This podcast is a proud member of the Blueberry Network. That is Blueberry with no ease.com. Blueberry with no ease.com. Remember, you drop the ease. - You're listening to The Bonsai Beat, your weekly window into the world of anime, featuring all the latest news, episode reviews, and discussion. - And now, broadcasting live from an abandoned love hotel, your hosts, pats, and Jellicoon. - This is episode 27 of The Bonsai Beat, and this week we're trying something new. We're going to be doing a conversational type podcast compared to a rigid structured podcast where we clearly define every little thing and whatnot. Tell us what you think at show@bonsai beat.com. Thanks for downloading, and thanks for listening. - Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention? I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. And I need all of you to stop what you're doing and listen. - Okay. - Okay, okay, okay. - This week in Anime News, brought to you by Anime News Network. - Yes. - So you were acting all pissy about that Best Buy thing earlier. - That pisses me off a little bit. - Well, well. - And we'll save it for the recording, 'cause yeah, that's one of the stuff we talk. - Oh, we are? - Yes. I figured we'd just segue into it. - Oh, well, I'm dumping all that wrestling crap. Anyway. - Well, yeah, that whole rumor that they were gonna stop carrying anime in stores. - Oh, it's a rumor or-- - Turned out to not be true. - Yay! - Or not 100% true, I should say. - Oh. - They are, and this has already happened, or it's already begun. - Mm-hmm. - Past a month, really. Reducing the amount they're getting in terms of anime, they're not-- - Oh, I won't doubt it. - It's just stores there. - They're reducing the amount of stock. - Mm-hmm. - So it's gonna be the big stuff, less of the little stuff, less of the stuff that's not popular, less of the stuff that's not selling. - Like everything, but okay. - Well, I'm talking, it's all relative terms. - Yeah. - Stuff that's not popular in terms of anime is the stuff they're not gonna stock anymore. - Well, yeah, they don't need our Ioriachi from the brick box years ago. - But they don't need his lucky star. - What? Oh, yeah, they got-- - They're just apparently a horrible seller from what I've heard. - Really? - Or not very good. - Well, they got, I've seen so much overstock though, at best buy. - That's the problem. - They have like 16 versions of like volume one, box set, volume two, box set, volume three, box set. - Yeah, that's the problem. - And then here's a whole other pile of the singles. And it's like, why is there like a three to one ratio of box sets to singles? - Yeah, it is. It's not a very good thing at all. And that's not a surprise to me that they've decided to get back on that kind of shit 'cause they don't need it all. I mean, the people who are gonna buy that kind of stuff are gonna buy it online, realistically. 90% of them, well, a lot of them. 90's probably a pretty big exaggeration. But it'll be more soon since they're moving 'cause they're still gonna carry everything online. It's just less that's gonna be in the store. - No, yeah, I mean like-- - Which makes sense, to be honest. - Okay, basically theoretically, there's four stores in my area. There's like probably two big stores out of the four and then there's two smaller stores. Two small, yeah, yeah, yeah. The two smaller best buys carry maybe a very small section. But then like the two big stores have like two whole roads front to back. Like a whole display front band. Like a struggling with shelf space because of the move to a more blue ray and that kind of shit. - Oh yeah, and like some of the stuff I look at. - It's a little space back. - Yeah, exactly. Well then I would also think like they're just cutting, I would think they'd cut back on everything. I mean-- - They probably are. - The report just came out with some of the worst shopping numbers ever. I mean, Circuit City just died yesterday. - Yeah, I know that was something. It was everything. - I know it's not looking. - Oh yes, I think everybody was, everyone else is jumping for joy going. Finally, we all know they suck. - Everyone was depressed up in here because someone's under their worst forces in this town. - Oh yeah. - It's like, ah. - Great. - Then it's like, oh, that sucks for them. - And for some reason I can hear myself on your end. - You're talking too loud. - Oh, sorry. Not trying to. - That turned my volume down. But yeah, well, Circuit City never fucking carried any anime anyway. - Oh no, yeah, they carried like full metal. - To be honest, they never carried much of anything. - Oh no. - It wasn't one problem with them. I couldn't. It's like, yes, I would like to buy something there. I couldn't find something. Even when it's like a special that week, you couldn't fucking find it in their stores. - Yeah, I quit shopping there after the day that I went with a buddy of mine to help them find a computer. And the salesman said, he clicks a start bar. Look how fast that start bar came up. This is a fast computer. I'm like, do that again. Clicked it again. See, do you like computers? Oh, they're not as fast. I'm like, so you're telling me because that Windows start bar came up really fast. That's