Here's what's happening. We're getting a little break today from the humidity during the day, but it's coming right back. It's going to be a very warm end to the weekend today, but not nearly as humid as a good deal of sunshine, except just between 85 and 90. But the humidity will be on the rise again tonight under a mainly fair sky low 73. And that's how you weather meteorologist Brian Thompson, the full forecast coming right up to news. Now former President Donald Trump is said to be recovering at his Bedminster Club in New Jersey after being released late last night from a Pennsylvania hospital. We get more from CBS News. CBS News Special Report. President Biden is condemning what the FBI's called an attempted assassination on former President Trump. There's no place in America for this kind of violence. It's sick. It's sick. It's one of the reasons why we have to unite this country. We cannot allow for this to be happening. We cannot be like this. We cannot condone this. Trump survived the shooting, but two people died, including the shooter who was killed by Secret Service. Two others were critically injured. Are John Dickerson with more reaction. This morning, Trump posted on his social media account got a loan who prevented the unthinkable from happening and said it is more important than ever. We stand united and show our true character as Americans. The FBI says the 20-year-old shooter had no prior record and had not been on law enforcement's radar. He was armed with a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, which the ATF is now working to trace. CBS News Special Report. I'm Monica Ricks. And this just then, according to multiple law enforcement sources, the urgent trace conducted by ATF found that the firearm recovered at the scene was legally purchased by the suspect's father. Massachusetts political leaders are reacting on social media, Governor Mora Healy saying, quote, "political violence has no place in this country, and all Americans must condemn it." Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, Congressman Jake Auchincloss, and Congress Women, Ayanna Presley, and Lori Trehan also condemning the violence. The Massachusetts Republican Party released a statement saying, whether Democrat or a Republican, despite our differences, we all desire peace and prosperity in our nation. Republicans are now on their way to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention. ABC's Jim Ryan says, people, the assassination attempt, rather, is on people's minds. 500 miles west of Butler, Pennsylvania, phone started buzzing here in Milwaukee Saturday afternoon. Cooper walled in a Peoria, Illinois, in town for the Republican National Convention. It's horrible, and that's what everybody said. On both sides, you know, you hate to see that happen, and there's other people that are injured as well, besides President Trump. The Republican National Committee says the four-day event will go on, culminating with the nomination of Donald Trump as the GOP presidential candidate Thursday evening. Still going to be warm this afternoon, but not nearly as humid with a good deal of sunshine, high temperatures between '85 and '90, but the humidity will be back on the rise tonight under a mainly clear sky, low 73. Hot and humid tomorrow, with times of sun and clouds, it could be a late-day thunderstorm, a high of 92. We'll be in a low to mid-80s for much of the Cape and Islands. And as we head into Tuesday, breezy, very hot and humid, with sun and some clouds higher on 95. Hot once again on Wednesday, with times of sun and clouds, it will turn breezy in the afternoon with a gusty thunderstorm, high Wednesday, 93. I'm actually with the meteorologist, Brian Thompson, WBC, Boston's News Radio. And checking the region. We have 84 degrees in Plymouth, 84 in Ipswich as well. It's 84 in Lowell and 80 degrees in Worcester. In the city right now, it's 83. And we do see sunny skies all the way around. It's 1105, a world-renowned fitness personality, has died in Los Angeles. We get that story from ABC's Alex Stone. One day after Richard Simmons turned 76 years old and was on social media thanking his fans and claiming he was sitting and writing emails, Simmons was found dead Saturday in his home here in LA. Police sources tell ABC News there was a 911 call from his housekeeper. And when police and fire responded, Simmons was dead of what appeared to have been natural causes.
