It would follow if the criticism for President Biden's debate performance just came from the other side of the aisle, but it is Rorionil, NBC News Radio National Correspondent, on the live line with us this morning. Rorionil, thanks for doing this today. Good morning, Steve. So, the President vowed immediately that he will go on, but there's been some talk. What more do we know? Well, we know that over the weekend, the Biden family members had a little gathering at Camp David. Actually, the gathering was on the books before Thursday night's awful debate performance, but the big topic of conversation was, apparently, family members urging Joe Biden to stay in the race, despite some opinion articles, some op-eds, some online chatter, social media podcasts, all saying that Democrats may want to rethink the top of the ticket based on that debate performance last week. What about other leadership in the Democratic Party? Has anybody come out to be particularly critical? That's where it comes up short. We haven't seen a big name, a big face within the current Democratic Party to say, "Joe, you've got to go." We don't have that yet. Right now, all we're seeing are the big names saying that, yeah, it was one bad night. It was a night off, but an off night that Biden should continue because he's the only guy they think who can defeat Donald Trump in November. Look, unless they get a big name to come along with this push, they start to fall apart. And we should add, I think Tony Allen mentioned that he's made 33 million in contributions since then, so the money's still rolling in. Yeah, and then he had a couple of great speeches that he gave after. I don't know if you saw him on the road either. To the debate on Thursday night, there was an after-party, or a wake, I always call it, but he was all fired up and charged up and was a different person. And speaking at a rally over the weekend, again, lots of energy. You could hear him clearly, nothing like the stumbling mumbling that we saw on Thursday night. I should say that at that Camp David meeting with family members, there were some calls from within the family that perhaps some leadership inside the White House should change. So maybe Biden needs to shuffle around or shuffle out some of those top advisors who were giving them all that advice leading up to the debate. You will read more at woodradio.com.