a fast computer. Yup, I'm not lying to you. This is the best top of the line. I'm like, yeah, we're gonna leave now. So yeah, and I've been to Circuit City back and forth a few times, but to the selection at Best Buy, Costco even. - Best Buy just has more stock. - Well, that's true too. - They'd rather, you know, they use their shelf space for stuff. - Easily. Oh yeah, I don't find like the half rip box of a microphone that I was looking at by. - I bought my headset that I'm wearing now. I bought that, this at Circuit City. And they were put on the wrong shelf. So I got for 20 bucks cheaper. - Oh, nice. Okay, like full for mine. - And then on top of that, I, like recently, after I got my iPod, I bought a FM transmitter there. You know, okay, blah, blah, I bought it. It was on sale. I took it out, used it for a day. And it was so shitty that I returned it. And when I went to return, I got a case. So my, all right, I wanna exchange this. The girl barely recognized that I was existed. She wouldn't, she didn't fucking say a goddamn word to me. - Wow, that's a good customer service there. - I had to ask her, okay, so is the rest of my balance going on my card? And she like barely even answered that. It's like, I was walking off, I'm like, no wonder they're going out of business. - Yeah, and like, it's like, it was so horrible. And don't get me wrong, Best Buy's not a very good company in terms of customer service. - Yeah, but I mean, they have their ups and downs like any kind of. - Yeah, but for their bad customer service, but they have stuff and their people will talk. - Yeah. - Because their dicks, they say stuff. - Yeah, we know it's so funny. - Consumers actually put up a top 10 best stories that they've received about Circuit City. - Yeah. - And there's actually one that happened here in Minnesota. Circuit City calls the police because they refuse a price match. - It looks like those kinds of stories everywhere. - You know, it sucks ass about this whole liquidation. I mean, yeah, it sucks because you're not being personally affected, but I mean, it affects you because you're in the town, blah, blah, blah. But what sucks, the people who are doing the liquidation are the same exact people who did the copuous air liquidation. - The same people that were doing best or Circuit City liquidations last year. - Yup, and they raise all the prices up. - It's a SRP. - And then that's, then they take them down the 10% or whatever. - Yeah, and they suck. I remember I went to CompUSA is closing out and I picked up actually the video card I'm still using. - I was thinking I got a good deal and after the fact, I went online, I was like, I got ripped really badly. Although I enjoyed my case, my big case of balls. - I was thinking, yeah, oh God. - The Z. - What? - No, I remember how comfy it was. I used to carry tons of balls for some reason. - I know. - It doesn't have a Z. - Oh, does it? - No, it's B-A-W-L-S. - That's it. Yeah, it's a lot of, I've actually purchased and drank it, but yeah. - It's pretty good, it's fine. - It's like liquid skittles. Anyway, yeah, it was so crazy too. Yeah, no kidding. But it was so crazy though. I mean, I remember, I'm just using the CompUSA sales example. They had like all their monitors on sale, all their TVs on sale, blah, blah, blah. But they weren't even good prices. And I'm asking them. - Well, that's the idea. It's manipulation 'cause people think it's a good deal so they can make them money. It's scamming. - Yeah, and I even asked them. I'm like, so can I haggle? I'm like, nope, there's a final price because we're going to stay on like these prices suck. - Well, it's like, yeah. Well, you got to do this one 'til it gets to the 70, 80% and then take through what's left. - Yeah, even than that. Ooh, we're going to- - I mean, the prices will be good, but there's nothing that you want at that point. (laughing) - Yeah. - I don't know, I say good written, so I'm in the company sucked. I mean- - You're mismanaged for a while. - Yeah. - It's some good deals on video games though. - Well, that weekly ads. - Oh, yeah. - I have some good deals for games. - V or- - What's been crazy is Best Buy- Our Best Buy's been selling video games for 10 bucks. - Yeah, I know, it was kind of cool. - Ninja Guide and $10 or Ninja on two. - Yeah. - I just came out much. I brought my brother Simpson's game for $10 for Christmas. - But yeah, trying to get back closer to something- - Anime, sorry. But I mean, I don't know, I'm glad. I mean, I'm not surprised. - So, I mean, honestly, if they did slower the stock of what's left in the stores, not a big shock. I mean, a lot of stuff I go through and go, this came out a year ago. Why is it still $45? - Well, that's not really- - It's just not getting as much in is what they're gonna be doing. It has nothing to do with getting rid of stuff. And yeah, they will get rid of stuff, I'm sure, but they do that all the time. - Yes. - It's just one of those things where- - I mean, well, that was- - It dropped prices, I mean, you don't- - Now, was that a real- - It's not. - Sorry. - It wasn't, well, yeah, it was a real article. - 'Cause the thing that shocked me was kind of like, how they made it. Well, they didn't make it sound like