Welcome to The Big Success Show. Today, we'll discuss The Secret to Action. The Big Success Show with George and Mary Lynn. Sharon Anne joins us today. She's the author of five books, including the newly released Create Your Own Reality, the ancient wisdom. Sharon has appeared frequently on television and radio, including the nationally syndicated radio show, Minding Your Business, and an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show. And now, we welcome you, Sharon, to The Big Success Show. Thank you so much, George. Sharon, why don't you start by telling us what inspired you to write your latest book? I have worked with entrepreneurs and people who have been downsized since 1992, and the one thing that I find that's consistent is that even though people know they could be doing better and working less and making more money, unless they have someone stimulating their imagination, it's very hard for people to go through a change. So the book is designed to help people realize that no matter what's going on in their life, if they take one step or enroll one person at a time, they can change anything that isn't the way they want it. And Sharon, you've said when we've talked before that this book kind of goes beyond what the secret, where it took you. Exactly, and I love the fact that the secret brought the consciousness to so many people about their thoughts and staying positive. But the one thing that people missed in the secret is being in action. You have to be in action. It's not enough just to think about it. You have to go through some form of I'm taking a proactive role in my life. Well, what do you think it is that keeps people from taking action? What is it that holds people back? I believe some people truly believe that they're not entitled. I think that some people think it's just too much work to get what they want. And I think other people are just too overwhelmed by what's first. And if I can't figure out what's first, I'll just stay doing what I'm doing, even though it's not what I want. Could you, if there's one, you know, little piece of takeaway that you could give our audience members, maybe somebody who's feeling that right now, what would be the one thing you would tell them to start working on right now before reading your book? I would say making a list of all the things that they want to change, but put it in a phrase of the positive thing. Some of the clients that I work with when they say they want a better job, what I get them to do is describe what it's like to work at the company, what their task are, what the people are that they work with, and then backtrack. How do we then get to that point? So anything that they want to change, whether it's a relationship that's not functioning properly, you know, what is the first thing that they believe is a step that they can take, that they can be in control? Because I think a lot of this has to do with people being out of control of their own lives. That is awesome, and I think it just sounds like you got a lot of just amazing practical advice that people can use right away in this book. You know, it's simple knowledge that most people, even though they might be aware, they don't apply it to their own life. And it doesn't hurt to be reminded of it again, right? No, I have to be reminded. That's right. So like Oprah calls it the aha moment, what do you call it? Well, there's many different aspects to this, but I think it's dawning of the day when, you know, like in city slickers, you get your do over. So thinking, oh my gosh, my life is just surrounded by quagmire. And all my friends are always complaining and leaning on me. And my relationship isn't working. We're fighting all the time. And I hate my job and, you know, all these things. I think about every day is brand new. Every day we get to reinvent ourselves. And that's a great attitude to have is just every single day is brand new. Well, thank God, because today hasn't been good for me. So I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
