[Music] 73 degrees in Boston at six o'clock. Good morning. Welcome. I'm Charlie Berger on here. What's going on? A hot stretch of weather begins today. We can expect a mostly sunny and warm day today, but it won't be as humid as recent days with highs of 85 to 90, followed by mainly clear skies tonight as that humidity builds back once again with a lower around 73. That's actually whether meteorologist Latroy Thornton full four-day forecast coming up. Former President Donald Trump is recovering this morning after he was shot in his right ear. This happening during a rally last night in Pennsylvania. The campaign for former President Donald Trump says he's doing fine after the shooting Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump says a bullet pierced the upper part of his right ear. Law enforcement officials say the gunman was a 20-year-old man from Pennsylvania, who the Secret Service says had killed. Authorities say another man also died, and two men were critically injured. The special agent in charge at the Pittsburgh FBI field office, Kevin Rojek, says it appears law enforcement did not know the shooter was on a roof outside the rally venue until he began firing. It is surprising, but again, to get all the details of that will come out later in investigation. The GOP convention begins Monday in Milwaukee, and Trump advisors say he looks forward to attending. On my campus, Trump was rushed off the stage to his motorcade, and then taken to a local hospital, President Biden holding a news conference to make a statement long not long after the shooting. But the bottom line is that the Trump rally, the rally that he should have been able to have been conducted peacefully without any problem, but the idea, the idea that there's political violence or violence in America like this is just unheard of. It's just not appropriate. And we have everybody, everybody must condemn it, everybody. Vice President Kamala Harris also weighing in saying violence like the assassination attempt at Donald Trump's campaign rally has no place in our nation. Harris posting on X that we must all condemn the support act and make sure it doesn't lead to more violence. She also said she is grateful for law enforcement's immediate action. Massachusetts leaders reacting to the shooting at the former president's rally. Governor Moore Healy on social media saying and quoting here political violence has no place in this country. All Americans must condemn it. I am grateful for the swift response from law enforcement. I'm relieved the former president appears to be safe and my thoughts are with all who were at the rally. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey, along with Congressman Jake Auchincloss and Congresswoman Anna Presley and Lori Trahan also condemning the violence. The Massachusetts Republican Party releasing a statement saying whether Democrat or Republican despite our differences, we all desire peace and prosperity in our nation. Let's check the four-day WBZ AccuWeather forecast. Latroy Thornton tells us today will be sunny, warm, not as humid, high between 85 and 90. Clear. A little more humidity rolls in tonight. We drop back to 73. Tomorrow, clouds, sun, maybe a late-day thunderstorm 90 to 94 and even in the 80s for much of the Cape in the islands. For Tuesday, sunshine clouds breezy, very hot and humid, high to 96 on Tuesday and then Wednesday, more of the same clouds, sun, maybe a late-day thunderstorm, temperatures to about 94 for a high on Wednesday. So it looks like the next four days, great days to be around the pool, be at the beach, but get those air conditioners cranking. It's going to be very oppressive. Today, not as bad humidity-wise, but Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, very humid. Right now in Boston, 73 degrees at 6.05. Despite the rain yesterday, hundreds of veterans and their families came out for the Fifth Annual Veterans Music Festival in Quincy. There's live music and a DJ. And Minutemen re-enactors firing off muskets. I got to fire one myself. Organizer Greg Brassa with Veterans Voice Radio says new this year is a veteran's author corner. So now we have veterans reading these books thinking, gee, I'm not the only one that feels that way. Maybe life is worth living because I'm not alone. It's one veteran helping another. When they go to the VA hospital, they don't want to talk to a master's in psychology. They want to talk to a grunt Marine that's been in the combat with them because they can relate to them. iPods for wounded veterans is here giving away all kinds of electronics. Okay, we have Sony, we have Soundbuds, we have Google Home, we have earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, Alexa. They even gave away a 51" TV. In Quincy, Suzanne-Sosville, WBC, Boston's News Radio. Finland's parliament approving a law granting border agents the power to block asylum seekers from crossing over into Finland from Russia. This comes after Helsinki says more than 1,300 people cross the border in recent months, accusing Russia of weaponizing migrants in retaliation for Finland's decision to join NATO.