they said it. Anime Nation, the right stuff. Roberts, Anime Corner. Those are just secondary. Like, they're not as good as Best Buy. - It's nothing to do with being good. It has to do with footprint and Best Buy. - That's why I fucking bigger footprint. - That's true. I kind of felt like- - Best Buy is a national. - Retailer. - Worldwide. But yeah. - Well, part of the world, not- - I hear you though. They got a very large presence in North America and Japan. - There's a stores in North America and Canada. Yeah, the only parts that matter. - Yes. - For the terms that we're talking about. So it's like- - Look at you, Ontario. - It's important. And I don't want them. It would hurt the sales of a lot of stuff if they didn't. - You think so? - Yes. Absolutely. - I think time will only tell. - I think time will tell I'm right. - Oh, I'm not saying you're wrong. - I'm saying you're saying I'm wrong. I'm just saying I'm right. (laughing) - I'm agreeing with you, but with a, I'm not so sure. - It all hurts. - Look at how much all the stuff that comes out. That's just so niche. - Yeah. Well, that's the stuff that won't be on the shelves anymore. But the thing is, yeah, it's niche. And at the same time, when it's not on the shelves, that basically keeps it with just the niche. - You know what I mean? When it's not on the shelves, it's the niches and no one else's. - Yeah. - Or something like that. - Yeah. I don't know. You know, it's so hard to tell though, just 'cause like, the economy in way it is right now. Like everyone's cutting everything. I almost wondered like. - Yeah, right. - Like, I had a weird thought today. You know, I was listening on the news about how, you know, people, the retail suckers doing. It's so terrible, blah, blah, blah. And it makes me wonder like, I really thought about like, okay, we had credit two or three years ago, even a year ago. We had access to credit cards and credit card, you know, and whatnot. Now, this year, terrible, terrible, terrible. Everyone's running for the hills. No one's buying high-end electronics, no one's buying TVs, et cetera, et cetera. Does stuff cost as much as it should have? Or are we overpaying for the goods because we have access to credit? Unlike now, where people are saying, you know what, I think I'll save and buy the product with cash or what, or you know, buying it all together. Whereas before they had credit and said, well, I'll just pay it off later. - Yeah. - Like, does that $2,000, 52-inch Sony Bravia? Should it cost $2,000? Or does it really cost $800? You know. I mean, it's kind of a weird thing to kind of look at. - Mm. - I would say the value doesn't change. It's the priorities of the purchaser that change. - That's true. I mean, yeah. I'd rather have-- - Or have food than your TV. - And, oh, yeah. Then I knew we. - Exactly. - 250 bucks. I'll spend on food for the next three weeks. - Exactly. That's that whole idea. But, um, so, you know, we've been, we've been gone since, uh, November 25th. - Yeah, I know. - And-- - It's falling at you. - Oh, me? Okay. Okay. Two of the times I take myself on bed. - Two or a couple of 'em were your fault, a couple of 'em were mine. (laughing) - Yeah, the way it would be, it was like, I had a message to be like, you wanna record tonight? I'm tired. Two days later, he'd come with me. Where did he record? Yeah, I'm going out for a while. I'll be back. And three hours later, I'll come back. Yeah, I'm going to sleep. It's like 11 o'clock here. (laughing) Then we had the holidays. - Yeah. It's like, okay, let's record. Then you don't show up. And then I'm online, and then the next day I'm online, and you're like, hey, let's record. And I'm like, I'm fucking tired. - Exactly. My dog died. I'm sorry. But yes, this is episode 27. Finally, you know, we should be up to like 40 right now we would have stayed on track, but whatever. We did. And I'm gonna stop saying like, we're gonna be back weekly. 'Cause you know what? As if I don't say it, we will. But if I don't say it, if I do say it, we're like, we're gonna wait two more months. (laughing) So, you know, what we were gonna-- - We'll be back weekly though. - Yes, our goal. What we were gonna though, Funimation has been on a spending spree for licenses and/or reviving licenses, and/or just being awesome. I don't know, but anything to get their hands on. They're released now. - I wanna... Really good. I would hesitate to call it awesome. - Well, I'd seem like way up too much, to be honest. - 'Cause there was a lot of stuff that, there was some stuff I wanted, but some stuff I didn't. It's like, yeah, I want, what is that? - Well, I'm gonna try-- - That's the most wrong. - I think I'm gonna be able to remember them all off the top of my head, see if I can. - Okay, I'm gonna-- - I want to do, they got the chamois, I shamploo, I believe. I want that. - Yeah, you're correct on that. - I want Soul Eater, I'll probably get Ava 1.1, I believe, 1.1. I'll probably get, damn, okay, what else? Vandra, I want, Last Exile, I want. See, I want a lot of them, but at the same time, there's a few I could care friggin' less about. I don't want, oh, Edo Rocket, I don't want, I already have Gungrave. - Okay, I got singles of that. I'm basically gonna have