#3 - Call to Sonship - Of Sons. Daughters and Slaves

The Spirit of God in the believer confirms the believer’s sonship/daughtership. How does He do this? He cries “Abba Father” (Gal 4:6 TPT). The word “Abba” is the Aramaic word for “father.” It is also found in Mark 14:36 when Jesus used the same words to describe God when He was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is amazing that in the middle of the greatest temptation and challenges, Jesus continued to call God Abba. Abba is a word of devotion and a term of endearment. Abba is “Daddy” or “Papa.” It is hard to imagine a closer relationship to have with God than to call him “Abba, our Beloved Father.”

As a son/daughter of God, you are the glory of God on earth. Although God will not share his glory with any other, we are no longer “another,” for we are one with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through faith in Christ. In fact in John 17:22, Jesus already gave us His glory: For the very glory you have given to me I have given them, so that they will be joined together as one and experience the same unity that we enjoy.

Find out why it is dangerous to think of yourself as a servant of God instead of a son/daughter of God. All in the episode:
