though it'll wear you out uh yeah i gotta say i uh i don't mean to get off track or anything but i watched the four kids dub first and then i watched the funimation dub wow it was way different uh um anyway uh eva 1.0 is gonna be in north american theaters here we go funimation's screwing everybody yeah i'm pissed off about this i mean granted i would love to see this in theaters but give a shit about the theory of ruins no exactly what the pisses me up though was i i i was like okay fun you know i don't own blue ray anything i don't even own a blue ray prayer player or anything like that but i figured this was a good excuse to frickin get my very first blue ray release a frickin eva gallion that's gonna be awesome but now you can get it in the spring well exactly yeah funimation is basically gonna throw it in theaters as 1.0 and then 1.1 is gonna be the dvd release that's going to be well there's 1.0 which is the one that's going to be in theaters which is the original release yep then the then the first dvd release 1.01 yeah that's it which is the one that's coming out in the fall on dvd only no blue ray and then in the spring the second the newest dvd release of it 1.11 is going to be the spring released in the spring on dvd and blue ray and the big thing is they're they're a staggering it just like it's in japan well in japan you can already bar the damn thing on dvd and blue ray and they're showing it on tv and there's the kicker the tv version is different from the blue ray and the movie yeah i know i've been screwing everybody in japan so let me go heavy gallion everybody it's it's a retelling of the story what how many friggin it's just like the shit they do already here's the chromed edition on dvd but there's a specie there's a special shinji figure you know just something retarded the christmas version they're just only the same bullshit that they're doing yeah it's infuriating anyway yeah i just hope it all goes well i don't frickin know i've already mentioned that this is going to be doing their streaming of or are they're showing of the um the every area i'll wreck a seven film um all the oh sorry bent oh yeah you're right i apologize um to think about that though is they're changing the name here in the states they're calling it good night tucked in tight for young lovers that's like another goofy thing um sibasa actress yui menkino to appear at new york anime fest and i know you are going to this aren't you yeah should be oh she's cute yeah musket picture what but you know also it's a bunch of stuff yeah sibasa ariel welcome to the NHK aquarium so yeah if you're going to that go meet her cool uh let's see yes you can now watch Gundam 00 season two on sci-fi uh the first two episode premieres uh 11 p.m actually tonight it looks like so check them out here in a couple hours oh so this is on back on sorry Tuesday so every Tuesday at oh yeah you're right it is Monday if i get my days right uh every monday at 10 p.m so i'm taking catch episode three three on this coming monday yep and then watch two episodes a night so they're doing the same thing as the last last time it was one and then we'll go say this case three two then it's gonna be four three etc etc what no it's one two three four oh okay okay uh we don't need this new kennelkon anime is reportedly in the planning stages no more each of them you made it further in there than you finished it yes i gave up after two or three episodes well i didn't get that much better from there so it was basically yeah yeah but i figured it's only 12 episodes so i finished it so yeah more kennelkon in the way joy hey at least then say aki-kon the third Evie galleon remake film is gonna be called uh entitled cue the quickening um so i think it's just cue quickening oh yeah you're right so there's gonna be no more ukulele means where you can't go forward or backwards now you're just the quickening you are not alone and then the second one was you can not advance yeah i haven't seen any of them yet i don't really want to plan to be honest i'm not that interested they look good but i yeah i've seen it i don't know if anything special with wild from what i've heard it is i've heard a lot of very positive things hmm because i mean i've watched the entire show on a weekend and i don't know uh google for people who like avo's yeah yeah no exactly um oh yeah by the way that opened up and was number one not surprisingly 512 million yen the first uh was the first day of the first weekend either way it opened up huge number two did uh finally google chrome is getting its own manga cool so i guess if you like google chrome even more um google chrome got a comic book here in the states in japan they're getting their own manga and for developers and how great it is and the picture that anan gives us is one of the guys is shooting a chrome the browser window out like a uh like drag and bait like drag ball v now if only it was on the mac i would care really there's they don't have crew they don't have chrome on the mac no oh well they still don't have chrome on the mac oh wow talk about they fail yeah talk about not playing to all the geez that's terrible you thought they would have something supposedly they're still working on it