Arise, Go over this Jordan - Pt 3 - Be Bold & Courageous

Stay away from negative people or small-minded people. In v33, Saul tried to discourage David by pointing his attention to its limitations, but David changed the narratives by pointing to its past successes. David anchored his successes on the might of God and affirmed that this same God will help him now. What would you do? When situations come up to discourage you, take a moment to pause and cast your mind back to your past successes and on how God has come through for you then. Remind yourself of the faithfulness of God. The more you rehash the successes of the past, the more success images you are feeding your mind and the more success images you feed your mind, the more courage you will receive to step out and get the job done!

In his book, Pscyho Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz, he defined a term called “Automatic Success Mechanism” as the way to reprogramme your mind/heart to bring you more success. ASM is a subconscious process which, when activated, effortlessly guides you to more success in your life. It basically involves using & directing your subconscious mind to provide you with more success – how? Through the power of visualisation. In v34-37, David engaged his ASM based on the Person and Character of the God who never fails. So, let your heart boasts in and embraces a picture of the success of the past to cast out any fear-driven pictures. Boast in your past successes based on how and what God has brought you through.

Psalm 103:2 says Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me? Who is to remember these miracles? You are. In the face of challenges, boast in the Lord! Psalm 42 TPT gives a clue as to what you can do when you feel down and this need to boast in the Lord: “So I say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be disturbed. For I know my God will break through for me.” Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again. Yes, he is my saving grace!”

Here is an affirmation that I crafted from Psalm 42:11: I am not discouraged. I am not disturbed because I know that my Father God will breakthrough for me. I will always have plenty of reasons to praise Him all over again. His grace continually saves me.