a name. I don't want Slayers, the new Slayers, I don't, want Nabari, no, oh. So, it's like half and half for me. I think I got 'em all. - Oh, let's see, yeah, Gadgar, Gadgar. - That one I missed, damn, I missed one, Gadgar. - Kurokami. - Kurokami? - Kurokami is on Bandai's. - Oh, okay, I just pressed release for the licensor. - Yeah, yeah, that's, yeah, oh, I don't want Ictosin. - Yeah, so I think I got most of them. I think I got 'em all. - Mm, cut, yeah, yeah, it's so, I don't know, right? - Nope, Edo Rocket. - Yeah, I said that. - Oh, did you? - I said I didn't want it. - Okay, yeah, it might end up wanting at some point, but it's like I'm happy that I'll be able to get reasonably price sets for Samurai Champloo and Gunkotsuo. - Mm-hmm. - And, um, whatever else I said that I don't remember Vander Ed. (laughing) - Yeah, nothing on my, nothing except Solita really peaked my interest. - Solita and Ava, right? - Mm-hmm, Ava, not so much, like it's just a rehash. - Well, Ava is one of the things where, you gotta wonder how much they paid for it. (laughing) 'Cause you're no longer paid. - Well, it did look-- - From what I've heard, it was psychotic, the licensing fees for it. - Jeez. - They were very expensive. - Well, we could probably-- - Which is probably why Funimation has it and ADV doesn't. - We'll try to get to the dudes at friggin' ADV are burning so bad because of this. - Um, they've got problems with their own, man. - They're like burning, I-- - They got problems with their own. - Every time I've heard, I'm sure it hurts. - Oh, they got problems and that's why they couldn't afford Ava. - Yeah. - I'm sure it kills them that they don't have it. - Oh, yeah, it's like frickin' Bandai losing the licensing too. - Got 'em. - Yeah, exactly. It's like-- - Is there, was there ever green? - No, Ava was the thing that got 'em on the map. - Mm-hmm, and they don't have the movie, the new movie. now they're doing what they're re re re re re re re re re re re re re re re re re re re releasing it again this year. well they re release it they re release the show like every year at least once. three times every year. and it always sells. the spring edition. they did the christmas one. she didn't even have a christmasy box art which pissed me off. [laughs] Christmas edition! great there's nothing about christmas in here. they did a christmas edition of chrono crusade and that one had a christmas-themed box. but the friggin ava didn't. i was like okay you guys suck. give me the christmasy one. give me the girls all dressed up in those little sanus suits. sanus suits yeah. that's what the cover should be. come on give me some rain. manna. it's like yeah they're great looking. it's a cool looking cover but it's not a christmas cover. yeah but yeah. i mean the funimation got a lot of crap that is there. it's like that's really what it was. they got two good things and they got two big things. sole leader and Nabari noo. sole leader and ava my bad. Nabari noo is not big. and just a bunch of stuff to fill things out. so are you going to the box seats? i'm sorry. i'm going to talk over you. are you going to the point though you almost want to start calling um uh um funimation a new monopoly of the sort of sorts? i mean like i know they're not. they've got competition from adv and IVc2 is still releasing stuff and bandai is still announcing well they haven't announced anything yet but i mean there's still competition out there. bandai. what it seems like ever since ax. ever since ax. um it's been all funimation. well funimation. well here's probably the most important thing about it. with that move to um funimation is more resources than funimation. well actually that would actually be a hard thing for me to argue that they have more money in the bank. they just caught 10% of their stats. oh well that was just um restructuring. oh well guy that made the people they didn't need. yeah it was a good thing. except for the people that lost such hobs. oh no yeah i mean companies got a trip fat. but um since that move to box at single box sets and then or the um two sets for an entire show. you need a greater volume of releases to fill it out. that's true and i gotta say though i guarantee. those barely any production into them a lot of them. all the license rescues they don't have to put any. all they gotta do is reauthor them and put them in new. all their packaging is real cheap these days too. it's like reauthor them. put them in their cheap ass packaging and ship them out. that's all it takes for them for all the all the right license rescues. oh yeah i mean they don't even fucking change from genuine to funimation. i mean then they're i mean basic i mean like salt or slayers the new slayers they announce that's not getting released by them until 2010. oh wow. because the second part of it is airing right now in japan. ah apparently. well i gotta say i've been watching the hell out of all around host club. yeah i just i just finished the first part of season one. that show is so freaking hilarious. and now i understand why people wanted it so bad. because there was like a freaking occult to it like there was like mostly girls but. i feel hilarious though. it is just because dudes are all douchebags