Welcome to the Big Success Show. Today, we'll talk about Cupid's four steps to follow your heart. The Big Success Show with George and Mary Lynn. Happy Valentine's Day, everybody. Be mine. Today is the day of love and romance. Oh, in chocolate. In chocolate, a man in life is like a box of chocolates. Is that what your mom always said? Whoa. Hey, what was that? I don't know, Mary Lynn. Let me go see. Ladies and gentlemen, an arrow was just shot through the window into the Big Success Studio. There's something attached to it. What is it, Mary Lynn? Check this out. It's a letter from Cupid. Oh, Cupid, all right. We told him we were going to talk about this. He didn't have to try and shoot us. But anyway, this letter says, oh, he loves the Big Success Show. Oh, that's awesome. Glad to know Cupid has internet connection. But the main reason he sent this note is because he has a message he wants us to share with our audience. He says that it's great that we're getting more and more educated, but he's distressed because there's so much emphasis on thinking logically. He's afraid that we're losing our ability to listen to our hearts. So he'd like us to share what he calls his four steps to heading in the heart direction. Heading in the heart direction. All right. Well, Cupid's first step, I see from the note here, is to figure out what your heart desires. Because you know, deep in your heart, what you really want. And if you were living your heart's desire, what would your day be like? What would you be doing? Would you be in a different career? Maybe spending less time at work. You don't own your own business. Spend more time with your family and friends or spend more time on your favorite cause. Only you know your heart's desire. What is it? And Cupid's second step is to use your head to plan how to get your heart's desires. Because you know where you're at and you know your heart's desire. So how do you connect the dots? And so here's where you use your head. Do some research, test some ideas, try to find ways to get where you want to be. Not all your ideas are going to work, but keep coming up with solutions to get where your heart desires. So now you know your heart's desires and you have a plan to get there. Cupid's third step, believe with all your heart that you can do it. Yeah. And you have to believe until it becomes a burning desire, an obsession. You just can't be happy until you achieve it. Your heart will never be full. You believe so much that you know you can do it. You will do it because, to use an old quote, if you believe it, you can achieve it. Yeah. And his fourth point is put your whole heart into pursuing your heart's desire. You know, Marilyn, the first three points I've noticed haven't involved taking action, but you have to take action to get your heart's desires. Step four, get you in the game. You're actually doing it. You're going for it. Along the way you will face adversity. Cupid never said it was going to be easy, but you never give up. Your head will tell you to quit, but you just keep going and listen to your heart. Yeah. That's why the prior three steps are so important. You have to want it. You have to think you can do it. You have to believe with all your heart that you will do it so you can overcome those negative voices in your head. Coming up, Cupid offers some advice for the heart broken. Today, we're talking about Cupid's four steps for heading in the heart direction. And there's one more thing I noticed from his note, Mary Lynn. You know, he says that some people have tried following their heart before and fallen flat on their face. And here's what he says. Don't worry about it. It's going to happen. It's better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. Yeah, it's better to pursue your passion than just let life pass you by. The biggest regrets people have in life is what they did not do. And that's much harder to get over. Yeah, don't look back on your life and wonder what might have been. Well, Cupid, thanks a bunch for shooting this note our way. And you can get a written summary of today's show on our blog at big success dot com. Before we go, George, let's get our big quote for the day. And Mary Lynn, I appreciate that you picked out this quote because of the gentleman's name. And I'll do my best. It's Jacques Benin Bosoul. Oh, really? He said the heart has reasons that reason does not understand. Sometimes thinking outside the box is just a matter of getting inside your heart. Next time, we're going to ask a question. It's actually a riddle. And here it is. Where are you if you ain't where you are? Nice English. It's not about the English, Mary Lynn is about the question. Okay. We're going to mash up some advice from Colonel Sherman Potter. Oh, I love Sherman. Until then, here's to your big success. (gentle music) [BLANK_AUDIO]
