And now, broadcasting live from an abandoned love hotel. Your hosts, Pat, send Jellicoon. This is Bonsai Beat, episode 28. I'm here with Pat, as always. I am Jellicoon. Hey. Today we have a quick and dirty episode. We're going to have a quick manga review, and quick news, and call it a day. Let's go ahead and go into the news you want to talk about. Well, you can start with whatever you like. OK. OK. This week in Anime News, brought to you by Anime News Network. Basically, a few small things I want to touch on today was Viz and their whole basically shutting down all the third party taking away the access to their embedded videos. And what you thought about that. So we'll start with that. It came out that a couple of days ago, Viz went to Hulu and juiced and said, yeah, we're going to pull down our videos. And Viz got called out on it. They said, well, due to the economic climate, we cannot have these videos. But I don't know what you're talking about. That's what they said. Where? On Anime News Network. I'm trying to see anything about economics on the news post. They said. Show it to me in the text. Hey, I don't even have the damn page of it right now. Well, all they asked for is that the embed be disabled. Yeah, that's insane. Yeah, on Hulu and Juiced and Anime News Network got taken down. Yeah, well, Anime News Network was showing embedded versions of the stuff from Juiced on their site. For some reason, I didn't really get why the hell they did that in the first place. So they just-- in that same day, Viz is like, no? It sounds like-- because odds are A&M was trying to get-- I'll bet you this is true. See, this is just conjecture. But odds are, Viz was trying to get-- or A&M was trying to get Viz to let them post stuff on their site because they have their own little video portal. Yeah, they had no trailers. And when Viz said no, they started doing that embed thing, and it probably pissed Viz off. Well, I wonder what it has to do with who's juice and who's-- Well, they were showing-- they were doing embedded juiced videos on A&M. Yeah, well, yeah, and Viz does that same thing for their website. Yeah, well, that's Viz's website. Viz can do what it wants. No, I understand that. The fact is that I'm saying-- what I'm saying, and everything I'm saying is just me running my mouth. But what I'm saying is that they just decided to go around Viz and just embed juice videos on their site. Gotcha. So maybe I think it too much into it. Yeah, it was-- it's probably-- I don't know how true what I'm saying. Obviously, this is all just coming from me. It could be all wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was true, either. Yeah. Funimation had a couple of license announcements. They licensed Bamboo Blade and a couple other tower drug. Yeah, they licensed Bamboo Blade and a bunch of other stuff I don't care about. Dragging out. They got Bamboo Blade, Dragging on, Tower of Duraga. And then they got Setonohana Yomay and El-Kessador, Dev. Brujoe. Yeah, I couldn't pronounce that for the life of me. And that last one sounds like a no-wire repuff. Oh, it's from the same people. Well, there you go. It's from the same people that did no-ar. They've got that. They've got all those shows. Only when I want Bamboo Blade and I'd probably think about Setonohana Yomay, but the rest of them I don't really care about. The only thing that's interesting is that it does prove that even though the shows were-- Duraga was one of the shows that was shown on Crunchyroll as it aired. So that proves that those are still fair game. And Funimation grabbed one, so that's nice to see. Yeah, definitely. I guess, even though I don't really want the show. Oh, they also got him, "Blacerator." So I don't care about either. Oh, OK. Yeah, exactly. I can't think of the name of the show, but I know for the first time, there's simulcasting it in the US online. Online? That was online. Not the one that we talked about a couple months ago. Are you talking about the harder he won? No, it wasn't hard. You have some crap shown I didn't heard of. I never mind. Because they're releasing Churia, Chan, and how do he, Chan, and Churia, is on two gag shorts based on how do he sues a Mia? So what did you think of that first episode? I've kept watching him. The how do he won? I really like the Churia ones. Not so much. Yeah, I haven't seen the Churia ones, but-- I think the Hara-- the Hara ones are hilarious. They've gotten hilarious, because they've gotten really silly, and I like the silly. There you go. I mean, I've enjoyed it, you know, on a stay. Mm. I mean, the Churia ones, though, they kind of-- they're not laugh-out-loud funny. They're kind of like a "huh." You know what I mean? They take your attention away from something, but it's a question. Take away what? I don't really get this. I mean, there's everyone next to Churia. She's all cute and small. So you were right about the whole Best Buy thing. That was? You were correct. Oh, right, yeah. They came out that, yeah, Best Buy is indeed shelving a lot of their anime, and they're going to be focusing on the top 20 sellers. And now here's my question. You can look at video games and be like, hey, this one is the number one seller. I've never heard of anime on a month-to-month basis that you can go for the US market. Best Buy can get those numbers. Yeah, that's true. Best Buy can get that information. But yeah, but then that list came out on A&N, and then apparently that wasn't a final list. Yeah, and then he lifted, like, 506-hour