makes it funny. douche. i love the last episode when they go to a freaking haruese house and they're all happy to go to the quote unquote commoner grocery store. i mean i grew a poor i know what it's like to be poor and just watching this is just so fucking hilarious. it is because you always wonder like do they really say that if you're rich do you really just say like. hmm i've never been to a grocery store. Winston always does my grocery shopping. man i would if i ever had a butler i'd make his i don't i he would have to be named Alfred. he would all and if i were ever to have a limo driver his name would have to be Higgins. there you go what are on the block Higgins yes driver has to be Higgins and i need a butler named Alfred. just because Alfred's the most awesome butler ever yes indeed no argument in there indeed. but um okay this is something i was thinking about when i was watching oron you watched a dub right? yes i love that i love the dub i actually think it was done very very well here here's something i mean i don't really think about it too often but i found it really awkward when i was watching the show. i don't know if it's just someone that i don't notice too often or they don't do it too often but they would refer to each other in the dub they would say i don't even remember any of their names they would say such and such senpai. oh yeah like haruchan haruchan honey honey senpai yeah haruchan i can get by because that's kind of more of a nickname but the rest of them oh yeah i was always senpai this or that. awkward in it to me at least so i mean and i like dubs for the most part i mean i have no i rarely have a problem with a dub but. they just did the same thing so i'm sorry i'll let you finish what you'd say well like to me i kind of go to coming from like they're not native japanese why are they using the prefixes you know. yeah no i understand why they're doing it yeah i know and i understand but it just sounds awkward in english but at the same time i can't really think of a phrase to use in english that would fit that same. well like but really reminds me this is uh ayo ryachi um you know they always referred to the main man the main guy as karu sama or karu sama that's how she always said it karu sama and they you know and it's just like they refer to him as much so much like you know it's for god's name was karu you know but i understand what you're coming from it's just because the way there's a lot of time yeah kind of tapping on it's coming coming from haru when she's talking and she says in the calm sense it's oh yeah or they just says or they just say senpai and like not even use a name you'll say senpai and it's like okay what are you talking to i mean i can see the whole concept because it's it's a term of respect i guess but at the same time in the dubbing it just feels so awkward i mean i'm over i mean i didn't i mean it didn't hurt the show to me i kind of liked it just because like it kind of i didn't oh yeah the double and the only person the honey senpai i think they picked the best person for the voice um no my whole thing though i was like i kind of like it just because you hear it all the time or you read it in the dubs or i mean in the subs but yeah it's not a native uh as japanese speaking it but you kind of understand like how it's used properly you know people feels weird no i think it's just you i have no problem with it but i didn't pick people that would say the same thing that it just felt kind of awkward in the way in the way it was being spoken is what it is what it was it just felt wrong in the flow of speech because it's not an english expression but i mean it's i can get over it i still love the show and i kept watching it oh i i think the show is great i had fun animation to put more of it up on their website they got it i'm 13 which is all i've watched i ran it from netflix i'm so bomb netflix hasn't even put the second part on it's not even it's it i just came out last week i thought you know i'll pick up i'll probably i'll probably won't buy it until it comes out in a complete set with the entire show uh if that even to be honest but i i think i'll buy it eventually just because i like to show it's something i could rewatch probably end up buying it the second time it comes out in a box or something i mean i think the story works so well it's so rewatchable it's perfect rewatching because yeah i could see it no comedies are a hundred times easier to rewatch than most action stuff that although i've watched full metal panic complete three times so i don't know but yeah um i love the show i did some my number one show i've been watching it's been so great yeah it's fun i like it like yeah you kind of got me into it because i was like now whatever for my whole yeah i know i want you to watch it whatever i was like hey once i finally watch it this was real and as guys he stormed if he'll say now i've talked to other people and this was before i'd watched it and i'd seen clips of it and stuff and i was like oh no i can't watch this it just looks too um gay and i don't can they even say that that was so awesome and i yeah i know they even recognize that and i mean and people told me that but i was still afraid