Think it's really cool that you know the American fans get treated to the same exact dub actors from the first time around For at least Shinji You know for a main character that You know was dubbed quite a long time ago That Spike Spencer was still willing to do that main character or that even still around doing dub work Sure, I don't really know. I'm not really a What's dubs, but I'm not into the actors and any of that shit I don't really have much to say on that front sounds fair enough. Well, so yeah, that was that Funimation also came out last week with some other news They acquired a new title. Once again, they keep Like bulldozing all the damn competition They came out and said they are getting spice and wolf So yeah, yay, I know anime vice asked a really good question The seven the seventh episode came out as an OVA in Japan Funimation said that they'd be bringing the entire show over and they won you know, they just leave seventh in tech and Not change anything Which I'm happy about because I'm really I'm really really excited To get the show. It's one of its probably it was probably at the top of my licensed wish list, so I'm very happy to see it got picked up about damn time if you ask me. I really like it, so Yeah, definitely you know naked wolf girls and economics Yeah, do you might explain the you might explain in the show Well, basically it's about this guy named Lawrence. He's a Traveling merchant and he meets this she's a wolf god in a human form and she basically Has charters him essentially to take her to where she's from or something like that And it's basically their travels and it shows Warren's doing business and her Interacting and all that kind of stuff It's really really good. It's kind of it's kind of bizarre to explain, but um Give it a chance at least because it's actually really good. Mm-hmm That's about all I can see. Okay. Yeah, I never thought personally I have it my collection, but I haven't watched it yet I actually thought that The picture they used at first. That's kind of cool during the six-week campaign 7/11 stores will offer the red apple flavored slurpee an exclusive brown flocked Cup under development. I want to discuss here this week And we news network had a one week update on the hand in the case Over the obscene manga in Iowa, and if you even heard about this Basically, this has been a two-year ongoing kind of case. It hasn't even it hasn't even gotten a court and won't be going to court Basically what happened this week was He accepted a pretty agreement But basically if you haven't heard about the story, I'll be very shocked if you haven't he ordered some manga online and it had scenes of miners doing apparently I came out there with bestiality with a male pig and a male dog and Basically the FBI or the Everyone was FBI the police intercepted the package on transit to his house open it up inspected it and said hey There's child pornography in here Zipped it all back up let him get mailed to his house and then they executed his search warrant like on the same exact day that he received in the mail and Arrested him under the Protect Act of 2003 citing that he had pictures of miners being sexually abused and This week Well, basically everybody came like a lot of people came to his defense the comic book legal defense Came to his fun came to his defense, you know trying to get him a decent lawyer People Manga artists and writers came to his defense Someone here in Minneapolis that I get a arts college college. It was a a yearly Anime convention actually kind of not really convention, but hey I don't know what you call it an event and we'll see that came to his defense saying hey, you know This isn't exactly right the big the big deal is Don't I want to say it the big deal is it's not real. Yeah, exactly. There you go. It's not real It isn't hurting anybody. It's freaking ink on a piece of paper. There's no proof that He ever looked at anything with real kids There's no proof of anything like that what it is is there just it's protected by the first amendment really what he what he's doing and they kind of just disregarded it and he He accepted the plea agreement and the way I see it is. He probably accepted. He probably could have won But it would have been years upon years in him massive levels of embarrassment and fighting Well, it's already a bear. He's get off. Well Here's my thing like He'd be devoting forever fighting this thing. Yeah, no, I understand But like they they came out to that you know The rest of his manga had no child pornography or none. You know, he wasn't the collector of lollicon he just Collected lots and lots of manga and this is the case they said that he was collecting just to collect it not You know, they didn't find any child pornography on his home computer. They didn't find anything else deemed Offensive He has no prior, you know convictions of being a sex, you know, he's none of that. He's just a normal guy and I honestly think this is ridiculous. What he what he played out for was up to 15 years. Well 10 years of punishment on the first count of possessing obscene material and then Bleeding out for five years for the third count. He did he'd get dropped the remaining three and he'd have to pay up to 100,000 