Welcome to The Big Success Show. Today we say, if you want to succeed big, stop working. The Big Success Show with George and Mary Lynn. Fred Grazin is the author of The Lazy Way to Success. And we saw a great post on his site recently called The Definition of Success. And his definition is you're a success if you can give from abundance. And when he says, give from abundance, he means donating money, spreading happiness, inspiring health, propagating love, sharing knowledge, motivating people. There were a lot of people back in the 60s propagating love, weren't there? Yes, too much. This reminded me of a speaker that we had once in my class, and he said that his goal, the single goal he had in life was to give one million dollars away. One of my students asked a question. I thought it was a pretty good question. He said, well, you say your goal is to give a million dollars away. What do you, what do you have for yourself? And his answer was, my theory is, if I can afford to give away a million, I don't have to worry about myself. That's a good point. Yeah. Well, the real value that we found in this post from Fred Grazin is that he also said a lot of people think you have to work hard to be a success. I think we're told that Fred disagrees. In fact, he thinks you have to avoid work to be successful. And by work, the way he defines it is you're working. If you'd rather be doing something else. So the thing is, if you love what you do, it's not work. You can spend countless hours doing it because there's so much joy in it. And we do spend countless hours working on big success. Countless hours, Mary Lynn. I would say countless hours. We put a lot of work into what we do, but it doesn't necessarily feel like work. I mean, I wake up and I'm excited to do it. And that's because we're doing what we're passionate about. Right. And a lot of times it seems like I wake up and next thing you know, it's like 10 o'clock at night, right? I mean, time just flies by. Now, that's not to say it's always easy. It's not to say it's always fun. I'd even say sometimes it does feel like work when we got a deadline of some sort approaching, but for the most part, it doesn't seem like work. And coming up, we're going to tell you how to avoid working for a living. Today, we're talking about how to succeed big by not working for a living. A great example of a person who's doing this is a fellow we talked to not too long ago on the big success show, Sean Aiken. And Sean's a guy, of course, who had 52 jobs in 52 weeks. We've got a link to his interview on our site today, a big success. But, you know, it was a senior year of college and his dad said, son, find a career that you're passionate about. Don't just work a job. And so he took on this little experiment. Now he's got the website, he's working on a documentary, he's working on a book. So he's created a business opportunity for himself with something that he's passionate about. So it's so he's not just toiling away a job that makes him miserable. Right. He didn't he didn't find a job. He found a love, right? Yeah, he found his own business. That's right. And he he created his own path. I mean, what he did has never been done as far as I know by anybody. Right. And truthfully, may never be done again. I don't think I could do what he did. But I know you give your advice to your students quite a bit about not necessarily just going for the money job, but making sure that they're finding something that they can enjoy. Well, my students are business students and in particular, a lot of finance students. And so money means a lot to them, but you do see them making that mistake sometimes of going for the highest paying job. And the problem with that is it's cyclical, first of all, what's high paying now may not be as high paying five years from now relatively speaking. But the other thing is you'll rise to the top in a profession you love. So you're going to end up doing better, going for what you love. Then if you take on a career that you're just not really that interested in. So create your own world like Sean did. Use your imagination. Don't accept the terms the world sets and what other people tell you. And as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, when you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen. So make a decision to do what you love. You can find a written summary of today's show on our site at Big Success. That's big with 2g success.com.
