This is WBSE Boston's news video redefining local news. 88. Hazy sunshine. Real feel today. 100 degrees. It's 11 o'clock. Good morning everybody. I'm Lori Kirby. And as of right now, seven Massachusetts counties are under a DEP air quality alert. That hot human brick wall of air is expected to last until 11 tonight, which is when the alert is set to expire. Ozone levels could be dangerous for people with asthma, older adults, children, and people who work outside. Again, the air quality alert is for Eastern, Hamden, Hampshire, Southern Worcester, Central, and South Eastern Middlesex counties, Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk counties as well. The post of a panic seems to be simmering for the moment. Here's CBS's Nancy Cortes. President Biden made it through Monday without any new democratic defections and with some key backing from his party's house leader. "I support President Joe Biden in a democratic ticket." And from high-profile progressives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. "The matter is closed. He is not leaving this race. He is in this race and I support him." It came after Biden himself turned up the heat on Democratic doubters Monday with the defiant appearance by phone on cable news. "But then he dies. I don't think I should run against me." President Biden also sent a letter to Democrats in Congress yesterday to say that he is firmly committed to winning another term in the Oval Office. But not everybody is saying that's going to happen that way. Alright, President Biden faces perhaps his biggest mental agility test yet since the debate the NATO summit. That is getting underway in Washington. Here's ABC's Karen Traverse. President Biden is hosting the release of the 32 nations in the NATO alliance and partner countries including Ukraine in Japan. The first event is this evening, a commemoration ceremony at the Mellon Auditorium, the location where the NATO Treaty was formally signed in 1949. Thursday he holds an event with Ukraine's President Zelinsky and nearly 2 dozen allies and partners who, like the U.S., have signed security agreements with Ukraine. That evening, the President will hold a rare solo press conference, something he hasn't done since last November. Karen Traverse, ABC News, The White House. Alright, and this story now, the Karen Reid case, the judge and the Karen Reid murder trial has impounded the names of all of the jurors citing risk of harm. And it comes after the defense said they were tipped off by a juror. That in that datum courtroom, the panel was unanimous about Reid not being found guilty of second-degree murder, the most serious charge against her and leaving the scene of personal security in the United States. It is not the case. It is not the case. It is not the case. It's not the case. It is the case. It is the case. The judge has impounded the judge and is not going to be found guilty of the murder and leaving the scene of personal injury or death. Now, Reid's lawyers made a motion for the judge to dismiss those specific charges. They were still deadlocked on manslaughter. And obviously, that would leave manslaughter if the case were retried as the prosecution intends. At this point, the judge has not said anything about dismissing any of the charges, but again, the judge has impounded the names of jurors citing risk of harm for the next ten days. Migrant families were not looking for risk of harm for the next ten days. Migrant families pick up their sleeping bags, their book bags and the like. They've cleared out a Logan airport. Well, it really is getting pretty intense in terms of stormy weather in Gardner. The furniture capital. We're seeing some downpours there. We could all see some downpours even some thunderstorms and spots later in the day or the evening. But when I look at this doppler, it seems to be moving pretty quickly west to east. We'll see. Heat advisory is almost eight o'clock tomorrow night. I have a revised AccuWeather forecast from Joe Lumbirk. 95 degrees today in Boston are high. The real feel 100 degrees. That's oppressive. That's because that do point is, gosh, I think it was 78 or 80. And then I saw it at 83 and it was just going up, up, up. This entire week we're seeing temps around 93 tomorrow with thunderstorms. Also the remnants of barrel bringing a whole lot of moisture our way. Thursday thunderstorms almost 90, almost 90 Friday as well. No break. Today was a deadline for migrant families sleeping at a Logan Airport to find a new place to sleep. WBC Sherry Small tells us those families seem to have complied. Morning Logan Airport workers at Terminal E were seeing cleaning the space and I'm told just a handful of migrants slept overnight, Monday into Tuesday. The deadline for migrants to stop using the terminal as an emergency shelter. Governor Mora Healy mandating the July 9th deadline. Mayor Michelle Wu sharing her thoughts on the matter. You know, we've all seen the pictures. I've been there myself and talked to families. Sleeping on the floor is no place for a little baby and for people trying to make their way and find a new life. Right now we have a Logan federal immigration system. The state has been working to provide new shelter space. Capacity at the former Norfolk prison has been increased with over 100 people, mostly migrants who were staying at Logan. At Terminal E Sherry Small WBC Boston's News Radio. The Massachusetts R and V has seen a big time jump in license applications over the last year. More than 130,000 new driver's license have been issued since last July. Officials think they know why the Work and Family Mobility Act that news state law lets undocumented immigrants apply for driver's licenses. Dr. Alec Baldwin heads to court for day one of his manslaughter trial jury selection getting underway three years after the fatal shooting on the set of the Rust movie in New Mexico. The FAA is now investigating another near miss between passenger jets. ABC's Rhiannon Ali with that. Audio captured the confusion in the cockpit.
