A Kanawha County jury will continue deliberations today in the trial of Joshua Phillips in Charleston, Phillips is on trial accused of the killing of Police Officer Cassie Johnson. The surviving suspect in the shooting death of a Nicholas County Deputy has waived his first court appearance. A woman has also been charged with illegally buying a rifle for the other suspect in the Nicholas County incident who was a convicted felon. An embattled member of the House of Delegates has resigned. The Legislature will meet later this year to discuss how best to handle a windfall surplus of more than a BILLION dollars.