to watch it i was afraid to plop down for the fact that i could watch it legally on the internet oh that was great helped it helped me helped my willingness to watch it a lot because it's like all right i can plop down trudge through an episode if i like it i'll watch more if i don't i won't die so i got to watch it i was like hey this is actually pretty darn good i'm enjoying this i'm going to keep watching it that's the key and i'll tell you i have fallen in love with watching shit online now for the most part i like funimation sight and i like hulu hulu i was so pissed off i didn't tell oh i think i need to tell you this so i want to go play hulu on my fucking xbox 360 the other day yeah did i get there's a program called play on and it's like an application that sits on your computer but then the xbox 360 will automatically recognize it and add it to the videos blade but um so i fire it up hulu thing comes up all of a sudden bam black screen the fucking video chip died oh yeah i was like no you told me your video chip died you didn't tell me you were trying to launch hulu when it did but yeah i want to go sue them now i don't know i'm trying to watch hulu yeah yeah watching me watching shows on tv that i miss i i i can't remember to watch jack shit on tv anymore it's like i only have a couple shows i like anymore i like 30 rock and i like house and that's like it so i can i can wait a weekend and they're on the internet instead yeah which helps me a lot i can do that and i'm going to keep doing that realistically for a long time oh and i loved it because like i mean i'm not a big online washing person i mean i can get what i need relatively quick you know whatever but i mean like what i liked about like what's been hard about anime is either it's uploaded and it's gone like there's that time window if you can be able to get it bit torn using that wherever you want to get it yeah and then it boom it's gone so you have to go through Netflix or whatever and what i like is hulu and funimation both are actually putting decent shit out online they're not picking like it's got like all their shit online yes but it's not like lollipop girl from 1996 that nobody would ever watch or no one ever really cares about good shit on there they got good shit on both of them they got good and crunchy roll too but i had not touched them since i haven't really watched anything on it my problem with it is they really they desperately need to rebuild their site is it bad it well it was bad before and it's just still as bad hey man that was a great but i'm not awful i don't know how you can say that's good site design well the picture i got where the picture i saw well yeah the new what the new Naruto shit i looked at it said no no i know i'm just saying it's a switch over such a switch over it looks like one big fucking advertisement yeah well well that has that's has nothing to do with my problem with it my problem with it is it's just a horrible horribly built site i mean when it's built around some social networking aspects but yeah pick one or the other jerks i mean they can keep that and they can integrate it properly it's not integrated i mean it's all integrated but it it's clunky net and sent at this point they have on their home page they got that bar where it shows you what's coming soon in the next day or two and what's coming in the next week in terms of new shows popping up online because they've got a real schedule which i love that and i wish like other places had that count down which like Funimation site did that but yeah they just brought which shit up by there and said you know but my problem is i mean if you don't know what you're looking for you're not going to find it like talking the new site or the old layout the current site okay okay if you don't know like set i mean there's no easy way to just go say show me the shows that you have and let me flip through them there's no easy way to do that there's like if you know it's on there you can find it you can search for it and boom there's all its video all the episodes but there's no comfortable way to just or maybe i'm just friggin blind and not seeing it yeah i'm trying this out just to see but there's no i mean you click anime and then you click shows or something and it just lists all the crap that people have commented on in crap there's no way to just say show me this and they should have that i mean it's the whole thing they built their site around at this point dude you're very blind where okay are you on the site right now i'm getting to it you're gonna kick yourself into saying all this all right okay you see the bar the navigation bar highlight anime yeah well all the way down to index that's not what i need why not that's listing everything that's listing everything that's ever been mentioned on the day i'm sight i'm talking about a listing of what they have okay yeah i know they don't want to like i'm in a head of yori down go yeah i don't know if they don't have it yeah if you go and then you hit popular anime it'll show you it'll show you the popular shit i want show you what's big right now i just want which isn't going to be much i just want it to be very specific just like a layout where it's like this