it's just not out yet yeah they're not going to get me to switch to it no matter what oh yeah i have even touched the damn thing since it came out i've been sticking with firefox just work firefox 35 is pretty good that's oh i love it it's so much quicker and it doesn't crash as much anymore i was i was using the three five data already so one that bigger would change to me oh okay i went from three to three or three point oh four to three five and wow i need that i needed that porn mode already okay so explain that they just pop up a window oh there's a a tool to start private browsing it's under tools and it just it treats it like you have no history it doesn't do cookies or anything uh-huh gotcha so and it doesn't save anything so you turn it off and everything's gone you have no history uh there you go uh-huh yes wow we've only killed 23 minutes and this show was originally gonna be an hour and a half long wow um damn you sold off for not showing up he had a review of uh now and then here and there was very good we don't need but we're not gonna do anything no exactly we just talk about uh summer anime season yes hopefully yeah hopefully well hopefully hopefully you have some plenty to say not really but kind of yes but mostly not really because uh i'll be honest this summer this doesn't just doesn't look that good i have two things i'm interested in i have a couple myself um so the first show is entitled element hunters let me get this bigger we're not going into a crazy come on you want to get in the crazy we we we don't we don't got no cool music to bring us in oh okay yeah bring in the anime at you two thousand nine bitches or wait a minute no that's good enough exactly our failed attempt at wrapping i'll never hang out with Snoop Dogg uh yes element hunters looks gay moving on uh cobra the animation looks like it's from the frickin eighties actually it is from the eighties yeah that's why i'm gonna that's probably that's one of the two i'm interested in it radish yeah regent you don't even know anything about it i just want to watch it well it looks so badass it's like it reminds me of spike Spiegel but with long blonde locks and the cigar otherwise looks like i don't know it reminds me it just looks badass yes it does he holding though it's like an air hockey puck thing i have no clue that's a gun um the show we're just i mean i don't know anything about it all i know is it's based on an old manga nineteen seven million means awesome yes in my mind so i'll probably be watching it there will be no way no hesitation the series features an infamous space pirate cobra who is forced to hide from his enemies by surgically altering his face oh that's cool how the hell and he's racing his own memory at the start of the story he's living an ordinary life but after to a trip to a parlor where ordinary people live out their fantasies as parable implemented dreams he starts to regain his true myth that does sound badass with his android partner lady armadroid literally truss bursting out of his bulky domestic robot shame person okay screw this it sounds cool yeah it's like we might be a little bit of like face off when you're just like oh just take this off and pretend i'm somebody else um he's badass exactly well that'd be cool though i'll go dreaming like i'm badass i'm dreaming about it um so yeah it actually sounds something i'd probably check out that seems pretty cool uh screw princess lover i love that what it's like i don't care about luso no it's all a bunch of crap okay you really want to know about it it's an adaptation of pc ergo there you go enjoy uh next one is uh kana mimo whatever uh basically an adaptation of a uh she called her who's i was for coma story center around a kona kona nakamichi a middle school girl who's already lost her parents oh what a shock and recently lost her only remaining relative again shot as a result chance of living and working at a newspaper delivery office everyone else living in the office at the office are all charming self-assertive by shoujo and uh yeah it's a girl's only uh newspaper apparently and they're all cute i actually kind of might find this interesting but the whole thing that kind of turns me off is like they live there what the fuck go home well that is their home where do you work and live all right work at the post office at the newspaper stand with sexy attractive women okay well okay if i wasn't that same situation i guess i wouldn't go home either um so i mean i i'm gonna try i'm going to run the one to hot checks why would you leave yes please secure this i'm living here now i actually do want to check out the show just the first episode but this the premise doesn't really i don't know you know it leaves a lot to be desired to have to watch our first episode i guess um next one is sora no money money money i love butchering all these and that's probably the best pronunciation i could come up with that one sweet sora no mana money there you go and yeah in the story basically uh sagu or yagi is a quiet bookworm who moves back to his former hometown uh as a high school freshman he meets a childhood friend mohoshi uh akino although a traumatic incident long ago i left their friendship and in an awkward