That's Adam Arrocho and it's Monday, June 24th, 2024. Skid two today's top five shmity. Where does it all start? Oh, at number five, a Chicago resident stopped a burglary last week by hitting this suspect with a frying pan on her. Jason Williams said he was first alerted to a burglary attempted his house at about three o'clock in the afternoon. His alarm company called him to notify of suspicious activity at his front door. Williams was away from home at the time. But on his way back and looking at his camera, realized a man on his front porch is trying to break in. When he got home, he didn't see anyone went inside. And that's when he came face to face with the suspect coming down the stairs. He said, I realized I have to find myself telling WGN, we got into a tussle. I grabbed my frying pan and I just beat him. Was it just, the dude was caught and he's in fine condition. Was it sitting out? I mean, for those that don't put your dishes away, this is a reward. If you came at me and I was anywhere in the vicinity of my kitchen, I were like black stone style frying pans right there. Grab it right off the stove top. I'll tell you this. When the movie comes, well, I can't wait to hear the sound effect. Right. Is it a clang? What's the tone of the number four on the list? A long time runner up in California's world's ugliest dog finally got his crown. On Friday, four time was the charm for wild thing and eight year old pecanies from North Bend, Oregon, who previously placed second in the annual competition three times before. I don't know what's worse for your esteem being the ugliest dog or not even being ugly enough to win ugliest dog. There. Either way, right? It's just not the shot in the arm. I think many of these animals with the steam problems needed. I'm not going to make fun of them. Sure. Yeah. Number three on the list at number three today. What does a shrimp have to do with baseball? I'll tell you in less than a minute. It was only a matter of time before this happened with the pitch clock rules now in effect of the major leagues. We all knew this was going to happen and it finally did on Saturday night. Let's set the scene. Colorado Rockies hosting the Washington Nationals bottom of the night. Game tied at six each bases loaded. Rockies third baseman is at the plate. The count is a full three and two nationals closer Kyle Finnegan delivers a swing and a miss struck him out. Oh, but wait, seems Finnegan was a second or two late delivering the pitch pitch clock violation. It's a ball, which means it's a walk and with the bases already loaded. It's a walk off win for the Rockies. It was bound to happen. And now it has. By the way, the term fantasy league players use for that a walk off walk a shrimp. Oh, okay. Now it makes sense. And number two, I know I'm glad the heat wave is gone. But for parts of the country, it's still here. So the Department of Energy released their thermostat recommendations. And I'm going to take away 10 degrees from each one of these. It says 78 when you're at home, 85 when you're away, 82 when you're sleeping. Most funny response I saw to that is the entire town is going without power. If I have to sleep at 82 degrees, say that the truth for crying out loud about that last week up north, I was like, Nope, I just got central air for my first time since college. That's a good we went around the horn last week, Smitty. And Adam and Mrs. Adam, 68 overnight. Yeah, she likes it to be a refrigerator in the house. Nothing wrong with that. I told you Chris locked me out of our system. What? Well, let me move it. I was like, pardon you, bro. Did my rent check clear? I'm sorry. I didn't, I didn't hear that. Oh, yeah. I mean, nothing against you, but my respect for that man builds everybody. Finally at number one on the list, the answer, which former game show host from Canada is being honored with a forever stamp in the United States? Obviously, the question Alex Trebek on Friday's episode of Jeopardy new host, Ken Jennings, announced that the US Postal Service will issue a forever stamp honoring the former host concurrent with the show's 60th diamond celebration launched earlier this year. Presales from this special stamp begin Friday at USPS.com and event occurred at Sony Picture Studios with Jennings Jean Trebek, who is his wife and Michael Elson, secretary and the board of governors at USPS. So if you get one of those, remember you have to ask in the form of a question. Now answer in the form of a question. I got to go lay down. That's today's top five.
