Welcome to The Big Success Show! Today, we'll tell you how to print your own money legally. The Big Success Show with George and Mary Lynn. Boy Mary Lynn, I've been waiting for you to tell me that for quite a while. What kind of operation are we running here? Well, I never thought about this until we read the story of a woman named Chrissy Thompson, but printing coupons is just like printing money, except you don't go to jail for it. You do not pass go. That's right. And Chrissy's a master at couponing, and in a little bit, we're going to tell you how she feeds her family of five for as little as $10 a week. It's amazing, and of course, when times get tough, we all look for ways to save some money, right? And the thing is, using coupons is no different than making more money. We think it's negligible, but the savings really can add up. Sometimes you think coupons are just for junk or things that I don't need. Or it takes too much time, it's too much hassle. There's a stigma with coupons too, like you must be cheap because you're using coupons, or maybe it's because you don't have money that you have to use them. Or you do like I do, you clip them and then you can't find them. But you know, Thomas J. Stanley wrote the book The Millionaire Mind, and one of the things he points out is that a characteristic of many millionaires is that they clip coupons. They are cheap. Coming up, we're also going to tell you how Chrissy paid only two cents for $380 in products. Today we're talking about Chrissy Thompson, who's a big success at saving money while shopping. Now, we read a story about her going grocery shopping. We have a link to that on our site today. She has a husband and three kids, and she spends as little as $10 a week to feed them, but her bill used to be as much as $250 a week. That's incredible. And you know, one of the tips that I got out of this article, Mary Lynn, I didn't realize this was. I thought that when coupons said one coupon per purchase, it meant you could only use one coupon per transaction. And Chrissy says that actually that means you can use one coupon for every item that you buy. And what she really loves is when she can double up, like the store runs, buy one, get one free, and then she can also use her coupon. Here's an example from the article. She bought a box of cereal for $379. It was buy one, get one free. So she bought two boxes, and she had two coupons, worth $3 each, for a total of $6 in coupons. So she ended up getting paid $2.21 to buy that cereal. That's what I call cheap cereal. Who is he, get a toy? Well, and another thing she really likes is, for instance, CVS has extra bucks. So she looks for items that are free after this incentive program that they use called extra bucks. Here's another example from the article. She bought Deodorant for $499, but she got $499 back in extra bucks when she bought it. So basically she's getting that Deodorant for free. Pretty good deal. She did the same thing with a toothbrush. Yeah, and then when she gets the checkout counter, she breaks it up into multiple transactions so that she can use these extra bucks right away. Throw in a manufacturer's coupon, you're getting paid to shop. And now for that shopping trip that we mentioned earlier, the one that Chrissy is most proud of when she went to Target, bought $380 in merchandise and paid only two cents. She's two cents. Her trick when it comes to this is to print coupons from the target site and use manufacturer coupons. So basically you've got two coupons per product. That's pretty amazing, isn't it? She's awesome. It all comes down to check out the article, explains her whole process, it's some research and some work, but it definitely pays big dividends. We've got links to coupon sites including Chrissy's favorites on our site today at Big Success at BigWith2GSuccess.com. That's also where you'll find a written summary of today's show.
