And this year's West Michigan's Morning News team, Kelly, Brett Keaton, Laura Smith, the day early, weekend events. You know what this song was used for perfectly? The fireworks scene in the sand lot. When they all stop playing and watch the fireworks? That's right. Well, we've made it to that weekend. Independence Day, long weekend for some, some have to come back on Friday. Sorry about that. But a day early, we're doing weekend events, lots to get to. Pretty much undefeated since 1776. We'll start with a list of different fireworks. So the majority of communities in West Michigan will be doing fireworks on the 4th tomorrow, of course. However, downtown Grand Rapids will be doing their fireworks on Saturday night, taking place at Anabawan Park. That's going to be a lot of fun. Tonight, we've got a couple of big events. The Pentwater fireworks go down tonight at 9.30, if maybe you're heading north for a little bit. By the way, we locals from Ludington in a mean-spirited way called it Peewater. So there it is. So you know what was in. Wow! Kind of downstream, too. Oh, how about you? Boy, we quickly became ununified in this 4th of July, didn't we? The South Haven light up the Lake fireworks also tonight. The Grand Haven musical fountain, don't forget that's going to be a great one tomorrow. And then Gun Lake and the Casino doing their fireworks on the 6th as well. So there is a full list of all the communities when they've got parades going on. The Frederick Meyer Gardens is doing a red-white blue and U salute from the 6th, 10 a.m. until noonwoodradio.com. It's a lot going on. We've also got some fabulous fun on the Lakeshore. This is going to be really cool. The Independence Day Engine start on the USS Silver Sides at the sub-museum in Muskegon. Veterans active duty free. Just a heads up. There's going to be a lot of things where it's going to be free for veterans and active duty. Big show tonight at the Frederick Meyer Gardens. Amos Lee takes the stage. He's come a couple times. Big fan favorite tickets. I believe still available for this one. In fact, just a few left. That starts at 7 o'clock. Our white caps also in town for one final home game this evening, 705 against the Great Lakes Loons. And it's the red, white and Frankie bobblehead giveaway. Oh, I got to remember. Where Sandy and I are going tonight. So I got to. They're early for the bobble, man. The Grand Rapids booty fest also this weekend. This will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Calder Plaza. This thing is packed. Third annual tons of food trucks. They're going to have live music, dance, performances, drinks and some vendors. Studio Park hosting another sunset cinema on Saturday night eight o'clock. You are going to see Top Gun Maverick. Oh, hey. That's right. You are. Think of that outdoors too, right? One peppy. So cool. And another great one on the Lakeshore. This has been going down and it will be again happening on Sunday, praised by the pier in Grand Haven. So if you head out right on North Harbor Drive, Gorgeous Lincherwood Waterfront Stadium, that'll kick off at 630. I'm all all about that venue for concerts. It's beautiful. Even there's ice cream at the train depot thing on either end. Right? Line too long at this one. There's ice cream on the other side. Don't forget we also spoke with Travel Michigan's director. There's a lot of last minute trips you can take if you find yourself with a couple of days off, including some great trips up northwoodradio.com in the podcast section.