stores. There was one near me, and I was like, ooh, yeah, I'm going to go there. There was five near me, and I was like, oh, crap. And one of them, so tons of anime others were kind of small. I want to see the final listing, and then the sale supposed to start from what I heard, March 1st. March 1st, and you all, here's what I'm wondering. It has all. So next-- yeah, so now they've printed. I guarantee you, if we go to Best Buy.com, I'm right now. I almost wonder if they're advertising it, or if they're just keeping it quiet. Oh, it's going to be kept quiet. OK. There we go. That's the only redeeming quality I can think of. Like, we can go there and get 50% off. All the DVDs that they want to give us. And they're actually going to be decent titles compared to some niche show that no one give this shit about. Yeah, all right. So I'm at least going to go on March 1st and go take a look. Yeah, hopefully that list comes back out. And if a store near me is still on the list, on the final list, I am going to go there and see if there's anything I really want. Yeah, because there's been a couple of shows I've been wanting to get, and I just haven't done it because of money. But I look at it like, you know, not many opportunities like this come along. But we'll see. Yeah, right. Exactly. I know. But still it kind of sucks that they're doing that. No, indeed, but I can hear you in my side weird. Like, for example, sorry, I'm trying to think. Bandai came out saying, hey, we're putting Lucky Star Volume 6 and a bunch of these other shows on the definite hiatus. Well, the reason was because too much stock because no one is buying this shit. Well, Bandai, they didn't put Lucky Star Volume 6 on indefinite hiatus. They put the limited edition. They canceled the limited edition. Yeah. But that made sense because apparently one's selling too hot. Yeah, well, apparently those t-shirts weren't in that high of demand. Well, I don't know. I want to be wrapping around and walking around town wearing a fucking, you know, uniform. I don't mean one person will understand in a crowded room. And everyone else will think it's creepy. Yeah, yeah. There's big, what the fuck? So I mean, you've been purchasing all the LE boxes, haven't you? So are you kind of mad that they're getting rid of it? I'm mad because I won't have the six volumes cover won't be consistent with the rest of them. That's another one thing I read on mine too was like people were just like, OK, I don't give a fuck if I don't get a t-shirt. At least just make the reversible cover of the same thing. That's what I want. If I get a reversible cover, I wouldn't care left. Care at all. Because that's the thing I care about in the most is getting those covers all consistent at the end. Having the last one wrong would suck. Yeah, well, I mean, I don't know. $65, how much are you paying? $60, $65 for-- Hell no. $30 something. Oh, wow. Buy that shit on sale, man. Yeah. Buy that shit full price. Fuck. Gotcha. $65, you're crazy. Like retail that much. That's a lot of money. He did. What else? Shit. No, man, I'm-- Yeah, no, there hasn't been a ton of news worthwhile. Oh, yeah. Greg Ayres had a heart attack. Yeah, that sucks for him. Luckily, he was mild and nothing serious. He was at a con, apparently. Yeah. You laughing. Bad, you're a bad person. Just, I don't know. He didn't seem like he was at greatest shape, but I mean, it's just heart attack. I don't know. It's like that sucks. Yeah. Well, I have a con coming up in April for an anime detour. I'm thinking about going to Greg Ayres is there every year. And I'm thinking about going there and getting to the men just meeting him. He's a nice guy. He talks to anybody that walks up to him. I'm a voice over artist. Yeah. I need attention. Yeah, he's been in his shitload of enemies, so-- He has a lot of fans and a lot of anti-fans, so. Yeah. Well, the thing it pisses me off about him is like, you can hear his voice and go, that's him. I've heard him in 16 other enemies, identically sounding. Oron, or like fucking cannon. He's a high-wailing-pitched kid, who's always over-exaggerate hyperness. He uses the same exact frickin' sound and burst angel. The only most dramatic one I've ever seen him change for was Beck. He wasn't playing the spazzy kid who freaks out all the time. Yeah. But-- I don't know. I mean, sex or am I-- I mean, I don't have any problem with it myself. No, I respect him. I mean, I love to meet him. He's one of my favorite voice over artists, because I've seen so much of his work. And I look at it back, like, you don't fucking hear people singin'. I mean, like, the closest thing I came to seeing-- I mean, I only watched 58 different enemies complete-- was like, I'll give you an example of peach girl, er, not peach girl, a paradise kiss. There was a part of the show where one of the characters started singing. They cut to the voice-- they cut to the frickin' Japanese. Like, the American voiceover person didn't want a bother. Or it was like, I look at, like, Greg Ayres, and I show, like, back that it revolves around music, that he did such a fucking awesome job. And sang every frickin', you know, they did all the dub work for the songs, which is awesome. And they sound great. Yeah. You know, who knows how much of that, you know, let's hope we're the computer or whatever else. But, you know, now, as whole stands on piracy and whatnot, you know, that's another topic. But, you know, I have respect for him and hope he gets, you know, one of those things that you learn from, you know, at an art attack? OK, eat better. Maybe go jog a couple days a week. Damn right. You know, I was reading the Twitter feed. And that's how you got some new projects going on. Awesome, congratulations. