God gave laws concerning social justice. He commanded Israel to remember His faithfulness through the practice of the festivals and feasts and abstain from even mentioning the names of other gods. God reaffirmed His plan to lead Israel to the promised land and He would provide direction, safety, and success on their journey. Israel committed to do all God commanded. God told Moses to go to the mountain top again where He would provide commandments on tablets of stone. The glory of God was like a devouring fire on the mountain. Moses was on the mountain top for forty days and forty nights.
