The free gift of righteousness

Justification is the instantaneous and irreversible divine declaration of the unrighteous as righteous, based upon the merit of Christ’s obedience, applied by grace and received through faith (Rom. 3.24-28; 4.1-5; 5.1-2).

God did not pretend to place the sins of the world upon Jesus. He really became sin. And God does not pretend to place the righteousness of Jesus upon you. If you are born again, you really are righteous.

Justification is not something you seek to attain. Justification is something you accept by faith. Through justification this supernatural transition into the born again identity is made a present reality.