situation despite this they bring each other they uh saku brings him to the astronomy club where they have good time yeah i don't know think it's a comedy you know you think like if something so bad that happened you like either a what want to talk to him or b hey it's in the past let it go but looking at the stars can make everything better next week they look at the milky way um i definitely won't be probably checking this out maybe one episode um yuku wakuru gendai ma can't damn say that fast ma ma hohuru i you said it right yay um it's an adaptation of some late novels throwing your balls around koyumi uh moshitya a clumsy high school freshman girl who's optimistic and for a great schooler uh because of her shortness koyami becomes a discipline of miss uh here a 25 year old graduate student who happens to be one of the most powerful modern-day magicians sweet eat ah magic and cute girls oh yeah here's a show i'm really interested in seeing tokyo magnitude 8.0 um it's by bones by bones exactly i'm slightly more interested than i was before the premise is a the premise of the project is a 70% chance or higher possibility that a magnitude 7.0 earthquake will occur in tokyo in the next 30 years the anime will depict what would happen of an 8.0 took place attempting to realistically portray the consequences of such a tremor after collecting data on actual earthquakes and interviewing people the story will center around um you know okay basically it's around a professional a middle school freshman girl i gotta say this reminds me a lot of like this discovery channel like what happens if kind of shows yeah this is certainly interesting it's different to say the least no exactly because they're actually using like real data and they're doing their research they're not just like this happens you know there's no technical monsters or anything um i don't know i just find it interesting like my only question though like the consequences aren't that hard to figure out there's gonna be a lot of death and a lot of buildings are going to be on the ground but i don't know i i i say it's gonna be interesting at least um would you consider checking it out or are you still gonna miss i'll consider checking out i don't see myself actually uh that's something it'll probably get licensed before i watch it gotcha just because i kind of restricted myself to very specific things i watch fans up now pretty much stuff that i don't see getting licensed anytime soon or something i already have like a predisposed okay filled with another gum dome or another high a day or you know something you've watched in the past hey like yeah okay um and um you know like like the only show right now i watched kon the only show right now that i'm watching at this point until probably kobra starts and one other that we're getting to um is shin my singer shogak is at him okay and that's because that'll never get licensed so i don't care ever gotcha you go out of just no chance in hell of that giving life that's so what's so bad is it just terrible or you know it's in it's one of the best things i've fucking ever watched oh wow um it's just not something that would be marketed here it's a 26 episode these days it's a 26 episode super robot show uh they don't get much chance here anymore i don't see any getting licensed in the us anytime soon gotcha again you know if any should it would be that one gotcha oh crap what just happened shit see what firefox uh hold on a sec i just hit something and everything went away there we go let me get back to the correct one i don't know what it is also i was like bam at the bottom of this page okay next show i've actually seen the first episode for this it's actually simulcasting on crunchyroll um alihana um the show revolved around foamy uh majume an introverted bookish bookworm team where teenage girl um there she's starting high school she's a freshman um she bumps into an old friend from when growing up um but they end up going out to different schools and uh yeah um basically foamy is like a crybaby girl cry we used to cry like everything and she's always having these flashbacks to like when her friend who she later bumps into kept calling her a crybaby and um i think it's more of like a slice of life slash yuri there's already a lot of huge hints of yuri to come in this show but uh it was one of those shows like either you're gonna like it off a bat or you're not gonna like it and i'm kind of in the middle which kind of makes no sense what i just said yeah pretty much um i don't know i'm gonna watch one more episode but like this show just seems kind of goofy on how they kind of just rolled everything out anyway you can watch on crunchy roll um next show is needless art work is kind of cool uh it's being produced by madhouse studios so that's another cool thing yes um it's an action gag comedy with by shoujo and violence so there you go pretty girls and violence it is set in the year 2001-30 almost nine years before made off we'll get out with large spots of japan having being quarantined as the polluted black zones also known as BS yeah there's a lot of BS in japan and the aftermath of world war three however there are people who are settled beyond the massive walls of