is what we have on the site checked out and you can just find what you want to watch see you you see what i mean oh yeah the fact that they have harlock and um galaxy railways or galaxy express i mean in fact they have a harlock and galaxy express on there um it's pretty darn cool when i plan on watching them on there to be honest sometime because i know those are there and i know fisted the north stars there so i can watch those shows that i want to watch legally and all that good stuff but i can't comfortably figure out what else they have i mean i can watch their upcoming releases thing sorta but even then that's not enough oh i see what you're saying now it's yeah you just want a simple layout of what do you guys offer to watch yeah what do they offer to watch every single every time everything that people have talked about maybe it's because they haven't purged it purged that part of their databases since they since the switchover or what i don't know what it is they just really need to just go in they need to rebuild it and for all you know you need to rebuild it and i would hope so i mean yeah i mean you're rearranging the entire site and the weather was meant to do hulu's perfect is what i'm gonna say in my opinion hulu got everything right about it yeah but it also took them a year for planning and well beta and everything took them a year of plant it took them a lot of planning a beta and friggin nbc behind it to do it right basically but thank you okay here's what i'll say though too nbc is the big box they can hire oh yeah they can hire the good developers they can hire but the people you can say that but it's already been done that takes a whole mess of the work out of their hands they can come up with a concept pretty close to that that's pretty easily on their own and yeah what i'm asking for wouldn't take much damn work at all i'm just looking for a list to be honest a comfortable list that doesn't have everything that they don't have on the website yep you know the other thing that kind of annoys me they started they've got these shows that they're doing you know they're the week after airs in japan they got the subs of them yep but there's some shows it's like it's just they have them say okay now we have this show in the week after it airs we have episode nine it's like okay so where can i watch episodes one through eight they magically disappear they no they just don't it's like some shows they just started halfway through the damn show oh what the fuck yeah it is be or they disappear for all i know that maybe that's what it is now what i want to know who's doing their subbing do they go to like new and soccer wolf and be like hey guys fuck open shit no it's the companies oh okay so it would be either they have people on staff that do it or um it's the companies that are giving them providing the shows hey wonder i mean i don't know how the companies providing the shows okay so then i got a question okay like i rented strawberry panic from netflix today came in the mail yippies too yippie yippie yippie yippie yippie yippie yippie yippie yeah whatever anyway it's a sub only show now of course i had a license by an american distributor i can't think of wolf top my head maybe more answers okay so well they're located in japan they're already so i don't know okay basically my question is all this is american oh is it oh okay they're all maybe i had that maybe had a japanese subsidy they're all american okay anyway this is a long story short my question is okay because they're subbing this already it's already english it's being released on the web if it were to get picked up by an american licenser would it be that much cheaper for the licenser to pick it or the distributor to pick it up because all the work is already basically done no just press it onto a disc probably not uh that's like a gray area thing oh okay i'm just gonna keep really think of much that's actually been licensed that's been on there yet i don't think much of anything has i mean sugar chara sugar chara is not licensed oh i'm stupid then sorry no one would fucking license that that's not that it's bad it's that it's too long and it's a friggin magical girl show oh okay well we're done like funimation will release one or two of those ones in a while but that one's too long for a release in the u.s it's a v one 60 something episodes at this point oh that's a lot so have you watched um the magical girl none of hot dub or you know i watched the first episode in dub and it's so terrible yeah it's it's a show i'm probably pick up at some point maybe eventually you don't force yourself i'll say that but i'm not in any hurry to be honest i've heard people say good things about it but i'm not that interested i have so much stuff you know what the best part of the show is is the engrish they use they have the one the magic part has english talking um has english talking like components of itself is happening you'll be like one act of vavito it's like what speak english proper but it might not be english i don't know uh you know it's funny you know i i i've been finishing up which by the way i want to yell at baca wolf learn to encode your fucking shit stop the honing fan subs bitch hey if i