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah, I'm joined another blog called thegamingdungeon.com. And it's got a couple of podcasts we're working on. And it's called Attack Magic Item Flay, which is a gaming podcast, which is biweekly. And there is an anime one, two, called what is it called? G-dap. Very bi-- bishoujo. What? I'm not even-- Very bi-shoujo. Yes. I don't follow you. G-dap. No. What did you guys figure out of G-dap? Gaming DungeonAnime Podcast. Well, I guess that works. It's simple. It was my idea. Yeah, I like the first one, the happy, fun time, extreme, noodle-loving rum and eating. Yeah, no one was keen on that. Yeah, I noticed. So we went with Gina at which. But yeah, so you can check me out on there. Now, the podcasts are linked on there. Those are both biweekly shows. They switch weeks. It's the plan. So one week will be one, and then the next week will be the other, and then it'll be slipping. Yes. You know what I mean? Yup. Speaking of that, I did post this on the website, but hopefully we'll be doing about two podcasts a month, give or take, until things start to pick up. And there are actually a lot of items to talk about compared to just winging off an anime review and going over boring news, because right now it's really slow for old cons and whatnot. Yeah. And we're also looking into doing something else we're thinking about. Yeah, we got some other outside projects that aren't anime related, but we'll keep in the loop. Yeah, that's going to be a little more fun, hopefully. Just a little goofier is what I'm trying to go for, and hopefully it'll work out well. Indeed. Basically, if it's everyday life, we'll talk about it. Something along those lines. Yes. So I want to go figure out how the fuck Icy Storm got a reviewer copy of some DVDs on anime. No, they didn't get any anime. I thought it was like Blue Dragon or something. Yeah, it was the Blue Dragon DS game. Oh, why the fuck still? I don't know. I think he works for some gamer recently, or no. Or his dad. It's not that hard. Oh, really? Oh, yeah. We're going to go start Pat's and Jellacoon's ultra gaming mega website. And just go photo. Well, but yeah, I'm assuming. I never bothered to ask him, but I'm guessing that's what it was. Yeah, I didn't ask either. Some gaming site. Oh, yeah. Of course, I want the DS version of Blue Dragon. Man, yay. Oh, yes. If anyone cares, you can watch Blue Dragon for free on iPod and iTunes for the first episode. Someone might care. I don't know. It's free. Free is free. Yeah, everybody already aired on Cartoon Network, I thought. I don't know, whatever. And Tsunami, the Jetstream no longer exists. Yeah, they killed that a little while ago. Yeah, so the completion of anime for the most part on anything Cartoon Network is basically dead. Gone, yeah. I love their statement, too. If you enjoy these videos, go to the physical.com and find out what's going on, because we're not hosting them. It was basically what they basically said to everyone. You like Naruto? You're not watching it here. Yeah, right. Oh, man. Oh, shit, man. Have you been watching much lately? Yeah, I finished Canon. And that show, I wanted to go, like, slip my wrists. And just like, you know what? That sucked ass. I watched anime to have a good time, not cry. And that's why I haven't watched Canon. And I was like, I'll be honest, I cried a couple times. Because you really like the beginning, like you really like a character. And then something happens. And you're like, oh, that sucked ass. Now what? That, that's where to go. I don't know if it's just a genre. But adults are way too agreeable. What the fuck? If I had a house in my cousin or whoever I'm watching brought over these strange girls, like, can they stay with us? Oh, sure. Go to that extra guest bedroom we always have. Well, you know, Japanese people always have spare bedrooms. Oh, yeah, definitely. You don't ever have small houses. What the fuck? Japan, I'd heard they have a freaking problem. It's too much land. Exactly. Too many houses. Too many houses. I know they're housing. I might go buy a couple myself for my vacation houses. Yeah, you need a couple? Yeah, I need a couple. Fuck, I got to switch my legs. You know, a couple of mansions? Shit. Maybe some lakefront property. Go live behind fucking one of the mountains or something. And I'm a little wisdom hot springs. Oh, yeah. Ah, man. Have you ever by chance ever looked into the Japan destinations.com or-- No. --just a-- oh, man. I thought about doing that for, for, like, $1,700. It's a little pricey. It was between $900 and $1,700, depending which one to do. But they've got stuff for, like, the Tokyo anime show. You go there for seven days. You go, like, tour Studio Ghibli and stuff like that. And you stay in a decent hotel. It plays for your flight. It pays for your-- basically, everything's covered. All you're going to bring money for is their spending. All right. Huh. It's kind of neat. And they have tour packages. I'm not trying to broader nothing. I'm just, you know-- I've never looked into that now. Yeah, I thought about maybe one of these-- one of these times, a little game to it. Yeah. Do you have a job? Yeah, exactly. Fucking economy. I'm going to move to Canada and go play with the maid cafes. All right. Go ahead. Go