the black spots where they have developed mysterious powers and the city is outside have a label for the black spot people they have ostracized as needless wow why do they have to label everything in japan like if you're in world war one you have a label if you're in world war two you got a label i don't know i don't know i could check it out comedies are always cool to watch okay i have nothing to say uh no okay not on that one no um you mean it go new nakaru kora nai wow uh being produced by studio dean face day night uh an adaptation of virtual novel of a visual novel um takes place in the year 1986 during a time of of uh frame of october fourth and october fifth and a small secluded island named roko kojima god okay screw this all right here here's the part that here's all that man yes it's a new series from rio kishi oh seven the team who did um when they cry higorashi yeah it's a new story from them from from the people i've talked to it's supposed to be very good it seems kind of drifting so i don't know check it out i'm pro this is actually one i might check out it's like uh floating around then i might well i think it's funny how they're like doing the 24th thing like nope it's only in between this day and this day that's it no more yeah if you've seen hikorashi you know how that works um cool okay i would move on then i know one you're looking for do spice and wolf two this is the other one that i'm pretty much guaranteed to watch um and that's because i loved the first one the first season and i am really excited to view the second season gotcha well should we go on through the whole spiel or if you've seen number one you'll like one it's the number two um bakimona gatori this is pretty interesting um it's done by shaft um it's a bunch of short stories all right based on the two volumes of the baka i can't even say that i can't pronounce it bakimona gatori thank you it deals with a high school boy named koyumi agata gagai and strange students he encounters um whatever patch just says it works like in the term bakimono for supernatural creatures and the term wannagar to you for stories one student a girl named itagis and johara almost literally falls into his lap only to have him discovery she has no weight um i don't know it seems kind of interesting seems like you could be short one watch sorry i only have much to say no i'm looking over the other ones here real quick and uh i would say the other one finally i would just say that i tell you acts as a power of season two um this is that web series that's being produced isn't it on a weekly i think and they're only like what 15 minutes if that yeah i like them i haven't watched any other model i've watched the first couple which you showed me basically they're just pre war war two or they're just spoofing all the uh different nations and uh stereotyping everybody and if you've seen it you'll probably want to watch this if you haven't check out season one um uh see canon uh yeah that's this is a new one from pa works the guys who did um two tears two tears yep which if anyone watched that was actually really well animated yeah definitely uh it tells oh go ahead it's pretty much guaranteed to have at least good animation story didn't sound very interesting to me but i don't know detective story tells about a present day detective a young man a virus research okay i just kind of think i'm weird he's a uh a young man a virus researcher a furland slider and a cat mascot character who are brought together by bizarre events with a worldwide implications in the Tokyo neighborhood of shibuya so there you go you got a young man a guy a virus person thingy and a guy with cat suits good times oh that's good oh i'll check it out seems pretty funny yeah uh you know what i'm the same way a lot of these are yeah that's it there's a couple more we didn't go over but they this season just uh just seems a lot for girls this time around really i don't know it doesn't seem good i don't know they're not for girls they're for boys ever boys but still all that shits for guys most of it all the stuff with the pretty girls for the most part well yes but i'm just saying like um it's just nothing interesting yeah i mean maybe we might have a surprise it i mean i remember talking about can and said i'd watch it and i'd watch an old thing and even the east you know i remember saying it was interesting but i never watched it until everyone was like oh my god it's great one interesting you notice we we've gotten one simulcast announced so far i'm hoping we get some at ax because i think crunchyroll has a panel uh they had they i thought they had theirs already there's an early thing from it though no exactly i've heard jack squat either other than it's happened yet also two more days to the con but um there's just none of these shows and summer is an off season two yeah people want to go outside and go do stuff they don't want to sit in front of the tv well the big seasons it's the same as in the u.s two big seasons or the spring and the fall yep so we got get through this one and then we get to the fall which will hopefully have some good stuff yes and then oh god winter is going to be so bad i asked this here why white album oh really