could get these legally subbed i would i started watching i want to finish off it's a neuroknock yes so 15 16 and 17 we're all done by like me or something or conclave freaking 18 plus is like baca wolf i've never had any problems with baca wolf but all their fucking episodes are pixelated and fuck up on playback get the proper codecs bitch hey they've been working just fine anyway what i was going to say though was um this uh it's a neuroknock kiss they the kiss they go to like uh they go to whole wide for their honeymoon and it's just hilarious watching them do english having a japanese person just you know passport please passport can i have your passport just like not structurally putting a good together a decent english sentence yeah i know that's just great uh i'm not trying to diss anyone or make fun of anybody i mean we all have a but yeah i just left my ass off just going you know just all these random english you know uh statements being said it's like well okay are they doing it for realism or because they can other than that i uh started watching white album and i don't know i wasn't yes god for me yeah no i i've been trying to pick them oh yeah i was gonna ask you how you've been liking the uh sci-fi version uh i i watched the first couple weeks i haven't really been watching it i i mean my brother got behind and i'm busy and it's like i've already seen it oh okay there's nothing new it's nothing new to me i've already seen the first season and i'm watching this i've watched it right now yeah i watched every within i watched the ones i watched with you the i the i uh alleluia yeah so yeah and that was really about it like not that i couldn't watch it but just in interest me enough to like want to watch it i i at this point i just can't keep up with weekly tv anymore i'm the same way i kind of quit it's like i have my tv on i just forget that stuff's on even i was like my tv is on i don't i don't care i use it for like background noise keep your mind on things yeah i'm i've come the same way like i've kind of stopped i i mean i i still kind of blog for um oga and the rest of them but i can't commit i cannot commit to a show i'm not i haven't watched a single show for the new season i don't plan to watch a single show for the new season either there were shows i was interested in i'm not willing to commit to watching them yeah i have a lot of shit that i was interested in the past couple seasons that i never finished and it's like maybe i'll finish them eventually i'm gonna try to someday yeah i'm playing catch up right i can commit too is watching gunnam every sunday night when i get off work but gunnam is more to me than just some anime yeah i hear you i actually care about more than just blah blah blah yep everything else is kind of like whatever to me at this point so i'm not gonna i just yeah i know and at the same time instead of wasting all my time there i'm spending my time like watching stuff on like i've spent a lot of time the past couple weeks watching stuff on hulu and funimation i watch like 12 episodes of the first season of holic and then um oron which is basically it right now i want some more stuff it's like okay i feel like something like that something like that it's like i'll watch that it's like hey this is a show i was interested in but i never bought i can watch it on there yep which is something i'm enjoying and then i can watch a lot and there's that other key component to it it's probably the most friggin important part of it to me and that's the ease it's like i'm just sitting there on my friggin laptop and i'm all right i'm bored i can just go to the funimation i'm saying go to hulu i'm gonna watch this oh yeah i can do that sit back and you listen to the dubs i don't have to get my ass up and walk to the other side of my room to get a dvd yeah that too that's probably one of the nicest parts like oh i'm freaking gonna want to watch any dvds because i don't want to get up to get them that's like i'm having an ass i can just hop on my xbox click click watch watch wow yeah you got an asshole of them i just get them from netflix and rip them because you do it right then i don't do it right then but i mean yeah i'm guy i'm like i looked at my over my anime over my legit dvds i own and i look at them i'm like i just don't feel like starting a whole new show you know i have a fight here but i'm probably will watch soon and i've also cut back my i'm cutting back my spending for the next couple months pay off some deaths and shit oh is a good thing pay off my credit car and just get my every tax is coming yeah taxes are coming get your tax money back tax money i don't know that'll go to that's yeah that's what i'm probably pay off my credit card again okay well i think we're gonna call the show this week um nobody's week not month yeah kidding but uh you know we're just trying to couple different things out um so if you really you know if you enjoyed what we kind of today um or even say hey go back to the old format or even just get improve give us suggestions um you can mail us at show@bonsib.com or feel free to leave feedback at this list of websites we've created yeah at this point it is a list god it's like 70 yeah hit up a bonsai anime