dollars for each, you know, each of those two counts as well as possible present time Um, the Sunday thing hasn't happened yet. So no one really knows what's going on but Like I already think like this guy frickin Are you saying oh being embarrassed of carrying on and what this guy's already embarrassed in America? Yeah, you don't seem to understand how long I mean I'm talking about 10 years probably before he'd Maybe when Well, it would for him to win something like this. It would probably take something like 10 years And it would probably have to get all the way up to like the supreme court before he'd be able to actually win Yeah, but wouldn't you rather do that instead of frickin get your name drug through the mud? I mean in America Yeah, his name would be drug dragged through the mud just for more If he kept fighting it He would look like hell. Yes, it would be a big fight for the First Amendment, but to him it would be hell You know, I don't know. I think it's just me like if that was me and his shoes. I'd fight tooth and nail because You know It's your good name. But the problem with America is Anything related kids you're automatically labeled the worst person on the human, you know face of earth Because oh you're looking at child pornography allegedly and the thing that really gets me off is like you said These aren't real kids. These aren't He hasn't hurt anybody. Nobody was Directly punished or you know injured or emotionally assaulted because he bought some manga for Japan from Japan You know It's a tough thing it is and It's a massive gray area in a lot of ways, but Yeah, I yeah, I don't know. I understand and the thing pisses me off though is like You know, I want to know where like we're why aren't more people coming to the aid of the sky And it's really because like the politicians if they try to support someone who was quote-unquote looking at child pornography even if You know in this not that's like political suicide And I guess people don't want to put their reputation on the line to help this guy for say, you know Yeah, basically because America's so fucked up in their reviews And I'll say it this country has a really big fucked up morality view on anything related to kids They can't have fun anymore. You can't let them out inside and go play. No, they gotta be protected and every fucking you know law under the Sun Are you yeah a little bit, okay? You're just kind of going on a tire right now. I'll tire it all I want um So You know unfortunately, you know, I was actually last weekend Funimation and by a phantom sign-up animation fan of Maine what not took took place Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any Cont reports Is there anything else in the way of news you want to discuss? Someone wanted to bring up that I thought was cool that came out today was The Hulu desktop app Which is cool? It's just it's just a it's Hulu. It's a Hulu program for your computer and it's got a really slick interface It's for there is a Windows and a Mac version of it and there's plenty anime on there If you watch Hulu, I'd say check it out. It's really nice. Um, have you used the juiced plant? Do they still have a desktop? I don't think they do I'm gonna think move to all web-based Okay, you know, they did I was kind of curious if like if you could give a comparison between the two I can say I hate the juiced website, but I can't go on with you there. It's the but it works incredible Let's see The Hulu desktop app works great. Awesome. Is it a faster video? Like what's the you know watching it via the app? They were gonna show what E3 this year Or that they had announced one of them ended up being Tatsunoko versus Capcom's us release No, they have one more and then they gave a couple of hints. They said It's from an established franchise. It's an action game. It's not devil may cry five and It's being developed by Capcom Japan And what that what that says to me is a new oni musha game and I was a huge fan of the oni musha series on the ps2 I Loved them all and I'm I really want another one in there hasn't been one on the next gen consoles Yeah, they're the current ones. I guess so I really hope that's what it is That series always blew me away. Yeah, that would be pretty slick. I it's definitely up higher up there for me then um Devil may cry although. I wouldn't mind another devil may cry. Mm-hmm. I Would love to see Just fuck I just remember it just had my head was gonna say it and then I forgot all of a sudden um oh I um I said my god Shin Megami title on an actual next gen system Like you know like persona 5 or on the ps3 or something like that because You know like I noticed like there's a lot of lack of rpgs decent rpgs There's some good ones But like nothing new other than the final fantasy 13 which by the way looks frickin amazing Or 14 I keep it like yeah, it's 13. That's fine. Okay I don't know if you've seen great teacher on the Zuka Yeah, yeah, of course wait, okay. Well, that's sure. I'm gonna be reviewing here GTO is a a Blue 78 episodes. I Don't remember. Yeah, it's pretty long Basically GTO is a shonen anime The circuit page I need revolves around a 22 year old guy named Enichi, Onizuka Yikichi, that's how you say it. Yikichi and He was really sure really starts