yeah that's really no these days i've kind of gotten jaded and no care about much new stuff anymore i've seen it seems like or i don't care about like fan sub stuff anymore i don't watch that stuff anymore i can't keep track of it anymore so i just watch i like watch stuff very very randomly these days like the past week the two shows i've been watching are massing ties or i've been rewatching on dvd now that i finally own it and um fist to the north star on funemations websites since i figured out now is that funimation site works on the ps3 so i can watch it on my tv now that's not dubbed is it it's only so it's up okay oh and you know a piece of news we actually neglected oh yeah duh what's that centi film works has licensed damn i can't even remember it's full title off of um the top of my head it's one of the something diamond or no it's one it's one of the fist to the north star side stories it's i feel bad i can't remember um i'm pulling it up right now okay well that and get the other one about the funimation they actually came on said all right it's um hokuto no can route guide to know how but it's um they changed the name it's going to be called damn what is the u.s name i saw it um what you thought it come on i know i see now i can't find it now though but um legends of the dark kings of fist to the north star story that's what they're going to be calling in the uh it erred fairly recently in the u.s in japan i can't remember when a year or two ago maybe a year ago i think and it's being released by adv films through fint centi film works in september all 13 episodes in one subtitle only set um adv well it's cool oh i mean it's great to see adv actually leasing stuff seeing as i didn't even go to the frickin con this year you know you know i don't need to go to every con oh no i understand well one's the last one they've been at though i thought ax was like the one you want to go to if you're gonna go to any of them but i mean you know whatever teach their own i mean i'm glad to at least hearing they're releasing something because it's been a long time um funimation also mentioned that they're gonna be releasing a anime based off the sega video game oh yeah that one i don't care about exactly that's how much i carry do based on some shitty game and the anime is supposed to be shitty too so by chance did you see on anime news network they had a keynote on the state of anime for this year did you see it out of john klechner now did you i read that i wanted touch on that because i found it really interesting i only skimmed it okay well basically if anyone would know it's him the guy he's the CEO of right stuff oh okay oh shawn yeah that's okay that's shawn well he basically said the big things i took away was the single dvd release format is gone and done with his dad and that people in the u.s at least want to get their stuff in box x because that's the way tv shows are done and people just expect more for their dollar especially now with the recession and whatnot and that he even suggested going even further by including stuff like mongas or figurines or keychains or just little tokens to go along with um the product is to push it that much to make it more of an incentive well yeah to make it feel like it's worth buying and that's what it does for me at least i mean i got the special edition of gimbalo i paid the extra i got on sale but i paid the extra money to get the special edition because it came with the manga that i won oh yeah when i read that when i was like coming with two mongas i'm like oh wow i mean i only wanted one of them but um i only wanted double oaf i'm not interested in my anime adaptation manga but it's still a pretty cool one yeah um and then i mean i found funny too is he bitched up and down about the licensing costs yeah and how the japanese or the thing i took away was like oh yeah the japanese titles what you never mentioned are worth their weight and gold you know the exact wording but he's saying like the japanese some of these licenses they act like they're worth million you know tons of money like they were years ago and they're not progress they're not changing with the times per se yeah um and i was really surprised how much he didn't really put on um the whole of streaming you know the online simulcasting or the you know you know the ones i don't do that no exactly i guess i kind of buried he'd not put in the best light because his business doesn't revolve around you know streaming and whatnot yeah he needs people to buy DVDs yep and i i see where he's going i mean that is a good model all special oh yeah every good except it's a good model when the when the bonuses are good yeah and it's the worst model ever when your bonuses are lucky star t-shirts yeah yeah i mean like because those were massive failures when band i did them so well yeah who the fuck's gonna wear a frickin t-shirt whether with a cheerleader you know from on the front i'll bring one to ode con no exactly you'll wear it to a con because everybody can relate well i'll bring one i don't know if i'll wear it just too embarrassed see if someone dares me too or something or if i get drunk or something someone there that's when i'd wear something like that oh i