start applying for jobs in Canada. Yeah, I already have. Yeah, it's not that far. I know. Yeah, don't kidding. Fucking jaunt up the road. Hey, what up, Canadians? Of course, the last time we were there, my wife stole a tip that was left on a table of like one Canadian coin at a hardy's. No, no, no, no. She's like, oh my god, Canadian money. Yoink. My god, Canadian money, it's worth less than ours. Exactly. There's one that's still less than ours. Yes. But no, I thought about for a little mini Japan vacation. I want to probably hit up San Francisco and check out Japan Town. I mean, it's not like Japan, but you know, you get a pretty-- you know, pretty close. I don't know what you call it. Then you've got to go to California and stuff. That's true. Yeah, and they-- fuck, they're so broke, they might charge. We just didn't come in. Yeah, exactly. So they should start doing there. I was just charging people to enter in California. Mm, you travel, $42.50, believe it. Oh, shit, they're sales tax, like spiked, didn't it? Yeah, that, and have you worked for the state? Yeah. I don't think they're working like, what, five hour, five, four, four day weeks? Oh, wow. And like, they're taking like shifts, and like, nobody's working full time. It's crazy. You need to be crazies. California's fascinating. Indeed. I don't know how I could fuck up an entire fricking state. No, they did. It's because they have too many laws, too many regulations for too much shit. Oh, yeah, look at their fucking environmental. Yeah. You cannot smoke. You cannot have a car that smokes. Basically. Smoke on top of smoke. No combustion engines. You can't have a dog that poops. A dog must incinerate its own poop upon pooping. I don't know. Let's get on. Anyway, I see how he deals with it. What was it that you'd read anyway? You didn't tell me. Wow. I picked up the manga barbaric girlfriend in America. It's called My Your Secret Triple X. That sounds really familiar. I think I might have read it. I swear to God, like, I thought it was a translation. The translation here on the cover. I was like, who the fuck just goes? My Your. Like, I was like mine and yours or ours. But I'll get into that here. And so far, four volumes have been released through being released by Tokyo Pop. Basically, it's a comedy romance. It revolves around two main characters, Akira, Lee and Hart-- they actually changed the last name in the American version. And Nanako-- I still can't see her fucking last name. It's M-O-M-O-I. Momoy? Momoy? OK. Oh, wait, their eyes are E's, aren't they, in Japan? I don't know. Something like that. But-- Well, yeah, Momoy, I would have used that. So Akira is this quiet, timid guy who just kind of keeps himself and is kind of a pansy. On the other hand, Nanako is a loudmouth. She's a tomboy. And lots of people know how she feels. All right, I think this is the one I've read before. Oh, OK. So one day, she's not in school. Well, the teacher assigned someone to go who basically asks who can go drop. Nanako's homework off at all, at her house. And Akira has a crush on her, so you know what? This would be a good opportunity. I'm going to go do that. Well, he goes over there, knocks on the door. Nobody answers. You know, in Japan, no one ever locks their fucking door, apparently. He just walks right in. You never heard of just-- I'll come back later. Or maybe I should call. So he walks in and finds that her grandfather is doing experiments on their only granddaughter. His solution to life is to shrink the population because trash and the food population-- or the food scarcity problem would go away if we're smaller, apparently. We'll waste less and eat less, so yeah. Well, unfortunately, it didn't work. They ended up switching bodies. And then Nanako gets out pissed and breaks the machine. So they turn out that Nanako is now in Akira's body and Akira is now in Nanako's body. And the grandpa was just like, well, I love to help you. But the machine's kind of broken, and I'm going Hawaii. So I'll talk to you later. So the first volume really deals with them adjusting to their, quote unquote, new lives. And it's really funny, because they start to get comfortable. They both start to get kind of comfortable. Nanako loves being a guy. And everyone thinks that Akira's a badass now, because he's a good-looking guy. But now he's talking and being all swab and doing stuff. So now he's got girls all after him. And that's about all I can really get into without starting to spoil stuff. But it's really intriguing. It's really funny. And it's fast-paced. I mean, I blew through the frickin' manga in a day, like a couple hours. I was done with it, maybe an hour and a half. And the artwork is really well. The text is done really well. The only problem I got to say is-- I don't know if this is indicative of all mongas. But if they're saying something to themselves in their head, like, oh, I hate that guy. They have this weird-ass little fuckin' font that they use. It looks like it was written in pen, written by hand in pen, that is stuck between what's going on in the scene. Like, what say there's two people standing right next to each other? They'll stick the fuckin' sentence in the middle between them. In really small text. And it's a pain in the ass, because there's a lot of that. We're like, they'll think to themselves about something. And it's just like, oh, god damn it. But I'm definitely going to be buying two in three and four, because it's a really, really fun book. And I got to say, it's the