up with him walking around the mall. He passes his time by looking up girl skirts well, he bumps into a girl ends up at a love hotel and Her ex boyfriend find tracks are down and like asked her to come back to him and she's like oh my god Yeah, so do it and jumps out of the second story window of this love hotel and do his arms and He finds out that she was a teacher and he goes. Oh, wow. They have a lot of they have a lot of power. I should go become a teacher so he almost he he sets up to go be a teacher, but he figured to take the public teacher like assessment test basically would the Certification test to become a public teacher. Well, he forgot to do that So he ends up becoming a private school teacher for the Holy Academy Holy crust Academy was gaining or holy forest. Sorry the Holy Forest Academy and The show what really makes it so interesting though is Well, Onizuka is just really crazy and does all kinds of crazy stuff He's an ex gangster and he's got like a rep Everybody, you know, who's anybody knows them in the gangster world So he has a lot of you can do a lot of stuff and normal people can normally that do but he really cares more about teaching his students life lessons rather than math or English He's a history teacher. Yeah, but I'm saying he'd rather go out and teach you something worthwhile than history History is worth while I know that I'm just saying You're just saying history is not worth while I watch the history channel and shit all the time, man History is worthwhile at a time Watching this channel right now. We get a battle of Gettysburg Shouldn't be watching TV right now I'm watching it in my mind to be quiet the rerun So onizuka becomes this private school teacher He gets assigned to a class that all the teachers mysteriously one went insane one killed themselves another joined a cult So they can't figure out why all these teachers in this one class keep leaving. So he's just kind of put there to quote-unquote team the class Well, what it turns out to really be is Usually every episode or every couple episodes one character has a problem or Something around one or two characters and they stretch out a few episodes that's what really makes the show is Each character has a really really good story arc and like the first character Is being he's got geek he's being teased my girls and you want to commit suicide. Well, Onizuka stops him from doing that and Basically he goes down like every Every person in his class he helped some work out their life problem or Whatnot, I mean there they range a gamut from bullies to One student has like a fucked up family life where their parents always fighting shit So he comes running in there with the sledgehammer and destroyed soil. That's the best day I'm seeing right? I guess yeah, you're right. It's most epic thing in the entire jail. It's like a walk around just throw it No, I love that scene that was the scene that sold me on the show because that's like episode three This wall and he goes love Let's pass the wall. Yes. I Watched this show in one weekend sitting. I did nothing the entire weekend except watch GTO It's one of those shows that it's fun to watch that Yeah, it is you can't just watch one or two episodes because you get sucked in It is it's yeah, it's a it's a real addictive show and and It makes you want to pick up smoking cuz it in this anime smoking looks cool cuz only Zoki does it all the time And all the middle school kids do too for some reason But Smokes all the time the kids shouldn't be but Japan they do anything there they drink and smoke and play Pachinko Okay, hey American TV is taught me well of all the stereotypes clearly yes No, like I said though, what makes the show is just the characters and only through cuz wild antics I mean like there's one scene he dresses up as a monkey As he's like being accosted by the faculty on being kicked out of the school For his behavior and he does all kinds of crazy stuff, but on the other range He does stuff that a normal person couldn't do he jumped from really high Really high pledges and isn't hurt or You know stuff gets thrown and I'm like a white bench and he doesn't get hurt and he can drive us more It's like a really really well It's because he's on his hookah exactly now. That's a great teacher. Yes. My favorite scene was in the very beginning when he beats up the When he beats up those teenagers with the flashlights on his hand. He's like I'm only Zuka bitch Yes, it's a very very good show. I would definitely definitely check it out. They just got re-released and Two box sets the part one part two and it's like 78 episodes. It's long But it's really good Highly recommended though Yes The manga is really well done as well. Actually the there was I even a live-action 12 episode of The show and it was the highest rated scene show for anything in Japan Yes And that's proof in the pudding right there. Oh Yeah, it's the yeah, the live actions actually pretty cool, too. It's all really good. So if you Haven't watched it yet shame on you. Yeah for sure. Go watch it And it's really good. Yeah, and if you're wondering like we're not really frickin explaining the show It's really hard to explain because it's like it's pretty simple. It is pretty simple time.