could not a chance but that's oh he's passed out let's write on him uh yeah and like i i gotta say like i will now go to write stuff religiously a because you were like hey check write stuff out the colors constant sales i used to be hardcore anime nation but i've done cross comparison shopping and this it the the prices are just crazy cheap if the only other one i'd recommend is racks robert's anime corner store he's pretty good too he's when you're shopping and you're not buying stuff from like right stuff sales i would definitely compare those two but i think they're both great i do i regardless i do pretty much all my buying on right stuff yeah i i just this last year to buy everything on one place have everything going from one place so you won't keep track of it better well for me like it seems like right stuff always has something on sale and like well they do well and the other thing though is like i wanted to pick up suzica for the longest time i wanted to pick up gants for the longest time i my patience i'm my point is my patience paid off this last week um for their weekly sale i think it's actually still up there it's bastard yeah it is i picked up all three for fifteen bucks a pop i picked up part one part two of gants fifteen bucks suzica complete fifteen bucks i mean that's i i went to best buy forty four dollars you know well those were clearance though oh but still i mean like i went to anime nation and they were still like thirty six dollars please go to hell yeah you know clearance are not i mean you get really good deals and i love their shipping i mean they're in iowam in minnesota their economy shipping takes about four days if that three days um but yeah um i don't i just found it interesting and i'm you know i don't know if he was just saying like dvd's are the most profit mark you know makeable or whatever or you know they make the most money off of dvd's i kind of find that kind of suspect but like you said it's his business why would he talk down to it or talk some ac about it because i mean like when we do you remember that do you remember the article we read we read about what was it like dvd we read that article about like two like anime stuff was like 277 million or something for 2007 to 2008 but dvd's made like a tiny little dent where in merchandising like posters and crap i sold everything yeah like you remember that don't you so yeah i don't know yeah merchandise sells yeah definitely so i mean i buy a decent amount of um of merchandise so figures oh okay you want to go to those people yeah my figures are all over robots no i know and you put them all together so that's cool yes i buy you know robots t-shirts that's about that yeah i don't like shit on my wall so i don't buy that kind of shit i have a wall scroll and two posters i have some but i don't i have them up anymore oh i have them up because mine's those cute girls from formula panic mine's a bash from try-on see gay so um would you want to pick a dvd release release for the week dvd for the week uh yeah sure if you give me a second to pull them up not a problem let me go play the awesome music that we can play all right go for it if i can get the fucking folder up here is our dvd picks of the week if i can goddamn it switch crap my way okay here we go dvd picks of the week it's another week and more dvd's are being released what should you get it's time for the weekly dvd picks what should you get oh i don't know we'll tell you hey hey what oh okay see we're very prepared right now we have what i'm i already picked so go ahead all right my pick is something i got like two weeks ago but it's apparently just coming out this week um that's cause i know stigma part one which is um it's a story of a guy who he's he's from a family of like people who do like fire magic or something i guess it's the best way to explain it that's awesome but um he sucks ass at it so he kind of like gets thrown at he's like supposed to be the successor and everyone hates him because he sucks so he leaves and then he comes back and then he comes back but now he's all badass and he like fights with wind and um shit happens there's this hot chick who is like who's his like cousin or something who uses fire now and then they're all piss off and stuff i don't know i'm tired i'm not the best at describing things no i hear it it's not a comedy huh is it a comedy it's kind of a comedy but it's mostly an action i would i would recommend it and the only other one i want to point out is more one piece is coming out hooray yay yeah honestly i'm looking over the list and there's not a damn thing i'd want on this list not even apple seed i already have apple seed i want orange seeds um so you know what because i originally made the show an hour and a half because i figured there's a lot more going on we're just going to call this show at an hour because uh fortunately like i said zaldor couldn't make it he should be i'm not that interesting yeah he sucked past past screw you i shouldn't come on anymore i've sealed the fate um possibly monday or tuesday um we'll see i don't know what funimation comes out with uh i may throw in a small filler episode just running down what funimation said and what kind of came in