first manga I've actually, like, been enjoying. I mean, I looked at getting "Sun Dome" volume three. But to be honest, like "Sun Dome" I found was just two over the top with its-- All right, I hear you. Sexual innuendo, and nothing was happening. It was, like, made just for gratuitous panty shots. And we can watch 20-- we can watch-- not 20, not 20, which is by, like, Comic Con or-- what's that soda can, girl? Anime. Okeycon. Watch that. Okeycon, yes. When I drink Mountain Dew, I hope a girl appears. Sadly, this doesn't happen. I've bought, like, 45, 12 packs. But yeah, I want to definitely check it out if you're into romance comedies. And it's not so straightforward that you kind of think, oh, here's what's going to happen. I find myself actually being very surprised that the events that start to unfold. So have you read that or-- Yeah, I have. I've read the first volume, I think. So what do you think if you remember-- I barely remember it was a while ago. It's a very vague remembrance of it. Gotcha. But I know-- My only-- I started buying more anime-- I mean, I think you say anime. I started buying more manga. But I'm just so fucking nervous that it's just going to abruptly end, or they're going to be like, hey, we're out of business. I'm pretty impressed, broke. So we're going to stop printing all that. Because I enjoy, like, that portability. And I enjoy that, holding the book. I don't want to go online and read these cancellations. Yeah. That's why I'm buying everything. You know, like, and this is $10. I mean, this book was $13. No, sorry, Susica was $13. $10 was $9.99. All right. Can't go wrong, you know, prepared to spending $30 to $40 on an anime. I know, right? I hear you. Indeed. So, uh, for the DVD picks here real quick. It's another week, and more DVDs are being released. What should you get? It's time for the weekly DVD picks. [MUSIC PLAYING] Check out what's going on for the week. Oh, Akira on Blu-ray, if I remember correctly. Well, there you go. You are correct, sir. That I have. Oh, you have it already. Yes, it came in today from-- I pre-ordered this one on Amazon to make sure I got it, because there's a special-- the first press edition comes with a slip cover and a booklet with like a bunch of stuff in it, like pictures and talk, like interviews and crap. And then it comes with a slip case for the Blu-ray and all that. And that's only with the first edition of it. And the rest of them are just going to be the normal case. Oh, well, guys, the first pressing basis. Yeah, the first pressing comes with that stuff. And after that, and if you don't find it now, the next pressing is not going to be available till mid till 8 March, because it's pressed in Japan. Because this is one of those-- that's pressed in Japan. It's one of those Hanamisei Bandai entertainment releases where it's pressed in Japan and then sent over here. I haven't watched it yet. I just got it this afternoon. I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I'm going to watch it in a day or two. So how much did you drop on that? I paid $30 for it. OK, yeah, the reason I'm asking is like I've really noticed the anime offerings have dropped on Blu-ray. I mean, I look at like the Freedom OVAs, where 30 bucks a pop for one frickin' episode. Well, those were the-- those were really-- those were HD DVD first. Oh, sorry. Yeah, I mean, it was some ungodly ones. Like, the first couple of Blu-rays of anime were just ungodly expensive. Yeah, well, now everything's got-- Funimation, I've actually picked-- right now, I've actually, in the past couple of weeks, I've ended up picking up a lot of Blu-ray stuff. I got that, and then a week or so ago, maybe two weeks ago, I got Samurai 7 on Blu-ray, which I'm halfway through, and looks incredible, and I'm loving the show. It's my first time watching. I got Samurai 7. Should I-- I don't mean to get a topic here, but I've got-- I own the show on DVD 8. I just never sat down and watched it. Was it more action-y? Is it more comedy, or what did it-- It's-- it's-- it's-- well, it's like a-- it's kind of hard to describe, though. OK, do you like it more of a-- Samurai, Shampoo, Hammer of Samurai? No, it's a little more-- it's more serious than that. It's-- it's also-- it's a remake of the 7 Samurai, which is a old movie. But, um, I got that, and that looks great. That was one of Gonzo's first HD shows, too. And then I've got that, and then I also have, at the same time, I got One Piece Movie 8 on Blu-ray. No, is that the only one I've done Blu-ray, though? It's the only One Piece Movie that's out in the US, so far. Period. Oh, OK. Yeah, so, yeah, it is the only one on Blu-ray. It was just happened to be the first one, because it's a retelling of a story arc that was about at the same point. And it's a fairly recent movie, even in Japan. Gotcha. I don't know how reason, maybe a year or two old. But I watched that. That looked good. I didn't love the movie, though. Because it's a retelling of the Alabasta arc, which is like, at this point for me, I'm not terribly far into the show. I'm about 200 episodes in right now, or 180 episodes in right now. Oh, god. I'm going to stop at the end of this story arc and take a break. I'm at the-- for anyone that needs to know, I'm at the end of the Sky Island story arc. But, um, I like the movie. It's good, but it's not that great, because it leaves so much of the story arc out. And that it hurts it for me. It was OK, but all the fights are too short and all that. But then again, it's also a movie