It's surprisingly inexpensive to connect and compete as a couple, even with kids. Find a written summary of today's show on BIGGSUCCESS.COM.
Welcome to the big success show. Today, we'll talk about having a wee bit of fun. The big success show with George and Mary Lynn. A wee bit of fun. We have some friends Paul and Stephanie and they just bought the Nintendo Wii. We're over at their house not long ago and we got to play, we got to Wii. Is that what you say? Wii? We didn't. We. We. Well I guess we did Wii. Well it was a lot of fun. You know I've been hearing about the Wii and so funny to say that. But yeah we got to box. We got to play tennis. Yes. Played a little golf anyone. Did some bowling. I mean it was just a blast. Now for the record Mary Lynn I guess I should admit you kicked my arse in boxing. Then I did. Yeah I'll tell ya. It's kind of a sore the next day. That's too bad. That's kind of the cool thing about Wii 2 is that you really do get into it. Especially you with tennis. I was scared it was going to get hit by the racket. You were like whoosh. But you know it gives you some physical activity along with the video game. That's right so I mean we got to bond with our friends. Yep. We had a blast and we got a good workout. Right and see part of the reason that Paul and Stephanie have the Wii is they've got a wee little girl and they don't. I'm getting confused with all the weeks. They can't get out too much and so they were able to make a small investment really on this game system and it gives them something to do. They get to have some fun and couple time when little Ellie goes to sleep and whenever they have friends come over we were all down there playing. That's right it gives us something to do. I'm not a big gamer I have to admit but this was really a blast and so I think there may be a we in our future. We we. Now coming up in expensive games to connect and compete at the same time. Today we're talking about some ways to bond and connect as a couple or a family that really don't cost that much. That's right we were just talking about the Wii. Now it's not super cheap in the long run you wouldn't see by all the toys and the different games and stuff. Come on Marylin it's a small upfront investment for a lifetime of fun. Yeah that's the thing though it's a small investment that saves you money over time. Couldn't give you something to do at home right but I mean what else are we going to do at home. Watch TV. This way we're going to watch TV and be active. Yes exactly but there are other ways and even cheaper things to do to be able to bond and connect. Yeah one of the things we love to do is our local theater whenever we go to movies or sometimes actually I suppose we can let everybody know this we just go for this one reason. They have an air hockey table. Yes. And Marylin and I love to play air hockey and I have to tell you Marylin you are the most competitive person I think I've ever met. Well hey when it comes to air hockey. I'm not competitive I understand. Oh yeah. Right. That's why we've got the air hockey puck flying off the table but yeah we will get into it won't we. And the sad thing is what really gets my goat is that I love this part. I have yet to win an air hockey match against you and I don't understand because I'm pretty good. Yes I know you are but you know I guess I'm better. But now okay to throw it back at you right we also occasionally go out and play you know we're fortunate because we've got a park down the street. We've got a school down the other way. Yeah nice basketball hoop and we occasionally go out for a good round of horse or something. Yeah you know Marylin if I could spell horse I'm pretty sure you may have beaten me. Oh I know I have. But you know just fun little things that you can do at parks and games and there's board games I mean all sorts of great ways to bring out that fun little competitive nature in each of us and bond at the same time. Well like with the Wii they had tennis and so we played tennis there but it's it's more fun to be outside playing tennis and we're lucky also we have a park down the street that has a tennis court. So you know that's a cheap way to have some fun connect and compete. Well I was reading a book not too long ago that just said especially now with couples being so busy and so strapped for time and it's important to connect in some way every day. And if you can do it with a game why the heck not? That's right Marylin the thing I don't want you to do though is keep connecting with me in boxing. Wow.