that's retelling a real effing long story arc. Gotcha. So that has a lot to do with that. And the only-- and I have one more thing on Blu-Ray, and that's the Gunbuster versus Diebuster. You got Time movie. The set, I picked that up a couple weeks ago as well, and how I ended up buying all this, like, right at once. And I haven't watched those yet. Those haven't been watched quite yet. But I'm looking forward to them, because that's got one of the nicest art boxes I have probably ever bought. Just because it's so sturdy, I really like it. You could put it under your car and run it over. But yeah, I would still not work. The amount of Blu-Ray is definitely picking up for me. And then I have Shigarooie on pre-order. That comes out in March. And that I'm really looking forward to getting a hold of. The only thing that sucks is I had something else on pre-order that comes out the same day. They're both from Funimation. That thing, the other thing that's on pre-order that comes out on the same day in March 10-- Kenichi Part 1 is what that is. That ship today. Shigarooie. Oh, wow. I was like, man. Holy crap, that is early. It's not that early, really. You usually get a weak difference, sometimes, too. I've seen it as much as far as a month. But I would have liked to see-- it's really only like two weeks. You don't remember. Yeah. February is almost over. Oh, yeah, I think. So tell me. Yeah, you spring. Yeah, I know. So I've got that coming in March. And man, it's like, Blu-Ray is picking up for me. The more and more that comes out, the more and more I'm going to get it. There's not much off the top of my head that's coming out anytime real soon, besides that. Yeah. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything I mean. But hopefully-- Yeah, for me. For me, I would want to get the love, Hina. Complete collection. I think it's like $79. Is it really that much? I can't be that much. I'm freaking that much. But I mean, everything. No, it's not. The movie is not? No, it's just a TV series last I checked. Oh, kick ass. Well, then, good, because I have the fucking movies, but I don't have the TV series. That stopped me from buying it. I need to see that they have another set coming with the rest of the stuff on it before I buy this one. Yeah, it's only 50. It's 49. Oh, OK. I'm sorry. Yeah, it just has the TV series, 1 through 25. It doesn't have the movies or Love Hina again. And in all honesty, I don't want it that badly. Excuse me, there was three movies, correct? There were two movies. The third one I have, then. Probably Love Hina again. Oh, OK. Because, yeah, my brother got me the box set for, like, fucking $5 at work. So I've had it sitting around for the longest time, but I haven't wanted to watch it just because I didn't want to start-- I have started the show itself at one point. And it seemed-- See, it seemed all right. I'm not that keen to buy in the anime any time soon. What I need to do is, friggin' buy the damn manga. I'm kind of mad that I don't have that yet, because the manga is friggin-- Sorry about that. The manga is one of my favorites ever. It's very high up there for me. So I really need to buy it. And I'm kind of angry that I don't have it yet. But I do want to get the anime as well. And I will. It's just a matter of time. Yeah. So one of those things, Funimation, has had that sitting on their shelf waiting to come out forever. I remember that one was-- Well, that was long. That was like four or five years ago came out originally. Yeah, well, it was originally Bandai. And then Funimation licensed rescued it. So they call it. Gotcha. And, yeah, they-- What did they think of? Yeah. No, that was all I was going to say. They licensed rescued it. And it had sat there for quite a while. Gotcha. Yeah, I'm looking forward to the looking. And then I'm also looking for the clannad part one that's coming out next week. I'm just kind of bummed that they aren't doing the double. That friggin' shipped a couple weeks ago to most people. Oh, wow. It shipped away early. Hey, got some really good, complete series coming out. Pony Pony Dash. That was like Lucky Star before the was Lucky Star. You know what I want to point out that's coming out this week? I just realized that was apparently the re-release version of two re-release box sets for Gotten Them are coming out. There's a OASMS team set. And then there's-- the F-91 movie is being re-released. If you haven't gotten F-91 yet, pick it up. I'm sure most people probably have a OASMS team. But F-91, I wouldn't be surprised if some people haven't picked up yet. And I really liked that movie, even though it was kind of rushed in its story. But oh, and then Code Gas, the last part is coming out, which I need to pick up myself, which I have a coupon to Best Buy for, and I'm probably going to use that to get this. Oh, there you go. Because I got a $10 coupon with my rewards points. And then the site gave me a friggin' error. And let me print it so I call customer service. And the guy doubled my points. So I got a $20, $20 one instead of a 10 because of it. I'm like, all right. Thank you, sir. Yeah, no kidding. Yeah. Oh, that-- oh god, another key take is being released. There's a bit of a fucking fourth time. Oh, this new release is like-- Fuck, are they going to show the extreme sex scene that they originally took out and then put back in and then took out, and they're going to put it back in again? I don't know. I think this one is actually cut, the one that's coming out in the set, because this set comes with ketay and then ketay. And then ketay liberated. Yeah. I picked up ketay for six bucks, that frickin' half-price books. By the way, if you don't want to look at pawn jobs, check out half-price books. I'm not going to say a huge anime selection, but where I go to, the two or three that I visit, always have a decent selection. The funny thing is, I always see repeats like no-wire. Did everyone buy no-wire? And then hate the anime? Hmm, I don't know. I can fucking-- I found a box at like Ford's separate-- You know what store I'm in love with? Movie stop. It's essentially GameStop with movies. They're run by the same company. They're owned by the same company. But they're not very well-spered out there. They don't even have a real website. So is it rentals? No, it's buying. So it's DVDs, and then use DVDs. And they had-- and the ones near me-- when I say near me, I mean like a half-hour drive. To your backyard. Oh, that sucks. I mean like a 20, 25-minute drive to get to the place. But that's where I got Gunbuster versus Diebuster. And I got something else there. I don't even remember what. But oh, I got G-gun them there as well, which is out of print right now, so I was really happy to get that. Oh, excuse me. And I fell in love with this place. There's not enough of them. If there was one close in me, I'd probably be shopping there all the time. Yeah, I haven't even heard of it. I mean, I know GameStop does DVDs. Yeah, but not really anymore. None of the ones near me have any anymore. But this is like-- it's a big store. It's big-- like a big GameStop full of DVDs and Blu-rays and a big wall of anime. And it's like-- and it got tons of used DVDs. So any good-- do they have a lot of used more than used more than newer? Maybe 50/50. Oh, that's cool. Because yeah, I love-- if it's in good condition, fuck, I'll buy it over a new day any day of the week. But I was-- I was like, oh, man, this is a nice store. And I got to go back there. Maybe I'll go there again later this week. But it was like-- it was a nice place. I was like-- I was very happy when I was there. Yeah. Yeah, you have to report back anything good. I think I got you. I think I got you. I got you. And I got another shit there. Well, I'm pretty sure you read about this. There's another Gundam coming out. Yeah. Oh, yeah, I'm-- they haven't given a title for it yet. I don't think yet. But it's another-- it's a new Universal Century series. It's the thing that's going to be celebrating-- I can't believe I forgot to mention this. It's going to be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Gundam. And it's a Universal Century series. And the main character-- I don't have the information in front of me, but it's like the main character's piloting the 7th RX-78 unit. And it takes place in Universal Century 0081, apparently. Which would be a year after the one-year war. And I go, OK, that's certainly interesting. And it's like, OK, awesome, basically, is really on. And it's like more Gundam. 00 is getting ready to end pretty soon. So I'm going to need something to keep me fixed after 00 ends. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got something we're sending here. It's called the biggest Transformers anime figures from across Gundam collection ever on eBay for a scant $220,000. Hmm. No, that's pretty weak looking. That's like more figures than anything else. I like that. That's all Transformers for the most part. Oh, look at that wall of beastly. I hope this person at least got laid once. You know, if you go to some of the Transformers fan sites, they do one of them, TFW2005, just like a feature, where they show off people's collections. I don't know why you'd ever want to buy used models that have already been built. But I remember I was showing one to someone. And I'm like, oh, look, I sent him one of the pictures. And it's like, look, he didn't understand what I'm saying. And I'm like, there's a girl in that picture. Oh, my gods. Ha, I love this. There is no shipping this for this auction. It is way too big to pack. Yeah, local shipping. $10,000. For $10,000, I will ship it myself to you. Wow, of course, pretty spending $220,000. Oh, yeah. No, the 10 grand and the digital drop in the bucket. Yeah, that's a pretty big collection, I got to say. Where'd you find that? I was just googling anime one day on eBay. And I always search by highest price, because typically-- Because you find this kind of not stuff. That too. But you also find legit shit compared to the 50 fucking TV shorts for a nickel. You know? But oh, no, it's all legitimate. But yeah, I saw this. I was like, you know, Pat would probably love this. This is pretty cool. I've seen a bit of this kind of stuff, though. I don't know how you'd want to sell this collection, though. You know, I could sell you my house with this wing in it. That's my easiest way to do it. What the house up for sale? I wonder why you selling this. It's the thing. Why are you selling this? Maybe he's old. No. Usually they have some sob story about how they're getting married and their wife's making them sell it to pay for the wedding or something like that. Fucking bitch wife. You're making me change my ways. That's what I usually noticed in those kinds of things, is they're like, my wife's making me sell my collection, because we're getting married and we need to pay for the wedding and buy a house, apparently. Yeah, apparently. Yes, all these things just came up once a year. We're getting married, I mean, a house. Where do you shit? Ah, yes, I hear you. One of the funny ones are, I'm selling my motorcycle, because I came home with it unexpectedly, and the wife got pissed, and she said it was me or the motorcycle, but yeah, he's going to eBay, just type in Gundam and search my highest price. It's pretty crazy. My question I had for you, though, was like, I swear, will Gundam ever end? No. If you see how much money Gundam makes for Bandai, you would understand that Gundam doesn't end. That's their liver, their heart, their brain, and their blood. That is their bread and butter. It's their little money maker. It makes so much money. You read that story about how there was the-- how their Bandai visual was restructuring, and they set up a second separate-- We're not a fucking out of business, because of that shitty ass business. I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I'm talking about the real Bandai visual in Japan. Oh, I think it came with that legend, or that-- I don't know what you're talking about. You didn't let me finish what I was talking about. Oh, sorry, go ahead. Bandai visual, which is a huge company, or a huge division of Namco. In the US, it's recognized as Namco Bandai in Japan. It's recognized as Bandai Namco. Interestingly enough, but Bandai visual is a big division. It's the anime division of Bandai, essentially, in Japan. It's a big ass company. And they were restructuring, and they had like three separate departments for their production, and then-- or management, advertising, all that stuff. And then when they restructured, they turned it into six. And then one of these six is specifically designated as a Gundam department. Yeah. I like to have one of their business cards. Yeah, it's like-- it's like, get those TPS reports down to the Gundam department immediately. [LAUGHS] But yeah, Bandai-- or Gundam is very important. It's like-- it's like Hasbro killing transformers. It's that kind of thing. It's killing something that's so big and makes so much money. There's no reason to do that. The merchandise make so much money. That's interesting, even with like transformers. Hasbro, you know how big the first movie was? Like two years ago, I guess. The movie was huge. Hasbro didn't make much of any money off of the movie itself. They only got like maybe licensing fees. Oh, ouch. They got-- no, because they didn't pay for anything. They got all their money off of merchandise because they own everything. Are they going to lawsuit or some sort? No. Oh, look, I'm thinking something else on there. But that's my point, though. It's like merchandise is so important to these companies. It's like people always be like, oh, Gundam's just an advertisement for toys. In a sense, it actually is because-- Well, yeah. When you can walk down the street, you can have a 25. Well, what's the cheapest yen? A 100 yen. You can have a 100 yen. You know, the little class of "Cuppyball Things" related just to Gundam. Yeah, that's the thing. It's all-- It's merchandise, and there's no reason for them to kill something, making that kind of money. When you create an anime called "Sargent Frog," just because of Gundam-- Yeah, it's like "Sargent Frog." Yeah, I-- oh, my god. I watched the first test episode. I didn't watch it. I read it. I can watch it. Oh, god. Don't watch it. Because they do the same thing to do like Shin-chan. Yeah, I know. That's the point. They're on bull crap, and it was not even funny. There's a reason it's called a test episode. Yeah, I hope it never sees a day to light. Only today. Yes. Oh, you know what? I would love to get my hands on. No. I can't think of the fucking episode now. I think it was "ADV" originally had the show, but then "Funimation" grabbed it. But-- Were you talking about "Sargent Frog?" No, no, no, no. Because they didn't-- because that was fun. Yeah, I know that did happen. Or I think it was "Vise-Verse," like "Funimation" had it in "ADV." But basically, the first original episode was released to a select few-- Corinne Legon did that. That's what-- Corinne Legon, "ADV" was-- It might have been it, then, yeah. Like, weeks away, they were already pressed, I think, even the first volumes of it. And then they started having their first fallout with sojets in, and Bandai got that one. That was Bandai's. That's-- yeah, I don't keep the 100% track of this shit. But I would love to be able to, like, have that one first episode just to see what it was like, what we would have done. They did? I mean, they did do screeners at cons of it. Yeah, no, they did screeners. So people have seen it. Yeah, a couple of folks did get review copies of it. Yes, it's like that would be kind of neat to get old of. But that's one of those things I never-- I'll never see the light today. I never see the light today. Probably get their asses sued. They very know exactly who got what. All right, well, I think we're going to wrap things up for tonight. It's only been 55 minutes. Really? It's been 55 minutes. So much for a quick and dirty. But yeah, I think that's it for tonight. I just wanted to remind y'all to check out that other stuff I've been working on. It's at thegamingdungeon.com, all one big word. And check out Twitter, obviously, slash, path prime, P-A-T-Z prime, and that's your cue. I was waiting for you to go. Screw that. You can check out my Twitter feed at slash jellicoon, of course. And the bonsai effect, as always. All right. Until next time, hopefully, in two weeks. Cross your fingers. All right. Peace. Bye. Love. [BLANK_AUDIO]
